Reuters: Trump administration disbands task force targeting Russian oligarchs To drop all pretenses and keep no illusions: this is material, de facto help to the worst criminal aggressor in Europe since Hitler. Hidden behind the barrage of chaos: but no one can claim just an innocent coincidence. It has begun. Ask yourselves: if Vlad's buddies or/and puppets will come to control America, would it stop in Ukraine? Where would this world end, and we aren't even talking global warming next century but in several years (1933 - 1939)? The Republicans who acquitted the criminal are either quislings or traitors. No innocence, a century on and in such matters. They completely and cheerfully abandoned their constitutional duty to the country and the people and will be despised and regarded with dismay and contempt by generations. No coming back from this shame. The regular folk who fooled themselves into showing or making a point to someone somewhere repeated the same mistake as those in 1933 Germany. No games with this evil, no explanations: it will take all. And the fate of democracy in America, never been this unclear and uncertain. No formal processes will restore the confidence, moral and leadership standing, past this point. We'll just have to see, can American society renew its commitment to democracy - or it did it end right here.4 points

This would not have to be a forced removal of people from the Gaza. The west would in effect be purchasing the Gaza. This would go a long way to ending the conflict in that area. I don't see any other way to stop the fighting originating in the Gaza strip. 1. It could be done by offering financial incentives. Every Palestinian who moves could be paid a certain amount of money. The money could come from the U.S., Canada, other countries, and the U.N. 2. The money could also involve spending billions of dollars to build apartments, and create jobs in the countries they settle in. 3. It seems Hamas cannot be eliminated in the present situation. However, moving them by offering financial incentive may provide a solution. This would mean it would not be compulsory but would be in effect purchasing the Gaza strip. So far nobody in the news media has mentioned the idea of paying billions of dollars to the Palestinians to make it feasible. Part of the payments would have to be used to build apartments and create jobs. All of the money would not be given to the Palestinians directly. Some money could be paid directly to the ones who actually move. Part of the money would have to be retained and only used for the purpose of building new apartments, infrastructure, creating jobs, and communities in the destination countries. At present Jordan and Egypt oppose moving them to their countries. But the financial benefits have not been negotiated. That is the missing key to this. Perhaps if there was billions of dollars on the table, they would be willing to take in the Palestinians. But there would need to be a way to ensure the money was used only for the relocation and building of the homes, infrastructure, and jobs for the Palestinians. Also, the payments to the ones who relocated would have to be ensured somehow. The money could not be just handed over to the countries they moved into.2 points

GOP support for Musk influence with Trump falls dramatically everyone gets what Musk is doing with DOGE. what people don't understand is that he is a bull in a china shop for a reason... to try and pay for the huge deficit Trump is about to blow to extend his tax cuts for the rich. Mush said he could cut $2T in spending... then $1T... i bet he can't leverage more than a few hundred million. not unimportant but at great cost and chaos. a case in point. the recent attempt to get ANY federal workers to quit. its very non-surgical nature is going to be a disaster. every bureaucracy has inefficiencies and its a constant task to identify those and rectify. but it never goes away. will the people who are not productive in the federal service take the "buy out"? no. the people can easily get other jobs the private sector will. the talented people.2 points

Here we go again... Ukraine pushed Russia from surrounding Kiev at the outset of the war, pushed them out of Odessa You want to look at this war with a microscope, acting like the timelines only exist where Russia and Ukraine lines of defense mostly settled in and that only Russia is winning in their slow daily grind that you routinely brag about that will take another 100 years at this rate... They do feel this pain. They are struggling to keep up, they have to scrape up men to fight this war, and they have had to go to extraordinary lengths, even bringing in North Koreans and making deals with them for Artillery.2 points

Evidently you don’t, you just think you are smarter than the scientists who have been measuring melt rates and temperature rises. Gore is not a scientist and his film was nearly 30 years ago yet you think you know everything and the scientists who have been monitoring including NASA know nothing.2 points

Let’s recap the FACTS before the MAGA cultists can get their gaslighting revisionism together 1) Dictator On Day One (DODO)threatened tariffs under false pretences, repeatedly trolled Canada about becoming the 51st state and using “economic force” to annex Canada 2) The drugs and illegal immigrants from Canada are a statistical zero, contrary to FODOs lies 3) DODO’s claim that Canada refused requests to help crackdown on the (nom-existent) fentanyl and human smuggling are a lie He also cited a number of other various lies about Canada as justification most of which HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH TRADE so can’t be solved with Tariffs 4)Canada introduced a $1.3 Billion increase to border security anyway just to appease DODO 5) DODO said there’s nothing Canada can do to avoid tariffs and could never clearly state what exactly he wanted Canada to do or when he would be satisfied 6) Despite refusing to take JTs phone calls or have any communication woth Canadian officials, as soon as we announce countermeasures he call JT twice in one day, described the call as “pretty good” and stopped the trolling and annexation talk. DODO “postponing” his tariffs for “30 days” is just his path of retreat so he can change the subject and move on to something else. He lost. He is not going to revisit this in 30 days. All Canada had to do was offer a few symbolic toke gestures…even though Trump had just said there was nothing Canada could do to avoid his tariffs. The bully tried to take our lunch money, we popped in the nose and now he’s fading away.1 point

It's really not my fault that you can't grasp the concept of rates. Your life will be very difficult, but no amount of explaining seems to help. And no, consistently, in every survey, climate scientists are in near unanimity. You just cream your pants when you find some heterodox "climate scientist" on the Twitter who tells you what you want to hear. There's really no "debate" to be had on the fact of AGW. Just you loons howling in denial, pretending that all the scientists are conspiring to take away your precious fossil fuels for some unfathomable motive.1 point

My "infobubble" always has real-world stats and facts, right from the Gov't of Canada, while you're left scrambling for ridiculous excuses like "deaths only went up by 36% because infections went up astronomically - that's proof the vaccine w🤡rks!" No, the "97% of climatologists agree" tripe was debunked, and actual climatologists go on record - showing their faces - all the time to call BS on your blatant BS.1 point

That's the bigger consequence of all this, and I suspect that was the point all a long. All of this grandstanding and carrying on is about causing uncertainty and getting risk-averse businesses to diversify or relocate TO the USA. What Orange Man fails to realize is that this isn't a given, it's a two-edged sword, and it doesn't happen overnight.1 point

you're absolutely right! i need to get a life... participating on these threads have inspired me to research the science of logic and how human belief systems work. i have built and sold two engineering companies and have a BSc in Computer Science and a Masters in Data Science and Machine Learning so that knowledge extrapolates and will be a benefit to me in the future. but of course, over time i get that there are only about 6 people on here i'm debating and they will never change their minds about anything. you can ask stoic questions all you like. their very worlds would fall apart if they were to be wrong in any of their manufactured belief systems. and thats good to know too. that people like that exist. so its been easy torturing people when shit for brains Trump is leader of the free world. but of course, when i stop learning so much i'm just wasting my time. there is absolutely no reason to debate someone who has a response like: "When the Catholic church ran the hospitals in this country, it was normal to have volunteers. Women could learn nursing on the job with less time spent in schools. Now there's a huge education industry and a 100% paid nursing industry and we pay for it all." that IS the stupidest post i've ever seen on this entire board. not to single you out. there have been a lot of ignorant excuses for fabricated belief systems. some truly deranged thinking. but it hits me at a low point. you've learned nothing from our talks. the typing is a waste of time.1 point

I didn't say anything of the sort. I only pointed out your claim that Biden hired "all of the air traffic people" was incorrect which is supported by the numbers provided by your fellow traveller. I'm not wrong about anything. Only 36% of ATCs working were hired under Biden, significantly fewer than the 100% that you claimed. You made a stupid statement that was easily proven wrong and now you're going to cry and whine for another 40 pages about it instead of owning it like a man, because you're a pathetic loser b!tch. And you sure won't prove that wrong either.1 point

Trump: ’60 Minutes’ should be ‘immediately terminated’ after Harris transcript release “CBS and 60 Minutes defrauded the public by doing something which has never, to this extent, been seen before,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website. “They 100% removed Kamala’s horrible election changing answers to questions, and replaced them with completely different, and far better, answers, taken from another part of the interview.” a complete lie. Transcripts show ’60 Minutes’ edited Kamala Harris’ remarks during interview 'He asked what the United States could do to end the war between Israel and Hamas. The transcript shows Harris gave a 140-word response that the New York Post describes as “rambling.” However, when the “60 Minutes” program aired, editors cut down her answer to a succinct 56-word reply.' 'In a second example, Whitaker asked Harris about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu charting his own course and defying the Biden administration. The transcript shows Harris gave a 179-word answer. However, “60 Minutes” only used 20 seconds.' every news organization does stuff like this and Trump is probably the most edited politician on earth. Trump is suing for $10B.1 point

"Let people choose, what's the worst that can happen?" In July 2018, two nurses in Samoa prepared a measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine for two 12-month-old children. Instead of diluting the vaccine powder in water, they inadvertently diluted it with a muscle relaxant. Both infants immediately stopped breathing and died as a result. One nurse tried to cover up her error by taking the empty bottle of the muscle relaxant home after retrieving it from the garbage. Both were later sentenced to five years in prison. RFK Jr. seized upon the story as proof that the MMR vaccine was deadly, spending months highlighting the two deaths on Facebook. After it had become clear that the MMR vaccine hadn’t caused the infant deaths, RFK Jr. visited Samoa, appearing alongside prominent local anti-vaccine activists and meeting with senior officials. Influenced in part by RFK Jr., the Samoan government suspended its measles vaccination program for 10 months. Immunization rates plummeted from 74 percent in 2017 to 31 percent in late 2018, precipitating a massive outbreak of measles. Between September and December 2019, at least 5,700 people suffered measles and 83 died, most of the deaths were in children less than four years of age. On November 19, 2019, in the midst of the measles outbreak, RFK Jr. wrote a 4-page letter to the Samoan prime minister, stating, “To safeguard public health during the current infection and in the future, it is critical that the Samoan Health Ministry determine, scientifically, if the outbreak was caused by inadequate vaccine coverage or alternatively, by a defective vaccine.” Fortunately, no one was listening to RFK Jr. anymore. The Samoan Health Ministry launched a vaccination campaign in late November 2019 and, within five days, had immunized more than 17,000 people. The outbreak subsided.1 point

My take is that the populists ists have a better understanding of politics, and can capitalize on that, Politically, by breaking conventions and exploiting New Media in a way that the old guard cannot. The problem is that politics is more than winning elections. Big problems need deep thinking, and collaboration with the public as well as experts. Slogans don't solve big problems.1 point
