  1. One more Global/CTV/CBC fiasco to report on is the beating of the "Pizza" truck driver from Romania, I think his last name is Vizi or some such. A Canadian (I'm assuming) caught him on video being beaten by multiple officers, after he had surrendered peacefully with his hands behind his head, while down on his knees. Two cops, one on either side, kneed him multiple times while other cops held him down. The police arrested the camera guy and seized his equipment for all his troubles. The video still got to Fox, Tucker showed it, gave the video to CTV and CBC along with the contact info of the guy who shot the video, but of course our propagandists never showed the violent beating because it looks bad for sockboy. Welcome to Canada. You'll be fine here as long as your lips are on Justin's ass. I'll provide video of it in due time. My word is trusted over that of CTV, CBC and Global here anyways.

  2. I guess it depends on what other shenanigans Trudeau has up his sleeve. For myself, I'm going to much more vigilant about what he's up to. This is the first time I've ever emailed MPs and Senators. I think I'm going to be doing much more of it in the future. Not my first protest, though. If I lived closer to Ottawa, I would've gone, even if just to experience the wonderful Canadian spirit and camaraderie and freedom I saw there.

  5. Yes, the city of Ottawa and the police were aware the convoy was coming - organizers communicated with and got permission to protest there. I think what happened is that NO ONE - not the police, not the city - expected the prime minister to slander and then completely ignore them.

  6. if you think that the police should hunt Canadians down and beat them up before throwing them in jail because a slim majority of ideological partisans despise these people for invoking their Charter rights it's not enough that you crushed them in the streets with an army of police you want to hunt them to the ends of the earth now ? that's called fascism, the dictionary definition of

  7. Yes I saw that too. One of the saddest scenes from the protest was watching a man get beaten behind a row of police while Oh Canada played. It reminded me of scenes from Jewish ghettos at the start of the Holocaust. To know that in the place where recently families played and strangers formed conga lines and danced… Watching how giddy Freeland was when talking about how the freezing of bank accounts, loss of truck insurance, and other cruelties meted out for political opponents would “bite” was the image of a sadist. I never thought the “Liberal” Party of Canada could stoop to this or that our police could dehumanize regular Canadians so easily. They were “doing their job”. We may not have imprisonment of the Conservative Party and Bloc, but I’ve never seen political persecution approaching this in Canada. Putin’s playing of Oh Canada on the piano after yesterday’s yes vote to the Emergencies Act, ending the song before the word “free”, was a real commentary. Canadian democracy is in crisis. Our Cabinet appears to be beholden to an external unelected power. I pray for Canada’s liberation from tyranny.

  9. Seems to me, and I ain't no lawyer, that the Emergency Act is federal, meaning it applies everywhere in Canada. The government also indicated they can extended it as long as the "threat" to Canada exists. If Canadians start protesting in their own home towns in, whether that be in Alberta or someplace even further west of there doesn't matter. The government can direct the Crown to prosecute them, then claim the emergency still exists and continue extending the Act. Protesting is effectively rendered illegal in Canada. In fact, even writing the post could be illegal...

  10. Yup they’re breaking laws and using the fake crisis that they manufactured by refusing to meet with or respond to the protesters in order to cripple political opponents financially and through criminal charges. This is full-on Caucescu’s Romania. So they have two options: Either they totally back off the unjustified Emergencies Act and unscientific, unconstitutional vaccine mandates OR they cling to power and absurdly try to extend their powers further. The second choice lands them in jail. The first choice becomes more impossible every passing day. Ha, what they don’t get is that many Canadians would rather be under Trump’s leadership than our dictator — by far actually. Wow these guys are unbelievable.

  11. Also, I think you may have been sheltered in your echo chamber a little bit. I have come across lots of left-wingers who think the pandemic is a corporate plot to sell pharmaceuticals for profit. Some even think it was created by the single-use plastics industry because it has driven up of the price of plastic resin with all the plastic wrap and gloves and masks being manufactured. They tend to be people on the edges of the political spectrum who, for some reason, are incapable of understanding how impossible it would be to fake a worldwide pandemic. On the left, their numbers are lower (which is why you think they're invisible), but on the right, it seems, the idiots have taken over the asylum

This means that you can consider an idea, point of view, perspective on its merits without jumping out the window in anger immediately upon seeing it written. So whether or not I personally subscribe to "woke" politics, blockades, or skepticism of one kind of another, I can answer the questions: 1) Do I agree with this ? Am I convinced ? 2) Are the arguments presented reasonable whether or not my mind is changed ? What we need on the site is more ideas that prompt a 'yes' to #2

  20. That's the point. The MSM is no better than the internet for accuracy and non-bias. Myself, I pride myself in no longer watching network television. For fun I love going to the Drudge Report. Don't go there if you are suicidal. But it's the best way to get the absolute worst news....we are all gonna die COVID news, and Hair on Fire the Russians are coming news.

  25. Hmmm...another Libbie shortcoming. Ya know...I don't like any of the reporters or commentators on CBC, but I do hear them out. Same goes for CNN. The reason is...I'm more concerned with the truth of things, than I am with my butt-hurt feelings about any particular reporter. You might try it. I find it brings to light all sorts of things you may have never considered before. That, in fact, is how a democratic government is supposed to function. And the lack there-of is why our current government is so dysfunctional.

  28. This situation is different. I've had my bank call me because of a charge from a foreign country and I explain, "It's okay, I'm in Puerto Rico right now." Much different than the government using the power to freeze accounts because you attended a protest or donated to a cause they don't agree with.

  29. 1. Because you are borderline reasonable, and seem reluctant to lie. So I don't have you on 'ignore'. You made a claim and immediately when asked about it you say they are in hiding ? Okay then. 2. Please try to find a single quote from me that says I 'support' the Liberals, in that I would vote for them or think that they are more than 'the least worst' option. Even then, I mitigate my comments about the Trudeau Liberals with a lot of thought, so you probably won't find any such post. 3. Ok - so nobody on here then got it.

  31. the government is clearly trying to provoke people into some sort of desperate action so the government can then play the victim and unleash even harsher measures again, classical fascism but these Canadian politicians are out of their depth they don't have the forces to manage what they are trying to provoke thus it seems on trajectory to blow up in their faces exponentially beyond their control widespread breakdown of civil order, bank runs, capital flight, economic collapse, etcetera

  33. a fundamental right under the Charter cannot be abridged, even by the Emergencies Act if you call a peaceful protest and non violent civil disobedience "violent insurrection" then falsely declare an "emergency" so you have a rubric to crush the protests under jackboots then retroactively criminalize anyone who supported the protest in the slightest as "terrorists" so you can employ war powers against the fundamental human rights again; fascism not even subtle, fascism in the classical sense

  34. The bar for the Emergencies Act is too low. Should be 3/4 of Parliament and 9/10 of provinces or so. Passing such a powerful legislation should require more than a bare majority.

  38. Nobody fears commentary by someone like Lauren Southern. At best she elicits an eyeroll and a chuckle, but mostly we just ignore her as just another angry Karen. Nobody said they were the same thing. I said that your whining about the trucker's being sweepingly/generally criticized because of a few exceptionally bad actors among them is richly ironic given how quickly you're willing to do the same thing if it's a protest you don't agree with. What on earth are you even talking about now? I don't think you can even keep your own points straight, nevermind what others are saying. ?

  42. In a stunning admission for a government official, Canadian Justice Minister David Lametti admitted the political motivations for seizing bank accounts during a television appearance today. Minister Lametti told CTV News today, citizens identified as supporting President Donald Trump are subject to “de-banking” as part of the Canadian government’s official target identification process. During the segment, Justice Minister Lametti hedged and dodged questioning about what terms and conditions the Canadian government is using to instruct the RCMP and financial institutions. However, after equating the Trudeau order to the same principles around terrorism, the ‘Justice Minister’ finally said: ...”If you are a member of a pro Trump movement who is donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to this kind of thing, then you ought to be worried.”
