Isn't it already working? Trump is begging for help from the countries that he continuously ignores, insults and disrespects. His line yesterday was "maybe we shouldn't be here at all." He's a man of little conviction, on the verge of taking his ball and going home.2 points

If all you've got left is lies that anyone can look up and see the truth of then there's not much else to do but just point at you and laugh Just another lefty liberals selling out our military. Pathetic So where are all these new weapons? Oh right. They're in the budget but they haven't actually been purchased or acquired Got some nice trees though2 points

I gave you the facts. The raw, unaltered facts. You reject them because they destroy your warped narrative. That would be...your problem. A problem you can only try to resolve with angry little comments. Which means, of course, you got nothin' left. But that's not really surprising, considering your mentality and intellect.2 points

1. Oil prices are set globally, not by CBC. You're correct though that the carbon tax was implemented to encourage using less oil. 2. Not only the CBC, but I'd have to think everybody wants to war to end oil pricing to come down. Kind of makes sense for both the humanitarian and economic pain it's causing don't you think... 3. I didn't see where Greta was involved in this shit show, and this comment if you call it that makes little sense. 4. Greta again... the kid gets around. Is the once every hundred years fact based, or just your best guess? Good insights though...2 points

President Trump is a honorable man and a man of action. He delivers what he promises. He has made America great again and hopefully will free Iran and the world from cancerous Islamic republic. The ones before him like Obama, Carter, Biden were cowards but he is a man of courage. He saw a big problem left to him from the past and he dealt with problems. He was democratically elected. It is nonsense to call him a dictator. He delivers on what he was elected for. He was elected on the platform of tariffs and make America great again.1 point

The long term security of the world and gas price stability by far outweighs this short term pain. The US and Israel are making the sacrifices to free the world from this murderous terrorist regime, this cancerous world organ, so far has killed close to a thousand Americans, supporting terrorist groups all over the world causing terror and death, recently killing over 50,000 unarmed civilians (if they kill their own people so easy how do you think they would do to you infidel?) fast going for nuclear weapons and means to deliver it to North America by a bunch of terrorists occupying Iran having the belief that they should kill the rest of 6 billion people. Think it through before posting of all the long term benefits for everyone in the world.1 point

The M0R0N Trump already said he's a dictator. He just LIED about it being for only ONE DAY. Nothing in that regard has changed from day one, at least until Congressional RepubliCONS put a leash on him. Just look at him tearing down the East wing of the WH with IMPUNITY. That is OUR HOUSE. And invading Iran with no approval from Congress. 🤮1 point

Israel will determine when the U.S. excursion in Iran is complete ........ what Israel did not want was a 2 front war when they were dealing with the more immediate - Lebanon (Hezbollah) The U.S. will retire when the IDF is satisfied with their northern flank and are then free to turn their attention on Iran in a maintenance mode based on their Intel to prevent nuc proliferation. If it gets out that the U.S. was punked by Netanyahu ............. even the insinuation? Disaster for Netanyahu - not so much in Israel, but in the U.S. and by extension political support FOR Israel. Brilliant move by Bibi - I support him ......... a guy that uses every tool at his disposal.1 point

If you're referring to the specifically the covid vaccine, he's correct. For males under the age of about 50 as I recall the vaccine was more dangerous than covid for those who didn't have a severe underlying condition already. That research has been concluded and a number of studies were posted here showing exactly that1 point

The U.S. is a major exporter and importer (gasoline) ANY change in international trade or demand directly affect U.S. business and consumers. The Persian Gulf is important to the U.S. because it is a critical maritime chokepoint for global oil trade and it's derivatives Arguably the U.S. wouldn't be the Nation it is today without the global economy, designed by the U.S., post WWII. It's often asked, 'why is the U.S. seen as the global cop"? It's because stability is the life blood - the U.S. has by far the most to lose in commerce due to global instability and denied access to sea routes - think South China Sea - dash line? In any case whether the U.S. is a net energy exporter is moot - ask yourself why is the price of gas increasing? Simply put, the oil produced by fracking (high sulphur) in the U.S. is not suitable for the domestic refineries. Big oil has invested trillions, over decades, in developing refineries tailored to imported oil that is low sulphur. (ME) Why don't the refineries retool? Because the return of investment would never happen - non renewable energy is the past?1 point

No not really. His family made billions in a mere matter of months after opening these really shady opaque businesses with secret mystery clients. He started an opaque Crypto “investment” businesses and made billions in a matter of months from secret “investors” The brother of the UAE prince gave Trump half a billion dollars in “investments” and miraculously Trump then removes a UAE-from a list of countries banned from accessing the most advanced quantum computing chips. They also openly promote an exclusive and private club they started called “Executive Branch” with an annual membership fee of $500,000 per year that offers access to Washington officials. And then there’s all the sketchy merch ugly low quality sneakers, ugly low quality watches, worthless NFTs, memes coins etc that are made by mysterious anonymous hard-to trace entities actively attempting to conceal their identity and are being bought by mysterious buyers for absurdly exorbitant prices beyond This the most on-the-take president the world has ever seen from what was an advanced democracy1 point

I agree with you in wanting to see the country self-reliant with energy but that's not how we or our North American energy footprint has evolved. A West to East Coast pipeline would go a long way to that self-reliance but that really hasn't been a conversation that I'm aware of. Yep, we're going to using fossil fuels for a lot of years still but as time goes on it will be lesser and lesser which is all part of the investment decision companies look at. I'd love to be a fly on the wall listening to the conversations between government and private business around these type investments....1 point

Yes, you can have an international price, but again, if we produce oil and can refine it, we can have our own pricese , totally independent from the global markets. This will in fact help our currency appreciate.1 point

What "civilian" oil tankers are you talking about? The oil tankers that ask permission from Tehran to pass and are not associated with the USA/ Israel interests are let through. You have a bunch of arrogant b8tards bomb the hell out of a country , wiping out a school with hundreds of kids inside and you are talking some strange nonsense. They did not start this mess. They can shoot all over the place now for all I am concerned. If it was up to me to resolve the situation, I would ask USA and Israel to pull out immediately and pay reparations to Iran. Then the world can negotiate for the oil traffic to resume.1 point

It was first proposed in April of 2019. The project might start in 2028 and it might be completed by 2035, unless there are more environmental reviews or red tape that gets in the way.1 point

No, I didn't know that CBC supported higher prices for Canadian's. Gather they're not Canadian's, or just like paying more for stuff? Please explain how we 'hardly buy any oil'? Real curious of this one... Your fascination with CBC has you thinking stranger than you normally do. You have this opinion that everyone thinks similar to yourself and is as easily influenced. Lose your ignorant bias for a minute and try to understand that higher oil prices affect everyone....dems, republicans, independents, right, left and centre. Or do you think dems and libs don't get costs passed on to them? Why so much trouble understanding this.... It doesn't matter if we had oil pipelines running down every street in the country.... the price of oil would be the same as it is today. Try reading FFS... oil pricing is set globally and has jackshit to do with how much you're sitting on or can produce. China is still a developing country that is dependant on conventional fossil fuels for energy but leads the world in clean energy tech investment. To say they don't at all use green tech energy is factually false. Over a third of China's energy usage in 2025 was from clean tech sources. Read man, read....1 point

A carbon tax has zero to do with the price of oil. Why do you find it difficult to understand that oil pricing is set globally? You have an odd way of thinking if you believe the CBC has say one way or the other in what oil prices should be.... 1. CBC is a media organization. Who there is telling you that they want higher oil prices? 2. No, it's everyone's position and basic common sense that high energy costs affect everyone, especially those in a lower income category. Is that a revelation that you just learned with this spike in prices? 3. Yes oil prices were that high but gets real convoluted during and coming off the pandemic... Biden came in during covid which first saw oil absolutely tank in price then as the world economies started to dig themselves out and demand escalated. At the same time Russia decided to invade Ukraine which saw their oil off the market because of sanctions causing the price to escalate more. It was a big deal then and is a big deal now. I'd think twice about calling other people 'dummy' when you're talking about a climate activist supposedly controlling the 'lefts' thoughts. Your fascination with Trump is admirable. Laughable, but admirable in your defence of the guy...1 point

Everything plays a factor. It was 100% for sure that Trump was going to accomplish his main goal, despite whatever left4rds wanna say about that: Iran's nuclear program was going back to the stone age one way or another. Period. There's no way that a religious nutjob who had dedicated his life to committing genocide was going to be allowed to have a nuclear/ICBM arsenal. How they were going to go about that was the next challenge. The most human-friendly way was the option that he chose: eliminate Iran's flight, anti-aircraft and missile interception capabilities loiter, and eliminate everything that says IRGC on it with accurate, clinical strikes The fact that Iran's anti-air capabilities are so diminished means the US can take their time and use cheaper bombs to hit their targets. They don't need over-the-horizon weapons to hit targets that they could fly biplanes over if they still had them. Cheaper bombs can now be used. The warthogs are even in Iran now, and have been for about a week. To answer your question: the fact that Persians wanted to rise up and claim their nation back presented Trump with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so he's trying to take advantage of that. He's using extremely accurate, smaller bombs trying to squeeze the IRGC zits, instead of using "close enough" bombs that take off half the head. Hopefully by degrading the IRGC enough, that will give the Persian civilization the opportunity to come back and restore humanity. That's more of a cherry on top of the cake though. If the whole population of Iran was down with jihadi lunacy then a bunch of smoking holes would have been the final answer. Now you answer a question: whose side are you on? Are you just gonna regurgitate the ayatollah's propaganda to the end of your days now, no matter what happens in Iran, or is there a 1% chance that you could see an extinct ayatollah regime and a thriving Persian culture as a positive development? I'll be 100% honest with you: I can't imagine a scenario where you end up saying anything positive about Trump. I think that Iran could start planting roses instead of growing their capacity for committing genocide, and they could elect Hillary Clinton president, and the whole middle east could accept her as an empress, and the whole world could have peace parades every second Sunday, and you'd still hate Trump and call this a failure. I think you would write "But what about the school that Trump intentionally killed?" in your signature, and get it tattooed on your forehead. Am I right? (of course I am)1 point

Nonsense....Muammar Gaddafi had already relented on nuclear proliferation and made a deal in 2003. Actually, the west had already determined that Iranian nukes were unacceptable, long before Trump was ever president. Trump made the logical decision that expecting different results with the same 47 years of navel gazing was foolish. Chinese wages and standard of living is less than our NA standards.... you don't say. No sh*t Sherlock.... Yes it is about Canadian jobs. Whether it's Canada or the US we're not going to start producing every widget for our own consumption so let China do it. We'll produce what we're capable of that makes economic sense for those businesses that are invested in the given sector. No, the US hasn't said 'pick a side'. Have you conveniently forgot that immediately after the announcement Trump said "Good for Canada. If they can get a deal with China they should' or that China is the US's third largest trading partner and going there in the next while for more trade agreements? End of the day....f*ck Trump and his idea threats of what we should or shouldn't be doing. Again, you come across bigly as chicken little. Let people that know how to negotiate do that and agree to a deal when it;s the right deal for both countries.1 point
