  1. But think of the millions it's saved from autism and mind-control microchips.

  2. A good solid couple of decades of gas-lighting plus billions invested in doubting science certainly helped. Is it really any wonder so many people have given up being politically correct with the millions of stupid yahoos who've fallen for it?

  3. The more determined the Socreds are to keep Pierre, the more likely the grits will win the next election and get fifth term. A 20 point gap is a steep hill to climb. The fact that our Party is tied in the polls with the Liberals but the Pierre is so disliked, indicates he is the problem.

  4. From the article. Alberta is nearing 2,000 cases, which is more than what has been recorded in the entire United States. Canada can recover its measles-free status if it stifles transmission and follows corrective measures outlined by the Regional Verification Commission. This includes enhanced vaccination and surveillance efforts. Maybe Alberta's separation would hasten that day.

  5. You weren't alone. PP is a shrill little worm and has long been one of the least likeable members of Parliament, and that was the case 15 years ago and even more so today.

  6. Actually, the Libs would like an efficient helpful opposition but with PP all they get is constant stream of whining and complaining...no help in making things better. I have said numerous times, I wished Rona Ambrose stayed in politics and became the Conservative leader. She would have won...hands down. I abandoned the conservatives when PP became leader... I realized he was a problem way back when he was in Harpers cabinet.

  8. Canada officially loses its measles elimination status Canada has been stripped of its measles elimination status after failing to interrupt transmission within one year of an outbreak that continues to spread in parts of the country. The Public Health Agency of Canada said Monday it was notified by The Pan American Health Organization, a regional arm of the World Health Organization, that Canada lost its designation – an accomplishment it held for 27 years. “While transmission has slowed recently, the outbreak has persisted for over 12 months, primarily within under-vaccinated communities,” the statement said. … https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-canada-loses-measles-elimination-status/ Polio is next! Hooray for ignorance!

  9. Now that the leadership of Mr. Poilievre is coming to an end, we need to make some decisions for the Party. It is ironic that Pierre is experiencing the same slow erosion that Mr. Trudeau was expiencing a year ago. Mr. Poilievre has a 20 point support deficit against Prime Minister Carney, inspite of the Party tied in the polls with the grits. It is clear that Pierre and his Social Credit cult are dragging down the Party. Last winter, as soon as the Liberals removed Trudeau, Polievre's great lead in the polls dropped like a stone. No body likes Pierre. Not his caucus, not members of other parties and not the voters. The Party has a choice. We can either replace Pierre with a pragmatic Progressive Conservative before the election, or wait until after we loose yet, another election.

  11. Yes, PP was the problem....you guys make me laugh, the problem was the Liberal party that had power for the last 10 years.....you conveniently forgot about all of that and concentrated on the fact You don't like PP....But switched your vote to the party that burnt Canada to the ground almost....Ya lets bury those facts....Lets give them another chance because the have a such an outstanding record in history of throwing our country under the bus.... The only thing that changed is the liberal party has a banker as a leader , the rest of the nightmare is still there producing the same crap....only now you can point out the leader is a banker....who has said a lot in the past 7 months but produced squat...And now many other bankers and economists are saying Carneys plans is not a good one....

  15. One should have a Grade 8 knowledge of how Parliament works in Canada and some understanding of party politics. It's no wonder you're such a PP supporter when you think whining and complaining is the main factor in either. Traitors are the ones who want their idea to overthrow the way things work. Imbeciles are the ones who simple can't understand why their square peg doesn't fit in the round hole.

  16. I knew two devout Christians who turned to prayer instead of science upon their diagnosis with treatable cancers and they both died. I've also known atheists who similarly eschewed medical science and turned to dieting and mediation with the same results. The degradation of science and concurrent respectability for fantastical thinking in general today is shameful. I think a good deal of blame for this stems from the billions invested on doubting the science undergirding concerns about the climate and how we're rapidly changing it. False information is as key and dangerous a factor in why we're eschewing taking appropriate climate action as it was in the deaths of the people I knew. Simply put, ignorance kills.

  18. They were somewhat actually but they knew there was an election coming in less than a year. about the same time if she resigned and they called a by election and ran her again. So they took the 'political' win and she had to run again as a conservative a few months later. So.... elected in 2015 as a liberal, served almost all of her time with that party, crossed the floor in protest of specific actions, and then as soon as possible was back running for the cpc and won. This guy was eleected 6 months ago, left because he didn't get the speaker's seat to join a party and a leader he was saying was completely wrong and scum just a few months ago, and isn't scheduled to run again for almost 5 years. Yeah that's pretty much the same thing Thanks for showing up big guy

  19. I don't why OP's premise this issue as something bad. It is not. America is projected to have growing electricity demand because we are reindustrializing. From AI to Manufacturing. There will be a increased demand for power, a growing problem, a good problem.

  20. Disenfranchised women and restrict them from work through some pseudo religious islamic law. Subsidize a welfare system based on headcount. Orr subsidize child care where women can work and have children. Akin to the emergency medical system for ICU nurses and surgeon. Both system have data to support it’s effectiveness and is therefore robo proof.

  22. You are little more than the one of the most partisan yapping dogs on this forum. No, Wyoming is the most “right wing” state and their power is one of the most reliable. You just start with your premise of being such an obtuse partisan and then work backwards to try to ignorantly and/or dishonestly pound your responses to fit.

  24. The evidence that he should modify his style is considerable but he continues to resist it. Trump has transformed what we expect from the leader of the opposition. In a time of unprecedented national crisis, Poilievre has to be more careful about partisan attacks on the government

  32. A very good and honest write-up on Carney, and how he fails to meet the goals of Carney from six months ago. But here’s the problem. Better isn’t good enough, and Improvement Over Trudeau wasn’t the sales pitch. Carney set the standard by which he’ll be judged — he and his campaign went out of their way to raise the bar, turning an election about political change into an election about our existential survival. It worked. The Conservatives had no reply and just stood there slack jawed as their 20-point lead evaporated, taking their leader’s seat with it. But now Carney will actually be expected to clear that bar. Right now, he’s not — and it’s not even close. https://www.readtheline.ca/p/matt-gurney-the-carney-salvation

You're so triggered and upset that you run off to your echo chamber and try and dig up something that makes you feel better and then post it in its entirety without any commentary of your own in a spastic effort to make yourself feel better about your own bad choices And you wonder why people think you're a 15 year old. Honestly.

  36. That's just dumb. Poilievre is a solid conservative, With conservative ideas and a conservative background. Carney is a leftist freak who will say whatever he needs to to make money. They are not the same thing and carney is no conservative Pierre talks about conservative values at every single one of his talking events. Every single one. So if you haven't heard him talk about them then you haven't heard any of his speeches so maybe don't comment on them. His whole thing is that families should be able to work hard, study hard, and then have a good life for themselves for the decent home and a safe neighborhood and raise their kids. He's talked about the need to be strong on crime instead of catch and release which is definitely a conservative value and not a liberal one. Smaller gov't, less taxes, spending focused on core duties and less red tape. ALl conservative values. etc etc. It's pretty hard to sell the idea he doesn't talk about conservative values all the time

  39. First of all, most of Canada’s coal exports are metallurgical coal aka coking coal not thermal coal. Coking coal is a vital ingredient in steel manufacturing, it is not burned for energy generation like thermal coal. Second of all, there is only one province in Canada (Saskatchewan) that still burns coal for energy. Even pollution-loving right wing wanna-be America province of Alberta has transitioned off of it. Certainly no political leaders are encouraging anyone to burn MORE coal, unlike Republicans and coal state politicians. Several Canadian provinces including the 3 largest produce virtually all or at least most of their energy free from any fossil fuel emissions and most have roadmaps to increase the percentage Third, ICYMI the article is not focusing on the environment, it’s on skyrocketing US electricity prices and its decrepit energy grid. By comparison the electricity prices in Canada especially Quebec are significantly lower than USA because Canadian grids are more modern and well managed unlike America’s. That’s why USA depends on Canadian aluminum from Quebec and can’t produce its own at scale The tariffs just mean Americans will be paying more for their products that contain aluminum, much of it from Canada
    1 point
  40. What’s not mentioned in the article is Trump’s aluminum tariffs, allegedly to increase US aluminum production Aluminum manufacturing is even more energy intensive than AI and quantum computing, there’s zero chance that America’s patchwork of decrepit, obsolete, highly fragmented and highly privatized can possibly deliver. Americans and the rest of the world still think of USA as this big shiny utopia but in so many ways its infrastructure and society are weak and crumbling before our eyes. It’t might still have a rep as the heavyweight champion of the world, but it’s not Muhammad Ali in his Prime, It’s Mohammad Ali after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. It’s been several decades in the making and all political parties at all levels of government are to blame, as is American society in general. .

  41. I'm sure this is mentioned in other threads, but I don't see a thread ABOUT it. This is obviously a troll job. Getting Canadians all worked up. Now he can take credit for JT's resignation. But why does everything this guy talk about have to be taken seriously. Is he going to annex Canada? Make us a singular state? Or treat us fairly and admit each province as their own sub-sovereign territory. PEI gets a congressman and two senators? Quebec can form their own alternative party to screw with their two-party system? We know he hasn't thought this through. It's just rhetoric. But I know this site is full of people that support Trump. What do you think the end-game here is? And if you are taking this seriously, how does this get done?
