From Pierre Poilievre to Danielle Smith, Canadian conservatives are finally pushing back against the snakes Something is brewing in Canada — something of deeper than mere national significance. It’s a veritable sign of the times. Just as our nation was and so unfortunately on the cutting edge of the moralizing woke globalist eco-utopian nonsense promulgated oh-so-charismatically by the beautiful Justin Trudeau, so are we leading the charge of counter-offensive. To put it succinctly: Canadian conservatives are growing a spine. Or a pair. Pick your metaphor. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/jordan-peterson-the-awe-inspiring-conservative-counter-offensive-against-woke-nonsense And it is a phenomenon we're seeing pick up speed. The woke left has been intolerant of everyone else for ages - now people are becoming intolerant of them. Left wing, socialist, woke - these ideologies are starting to become hated and reviled, and young people are turning away from them.1 point

Billionaires decided the USA should belong to them, that they should force us as the new peasant class to accept them as our Royalty, and overturn every law that interferes with that by flooding every vsingle level of political.office in the country with like minded individuals, choosing its senior snake oil salesman to be POTUS and keeping him propped up long enough to cause massive upheaval politically allowing b them to crash the economy by raising prifits from every major industry and driving up the price of living, eliminating many new millionnaires They, Themselves would be able to keep a steady supply.of luxuries to themselves while controlling the military by directing their access to weapons...not in Ukraine, but here and creating a class of toadies who will preach their snake oil while throwing away the hard fought for rights of American democracy by empowering Organized Crime to take over .1 point

I don't insist it is all-encompassing. However, I bet almost anything else you can think of flows from the hierarchy of importance and the demand for apologizing for the existence of white history and success and that we were mean to people's ancestors (as their ancestors were mean to others). Lots of conservatives dislike Trump, including me. It is the hierarchy I mentioned, and the numerous times you have adhered so strictly to it on subjects like trans and the rest of the rainbow, including drag queens, as well as on subjects like Muslims, and until recently immigration that makes people question how conservative you are. The Post has not pulled away from covering the stuff in schools that Fat Ford has done nothing about. In fact, his ministry is participating in it by embracing critical race theory and demanding all teachers be indoctrinated in antiracism. I agree. I think his focus will be mainly on economic issues. He will probably slash the DEI stuff in government, and the requirement the government puts on suppliers and universities to adhere to it if they want business or grants. I think he will cut the money going to mainstream media and, I hope, cancel some of the stupider stuff Trudeau has done and is doing, like his online hate bill. I don't really want the CBC eliminated. I would prefer it be reformed, and the CRTC largely eliminated. Or at least, its powers slashed. It started with the universities. The rot in academia has to be addressed. It could be, if Poilievre really put his mind to it. He could demand unbiased teaching and withhold grants to the universities if they don't follow through. If he really wanted to go after them he could use some kind of carrot and stick thing to encourage the provinces to act, as well.1 point

well that's the million dollar question. Eyeball claims to be COMPLETELY concerned with transparency and accountability - right up till it involves a political group he approves of.1 point

What's that got to do with anything? Or are you just trying to cover up for your buddy justin and the lying left again? Or is this you realizing what you said was stupid and you're trying to distract? It's not the gov't that's the problem - it's people like you who refuse to hold them accountable when we do discover they've done something wrong. In this case the problem was the left wing media and the leftist supporters who tried to cover the actions of their people who claimed it was 'racist' to say gov'ts might be sneaky. so for a guy who claims to be all about transparancy and accountability you sure hate it the moment it's the left that's keeping the secrets1 point

A lot of shit happens that the world has to deal with. Wars, pandemics, genocides etc. And normally, those who are responsible are held accountable. But as far as you're concerned...not in this case. So why is that???1 point

Punjabi Sikhs have never been required to remove turbans in the Mess, by the British Army since the Punjab Regiment was founded in 1761 the Sikh warrrior has hair down past his waist, the turban is not headdress like a hat which he can remove the Legion, like every other Canadian institution, is simply ignorant as to their own history HM The Queen would call them 1diots for demanding Sikhs remove turbans in her honour the Legion has nothing to do with the military, it's a private club1 point

That is how the new generations express themselves, rage...not conversation ,but yelling and screaming... What is Remembrance day for...it happens one day a year,to honor all those that fought and died of our country...why would someone fell the need to highjack that one day for something else...don't wonder why they would disagree or get angry, it is a sign of disrespect.... make your own day up that fits your cause....Stop using one that remembers those that sacrificed everything...it is disrespectful.... Now that day might not mean anything to most Canadians but it means everything to me...Want to opt out then fine do that, it really not a day for them anyways... The wearing of turbans in the Legion...is not about turbans it is about NOT wearing any head dress in the legion, a long standing tradition if a government institution displays a picture of the Queen/ king, head dress is to be removed as a sign of respect...once again why is it a problem, don't want to take off your headdress then don't come in...it is just a dress code, like they have in golf, restaurants, churches, etc etc...1 point

Not insinuating anything, I have a police officer in my family as well. As far as housing goes, military personnel can end up making multiple moves with no say in the matter so they are unable to use their residence as an investment, unlike the average Joe. For instance, someone in the Navy can be moved from Halifax where housing is relatively inexpensive to Esquimalt next to Victoria where housing is just as expensive as Vancouver.1 point

Trudeau banned reins said they were a form of slavery. Same with rudders as only he knows how to steer the ship named Canada. He beached us on day one, then spent billions trying to drive further onto the beach. Said once we're out of the ocean it will stop climate change.1 point

We know what woke means. I think that everyone here would be able to identify the point on the spectrum where most topics drift into the realm of wokeness, just like we know what's actually alt-right. The fact that some people will say things like "Walls are racist", just to try and throw people with common sense into the extreme category, doesn't change where the goalposts actually are. All of us know, some of us just choose to pretend. We look at your inability to acknowledge your Fuhrer's faults as evidence that you're not a conservative. No one says that you have to love Trump to be conservative, but when you propagate leftard drivel about Trump, you're outing yourself. I don't think there's a single conservative here who believes even for a second that you're not a leftist.1 point

Imagine being such a cultist that you won't acknowledge how badly young people were harmed by the covid jab that they didn't need or want. Imagine being such a cultist that you won't acknowledge how much our trust in our medical professionals was harmed during covid. Imagine being such a cultist that you are willing to let your own petty politics get in the way of a constructive, adult dialogue about vaccines.1 point

That's an ambiguous/practically meaningless term now. It used to refer to people who chose not to give their children safe vaccines that prevented them from pathogens that truly posed great risk to their lives, but more recently it refers to people who don't get themselves jabbed with a pseudo-vax that they don't need and which has grievously harmful side effects. Trudeau's stunt gave people very good reason not to trust our health professionals. No one ever showed any evidence at all that children needed to be vaccinated against covid - the death stats showed quite clearly that they didn't need to be vaxed - yet we forced young people to take it and some were injured badly, even killed. That's real. There's a consequence for that. Humans react to actual dangers in a predictable fashion. And TBH, there are so many people vaccinated against a lot of the things that we need actual vaccinations for that we have herd immunity against them. Polio, TB, and smallpox are dead here. There are other thinks, like meningitis for example, that are still around and I would hope that everyone gets their kids vaccinated against thos things but I'd never say that it's unreasonable not to trust our gov't anymore. You can choose to be political about it, but at the end of the day children will be harmed again when some of them remain unvaxed, and that will take a while to overcome. Are you going to sit here and pretend that kids needed the covid jab, or that none of them were harmed/killed by it? I'm just not sure where you're coming from... Right. And our understanding of the word vaccine comes from all of those decades of safe, effectives vaccines saving countless thousands of young, healthy Canadians. But now the word vaccine is just a sales gimmick. More "multi-vaccinated" people died of covid in 2022 than the total number of people who died in 2020 when covid was still a novel virus. More "multi-vaccinated" people died of covid in 2022 than the total number of vaxed and unvaxed people combined in 2021. Like it or not, the definition of vaccine has changed. The word means almost nothing now. If you were just coming into the age where you were learning what vaccines are right now, you wouldn't think of them the same way that we did growing up back in the '70s and '80s. Just today I was hearing ads for the HPV vaccine. Does it even work? Why should I have to question that? If you don't accept the fact that this is a free country, you're free to emigrate. No one has to leave this country to suit your fancy. Yeah, what could go wrong? Should the Americans try that first? Maybe the people of Tuskegee will volunteer for that vax campaign.1 point

I think we all recognize what woke is. It's the division of people into separate groups based on sex, gender, religion, and race, and the elevating of certain of these groups on a sort of hierarchy of importance to the point they are put ahead of those at the bottom (straight white male christians) in acceptance for colleges and universities, in hiring and promotion in corporations and government, and qualify for government grants that are restricted to them and which exclude those at the bottom of the hierarchy (straight white male christians). They are given softer or non-existent sentences for criminal acts, including killing people, and treated in all things as if they were sacred beings and any protest or disagreement with them requires punishment. In fact, they are so deified there have to be special classes in school on what wonderful people they are, and adults are put through special indoctrination lectures where they are taught the hierarchy (including that as oppressors, white people are at the bottom and must recognize their self-evil and beg forgiveness) and ordered to observe it in all things. Right, like the major media person from the CBC who quit and then talked about how they had to fill out diversity charts for every news piece and interview, and were strongly encouraged to always find someone racialized to interview, or at least female, on all subjects. Or the CRTC order that says the CBC must devote 30% of its English language programming on independent shows and documentaries to producers who self identify as one of the preferred identity groups, to rise to 35% in 2026. Those preferred identity groups, need I say it, do not include white people unless they identify as gay or trans. Maybe when Poilievre gets in he'll get rid of the CRTC, or at least drastically prune back its powers. Maybe he'll even do something about the ridiculous level of DEI in the government. I have a friend who's very liberal bordering on progressive and is all into respect for racialized and gender groups etc. He also has a son who's been a star baseball player since he was nine. He played on the higher level, more intensive teams, the ones that travel around a lot, including to the US to play. He tried out for the university team only to fail. You know who didn't fail, a guy from his last team who was pretty much the worst player on that team. When he was telling me about this and how he couldn't understand how that kid had been selected instead of his I asked him if the kid was white. He suddenly went quiet. He hadn't even thought of it. Then he realized what DEI meant, and that his kid had been screwed out of a position on the university team by someone not nearly as good as him but who checked off a box. That's how people stop wanting woke. When they start to see how it negatively impacts them and their families.1 point

You can brag all you want about the stock market or GDP but this election and Biden's approval isn't about that. When the economy is truly good they people feel it. Problem here is people ain't feeling it. They figured out that people making under 45k can't afford to go to McDonalds anymore because it has gotten too expensive and that is McDonalds and even though everyone is laser focused on McDonalds all the rest of the fast food restaurants are around the same price.1 point

It's more donutshop chatter. No definition of woke... A cloudy bogeyman with no clear parameters that will miraculously clear up when Poilievre is elected, mostly because friendly media will stop looking for one-off anecdotes to blow up. See how easy it is?1 point

Our Lib gov't - aka Emperor Trudeau - actually shipped several tons of our own PPE over to China at the start of the pandemic and we got nothing back. For some reason it made sense to ship it over there at that point, because somehow they needed it, even though we were telling people here NOT to wear masks of any kind. 🤣 If people weren't supposed to be wearing masks then why did China need ours? Makes a lot of sense, right? 🤔 Trudeau was also saying "We don't believe that covid will affect Canadians very much" back in those days. Then we left our airports open for flights from China until March 16th, and by April 8th British Columbians weren't allowed to walk outside in our provincial parks. There were biohazard signs up there. https://www.biv.com/news/hospitality-marketing-tourism/covid-19-shuts-down-bc-parks-including-pinecone-burke-8259651 COVID-19 shuts down B.C. parks, including Pinecone Burke Our covid fight here was a really bad joke. It does not unfortunately. For two reasons. The first is that as mentioned due to the fact that barring serious recessions or downturns (and even then sometimes) the size of the economy is always growing, so it's ALWAYS going to produce 'best days ever' regularly. It's only impressive if it manages to do consecutively over time and usually only if it's the best months. For example an economy that produces 4 consecutive 'best months' is impressive in it's growth - all else being equal and that's a critical caveate. Second - the market is artificially high. Biden is dumping insane amounts of money into it. When you inflate the economy like that it does appear to grow larger quickly but it's an illusion. The growth stops and the bubble bursts as soon as the stimulus stops. And often you then get a downturn that's worse than the up swing. They're doing this because of the upcoming election. but most actual independent ecnonomists feel that it's bad policy and the economy isn't actually doing as well as it looks. It's got a long way to go to catch up with that insane inflation - people are still paying far more than they were and just not earning enough to make the difference up Which is why biden's in the hole approval rating wise.1 point

"You had a choice, sir!" It's a shame - the free trade deal with the states literally saved canada. It radically increased our trade with them and we made a buttload of money and created new industry at a time when we really needed to, but the liberal media of the day and the libs themselves scared people into thinking it was going to be the worst thing ever and everyone was going to be out of a job. Chretien ran on scrapping the gst and the free trade agreement - and kept both. That is the liberal mind at work - lie, achieve power, break your word and then steal as much as you can for yourself.1 point

Switzerland is practically invasion proof during the Second World War the Swiss press would make fun of Adolf Hitler Hitler would fly into a rage about, ordering that Switzerland be invaded then the Nazi Generals would talk him out of it since fighting in the vertical through the Swiss Alps would never yield a result same thing applies now same thing applies to the Austrian Alps in terms of Ireland, any incursion there would incite a NATO response regardless of Article V but even if not, Ireland is a ferocious place to try to control by force the Russians would find themselves getting massacred by the IRA in very short order1 point
