In many ways I think it's completely irrelevant what Trump does. He's an awful human being, and that won't change one way or the other based on a trip to Rikers for contempt of court. (As much as I'd love to see it.) Probably what's more important is what Trump's supporters make of the situation. They've spent months convincing themselves that he's the victim of some legal witch hunt, that he's being persecuted, when in fact his crimes are pretty plain to see. But here, in this case we have an almost scientific experiment. Isolated from politics and even from the gorpy facts of a criminal indictment, we have a judge issuing a plain as day instruction. And it's incredibly basic: don't make public statements about witnesses, jurors, court staff and their families. This is standard stuff for reasons that everyone understands. The judge has been clear about it. Trump was warned multiple times and continued to violate. He's been fined multiple times, and continues to violate. And the judge is begging him to stop, so that he doesn't have to put a past and potentially future president in jail. But the question for Trump supporters, who can see the clear and repeated violations of a simple court order taking place, whether they will finally hold Trump responsible for his own dumb actions, or whether they will try to blame the court for trying to enforce a basic point of law. It's a lot like dealing with a toddler. They will push boundaries until they trigger the ultimatum. As Trump seems likely to do. Will his supporters finally acknowledge that the toddler was at fault for willfully violating a plain, simple and fair directive? Or, like the toddler, will they blame the authority figure for imposing consequences. Should be illuminating either way--but I have my guesses. lol2 points

Scared populations are malleable, it's a tool... there are even courses in managing / exploiting it. Fear serves as a catalyst for predictable action and it's easier to deploy it with soundbites (or word of mouth in smaller venues) than it is to retract with facts, logic or even admissions and apologies from the authors for having done it. The "NS wolf scam" is a case in point, it was entirely accidental but it truly makes me laugh every time I think about it. People who knew about the information release (not realizing it was fabricated) and heard recorded howling on loudspeakers saw wolves behind every bush. Here there be wolfs... some of the comments are cute too. In a different (but similar vein) spotting / ignoring trolls is analogous. When you see sentences starting with WOW and/or ending with LOL it's usually, not always of course but usually troll spoor. It's a literary device used to motivate a response, usually an aggravated response which is hastily created, often in anger. That angry response is then referenced and used to generate further responses. It's done on purpose and they do it for the same reason information management professionals create, deploy, and harness fear.... because it works. And it works because fear and anger always create an inducement to respond, it's usually an ill-advised response BTW that can then be harnessed/subtly modified for redeployment. Once you recognize it for what it is, "smiling and ignoring" it becomes relatively easy. Ignoring the bait, staying on point, and talking around the distraction generates a mirrored form of frustration in troll territory and sets the stage for personal attacks to draw you back in. My response to those personal attacks is simple too, sign the waiver and step onto the mats or see yourself ignored.2 points

LOL, the ASPCA has killed far more dogs. They hoard their money in investments and offshore bank accounts. There have been numerous stories on how they have hundreds of millions in money hoarded away, they pay hundreds of their employees 6 figure salaries while giving 2% to 7% to animal shelters. The ASPCA. LOL What next, PETA? They kill dogs like they were Hitler enacting a final solution.2 points

The fact you feel the need to lie to try to make your point already demonstrates you don't have a good point. Why millions? Why not trillions? I mean, if we're making up fake numbers that aren't remotely possible why not bazillions? And sure - it was about a dozen people who were vaccine hesitant. That sounds about right. And for sure we risked killing quadrillions of people if those 12 didn't get the jab. Give your head a shake boy WHO put the 'Herd Immunity" level at about 60 percent, and then revised it up to 70. We would have hit Those numbers without forcing anyone. And the vaccine prevented serious illness so those who were at risk would have chosen to get the jab. In fact - there's no evidence at all that it would have saved even one life. Especially when you remember the jab did in fact kill people. Soooooo. You're a few million off of the actual death toll that doing the right thing would have cost Typical leftie.2 points

It really doesn't exist. This is a falsehood in your mind that you maintain for two reasons, 1) - it gives you an excuse for your desire to take away property from others. "Oh they didn't REALLY earn their money, it's just that they knew the right people". That justifies you stealing from them and hating them 2) - it excuses your own failures. "I could have been wealthy too if i'd just had access to the right people" And yet when a paid lobbyist like Khan unlawfully bribes the prime minister and has him over to his island for days - you not only refuse to condemn it you actually repetatively pretend it never happens repetitively despite being hand fed the proofs regarding it. Sorry kid - your failures are your own. It's not who you don't know - it's you.2 points

I think it is pretty clear on this forum WHO has dismissed what hamas did...and instead use deflection on what Israel is doing now... 7 Oct was nothing more than a massive terrorist attack, carried out by cowards of Hamas, and regular Palestinian people who joined the fray...They attacked Israel soft targets unarmed women, children...That's got to be something to be proud about, or on the other side of the coin harden others decisions that Hamas and those that support them have to be eliminated by ANY MEANS. You and I do not get to tell israel how long they can hand out retribution for this cowardly attack...we have no skin in this game...Neither do most of the protestors here in Canada, Israel set out goals before there invasion of Gaza city, one was to totally destroy Hamas as a terrorist organization, to kill or capture all of its members, but also to dismantle Hamas capability to wage terrorist activities against Israel... Thats what is happening right now.... Do you think Hamas did not already know what the israelis reaction was going to be before the outset of their terrorist attack's......And yet the did it anyway...how can you explain that ? These attacks were to provoke Israel into just this situation knowing that Hamas had already won on the propaganda war...And the globe would would shout Israel down...2 points

You know why this immunity stuff is an issue, right? Wrong. It's because deranged psychopaths want Trump's head and they've weaponized the legal system to get him. See, all you woketards have to do is call off the witch hunt, and this all goes away. But that's not what you woketards want, is it?2 points

More and more scientists and doctors are conducting studies regarding the covd jabs and information is coming out at breakneck speed. It will be harder for governments and public health officers to deny what is going on. This study was conducted by top folks in their field. Co-authored by Sander Greenland, who wrote more than a few of the most widely used epidemiology textbooks. Serious Adverse Events of Special Interest Following mRNA Vaccination in Randomized Trials by Joseph Fraiman, Juan Erviti, Mark Jones, Sander Greenland, Patrick Whelan, Robert M. Kaplan, Peter Doshi :: SSRN It's starting to look like more and more experts in the fields of epidemiology, virology, immunology and biology are willing to "cross the Fauci, get the ouchy", as they have been saying. I'm attaching the study's abstract. Basically the detailed tables at the end of the study show: For every 6.4 people that Moderna kept out of the hospital for covid, it inflicted 15.1 serious adverse events. For every 2.3 people that Pfizer kept out of the hospital for covid, it inflicted 10.1 serious adverse events. Cost/Benefit analysis is supposed to be the bedrock of medicine's foundation. Up til recently, practitioners and researchers have been forced to do a different cost/benefit analysis and saw the risk of speaking out as too high relative to the benefits. The winged monkeys and their useful idiots have been savage in relentlessly attacking anyone who dared to speak of the risks and balancing them with the gains. The "zero-covid uber bullies" have preached burning the village to save it and I believe the average person has not been ready to hear a different narrative anyways, given the steady diet of fear and "case numbers" screeched at us every 15 minutes for more than 2 years. No system where the true experts are afraid to speak can function for long. But us "little people" need to start paying attention to these studies. Push windows, move the debate and shield those brave enough to speak out. It's discourse or dictatorship. The price of the former is hearing people say things you don't like. The price of the latter is everything else. Choose wisely. Trudeau rules and dictates by popular opinion. If you want him to start paying attention to the science, then you have to MAKE HIM. He cannot lead. He follows. But he will only do so if pushed and he will do so desperately because he is late to the pivot. He will pretend to be righteously indignant. We are beginning a slow, painful recovery from derangement, but that's how recovery works. We need to give Pfizer an all-expense paid trip to under the bus of emerging truth because the truth is too vast to be engulfed by this massive lie. Otherwise:1 point

You are misinformed and you don't make a bit of logical sense. A. The prosecutor in this case is not appointed by the POTUS. These are state and district indictments. And, indeed, even in the federal indictment, the prosecutor was not appointed by the POTUS, but by the DoJ B. Is a basic instruction from a judge not to talk about (threaten, intimidate, coerce, pressure, etc.) witnesses, court staff and jurors "political theater"? Or is that one of the basic principles of the US legal system, entirely necessary to the function of justice? Is the fact that Trump refuses to follow this basic, lawful instruction an aberration, or is this how he has treated the law in every instance, i.e. acting as if laws don't apply to him?1 point

"my success"... how can you take credit if the one and only factor is who is elected President? Yes, govt policies do affect the economy but that's not the point.. you know this. My point is that my success/failure is due mostly (not all) but lets repeat this.. mostly is due to my motivations, decisions, etc. Getting a phd in economics and suffering through grad school. That is my doing not government policy.1 point

No, I think him being an awful human being is objectively true, and I think most people will agree, whether they like his politics or not. If you read a blinded story about someone who cheats on his wives, assaults women, steals from charities, runs scam businesses, cheats his contractors, lies constantly without hesitation, spouts recycled nazi rhetoric etc.-- nobody is going to think that is a good person. The greed, the gluttony. He really has no redeeming qualities, save for political convenience. As I've often said, nobody wants their sons to grow up to behave like Trump, nor their daughters to marry men like Trump. We try to tech them better. And, again, the idea that this is "lawfare" is absurd. Trump has actually done all the things of which he is accused. He has broken those laws, and generally behaved as if the laws should not apply to him. Hell, his team is arguing in court that the POTUS should be entirely above the law, free to break any law with impunity. Any decent person should be shocked and appalled by an idea so antithetical to American values, but the "party of law and order" is A-Okay with this guy elevating the office (and conveniently himself) above the law.1 point

One of the differences between you and I is that I don't have to parrot anyone. A hybrid public/private system like France could work in theory but would require consistent oversight to ensure equity of access and quality of care that the Canadian political class (particularly conservative provincial governments) are unwilling or incapable of providing. For example: here in Alberta, the UCP privatized lab services community lab services in the south half of the province. Eight months later they pulled out of the 25 year contract eight months later with the whole fiasco costing taxpayers nearly $100M because the UCP are ideologically motivated incompetents who don't give a rat's ass about improving healthcare but lining the pockets of the wealthy.1 point

Why is it the left-wing-kook-o-sphere always pretends like that isn't an issue? So they can explain away why they only ever care about something that they can use to condemn the Jews for? Death and murder around the world, but the left cares about none of it, except where Israel is involved, desperate to get Palestine its independence so they can have another Islamic dictatorship in the world. Why does the Left love Islamic theocracies so much? That's the question that really needs an explanation.1 point

Untrue. I have a low opinion of fools. And those protesting fall into two categories, the Muslims who reflexively hate Jews, and the fools. According to these people Israel is a uniquely evil state, the worst by far on the face of the Earth. What other nation-states are currently being widely accused of genocide, of deliberately targeting women and children, of war crimes, of starving people, etc.? Where are the throngs of people out marching because of the way China treated its Muslims. If Israel put Muslims in concentration camps for retraining these people would lose their collective minds. The UN says Sudan is the worst crisis in the world and none of them give a damn. They're not protesting because they care about people dying. They're protesting because they hate Jews. Or because they're left-wing twats. I meant the universities don't have investments in Israel.1 point

The "problem" you mention is fictional nonsense. The falsest of false equivalences. A lot of people in Washington have mishandled classified documents. The difference is that when they discover them in a briefcase or office box, they turn them right back over to the authorities. That's how it's always gone, so nobody gets prosecuted. And, of course, that's what Clinton and Biden did. Traditionally, the only people who have been prosecuted are those who have clearly taken them with intent. Trump didn't just accidentally mishandle them. He took them. He lied about having them. He claimed he had a right to take them. And he refused to return them. Surely, even a rabid partisan can see the difference in Trump's behavior?1 point

Ahhh...Hunter Biden's infamous laptop. Here's the problem Libbies have with that Gawd forsaken election. December 2019 - FBI seizes Hunter Biden's laptop. At that point, the KNEW it existed and was indeed Hunter's. Late October, 2020 - 50 "former" intelligence officials sign an "opinion" that the stories about the laptop and its owner are..."Russian Disinformation. As a result, Biden gets thousands of votes he would not have gotten had these "former" intelligence officials had told the truth. We know that from polls after the fact. So...Did the Democrats cheat? No, I never thought or said anything about "special access" to people in power. I doubt many people with wealth are trying to access people in power. We did see a picture of Trudeau meeting with some Chinese guy who donated a lot to the Trudeau foundation a number of years ago. Then after that, China has apparently been involved in helping the Liberals get elected in some ridings. That's not what we were talking about though. The subject is capital gains tax which has nothing to do with wealthy people accessing politicians. That has nothing to do with it.1 point

Bullshit once again you prove you know nothing. In fact Golden Retrievers rank #3 in the number of dog bite incidents Look it upl Not because they’re vicious breed but because they’re popular and all dogs bite if they aren’t properly looked after an any breed can produce a dog who’s just naturally disposed to agression My Brother in Law had a golden with a biting problem with multiple people having to get stitches over the years especially as he got on in. They finally took him to a vet and put him down. Not shot in the face. You claim you know the difference between a nip and a bite but since Noem doesn’t provide any description of the dog biting anyone there’s no way you could tell. As Ive said many times and as you keep ignoring, she describes in detail the chickens, which is natural dog behaviour especially for a hunting dog, and the embarrassing behaviour on the hunting trip but sh barely mentions its aggression or biting towards humans other than a sentence fragment to state that it happened. Any intelligent person could tell that she’s bullshitting and since you are clearly not an intelligent person it’s no surprise that’s lost on you. Lastly she says herself she “hated that dog”. Most people don’t ”hate” their dogs even if they’re aggressive or poorly behaved. They simply decide the dog is not right for them. She hated the puppy because it embarrassed her and she had to pay for the chickens (never come between a Republican and their money). So she shot it in the face. Any claim of hers that she killed it for safety or it’s aggression towards humans is clearly lacking evidence in the book, and there is no explanation for why it had to be killed instead of given away which is what normal nom-psycho people do.1 point

This has never been about Justice. Of you want to know what the left is doing, just listen to what they accuse the right of dping: "Like Alexander Hamilton, we live in an age of fierce loyalties that make crossing party lines extraordinarily difficult. If anything, it is even harder now, especially for Republicans living with social pressures, media echo chambers, and a cult-like party culture compassed round, in the words of John Milton. Many public figures in the GOP have shown that they cannot break free of partisanship even in the face of rank criminality." Of course, I could be projecting as much as this guy. Sonlets dabble in a little bit of logical thinking. Which party votes as a bloc with few to no deviants? Which party has a problem keeping leadership? Which party has competing ideas for most problems? Wouldn't you say that the party that has one solution for every problem, one set of leaders that never waver and votes in a very reliable bloc is the party described above? And wouldn't the party that argues over how to solve problems, has members that vote out of step with the party and keeps ousting leaders is not described above?1 point

What BS. The “bitten people” part is clearly exaggerated as despite her detailed description of everything else the dog did to deserve execution, including embarrassing her, she offers no details of it’s aggression or biting just a brief mention in a sentence fragment Second, attacking chickens is normal dog behaviour ESPECIALLY FOR A DOG SHE JUST TRAINED TO HUNT PHEASANTS AND WAS BRINGING HOME FROM A PHEASANT HUNTING TRIP. Third, it’s not like the dog stole her keys and freed herself to attack the chickens, Noem chose to take this dog to a chicken farm knowing what happens when dogs and chickens mix, especially dogs trained to kill ground birds and just returning from a ground bird-killing trip, and she failed to properly secure it. The animal is an animal what is Noem’s excuse. You still offer no explanation as to why she couldn’t have done the normal decent thing which is to give the dog away. Below I offer you this wise comment I stumbled across on another forum, in its entirety, as well as the official tweet of the rescue society for this particular dog breed: —— The only 'obvious and political' thing in this thread is defending killing a 14 month old puppy for the sin of being a puppy because the perpetrator of the act is a high-profile GOP figure. If you substituted 'Hillary Clinton' or 'Kamala Harris' in place of 'Kristi Noem' with all the same circumstances and explanations that she has given, you guys would be all over it like flies on shit. And I would not be making excuses for either of them. Wrong is wrong no matter if you're an R or a D. We liberals on this board are always accused of putting 'team' first, but you guys are just as guilty. I know you've been involved in dog rescue, Manny, as have I for about the last 25 years. My wife and I are members and supporters of Afghan Hound Rescue of Central Ohio. We have rescued dogs, fostered dogs, transported dogs for the rescue, etc. No one we know in the dog rescue community would agree that a 14 month old dog deserved to be put down like this. That's exactly why there are rescues, shelters, humane societies, etc, to give puppies and dogs a second chance. Purebred dogs even have the advantage of having breed-specific rescues to rehabilitate and rehome them. Here is the rescue group for German Wirehaired Pointers. http://www.nationalgwprescue.com/ She was too lazy to take a more humane route. Kristi Noem failed this dog. Then thought it was good idea to broadcast it to the world in her book to somehow make her more appealing to the MAGA world. She failed the dog, but succeeded in her end game, witnessed by the response in this thread. https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/non-moto/shooting-14-month-old-dogs?page=2 ——————————-1 point
