That's what you guys said about covid science too, and now even the NYT admits that it was all bought and paid for. "Someone lied to one of our reporters and we ended up ignoring the truth for 3 years 😭". All you guys say is "So what? We don't talk about covid anymore!" but just remember that your "covid science" is now proven to be "100% false". Your "climate science", in a nutshell: ignores the leading experts in the field while focusing heavily on wealthy climate hypocrites is predicated almost entirely on misrepresenting the overall level of consensus in the field by citing the results of one single study where nearly half of the researchers offered no opinion at all on climate change includes all the biggest liars of the political world (Dems, LPOC...) is funded by energy-starved China in order to drive their green energy businesses and sell their expensive batteries. The Dems and LPOC can commit scandal after scandal, force kids to take dangerous pseudovaxes, destroy the economy, start proxy wars and waste hundreds of billions of dollars on them, and all they need to do to win your vote is say "The sky is falling!". FYI it was only 16,000 years ago that there was ice 3km thick in North America. Grouse Mountain is only 1.2km high... Glaciers have been receding this whole time. Not only have the Chinese duped all of you wee fools into killing domestic energy in your own country, now they have you attacking our own green energy companies 😂 What evidence do you actually have that you're not all just President Xi's useful id10ts? And just remember that, as you give your answer, there are leading experts in the field of climatology who are entirely convinced that you are wrong, and they are willing to show their faces and give their names along with those assertions... They're not just "random, anonymous people who were included in a study".3 points

No wonder Albertan's feel the way they do. Alberta is irrelevant except when they have to fork over all those billions for equalization payments right?2 points

I think he honestly believes that this will force car manufacturers to move back to the united states. But that's not how it's likely to play out, and this will cause a lot of damage to his economy. If the US doesn't radically change course in about 2 months then a recession will likely be inevitable and that's going to put a lot of pressure on the republicans come the midterms.2 points

Yup. Trump turned out to be the Liberal's best friend. Canadian MAGA hats will still worship him.2 points

Its all a ruse anyhow. The "west" is just outsourcing its pollution to China and other countries. They get to brag about reductions in emissions, but the reality is that all they did was push production to other countries like China that doesn't care. Just like the stupidity of Biden attacking oil production in America while begging Venezuela for oil instead.1 point

I'm not sure anyone is that dumb. He's out to deliberately hurt average Americans. BBC US President Donald Trump has announced new import taxes of 25% on cars and car parts coming into the US in a move that threatens to widen the global trade war. Trump said the latest tariffs would come into effect on 2 April, with charges on businesses importing vehicles starting the next day. Charges on parts are set to start in May or later. The president claimed the measure would lead to "tremendous growth" for the car industry, promising it would spur jobs and investment in the US. But analysts have said the move is likely to lead to the temporary shutdown of significant car production in the US, increase prices, and strain relations with allies.1 point

In the 2000's they showed us the way to really reduce emissions is to crash the economy.1 point

Dude, read the memo. This debate over man-made climate change is over. The fossil fuel industry knew the truth decades ago and the science is in. Now the smarter anthracophiles focus on the politics of how much carbon we can get away with burning and on what China is doing.1 point

"Carney says he will double the Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program from $5 billion to $10 billion. Only catch is it cannot be invested in oil and gas. That shows you he will attack oil and gas if elected." Letters, March 27: Carney shows he'll attack oil and gas industry Sounds like Carney is much like Guilbeault, just that he didn't climb the CN Tower.1 point

So what you're saying is you're very comfortable making up something I never said and then arguing against that because you can't cope with the truth. Fair enough I understand. And considering that you are the guy who spent 10 pages arguing that 100% - 50% isn't 50% I dare say that economies and economics are beyond your skill set And once again you can't actually address the points of the issue. and become belligerent Gee you're not proving my point or anything are you This from the guy who does nothing but follow me around on this forum and try and pick fights at random and then loses them but I can certainly understand why you want to try and change the subject. Perhaps you'd care to blame my post size, or how frequently I post? Those are the usual reasons you give for why you said something stupid1 point

She just happened to be a vastly better option than her opponent. And, as you refuse to acknowledge for purely partisan reasons, the economy was strong under Biden--the envy of the world--and dramatically better than the mess he inherited from Trump. I guess because you don't like trans people (or whatever) you have to pretend it was a bad economy. Doesn't make sense to me, but you persist.1 point

Coming from the guy saying the economics doctorate isn't an economist, I'm pretty comfortable where I land in comparison to you on what the word "facts" means. Thanks for the laugh about belligerence though. Your projection is showing again. How many internet fights are you getting yourself into today? 🤡1 point

The asleeptard tells us he has no problem paying an extra $12,000 (based on avg sale price) for a car and how that will help Joe Average's finances. The parade of states falling over each other with incentives and Right To Scab legislation. a complete lack of small fuel efficient cars will be 'good for America". This has got to be the epitome of 'cutting off your own nose to spite your face' ever and the dupes are here cheering it on.1 point

There’s an entire global network of elites—scientists, governments, media moguls, and even space agencies—working tirelessly to maintain the lie that the Earth is round. This isn’t just a mistake; it’s a deliberate effort to keep people under control and distracted from the truth. These powers are using propaganda to manipulate the masses and hide the real nature of our world. The space agencies, especially NASA, are the biggest culprits. They’re behind the so-called "space missions"—Apollo, Mars rovers, you name it. It’s all fake. The moon landing? Totally staged. The photos from space? Photoshopped, every single one of them. They manufacture evidence to make it seem like we live on a spinning globe, but the reality is, the Earth is flat. It’s a flat plane, and all the "images" from space are part of the illusion. Governments are in on it too. They have a massive interest in keeping this truth suppressed because, if people knew the Earth was flat, everything would change. How? Think about it: new geography, new science, and the real reason why Antarctica is off-limits. It’s all connected. They can’t let us question the fundamental structure of the world because that would lead to massive upheaval. And then there’s the media—movies, TV shows, books. They reinforce the globe narrative with every opportunity they get. Take any blockbuster movie, and you’ll notice the subtle nods to the "round" Earth. They’ve been pushing this agenda for centuries, making it look like the idea of a flat Earth is something of the past, when in fact, it’s the real truth. So, yeah, the round Earth narrative is one huge global conspiracy. They want you to trust their "facts" and look at the world through their lens. But don’t be fooled! The Earth is flat, and the powers that be are doing everything in their power to keep you from realizing it.1 point

Sure. Snake oil peddlers have been successful throughout recorded history. Soothsayers and the like lived very good lives and made lots of money But as intelligent and rational people it's important to recognize that and set it aside, and take a look at what the actual known facts and research says. And it's very telling that despite having numerous people on this forum ask for the research not one person on the left has been able to produce a single research paper that actually shows that climate change is a crisis or that anything Canada could possibly do by lowering emissions would have any noticeable or significant impact at all. I'm entirely prepared to believe that mankind is changing the climate, there's a whole lot of us and we do a lot of crap. So it's believable. But I have seen nothing that suggests that it's some species of out of control crisis or that we wouldn't be better off in the short term adopting and looking for long-term solutions as the technology presents itself Hey there is a massive ton of evidence to suggest that anyone who thought that you could tax climate change away isn't serious about the issue1 point

We don't actually know because he won't disclose yet, and that doesn't account for various pensions and positions or assets held in various trust or venture firms. But either way there's no doubt he controlled and spent billions. He green lit the 250 million dollar loan to musk alone in 2022. The same year he got a ... wait for it... 250 million dollar loan from china while attending on behalf of the liberal gov't a the taxpayer's expense.1 point

This is important to note. One of the hallmarks of science and it's measure of success for any of it's works is the ability to make accurate predictions. General relativity for example is noted for having made a huge number of very specific predictions which turned out to be true even tho it took many decades to prove it. It's stunningly accurate. However climate change models are NOT accurate in their ability to predict even how things will be one or two years from now. And the models produce "possible" outcomes with absolutely massive variances. It's so inaccurate and unreliable at this point that it's really hard to even call it 'science' except in the most general sense.1 point

IF they hadn't looped Jeffrey Goldberg in, NO ONE would have heard about this major clusterfark. And Hegseth would not have needed to tell all his LIES about "nothing classified" when so many people know that impending military ops are ALWAYS CLASSIFIED. But what about Jeffery Goldbloom? Let’s not add to the typos here: Jamieson Greer; Jeffrey Goldberg. Actor Jeffrey Goldblum has nothing to do with this story.1 point

Has anyone mentioned the gaffe a few weeks ago, when Carney insisted that Canada supplies the United States most of its semi conductors, and then had to admit the next day that that was completely wrong? It’s actually a tiny fraction.1 point

Oh believe me, he is that stupid. Billionaires don't blink an eye paying an extra $10-$30,000 fora car. Work an extra few minutes. What's more likely, they interrupt their whole process and start building new US plants that won't open for 5-6 years, or they'll hike the price of American built cars to cover the tariffs on others until the m0ron is gone from office?1 point

For the Lib supporters here, honest question: What about the last 10 years has been so utterly fabulous FOR CANADIANS AS A WHOLE, NOT JUST ONE AREA OF CANADA, that you want more of it? I mean, our resources have been squandered to the point the US is bullying us, Trudeau invested all our money into EV's and battery plants that have mostly fled with our money, tent cities everywhere, drug epidemics, violent criminals and pedophiles let out into our streets, the longest list of insider trading and ethical violations, government waste was off the charts....it's endless the amount of scandals and during it all, the Libs focus was getting tampons into men's bathrooms. I mean, holy crap, even they admit they boffed immigration, they boffed housing, they boffed the economy. These are basic things, people. And all of them running for leadership said "Ya, we weren't listening to Canadians, but we're going to now." Holy crap! How is that an epiphany in a DEMOCRACY? What about any of this says, "We need lots and lots more of everything we've gotten for the last 10 years."1 point
