I am not even sure Trump knows what his game is. He has gone back and forth so much. I wonder if he is consulting a Magic 8 Ball with regard to whether or not to implement tariffs.2 points

Lmao.. oh noes...the left wing propaganda wing doesn't like Trump. Oh forlorn! What ever shall we do? (Too much? No?) Oh what shall we ever do? All is lost! Our whole world is asunder! (Too far yet?) Gone are the days of our prosperity! Our children will never be able to look us in the eye! Our grandparents have lost their spot in heaven and have descended into hell? Saturday Night Live will never be funny again! Ok. Let's talk about reality now. I'm sorry, but your fantasy world is just a fantasy. What you quoted above is called the wrap up smear. First, you create a narrative. Then you get the narrative out to the media. Then you pin the narrative on the politician in the wrap up. That is the fantasy/lie you just quoted. Reality: 76% of America like Trump's speech. Nearly 80% like cutting government waste, fraud and abuse as well as closing the border and keeping boys out of girls sports. All of your ideals and ideology is being rejected by America. Ninety percent of counties moved to the right in the last election. You are not consequential any more. You just aren't. Make all the accusations you want. Publish all the opinions you like. All that is doing is showing Americans that the left is for illegal immigration, for women being suppressed in sports, for waste, fraud and abuse in government. You are on a losing path and I desperately hope you keep it up.2 points

He suspended aid to Ukraine! He voted against them at the UN! He ambushed Zelenskyy in the Oval Office! He says Putin’s word is good! He wants to give Russia everything it wants! Trump has bailed on the western world and democracy and if you don’t see that you are blind.2 points

I've been re-thinking my feelings towards our American neighbours. I found the booing of the US national anthem very disturbing. We are going to have a difficult time for the next few years, but so are the Americans. While President Trump is woefully ill equipped for the role, he was democratically elected and he will be out of office in 204 weeks, 4 days, 17 hours and 12 minutes. (Give or take, depending on how soon I post this). We need to focus on making the recovery when it is over as painless as possible. While tensions are strained, Americans need to know that what ever happens, when they need us, we will be there for them. We have invested decades into building an incredible bond. We cannot let their current difficulties damage that. They are going through a troubled time and we are here for them more than ever.1 point

canada has been pretty firm that all of our tariffs stay on until all of the American tariffs are gone. To be honest regardless of the pain I think we should be ratcheting it up. I think we should put 100% export tariffs on every energy source and if it results in layoffs then we have to pay those workers unemployment until the situation is resolved however long that is. The fact is trump has midterms coming up. If the American economy is suffering and inflation is up and business investment is down then a lot of people may consider voting for the democrats. Almost all of the seats in the upcoming midterms are currently republican, if they manage to flip even 15 of them there will be enough democrats in the senate to impeach trump and make it stick. Trump cannot afford to go into the next midterms with a crippled economy and angry population. We should be capitalizing on that and hurting him every single way that we can to drive up outrage as to his actions1 point

Nominally, yes, and I'm sure that helps you wrap yourself in your comfy Trumpian fantasy. Relatively speaking, adjusted for inflation and GDP growth, federal revenue is down, while expenses have grown with a growing (and aging) population. Four years from now, when the tax cuts have blown up US deficits further, when the goofy tariffs don't pay for anything and Elon's clown parade at DOGE don't deliver anywhere near the cuts they say they will, you'll still be blaming Biden! 🤣1 point

It doesn't benefit us - it doesn't even benefit leftoids, but they're too woke to see it. Left-wingers remind me of those degenerate doctors in the movie Alien Resurrection. You know, the extra stupid one who's cocooned, but still gushing over the abomination alien standing over Ripley until it comes over and kills him. It's a similar situation with today's leftoids and illegal aliens.1 point

If anything, we're too 'accommodating'. You can't go to an islamic culture and denigrate islam or mohammed. You can't denigrate Chinese culture in China, etc. But it's almost like there's an "I hate white people/Christianity Olympics" going on here sometimes, and people who don't throw shade are flawed. Part of being a liberal is viewing history through a prism where all the sins of other races and cultures are blurred out and only white people ever owned slaves, conquered territory, discriminated, etc. It's a fact that there are millions of people - who were educated in North America - who believe that white people invented slavery, and were never victims of it.1 point

Liberals are socially engineering the genocide of White Canadians and calling them Nazis for noticing while they do it. Radical demographic change is a far greater existential threat to the stability of the country than climate change. CBC has no interest in platforming an honest examination or debate on these issues. Where is the data on interracial violence and rape and those trends? I have no reason to believe this government & media wouldn't cover up racialized grooming/rape gangs like with what happened in the UK and across Europe now.1 point

Anything about the situation Canada is in. If thr Premiers of the Provinces can go to the US to lobby their positions, why can the leader of the opposition and potential next prime minister not go? Even Trump knows Trudeau is gone and that the next PM is an interim measure. 'Yup...axe the tax...axe the tax and more axe the tax. LOL I wish he would become more "Prime Ministerial". I am not a Carney fan but PP has to work harder to convince us he is the prime minister of choice, not by default. You are right, it is not the "posh world of banking" but it is certainly the complicated world of national economics.1 point

Please explain what response has been very good...Lets take a look at what brought us here in the first place, our weaken economy, lack of any leadership,we really don't have a Pm right now.... the fact trump loves justin (sarcasm), weak border, weak policing, weak security including our military, liberal corruption, and the list goes on for pages....and now you want to pat him on the back because he has shown a little back bone...Sure to be honest i did not think justin had it in him....At a boy...now where is the election...1 point

And the PM’s response has been very good. He seems to be quite good at handling a crisis, but not so good at normal, everyday governance.1 point

Yes, Trump tore up his own agreement so there is no point in negotiating with the guy because he won't keep his word anyway. Trudeau has said Canada will not be removing any tariffs until Trump removes all of his. You can be damn sure that he has discussed this with both Carney and Freeland.1 point

Look, Trump aligns with Russia's vision. Even the Kremlin says so. Trump is the gift that keeps on giving - to Russia. “The new administration is rapidly changing all foreign policy configurations,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, state television reported Sunday. “This largely aligns with our vision.” Former president Dmitry Medvedev gloated over the “proper slap down” of “the insolent pig” Zelensky, and Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova marveled at Trump and Vance’s “restraint” in not punching him in the face. Zelensky’s “outrageously boorish behavior,” she wrote, “confirmed that he is the most dangerous threat to the world community.” The meeting fit Russia’s narrative perfectly, Konstantin Remchukov, the well-connected editor of Nezavisimaya Gazeta, told The Washington Post. “We don’t even have to step in — we can just retransmit what the Americans are saying,” Remchukov said.1 point

Like taking credit for solving the 2008 financial crises, or stating Canada is the number 1 country for manufacturing microchips, or telling Canadians he was not in charge of moving brookfields HQ to the US, there is so many he got his own meme on U tube... And while he has many years to catch up to Justins lies and scandals i personal think they are the same person.... And it is your vote, to be honest use it anyway you want....I'm throwing mine at the conservatives because i think they are the best platform out there right now, and Canadians and me personally are tired of the liberal party right now, their flip flopping is telling that they really don't have an original platform that Canadians are searching for, but rather are sticking to what is popular to get reelected, with liberal Candidates throwing each other under the bus, it's sad really...........like axing the tax...scrapping the carbon tax one that they literally built all their election promises around, even declared a climate crises... Our nation is under attack, and they are receiving a huge boost for that, but they are really not taking advantage of that...Freeland stated we should use British nukes to defend Canada, how is that an example of critical thinking, Thats grasping at straws....the rest of them are just as bad...with Carney spewing out lies everyday....at least the others have been somewhat trueful.1 point

This is the liberals shiny knight armor....see 3.15 minutes of the below NDP video...While he sat as chair, he was avoiding paying Canadian taxes, infact brookfield was Canada's number one tax dodger....he placed his role as chair over his country....Is this the guy we want running the country ?1 point

He has publicly berated Zelensky and has cut off all aid and intelligence to Ukraine. That is not the action of a mediator, it is a bully trying to impose his will by intentionally weakening one side and putting it's citizens in danger, which also happens to be Putin's.1 point

Hmm who is falsely claiming fentanyl is a pouring over the border from Canada? Who is falsely claiming US banks are banned from Canada? 2020 election lies? Obama’s Kenyan birth lie? Saddam’s WMD lie? There are literally tens of thousands of false claims from Republicans like this. Trump and his minions and mouthpieces are by far the most prolific liars in western politics since 1945 Case in point1 point

You didn't explain anything of the sort. European troops positioned in Ukraine would be a European security guarantee, and have nothing to do with US mineral rights in Ukraine. It's telling that you frame it like that. You understand it was dumb/wrong, but you minimize it as if it doesn't matter. In reality, this is a huge propaganda win for Putin, one that will be played and replayed in Russia for as long as this war goes on. It wasn't just a dumb accident. Why would Putin tell Trump to pound sand? Everything Trump's done so far has helped him. Trump gift-wrapped an enormous moral and propaganda victory, legitimizing his actions on the world stage while at the same time yanking the support Ukraine needs to stand up to him. Putin couldn't have a better friend than that! 🤣👌1 point

No surprise, I disagree. It's not necessarily hostility to express concerns about something, whether it's the transgender agenda or violence from a certain religion. It should not be considered a crime either, unless they cross the line by calling for violence.1 point

This mom was arrested because she posted her opinion on the transgender agenda. She is Catholic and an easy target. I have my doubts that they would charge a Muslim for posting a similar opinion. https://ewtn.co.uk/article-uk-social-media-arrest-one-minute-catholic-mom-was-roasting-chicken-the-next-she-was-off-to-jail/ https://www.theregister.com/2016/06/02/social_media_arrests_up_37pc_london_section_127_communications_act/ In Germany one can be arrested for insulting a politician. https://nypost.com/2025/02/21/world-news/germans-cant-insult-politicians-which-is-why-we-need-to-protect-free-speech-in-the-us/1 point

I first started noticing the politicization of the CBC in the mid 2000's. At some point leading up to the Harper days, I remember it getting scolded by the Ombudsman for left-leaning bias. I can't find articles for it that far back, but it's been a slow-burn. It's not just leadership either. Over time, the leadership influences hiring and that culture ends up taking root top-down and bottom-up. You end up with a lack of diversity of viewpoints. In today's age, despite its bias, I'd still consider the CBC "moderate" compared to corporate shills like the Toronto Star or the National Post, but I'm not paying taxes to support the other two. I can just ignore them. When you see the former CEO battling it out in public with Pierre Poilievre, you get a clear perspective of its priorities. It's tough to maintain objectivity when you're being attacked, but as a publicly-funded broadcaster, your job is to show Canadians your value, not attack political opponents. Almost nobody does anymore.1 point

They have always had the military might to do that. Invading an ally neighbour would destroy whatever reputation the US has left but I don't know that Trump and MAGA's care. User laughs it off but it isn't his country's sovereignty and he stands to lose nothing if it isn't a joke, so why should cut him any slack when he just justifies anything that comes out of Trump's mouth, regardless of how big the lie or insulting it is. Americans need to understand that we do not consider this a joke and neither would they if the shoe was on the other foot and a nation much stronger than them was making comments about taking them over. What would it take for you to fight?1 point
