No, we still think Cheney is a terrible human being. He was responsible for the war we opposed and you naively cheered on, despite all evidence it was just to feed Haliburton money. We're just surprised someone so morally reprehensible is one of the few Republicans with principles. He's human garbage and yet most of you are still worse than him. Enjoy! 😆3 points

I think many people suffering from TDS are actually the biggest Trump supporters deep down. I call it Repressed Trumpuality. robosmith and myata suffer from this worse than anyone. Of course, they would deny that they are closeted Trump supporters, but denial is the most revealing sign.3 points

OMG, you really are a stooge for Putin. The facts are quite simple, negotiations are negotiations, until it is a formal agreement, it was just a discussion. This is nothing more than Russian propaganda Putin uses to try to justify the invasion of Ukraine. NATO had been expanding East since its inception and after that meeting as well. There was never any agreement not to move East. And again, even James Baker said as much after this, that he was over his skis and didn't have that authority to ever make such a promise.2 points

indeed, NATO never made any promises to the Russians since NATO is not a state the 1949 Washington Treaty includes no sovereign authority to promise anything to Russia I mean, I was there, on Inner German Border in 1989 and nobody forced the Warsaw Pact to collapse, that happened of their own volition not only was America not involved, America was shocked to discover that the Soviet empire was imploding tho I concede to being overjoyed in thinking that the Thermonuclear War wasn't apparently going to happen after all2 points

Sigh... you conspiracy theory types are all the same. You have some desire to believe everything and anything other than reality. You said: "in exchange for a promise that NATO never moves east of there." James Baker had no such authority to promise that, and he even said as much afterward. A final agreement was signed after this that included no such language. It was NEVER part of any deal or commitment. Trying to push that in the context you did or RFK did is just total bullshit.2 points

1992: Gorbachev offers to leave E Germany, reunifying the country, in exchange for a promise that NATO never moves east of there. James Baker accepts on behalf of the US and commits to "Not one inch past Germany" 2014: America orchestrates the overthrow of the Ukrainian gov't. A month earlier, Vitoria Nuland was recorded appointing members of the new Ukrainian gov't 2014: American-appointed gov't in Ukraine bans Russian language in Eastern Ukraine and starts committing genocide against Russian-speaking Ukrainians there. This was when the Ukrainian Nazi battalion - the Azovs - first becomes famous for committing their war crimes. 2019: American appointee Zelenski, a comedian and actor with no political experience, runs on a peace platform - promising to sign the Minsk accords along with Russia, Britain France and Germany - earning him 70% of the popular vote, and then transforms into ZelNazi: "No peace for you!" 2019: Donbas/Luhansk region (SE Ukraine, between Russia and Crimea) votes 90% in favour of joining Russia but Putin wants Ukraine to remain a functioning country, and pushes for the Minsk accords to be signed instead. 2022: Ukraine actually signed the peace agreement with Russia, Russian troops start withdrawing, and the Biden administration sent Tony Blair to Ukraine and tells them to rip up the peace agreement. Negotiators from Turkey and Ukraine have confirmed that there was a SIGNED peace agreement. @robosmith @Rebound @ExFlyer @lefarddolthorde.... I'm pretty sure that a RF Kennedy knows more about this than a bunch of low-IQ dipshits who get ALL their 'info' from CNN.1 point

Always has been. Basically a throne speech, which is read by the GG and not the prime minister, is a statement of the gov'ts intentions and vision for the next cycle, and the parties have to vote to accept it. If they disagree with it then they must vote against it same as a budget or any other similar thing. If it gets voted down it's considered to be a statement that the parliament has no confidence in the gov't or their plans, and therefore parliament cannot continue and the GG must decide how to proceed. Usually they just call an election. They COULD technically ask another party to form gov't but in most cases there's no reason to believe another party would have more of the faith of the house.1 point

So you say, with NO EVIDENCE. Donbas is INTERNAL to the Ukraine and anything that happens there IS NOT a threat to RUSSIA. Your IQ is LESS than 40. Meanwhile, the Budapest Memorandum OBLIGATES the US to come to Ukraine's DEFENSE when Russia attacked. You really are STUPID. ^Putin's PUPPET. 🤮 How much is Vlad paying you for spouting HIS BULLSHIT?1 point

You know how the maxim works in 2024: Lacking any provable scientific explanation, any bullshit the presenter says must be the truth. The lack of any evidence from the green lights on our backpacks proves those noises in the bushes are sasquatches.1 point

There was nothing to think was bullshit. The Russians agreed to a formal deal that did not include any of that language. You are the one ignoring that Baker himself said he didn't have that authority and the formal deal agreed to by the Russians included no such language. But yeah, this is where you cry about being accused of being Pro-Russia and cheering them on as you are here making excuses to justify their invasion...1 point
-
Negotiations are just that. Until an actual deal is signed and agreed to, they hold no weight. Putin is no way to blame?! He is the one who invaded a sovereign country. No, he didn't. He admitted he was outside the scope of his authority... nothing was ever formally agreed to. There is no truth to your repeated lies of trying to frame this as an actual formal deal that was in anyway binding.1 point

What did I say would happen? I'm okay with the machine guns and barbed wire. In fact, if the Europeans had shot up the first groups of migrants that tried to cross the Med back in 2015 they would have wound up saving lives because thousands drown every year trying to get across to Europe in rickety boats. Shooting up the first batch would have pretty much ended that just as it was beginning. Think that's too cruel? Probably. So take their rickety boats in tow and pull them back to Africa. How's that?1 point

FTFY Lets just point a few things out to you political fledgllngs. They accomplished all of their political objectives with only 24 members. Compared to the zero they got when they were official opposition. None of the 'crappy Liberal policies' they supported went entirely against their own. They even got PP to support anti-scab legislation that he will no doubt rescind if elected. So they did all that they wanted, the Tories did sweet f*ck all. What the Tories did for the NDP by sucking up to the extreme populist right was poison the very word liberal into an expletive. Look at what happened in BC, the Liberals, who were Conservatives tried to change their name and one of them simply stole the Conservative name from that long dead party, and gained huge support in the polls. You're looking at the reverse of that. Singh got all of his goals with almost nothing in members, the Liberal Party and Trudeau continue floundering and tanking in the polls and the NDP is positioning as the alternative to the Tories that can get things done, not the Liberals. As the Tories move right, they move to center where the bulk of votes lie. I don't see Trudeau turning surrender monkey like BC's Kevin Falcon, but a few defections might start happening, pending the byelection results. And Singh distancing himself from Trudeau should bring an NDP boost. That's what it's all about. It's gonna be an interesting year. A go for the win.1 point

On this forum? I fully abided by the t.o.s. of decorum when I got here. Then I got attacked and verbally denigrated by every right wing incel here. Over and over and over. I didn't start it. But I have a good time playing catch up with y'all. Have I upset the delicate flower that's your psyche? From what I can tell by our past discussions, your pretty much the same brand of jethro as all the rest of the maga filth here. But I tell you what, you and I can make an agreement to be civil to one another. See how it goes. Is that acceptable to you?1 point

Since Trump stacked the Supreme Court with two 'yes' people and one that was corrupt for years (Thomas), that may happen Once again, Trump emulates his favortie fellow ethic German autocrat, Adolf Hitler1 point

What the F is so complicated here? Trump’s position on abortion keeps changing. And he absolutely cannot be trusted to protect abortion rights, because he happily took credit for overturning Roe v Wade by appointing justices who lied under oath before the U.S. Senate, claiming they would not overturn Roe. So if his appointees are happy to lie about protecting a woman’s right, then he is. And we know that Trump is an Olympic Gold Medalist Liar. Most likely, Trump has no personal convictions about abortion, he’s just happy to do whatever the political winds tell him to do.1 point

Lol. You think people who agree with you are intelligent (when it's convenient). Most people are going to reverse that correlation. Again, you argument is literally that Floyd telling the police that he can't breathe makes it more reasonable for them to kneel on his neck until he's dead. Unbelievably stupid.1 point

It's utterly deranged to consider geopolitical maneuvering to get Ukraine to align with NATO/the West a proxy war to justify actual armed aggression, but it's clear you're excuses for Putin aren't about actual policy but your perception that he's a strong daddy figure, the kind you so obviously crave and admire. You are literally admitting any evidence that doesn't fit your preexisting conclusions is "propaganda" you dumb b!tch! Why should anyone wast time on you? That's literally what happened, do you have amnesia or something?1 point
-
Bzzt wrong sorry the correct answer is "the country that invaded a neighbouring sovereign state (twice)." Thanks for playing though. See, right here you're literally proving my point by admitting there is no information I could supply that you would believe. Because you refuse to allow any information to penetrate your ideological bubble. And you still don't understand what "case fatality rate" is because you live in a parallel reality. What about your first wife? I mean if i wanted to do that that I'd just become a cop.1 point

Who started the war, dipshit. As for the rest, I could do a point by point rebuttal and make a different case, but to what end? You're in a cult, you won't be convinced, so why waste my time pointing out that Trump engaged in extensive money printing or that inflation is significantly decreased under Biden after skyrocketing largely due to COVID or anything else? You have built a fortress of delusions that nothing else can penetrate. Your wife left you, didn't she.1 point

Toronto and Montreal are both struggling. That Canada's largest markets can't properly support CFL teams is telling. I don't really know what you want me to cite, specifically, but outside of the West/Prairies, the NFL is vastly more popular than the CFL. Nobody watches it on TV, and it's almost entirely a ticket-driven business.1 point
