  1. I don't think that applauding a cold-blooded murder is ever a moral choice

  3. in fairness to Mssr, Poilievre he has already been warning that he would be inheriting such a mess, that nothing is going to be fixed easily the crisis is going to have to get much worse, before the electorate would be prepared for radical measures the Liberals are going to be annihilated but they have inflicted so much damage in such a short period of time it will literally take decades for Canada to dig itself out of the hole even future Liberal governments will be labouring under the weight of Trudeau's catastrophic mismanagement

  4. I agree. It's always best if bad people are brought to justice legally. But there are gaps in the the construction and reach of out justice system. People sometimes take that sense of justice into their own hands. And then nobody quite feels bad about it. Illegal "justice" goes down easier than legal injustice.

  7. Safe injection site is an oxymoron. Injecting hard drugs is inherently dangerous. Canada has become an addiction enabler, more specifically the sucky woke pushovers in BC. Heaven forbid they actually try to help people stop taking drugs. I’m waiting for a class action lawsuit of the parents of dead opioid overdosers to sue the BC government. They need to do it while the communists are still in office.

  8. This particular dumpster fire was set decades and decades ago. The issue of blaming foreign importers of drugs is an old time drug war tactic that all governments used to avoid the pain of seriously curbing domestic consumption. North Americans are the biggest consumers of illicit drugs in the entire world. In any case it's almost always white mules that smugglers employ and who the authorities just wave through while focusing on shaking down the foreigners everyone has been conditioned to suspect.

  9. Nice try, id10t. More people died in the US after Biden was president, and the vax was out by then. It just didn't do anything. Our covid deaths in Canada went sky high after we gave out the jabs, even in the cohort with the highest vax rates

  10. Or burning it for that matter... I might not like it but I accept that (subject to legalities imposed by hate laws) freedom of speech and expression must apply to things I don't like in order to be worth defending. On the other hand, compelling me (or any other person or entity) to fly or not fly a particular flag against my (or their) will is another thing entirely. This is where wild eyed progressives earn their loon feathers and lose the plot entirely. It's also the point where kind strangers who fed the loons when they were starving say "GO FISH." IMO, that nonsense has generated the well deserved and long overdue backlash we're beginning to see now. There simply isn't enough lipstick, pantyhose, or hormone blocker on the planet to allow compelled expression to masquerade as free and no amount of screaming is likely to convince me to feed baby loons next spring. How do ya like me now Herb?

  11. In 1975, many men opposed Thatcher as Conservative leader. In 1979, they voted for her and then re-elected her. Men voted for Golda Meir. They voted for Indira Gandhi.is IMHO, these claims of a glass ceiling in politics are false. === Politics is a contact sport: each player has their own style, successful or not. Harris is no Thatcher. And Trump is no Carter.

  12. Trump picks Florida sheriff Chad Chronister for DEA administrator This is an awful pick. Let's start with this: He violated the First Amendment because of a wrong minded executive order. He does not hold the conviction to protect rights. He allowed himself to be convinced to be a tyrant, "for the greater good." His lack of moral fortitude makes him a horrible pick. It is also being reported that he supports Red Flag laws. Those are laws that suspend the rights of citizens for unsubstantiated reports. Those laws are clearly a violation of the Constitution. A theme that seems to be part of his resume.

  16. This is an outright lie. Democrats push sanctuary cities and policies to oppose the deportation of illegal immigrants, those on the left fund humanitarian organizations that work on the border to help facilitate illegal immigrants evading capture and giving them refuge. You even have folks on the left like AOC outright saying we should abolish ICE for crying out loud.
    1 point
  17. That is not true. There are many many people who believe that what we call illegal immigration now should not be illegal and further that those who did break the law have done nothing wrong and should be allowed to stay. There are many - and i mean MANY - who support legal immigration. And that even includes the current administration. 18. Trump should have things so fixed by the time Poilievre's elected Canada will have already long since started farting in silk. OTOH, if Trump cocks everything up Poilievre will have both him and Trudeau to blame. Either way if people think he has it easy now they haven't seen anything yet. Poilievre should glide through the history books like shit through a goose.

I'm constantly reading new things from a variety of sources that expand my knowledge base. I especially enjoy scientific non-fiction that helps me understand human nature, as well as political readings. I mentioned that I read the 165-page court filing that laid out all the evidence against Trump in his bid to overturn the 2020 election. How many Trump supporters do you think will bother to read it? You need to be very intelligent to be an electrician.

  24. For the covid10ts ( @eyeball @Hodad, etc), right from the mothership of covid disinformation: https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/covid-19-fatalities-have-nearly-doubled-in-a-year-but-expert-says-omicron-deaths-may-be-even-higher-1.6109626 Since October of last year, COVID-19 fatalities have nearly doubled, according to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) numbers, and January 2022 saw the highest rate of excess mortality in the country after Omicron became the dominant strain. Hmmmm. No mention of "What percent of them were unjabbed". Because it was only about 10%. Check this out, from the same page:

  28. You are really just a shameless, relentless liar. Trump announced his half-assed China travel ban on Jan 31. While literally on that same day, Fauci was publicizing confirmation of not just human-to-human transmission, but also asymptomatic transmission. 31. I definitely blame him. He makes his fortune misleading stupid people. There are literally hundreds of idlots on prison because they listened to the lies he willfully and deliberately told to them. He even felt guilty about it--but not enough to stop doing it for the money. Morally and ethically it's no different than the Nigerian Prince scam. Both make money by exploiting gullible people, there's just no law against lying on TV for money.

  33. Well I’d say half the country, largely but not exclusively Canadian born, see the existential attack on the founding cultures and early builders of Canada. That’s what the Freedom Convoy was really about. Vaccine mandate opposition was just about free speech and individual rights. It was the first large-scale test of the Charter that we were told by Pierre Trudeau and the CBC would protect the rights we thought we had as Canadians and that our ancestors fought to protect. Instead we learned that they’re so watered down as to be relatively worthless. It made us look to the US and back in time to the English Common Law we relied on before The Constitution Act. Canadians let a critical mistake happen: We forgot that not all cultures are equal and that you do have to rally around your own founding, controlling culture or you will succumb to the domination of others. Multiculturalism, the attack on traditional values with the Quiet Revolution, the dismantling of our military, and the poorly-supported, weakly-crafted Canadian Constitution essentially severed Canadians from their cultural roots and put us at the mercy of hordes of immigrants whose values and wars we don’t fully comprehend and that undermine some of the best aspects of Canada. It happened so quickly that we don’t know what hit us. Even worse, the dumbest, most radical left Canadians have become a kind of Maoist guard for the very forces that are dismantling our culture and way of life. They want communism and a kind of climate action totalitarianism. They consider Canadians to be settler colonialists and have allied with the radical burn it all down Indigenous activists. Christians and Jews are unsafe in what was recently a Judeo-Christian country. We’re not even allowed to develop and sell our natural resources, because our own government and education systems are telling us it’s colonial theft and destroying the planet. Basically our government isn’t acting in the interests of Canadians. It’s at the mercy of unaccountable international directives because they’ve dismantled Canada and made Canadians believe they deserve less.

  34. I suppose it's easy to be confused about this. Most mainstream journalists these days lack honesty and integrity, while Tucker is overflowing with both. So, in that sense, he doesn't seem like a journalist. But he is one nonetheless. Quite possibly the greatest of all time.

  39. Trump sure thought he did, fu cking dingbats freaking out about totalitarianism two weeks into the pandemic had it all figured out too. But what a lot of people never saw coming was how badly so many people would lose their minds over this dangerous nonsense. And in hindsight of that you can be sure if we get hit with something as deadly or worse, and especially if it's sooner rather than later, you'll really be able to say COVID was a nothing burger in comparison. COVID misinformation killed thousands of people who were stoned out of their heads on conspiracy fumes and hindsight shows it's why your country was hit the hardest. But like I suggested maybe you think this death toll was worth it...like it was just refreshing the tree of liberty or something.

  40. I am speaking for myself, and i'm sure i'm not alone...If we are capable of fixing what is wrong, what is it we are waiting for, lightning bolts to come out of the sky...It has been 8 plus years this current government has governed, elected 3 times, which tells me a couple of things , Canadians are content with the dumpster fires, it has become normal, or we can't fix anything with out investing billions...which we don't have, thanks to the liberals spending... The main point of my post was to ask why the US would want Canada in the first place...it has been run to the ground, every department needs a sh1t ton of work that only money can solve, it's own people don't care enough to make change, we think that our responsibility stops at the voting booth. Why would they ever think that would be a good idea...What would Canada's left ever do, even the democrat's are extreme right compare to our left... I would only wish i had the average american problems...and granted both nations have there problems, but to say the US is more dysfunctional than Canada is just a lie....

  43. Platforms like this forum and Twitter are not the best way to gauge Canadian public opinion. Trump's favorability rating is under 30% in Canada. I would imagine perhaps 1 in 10 Canadians would be in favour of joining the United States. However, this forum is infested with MAGA hyenas, sprouting off nonsense. One may get the opinion that Canadian's cannot wait until Trump "liberates us" from our "tyrannical communist government. by listening to these Kremlin-backed MAGA accounts.

  45. Antisemitism has been ingrained in Judeo-Christian society for centuries, going back to Medieval Europe, where they were not allowed to own land, and confined to living in ghettos. Jews were blamed for pretty much all the problems in Europe- from capitalism to communism. Even in Manitoba in the 20th century, Jews were not allowed to own cabins on the east side of Lake Winnipeg, and were not allowed to live in a wealthy Winnipeg suburb, until the 1960s. It's not surprising at all that the worst literature on Jews were imported to the Arab World from Europe (mainly Nazi Germany), and in many cases, were taught in public schools throughout the Arab World. Antisemitism has intensified for the past 20 years, as a result of the increasing number of Arabs and Muslims in Western countries, especially Germany, France, and the UK.

  47. Voters on the left tend to be better-educated and bigger consumers of news information than voters on the right. There tends to be an anti-intellectual bias on the right, especially amoung the religious. How else to explain that a lot of fundamentalist Christians view a belief in evolution and climate change as sins. In fact, a rejection of "intellectual elites" may have cost Harris the election.
