  1. It's weird that left4rds suddenly care about cancelled energy projects, and the cost of energy. You'd almost think this has more to do with "cultists looking for a reason to puss and moan about Trump".

  2. I'm very aware of the fact that you can represent yourself in court... but it's a bad idea . Anyone who represents themselves has a fool for a client. This is almost comical, you (like most of us) have no idea how much you don't know in a situation like this... and you're advocating for defending yourself against a prosecutor who actually does know stuff. I sincerely hope no one on the fence listens to a word of your nonsense. Down vote that fool...

  3. I stand in awe... PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: please be advised that the stupidity on display here can ruin your day, If you're on the fence, please ignore nonsense partisan posts, buy the book or do your own research. Not only do you need a lawyer, you need that lawyer before giving a statement on fight night IMO. As I recall, you can't have them present in an interrogation but you can consult with one prior to it. It would be a mistake to think you are simply having a pleasant conversation with the responding officers. Many people have firearm legal insurance (a group retainer sort of thing) that allows 24/7 access by phone. Your milage may vary but I would talk to them before giving any statement. I would also want to avoid giving one while I was shaken (or perhaps injured) and in a state of shock.

  5. I was under no illusion Biden was too old to be POTUS. The fact that the US picked these two walking corpses to lead them makes me question their judgement.

  8. As I tell raw food per enthusiasts: Cooking meat is recognized as one of the biggest evolutionary steps in boosting human brain development. Are you afraid your dog will get smarter than you? Some people are scared too much reading will make their kids smarter than they are. And that is true in their case.

  10. And a Judge and jury is the proper form of interpretation, not Joe Blow or some politician begging for votes. If they ever approve blowing away some guy for trying to carry off your TV that will set a precedent. Same as when they actually jail someone over self defence that does too.

  14. And hammers don't pound in nails, they just ENABLE people to pound in nails which is something they'd not be able to do (at least not as well) without a hammer of SOME KIND. When people say guns kill people, they mean the guns ENABLE the MORE EFFICIENT MASS SLAUGHTER. AKA MORE PEOPLE DIE. Those are the people killed by GUNS who would not die without the GUN. Duh But of course that does not FIT YOUR AGENDA, so you BLATANTLY IGNORE THAT FACT.

  19. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries Biden's presidency was plagued by the aftermath of COVID. The uninformed US population blamed him for the inflation COVID caused. It's so ironic because Trump is about to cause inflation to explode. You say that with a straight face when you can see that Trump is an unfocused doddered that writes like he's in 3rd grade.

  22. Maybe the law was adequate in the days we weren't jammed with foreigners from the more violent parts of the world due to the Liberals, the laws were slack with fast parole, especially for brown people (who happen to make up most of the violent criminals), the judiciary almost entirely made up of social justice warriors appointed by the Liberals, and almost instant bail due to... the Liberals.

  26. Yeah, for a guy who's done nothing but politics his whole life he showed a remarkable lack of political instinct and a huge misunderstanding of Canada. The Cons should do Canada a favour and ditch him.

  27. Trump could not have achieved a second term without the stratospheric buffoonery of Democrats.... and on multiple fronts simultaneously. Some folks (even right here on the forum) have repeatedly warned about the predictable backlash that would occur if total madness was allowed to breed and prosper unchecked by reality and common sense.

  30. And that's the goal, destroy them economically. You're american so you may not have heard of this one but one of the more famous cases in Canada (but by no means the only one) was the Ian Thompson case, were 4 nutbar neighbours with long histories came to his house to burn it down with him in it. He opens his gun safe takes out a revolver (very important) and then goes out and fires 3 warning rounds (nobody hit) into the ground and they run off and he calls the cops and starts to put out the fire. All of this was on his home security cameras btw THey arrest him and claim unsafe storage of firearms (we have strict rules). But the case was full of the most ridiculous nonsense in legal history They claimed it was PHYSICALY IMPOSSIBLE for him to get his gun out that fast. They submitted videos of him reenacting it and easily getting his gun out that fast. They still insisted it wasn't. They claimed he tried to cover up his crime because he must have picked up the brass after he fired the rounds, showing that he was trying to hide the rounds ejected by his gun. He pointed out his gun was a REVOLVER and doesn't eject rounds and the prosecutor said he was lying and that revolvers DO eject rounds as they're fired so he MUST Have picked them up. . I'm not even making this up. Canadian gun owners rallied around the guy and we all donated to his defense and in the end he won, but it cost an absolute fortune and they pulled every dirty trick to drag it out until the absolute very end. Ontario man acquitted of charges in home attack says case sets self defence precedent

  35. This is something we see from the left more and more. I mean sure, exflyer is a severe case where he posts really stupid examples but all over you see left wing posters stretching farther and farther to try to somehow make it seem like the conservatives are as bad as the libs. It's almost desperation. Exflyer posted a list the other day and it's quite obvious that he lifted it from some left wing site, and there was like 20 "conservative" scandals that supposedly occurred under harper and he demanded ... DEMANDED that ANYONE prove that even ONE!!! JUST ONE!!! of them were not true. I very quickly proved one of them was not true (like the first one i grabbed) and provided several sources that anyone could have found which proved very conclusively it wasn't true. Several of the others were the same at a glacé. Yet someone out there is obviously insisting this crap is true. That and there's an insane number of lefties who want us to dump PP, "Not because they care but for our own good you see". As if they're deeply concerned about wanting us to do well next election.

  38. No, it isn't. The fact you think it is reaffirms why we should have a look at the current laws and any Crown tendencies toward overly harsh prosecutorial actions after the fact. A situation like this might just qualify as the worst experience of someone's life and I think we need to cut them a bit of slack. Ya... your milage may vary but the point is most people aren't as smart as you. As to the drama, there will be at least 3 cars there and the place will be lit up like Christmas. If you are a normal human being you will be shaky and almost certainly ill prepared for in-depth questioning by people who appear to be on your side but aren't necessarily. They will try to get information from you through elicitation (check that out).... it's a deliberate technique and you should watch for it. In any case, you do you... but I'd suggest that spilling your guts at the scene is likely to make your situation much worse than if you had waited and consulted a lawyer before giving a statement. You should expect to be charged because you (vey likely) will be as a matter of course, that's what this discussion is about and it's gone completely off the rails in an unhinged manner. In all cases your actions need to reasonable and measured... what would a reasonable person have done if they were in your situation? If you're older and infirm in any way that becomes a mitigating factor in the use of force. If a person comes at you with their fists you can hit him with the bat, you don't need to box with him... you can't hit him 75 times with it though because that's unreasonable. If a person armed with a crossbow appears about to use it you can use lethal force...you can't shoot him 10 times and appear reasonable though.... and you can't stab him 75 times after he stops moving either. Your sarcasm ends our conversation at this point, I'm not going to spar with you. I'm simply assuming you are a normal person facing a life threatening confrontation (perhaps) for the first time... but heh, maybe you're a ringer. The point is most people aren't: surprise, pain and violence of action tends to rattle them and they don't make the best decisions under that sort of pressure. I think they deserve to be cut some slack on the worst day of their lives... by hey, I'm a MAGAT, right Flybaby?

  39. Actually he (Poilievre ) makes sense in this case....two troubled friends had a disagreement, and one of them broke into the others home with a cross bow which is a weapon according to law...........I'm sure the liberals will try and make it sound like he was showing off his new acquisition to his new best friend... ...to the rest of the world he broke into some one home with a cross bow, meaning to do harm to that other fella....and for his efforts he paid a price....WHY IS THAT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND... If you had your home broken into then you would understand....to most people things are things take what you want, keep in mind i work hard for my stuff, and i would like to keep it, but nothing i own is worth someone life...except my dog, i will hurt you if you harm my dog.......where i draw the line is my family, i will warn you i am armed and have called the police, but if you continue towards me or my family they are going to be dragging you out in a bag... your getting it all In Canada you can't do that at any time...you will be arrested the cops don't care about your story....THATS FOR THE COURTS TO DECIDE.....and our justice system is not all that fast, so you will spend a long time behind bars with some of the best Canadians IN YOUR PRIOVINCE OR SO THEY SAY.......hope your not depending on a pay check to pay your bills, they don't care, so you will loose everything your house, your job, because some wing nut want your stuff...might as well put your stuff out on the front lawn.... What is relevant here is you should not have to lose your net worth defending yourself because some wing nut wanted some of your stuff...if you watched some of those forceable entries from break ins recorded from ring cams from Ont, they are scary...you don't know there intentions, but most of them have a firearm....why is that ? is it to protect them from you, or do they intend to do you and family harm...by the time you dig your firearm out of the safe, load ammo, they will have closed the distance between them and you...you will have mere seconds to make a decision fire your loaded weapon or face what ever violence they were planning upon your family... DONT ever think the law is on your side here....your fired a loaded weapon in a residential district, your going to jail...and if you killed your attackers your charged with taking a life...most Canadians can't afford bail for taking a life...so get use to your cell...and the courts are back logged....

  40. Sorry but that's bullshit. The law may allow for it but currrently depending on the province you will be destroyed financially and emotionally as you spend your entire life's saving defending yourself in court. And expecting people to wake up and experience the fear and terror of a violent home invasion with a person armed with a weapon to stop and rationally think "Hmm, whats a reasonable amount of force to use here" is insane. So what we have now is a circumstance where the home owner must PROVE he was reasonable in his defense. What they're proposing is that the court should have to PROVE the defense was completely unreasonable before charges are laid, and that the burden of 'unreasonable' should be high, thus preventing someone who defends his home from unreasonable and unfair charges that destroy his life So they understand the current law just fine. As always you're a lying sack of shit. Well done.

  45. This is dumb. Either they should have been recognized as a state on their own merits or not. Such things should not be a matter of a threat or leverage against Israel. Either way, it is dumb. Which state did they recognize? Was it Hamas in Gaza or the folks in the West Bank? The whole thing is a dumb joke.
