  3. This article describes six ways leftism acts like a religion. "Conservative commentators have been mocked for years for describing leftism as a new religion of sorts. Since 2016, it has become clear that the modern left was determined to prove us right. What we have witnessed unfold in this country over the last few years, and have seen increase exponentially as the 2020 election comes near, especially with regard to the Black Lives Matter movement, is an expression of religious zealotry so widespread, unforgiving, and violent that it might have made the Puritan governors of 17th-century Massachusetts worry they were being outdone. Leftism is not a political ideology anymore. It is a full-fledged religion complete with tithing, penance, forced confessions, iconoclasm, internet inquisitions, public rituals, excommunication, heavily policed virtues, sacred texts, seminaries, and online auto-de-fes. The proof is too plentiful to ignore.

Here are the signs that we’re truly confronting a theocracy of totalitarian religious extremists. 1. Conformity, Strictly Enforced Virtues, and Excommunication Throughout history, religious nonconformists and dissenters of theocracies like the one we’re now confronting have been denied political and civil rights. Those who fail to express their undying loyalty to the Church of Leftism and participate in its public rituals are marked as heathens and “canceled” faster than you can say “due process.” Those who dissent publicly from their established doctrine are routinely censored, humiliated, shunned from certain schools or organizations, and even deprived of their livelihoods. In this religious system, heretics and apostates are ruthlessly suppressed and denied the full benefits of participation in the body politic. Even if you’re silent, the media choir will call it violence and demand you be shamed and unfollowed. If that’s not enough puritan madness, the choir will also instruct you on how to be sufficiently woke. The New York Times recently ran a piece suggesting you must demand your family and friends donate to left-wing causes or threaten them with excommunication. Other ways leftism demonstrates it is a religion: 2. Inquisition To ensure the aforementioned conformity, the Church of Leftism has established a Tribunal of the Woke Office of the Inquisition. They police speech; launch vicious pressure campaigns against celebrities, schools, and corporations; and work to ruin the lives of those who dare dissent from established orthodoxy. Even those who commit only the most venial of sins face the wrath of the woke. 3. Sins Speaking of sins, the Church of Leftism has a lot of them. Groupthink is required, or else dissidents will be smeared with an -ism, -ist, or -phobia. Once the church attaches those labels to you, you might lose your job and get a public shaming. Homophobe, racist, bigot, xenophobe — these accusations used to carry meaning, but the left has misused and misapplied them for so long, they have lost almost all weight outside the pseudo religion. 4. Penance If you do find that you’ve committed a sin after the woke inquisitors have their way with you, you shall be forced to commit a humiliating public act of penance. Grown men have been forced to beg on their knees or prostrate themselves. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey did it willingly only to find that no amount of groveling or virtue signaling could ever satiate the most extreme members of the church. 5. Public Ritual Some leftist church members are perfectly happy to humiliate themselves without coercion. Its political priestly class, for example, is incredibly fond of gaudy vestments, their favorite fabric choices being white and Kente. Lay members choose more lively rituals or synchronized chants. They even have holy wars. Look no further than the riots waged in large part by the far left and remember the phrase they’ve been using during the riots: “By all means necessary.” In their jihad, the only possible redemption for infidels like you or me is to come on bended knee, groveling and ready to convert wholesale to their liturgy of insanity. Even that might not be enough to save you. .6. Evangelization The missionary zeal of the Church of Leftism is enough to make the Latter Day Saints envious. Its evangelists are everywhere, their efforts permeating all aspects of life: television shows, websites, social media, consumer bank landing pages, corporate advertising. Barely a single product, app, or promotion these days comes without a free leftist sermon. For more on this and the whole article go to: 6 Ways Leftism Acts Like A Religion (thefederalist.com) Of course we see real life examples of the evangelization of the Leftist Religion on CBC, CTV, and even commercials.

  4. There is ACTUALLY a cretin here (a liberal, of course) who said college should NOT be about training for a high paying job. And that moe ron knows who he/she/it is. Yes, I have a lot of fun with the "Lesbian Dance Theory" thing, thanks to Ben Shapiro. People who get themselves equally in debt for Sociology or Philosophy degrees are equally ignorant. And here in Florida, a very LOW tuition community college can put its grads into careers like plumbing, air conditioner repair, etc, where the yearly salary starts out at almost six figures. The Occupy Wall Street Movement was created by a bunch of Moe RONS who ran up six figure student loan bills, didn't IMMEDIATELY get offered a six figure income for their Lesbian Dance Theory degrees and blamed American capitalism for being so mean to them.

  5. An interesting international read about one of the top Canada food execs getting a million-dollar raise among an acute food and inflation crisis in generations. Soooo funny how Singh complains about other, private company execs while seeing nothing wrong with own obscene pay and benefits in the Canada political system paid, note the difference please OUT OF THE PUBLIC'S POCKET. But OK, these are just words made by an agile tongue and carried by airwaves - and they'll carry anything who cares, right? Something is quite clear though: the country is exiting the period of relative broad prosperity based on ineffective exploitation of natural resources. With steeply rising immigration, entrenched and outdated political system, business culture based on isolation from competition, grossly overpriced goods and services, what would the future hold? Anybody can see a good news here? Will, and could the preferred (and the only one known) trick of one time handouts make a difference?

  6. Pink hair. Blue hair. Nose rings. Facial tattoos. Eyebrow rings. Anybody who looks like a troll doll come to life is a full-blown leftist. Full initiates chant: "What do we want? DEAD COPS! When do we want it? NOW!" and "Pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon." The group is rife with slogans/platitudes like: "Orange man bad!" "Seditious mobs." "Reparations" "Insurrection/Mostly peaceful protests." "De-Fund police!" "Global warming." "Bodily autonomy." "The vaccine/no bodily autonomy for you. "RACISTS AND MISOGYNISTS!" "Pro-choice." Like an exorcist armed with the cross and the holy water, the woke crusader goes forth with a quiver full of baseless accusations and platitudes.

  8. No, that's just misinformation from the left. It's a lie. Post any information showing that they are proposing an actual ban on the book. And there's the real difference between the right and left - the left HAS to lie to try to make it's point where the truth serves the right just fine.

  13. Real conservatives belief freedom of speech should not be banned or limited with rare exceptions. It is the left or liberals who want to ban speech and control what is said on social media, etc. It is leftism that wants to police what everyone says.

  14. Only if you believe in infinite growth. Failing that, only technology can do it. We went from an age where debt was expensive and eliminating it was a priority, to making money almost free and encouraging debt to keep juicing the economy. People and governments became addicted to it as they were intended to . That has limits as we are now finding out on a personal level. Governments will too.

  15. Communist or Fascist states don't allow other parties to exist. I thought democratic states allow any group to have their own political party. Unfortunately even democracies seem to veer off the rails and end up in the gutter often. It only proves democracy in and of itself is no guarantee of a good, honest society.

  16. It is natural for people to form alliances for common beliefs. Identity politics is just the organizing of people with common beliefs on something. Some beliefs might be reasonable but many must be rejected as harmful to society, such as leftism and progressivism. "Identity politics is when people of a particular race, ethnicity, gender, or religion form alliances and organize politically to defend their group’s interests. The feminist movement, the civil rights movement, and the gay liberation movement are all examples of this kind of political organizing." Identity Politics | Philosophy Talk

  17. I think cerb was a dry run and i think that the vast majority would say it was not an experiment that went well for the UBI supporters. People are happy to give when their own needs are met. Right now - things aren't going so well in that department. And at some point things will tend to nosedive more. Justin is still dumping tonnes of unearned dollars into the economy and that's creating inflation pressures the bank has to fight with interest rates. I think if anything it'll go the other way and people will be less likely to want to give up their cash for someone else to "live free". I mean, we cam't even get people worked up over the fentanyl deaths any more. Too many people don't have enough for themselves to give freebies to others.

  18. There is certainly a noticeable similarity. The part that is concerning is the blind adherence to the dogma without regard for fact or reason. The 'faith" is all, questioning the faith is punishable. While that might be one thing for an actual religion, it's very bad for a political movement. there's a reason histories don't smile on theocracies and why most civilized countries recognize the need to have seperations between church and state. I would tend to classify the left these days as more of a cult than a religion, but there can be no doubt that its nearly the same thing,

  19. Hey here’s a fun look-back at the right’s many failed predictions of “get woke go broke” and pathetic boycott attempts whenever some company has a commercial they don’t like or gets singled out on one of their cult leaders’ bully pulpits. In this fun piece Rolling Stone does a “so where are they now” review of the companies Republicans predicted would collapse as a result of right-wing rage Companies That Get ‘Woke’ Aren’t Going Broke — They’re More Profitable Than Ever Sorry, Kid Rock, Bud Light's gonna be just fine “GET WOKE, GO broke,” has become a rallying cry of the political right whenever they see a brand make the slightest effort to align itself with liberal or progressive values. It’s a meme that allows MAGA country to believe that there is ongoing, massive backlash to products that acknowledge and celebrate marginalized communities. But the supposed boycotts never seem to be reflected in the bottom line. …Though the U.S. economy is facing headwinds and earnings may be down across the boardfor the first fiscal quarter of 2023, there’s ample evidence that major brands tend to easily weather anti-woke furor. Here’s an accounting of several that right-wingers vowed to ruin, and how they’re faring in the aftermath: … …The threats from conservatives have had no measurable effect whatsoever. It’s almost like being “woke” — to the degree that the right can even define such a quality — won’t sink your business. But hey, I’m no accountant. https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-features/woke-companies-broke-profits-1234710724/

  20. Not to butt in on your discussion overly much - but i felt this particuar point should be addressed. Everything comes back to how many houses we build. That is the only thing that affects actual cost of home ownership or rent for most people. If there's enough homes, the cost is lower. if there is not the cost is higher. Most of what you mentioned is either wrong or is only right because of housing supply. Lets look: -Interest rates: Doesn't actually mean anything for the average buyer. If interest rates go up then purchase price goes down but payments remain the same. Ohter than those who have cash it doesn't change the actual realized cost, people will still pay the max per month they're allowed to. -Taxation policy: Not really. Again, in a market where there's not enough homes people will spend the max their disposable income allows after tax regardless. -Rental policies: Again, not really. IF there's not enough homes, then if policies restrict rentals then home prices go up as more try to buy and rental rates go up due to fewer rentals. If rental rules are relaxed and there's not enough homes then people hold on to investment properties but more people are trying to rent so - same thing. -Foreign investment rules: Makes no difference whatsoever. Foreign investors only care about buynig a lot of homes if the values are shooting up, which doesnt' happen if you're building enough homes. Canada doesn't so we're targeted, but if we did it would not be an issue. And as most investors rent the properties out it actually doesn't change our real housing situation at ll. In short - the only reason it's a problem is we're not building enough homes. -Immigration policy: You're closer to the mark here - but not really. Again - if we were building enough homes immigration would have zero impact. -Environmental and land use policy: Only in as much as it makes it hard to build enough homes. -Demographics: That doesn't mean anything. there are no demograhpic issues that aren't addressed by supply. -Market factors - supply and demand for housing: The ONLY thing that matters. If there were enough homes, they would be affordable and rents would be as well. ALLof our housing issues are due to not enough homes being built to satisfy the demands of our population. Solve that problem and the rest go away.

  21. The economy doesn't, no. Its' not really possible per se. The value of work doesn't really change. Techology can change and make life better - people have far better medical options to day than they would have 40 years ago. People have more access to entertainment and information due to tech increases. But that's not an 'economic' issue. Generally the standard of living improves with technological and other innovations but not really economic ones. The economy can't really improve the lives of people per se. If it does it can only do so by providing more money to people - which inflation will simply wipe out very quickly. About the only change the economy can make that makes life 'better' is stability. If the economy is more stable over time it makes people's lives better. They can plan for more, they don't have their savings wiped out by economic uncertainty just as they're retiring, they can build better lives. But that's about it.

  22. Inflationary special interest program spending, over-regulation of the energy sector, carbon taxes, the subsidy of war overseas, and the reliance on cheap labour are radically driving up the cost of living. All the Liberals do to fix it is spend even more money on “targeted programs” that create winners and losers and drive up inflation and debt even further.

  23. No that’s completely wrong. Maleness is being portrayed as toxic. Men who have been the builders of much of our civilization are being shown the exits by leftists like you. The fact that you blame the “patriarchy” illustrates this.

  24. You don’t see the authoritarian tendencies of today’s left. It’s why many people like me who were left of centre are abandoning the Liberals in Canada, because that party pushes some radical perspectives to the extent of trying to censor media and compel speech. There’s more of this coming from the left today than the right, by far, and some of the agendas being pushed are twisted and destructive, such as MAID for the mentally ill or state-funded gender transition for kids, etc.

  25. Public schools don't have the funding they need to give them their own classes. Plus, autistic kids do need to spend time around non-autists in order to learn how to function in society. So even if that funding was there, most kids would still come into contact with autists at some point. Well by teaching kids about autism, we're teaching them about tolerance for people with disabilities, whether mental or physical. Most people are not in a wheelchair, but children's media has had shows like Pelswick in order to teach kids about tolerance as well as give representation to kids with physical disabilities. I gotta say, this really just sounds like contrarianism. Like, what is the issue here? We're destigmatizing having a disability while also teaching compassion? Is this bad?

  27. Everyone is a product of their time, for millennials to claim they would be any different if they were born boomers or boomers would be any different if they had been born millennials is laughable. This intergenerational mud slinging is ridiculous and accomplishes nothing. Boomers did have to deal with 20% interest rates but a home cost three or four years gross salary, not 15 or 20 like today. Still, I can remember people walking away from their homes in the mid eighties because they had bought at the peak and their homes were now worth less than their mortgages which they now couldn't afford because interest rates had jumped 13% in the five years since they bought. Deja vu all over again. No computers, internet or cell phones to spend money on back then. All of which are essential for most people today. Most people only had one tv and one car back then. Lots of money to spend on things these days that didn't exist then. Some are necessities. We were fortunate enough that my wife could stay home when our kids were young but a vacation was two weeks camping, not Disneyland or Maui. Eating out was McDonalds a couple of times a month and a nice restaurant on birthdays and anniversaries. We also moved across the country and back and I went off shore twice to stay employed. I made sure I was never unemployed and never burned a bridge with an employer even if I didn't like working for them. Personal debt was treated as an enemy that must be defeated, not encouraged with artificially low interest rates. We probably got that from our parents who went through a depression and a world war. Not because we were smarter. Paying off the mortgage was a #1 priority but I get that this is just a dream for many with today's home prices in and around our major cities. We have also lost a lot of good jobs in things like manufacturing because of globalization and have become an economy heavily reliant on service industries and real estate. Is that a result of companies wanting to make more money or people wanting cheaper stuff? It's both. Finger pointing might make a person feel good but accomplishes nothing.

  28. He’s calling out very real concerns. I don’t think you understand that it’s not about making people feel badly about having dysphoria and I’ve always been kind to trans people. That’s not what’s at issue. It’s about being able to state your views and recognize that there are many rights to consider. Ignoring biology isn’t for everyone, nor should someone be compelled to pretend that they believe otherwise.

FOX says viewers should know that this is for entertainment and will be exaggeration, and for entertainment purposes and that viewers know that they should take him with a dose of skepticism.

  33. But that wasn't a protest - it rarely is. Anytime a guest speaker with an opposing view comes to visit one of these looney bins, the guest is either verbally threatened, physically intimidated, or campus security is called because someone's mobile safe space has been invaded by a visitor's opposing point of view. The trans community is insane, and it needs to be treated as such.
