  1. Don't assume DUI laws are 'relaxed' in Canada. If you're caught in a roadblock it may be a provincial punishment but if you crash you might be criminally charged. If you cause death or injury while DUI, you're for sure going to be nailed to the wall. Stories in the news every day about people jailed for that.

  2. Biden challenged Trump to 2 debates, will there be another one in Sept after this performance and what excuse will Biden's people make to cut and run from it?

  3. LOL, are you still trying to gaslight us? We saw the debate. The curtain has been clearly opened now, exposing Biden. Hell, even the Democrats are panicking.

  6. You typed it on purpose: The frankly shocking stupidity behind this is not that you typed 2020 instead of 2021, it's that intended to do just that, insisting that a PM "term" is 5 years by your completely made up and unbelievably dumb "legal definition". It's your foolishness on perfect display. We can skip the multi-page song and dance where you bullshit and clown around about all of the reasons you can't or won't source this "legal definition". This one is so painfully and obviously wrong on its face that it doesn't even matter. 🤣 That you don't have the emotional maturity to admit you were wrong is a given. The real question now is what your inevitable meltdown is going to look like. Which previous butthurt are you going to try to dredge up? How many emojis and caps will you ROFLMAO pound out on your keyboard in your upcoming performance?

  10. There's truth to that but the fact of the matter is trump did contribute heavily to Biden's bad showing. Trump kept bringing the topics back to issues where Biden was struggling even though the questions had absolutely nothing to do with that. Trump completely controlled what was being discussed and what Biden was reacting to. That left Biden unable to initiate talking points in many cases but all he could do was respond to trump's statements which meant he couldn't rely on the memorize talking points that he'd been practicing all week. And when trump forced him away from his scheduled talking points Biden struggled horribly. He became confused And sometimes rambled and it showed. It prevented by me from gaining the initiative and looking strong. I'm sure Biden wanted to talk about trump's criminal record more. I'm sure he wanted to point out that he allowed his own son to be convicted. I'm sure he wanted to talk more about trump's behavior and not accepting the last election. I'm sure there are a bunch of other things he wanted to talk about but they got completely glossed over because trump controlled the conversation. If you go back and rewatch it with that in mind and look at how trump controls what is being discussed you will see that trump actually did a brilliant job of managing the entire debate. He didn't say anything particularly bright or inspiring but he controlled what was being talked about.

  11. We do but liberals call them the extreme right. Seriously they call JK Rowling who was a hero to the LBG for making Dumbledore gay a far right extremist because she doesn't believe boys can be girls. Conservatives have been moving to the left compromising on things that would of been unthinkable to them a decade earlier, but the left has gone so far to the left they think conservatives are far right when they believe the same things liberals believed only 10-20 years ago.

  16. Think if someone told you that we'll see this: of the two candidates one is openly cheering for the enemies of freedom, and the other, cognitively incapacitated. Two out of two, the perfect score: no options below it, impossible. Could you have guessed it? It can look like anything. Justice broken, states heading on all sorts of populist trips anybody's guess just as good. Seeing it, watching it live would be the only way to tell what can and cannot happen.

  17. What myata and Mike are missing is that both political parties produced the MAGA movement and Trump. They're own actions have lead to this. Clinton's sexcapades...Bush's lies...Obama's weakness and lies. Culminating in Hilary-Billary's infamous "basket of deplorables" insult. The very essence of elite disdain for the voting public. Democrats and Republicans alike, have gone to extraordinary lengths to squash the MAGA movement and it's leader. But...we just keep coming...our cause just keeps growing. It took power in 2016 and it's going to retake power in November. The Republicans are in the midst of a purge of uni-party sympathizers. The Democrats are starting to reject their woke fascist sympathizers. MAGA is the public's response to a government that has little to no regard for them. Enjoy the election.

  18. The founding fathers indeed were aware that ignorance and the tyranny of the majority were concerns. I might argue that Neil postman in his book warned that this was coming and perhaps inevitable. The contradiction of democracy seems to be that if it succeeds, the people will be elevated to to a state of indifference about government. The one thing that The two camps seem to agree on as we are at a critical Nexus. So there will have to be some level of overhaul. And the reforms and counter reforms won't stop until we have returned to a balance. Hopefully the journey will not be too rough To my mind, the West is wealthier than ever before. What both camps seem to want is sharing of the benefits of our productivity gains. I would say Trump 's plans are not practical in this regard. So he will not succeed.

  19. When you had Ralph Northman and Kathy Tran back in 2019 saying garbage pushing The Repeal Act, that is where this comes from. They were pushing for late term abortions and they were the ones saying stupid crap: The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.” "When a Republican lawmaker asked during the hearing whether the bill would allow for an abortion to occur when a woman is in labor and about to give birth, Tran said yes." https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/virginia-politics/lawmaker-at-center-of-abortion-bill-firestorm-elected-as-part-of-democratic-wave-that-changed-richmond/2019/01/31/d4f76ecc-2565-11e9-90cd-dedb0c92dc17_story.html The only "lie" here is if you believe they misspoke and thus are under some kind of obligation to correct them for them. Many folks on the right don't buy that they slipped up.

  20. Another "Hitler?" The spawn of Hitler are sitting across the aisle! 😁 They're the ones who always invoke racism (divisive), dictate what's good for you.....and force you to do as they say thru legislation! Oh boy- why do you wreck your thread with such ignorant opinion? One thing I can think of right now that shows you hardly know what you're on about: what dictator would give back the decision to the people/states (abortion issue)?
    1 point
  21. They both told huge lies. That's not relevant. Oh and that particular lie you mentioned? That was one of the few things that was actually a lot more true than you think. Abortions could be performed JUST before birth, and when that is done sometimes the baby actually survives the birth process and is delivered alive but badly injured. In such cases the doctors are allow to refuse care and allow the baby to die. This is the 'born alive' issue. Essentially 'since we technically started the abortion before birth we now don't have to keep the child alive". Doctors spoke of doing what they could to make the child comfortable while they waited for death. And that's pretty god damned horrible. Most of everything else was a lie or a huge embellishment tho.

  22. I don't know that he has actual dementia. As people get older than mental faculties just slow down. I think he's just growing up cognitively less and less capable. He does have mostly lucid moments I just don't think it's concentration or his ability to think clearly is there. It is sad to see, it's something that most of us will have to cope with one day. Hopefully we will have the good grace to step away from any job that requires a clear mind and involves nuclear weapons.

  29. For a functional democracy it's a failed one. 0 out of 5, on the scale. Zero principles, honesty, integrity. Responsibility, for the acts and the future. Respect for the principles of democracy. Founding fathers are horrified at this choice. There wouldn't be much room any lower - while still a democracy. A collective achievement, sure.

  30. Oh FFS so you're cowing to the lowbrow perception that debates are not about subjects but onstage performances too? Trumped dodged answering hardly any of the subjects, lied to the max, spewed ad hominem and scapegoated migrants as the root cause of every problem. He managed to steer the whole proceeding to be all about himself and Biden clearly was thrown off track by the volume of such vitriol. Biden did make a few clear scores in actual debate to Trump's zero.

  31. I don't care what the brainless crowd would say, it's about way more than what face will sit in some chair. It's about viability and survivability at this point, nothing less. It's clear that Joe cannot think in terms of real problems facing him in real time - he simply doesn't connect with them, in his own space. He can be a decent placeholder, a faceplate for the speeches that were prepared for him, for his countless aides and advisers but of himself, real self and in the real time, I just didn't see much. So who will it be, who will face the new generation of aggressive, brutal dictators - Putins, Kims and others? Who will lead the resistance to them? On the other side, we have a patented hotbull liar ready to give in and give up all without as much as trying to stand up. This is not great. At this, most critical time: nobody is in the head. No clear options. Imagine, Hitler with some soft fluffy pillow, across. What wouldn't he take? Why? But to face the test of Time one needs reason; strength and ressolve. It will not accept empty promises, overly lies, excuses or explanations unlike some of us. Not an easy one to figure out. No obvious ways. So if we want to see some continuation into the future we'll have to figure this one out. All of us, who can still think and stand. Or all of it can go up in a flap - the satellites, global Internet, Tiktok, nightly talk shows: all. In a snap of fingers, just like that. Rome knows.

  32. Yeah I don't see how anyone can view this as anything but an absolute disaster for the democrats. I turned it off after Biden's opening statement. What Trump did during the debate never really mattered. Everyone knew he was just going to rant through his regular slogans and lying BS. What everyone wanted to see was whether Biden still functioned, but he did his best impression of a vegetable.

  36. So you resort to comparing DUIs to violent criminals and a catch and release system so you can deny any change to the Criminal Code that almost no DUIs are charged under? Most places have Provincial Traffic Codes that nail you hard and fast and scoop your car and licence instantly, without tying up the damn federal court system. And the pisstanks are griping they've been denied due process. Whine for the sake of whine, so long as you make something ant-Trudeau, right?

  38. Great news. I have now gone 8 months since my DUI, and I have changed my life. I am healthier, drink far less (2 weeks with no alcohol), feel better, have more energy, and I am now employed at a job I really like. I just hate the fact that the DUI will be on my abstract, causing my insurance to skyrocket, while it pretty much made any jobs where I may ahve been required to drive off-limits until 2026. DUI is not the end of the World. In fact, it may turn out to be the best thing to happen to me in years. I will have the interlock device removed in December, but I doubt I will ever go down the dark path of drinking to a drunken stupor, then driving 9-10 hours later, while I was still technically over the limit.

  39. This is a surprising revelation, but I guess we shouldn't be too surprised with what the Liberal government under Trudeau has been doing. New shocking revelations seem to come out regularly. After all Trudeau's gang has been sending billions of dollars all over the world for various causes. Money is of no concern. Putting people with a foreign religion in charge of a major government department with this kind of result should come as no surprise. What is next? " OTTAWA — The Canadian Armed Forces was following "legal orders" when it tried to rescue a group of Afghan Sikhs during the fall of Kabul three years ago, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Wayne Eyre said. Eyre's comment came as former defence minister Harjit Sajjan explained his decision to intervene on behalf of a group of around 200 Afghan Sikhs who were trapped along with thousands of others in August 2021. Sajjan said in a statement that he passed along information through "appropriate" channels that he had been given about the group's whereabouts and that doing so was in line with government policy to help vulnerable groups on the ground in Afghanistan. Sajjan said he did not instruct the forces to prioritize this group above Canadians or Afghan interpreters, who aided Canadian soldiers during previous operations. In an interview with The Canadian Press, Eyre said the military was following "legal orders" when it made an effort to specifically help the group of Afghan Sikhs." 42. Lt.-Gen. Jennie Carignan chosen as first woman to head Canadian Armed Forces Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has selected Lieutenant-General Jennie Carignan as the next Chief of the Defence Staff, the first woman to head the Canadian Armed Forces, according to a senior government official. She replaces General Wayne Eyre, who is retiring after 40 years of service; he has held the top military job since 2021. The announcement is expected Tuesday and Lt.-Gen. Carignan will officially take up her duties during a change-of-command ceremony on July 18 at the Canadian War Museum. … Lt.-Gen. Carignan is a three-star general with a reputation for excellent service. She has commanded troops in a NATO mission in Iraq, served as chief of staff of army operations and held senior roles at National Defence headquarters. The Prime Minister has spoken often about the need to promote women to important positions in government. Thomas Juneau, a professor at the University of Ottawa’s graduate school of public and international affairs, said Lt.-Gen. Carignan “has significant and very diverse experience, which is very good.” She is “known as a doer,” he said. “She is very direct, very blunt and generally viewed as effective.” … https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-jennie-carignan-first-woman-canadian-armed-forces/#:~:text=Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has,to a senior government official.
