Happy Easter everyone. I sit here in reflection today. On this Easter weekend, one more kid is leaving our nest. They're all adults now. Soon "Wifey-Baby" and I will be alone in our family home. I watch them today and find I'm content. The kids are respectful, honorable, and we've given them a good head start. Yes..."Wifey-Baby" and I have raised our family well. They will be producers...not drains. And they will be successful. So I will thank the Gawd of the living. Yeah, it's a double-edged sword. Some reporters are worse than others. One thing I have to give Rebel over some of the less sensationalist indie media is the fact that they are able to get people on the ground to cover some of these stories. It's more than a podcast. They are always out on the street. They cover international stories. Their reporters have been attacked. I remember one of them having urine thrown at her. Alexa Lavoie was pepper sprayed with convoy protestors. They had people going out and filming at Roxham Road years before I ever heard mention of it on mainstream TV or in parliament. I am really grateful for how they have stood by people facing draconian charges. Overall I really appreciate what Ezra has done. So much. I think Canada is lucky to have Ezra and those rebel reporters. Nobody else is in Canada is willing to do what they do.

Rebel makes no pretense about being unbiased. It's no secret sometimes they are sensational. While I don't agree with the arrests on Menzies, he does go a little overboard in some situations. That said, since Rebel has existed, I have seen many instances where they have reported on something that the regular media ignores, until months or even years later when they are forced to do so. No one who watches only mainstream media knew about Roxham road until years after Rebel was reporting about it.

This is it exactly. The Independent Media is an absolutely critical part of thriving democracy. They will frequently ask questions that the mainstream media sources will not and over the years that has led to some rather startling revelations. If they only ask questions and nobody wants to hear then they won't stay in business. and they won't stay in business echoing what the mainstream is asking. I remember the same day CBC reported that the convoy was responsible for arson, Rebel News made a simple call to the RCMP and verified that it was false and they did not suspect the convoy was involved. I voted yesterday and I brought 2 friends with me who have never voted before. But I've been trying to educate them on politics for months now. We all voted Conservative. Then we went for breakfast. We went as soon as the polling station opened and there was no line up, but there was lots of people already there. I had an interesting discussion with my neighbour on Friday night. (I had a little bonfire in the backyard with friends.) My neighbour, Phil, is about 80 and he has NDP signs on his lawn. He said he has voted Liberal in the past (and sometimes NDP) but he won't vote Lib this time because he feels this gov't totally forgot about and ignored the West for the last 10 years. Phil used to be a nurse and he said the pandemic restrictions went on far too long, long after we knew it was only the very elderly and the very ill who were at any risk. He said it didn't surprise him when the convoy happened because the Liberals were catering to the laptop class for far longer than necessary. The laptop class was able to "stay home, stay safe" while the people they looked down on, the peons, delivered Skip The Dishes to them and delivered groceries. He describes the laptop class as mostly Ontario, while the West has the farmers, the oilfield workers, the ones working to keep the country running and the Liberal gov't shat on all those people. I asked him how we can get Ontarians to care about the rest of Canada and he said they never will. They never have. He said the only thing we can do is turn off the equalization taps. Stop giving the laptop class the money that the real workers in Canada are forced to fork over. Even though we are voting differently, I agree with Phil on these things.
