I don’t disagree with Obama. He tried for eight years to work with Netanyahu, who gave him the finger the whole time, up to and including addressing Congress without getting permission or even asking the State Dept. It was a big F-you to Obama, and lo and behold, it hasn’t worked out well for Israel. Trump’s plan was to send an Orthodox Jew to create a “peace plan” with Israel, present it to the Palestinians and tell them “take it or leave it,” and if course that got him a middle finger too. Maybe it’s just not possible, but frankly, Netanyahu has been far far too antagonistic to the Palestinians5 points

You accuse people of lying when you cannot back up what you say. It is a practice that does not encourage respectful discourse. You still have not provided any studies that prove your statement that all anti-semites are left wing. You may want to consult the library's Political Science section for some references that may help you make your case. I hope that is helpful.4 points

That crrrrrrazy, Obama, saying what every thinking person already understands. So controversial!? "If there’s any chance of us being able to act constructively to do something, it will require an admission of complexity and maintaining what on the surface may seem contradictory ideas that what Hamas did was horrific, and there’s no justification for it. And … that the occupation and what’s happening to Palestinians is unbearable,” Obama said in an interview on the podcast “Pod Save America.” For sure, only a Muslim could possibly think that.?4 points

Great post. The hard of thinking will demand that Israel and the US take a hard line, when that is the strategic failure before us. Netanyahu's arrogance and assumptions that the world will support them no matter what ... led them here.4 points

You are however expected to avoid the common belief fallacy. Sometimes, but did you take variation into account never mind the fact that what you're looking at is actually the Earth turning and the sun isn't what's moving at all? No, you didn't. You use this simple example of common knowledge a lot and the same way when dismissing more nuanced points being made in a discussion - your common knowledge is peculiar to you alone and any point you make that doesn't take that into account is incomplete. Critical thinking should always start with your own thoughts first.3 points

Douglas Murray, editor of the Spectator, writing in the National Review, dares to openly state the problem with bringing in large numbers of Muslims and spending no effort to weed out those with bigoted, racist or misogynistic world views. What happens is your country changes. Things which were once open become closed. Ways and styles of behaviour, things you can say and do, will be threatened or changed by angry, religious fundamentalists who, as we all know, are quite willing to resort to violence to get their way. How many? What percentage? No one knows. No one dares to ask. But to quote Brigitte Gabriel, it's not the quiet mass of people who decide on things, it's the loud, angry and determined minority. It was that way in Germany in the 1930s, and in Japan, in Russia then and now. Most want to just get on with their lives. But they're irrelevant. China is the same. Most are peaceful people. But they're irrelevant. And most estimates of the world population say up to a quarter of Muslims could be considered hard core beliefs in a world wide caliphate and an Islamic state. And the more Muslims we allow in without any screening and without any effort at integration, the higher that population will become here. https://www.nationalreview.com/magazine/2023/12/how-mass-immigration-makes-antisemitism-worse/2 points

Canadian conservatives love conservative Muslims when it comes to drag story hour, trans people, etc And, as the poster says, it’s not all Muslims who are extremists. Maybe the problem is being a social conservative, not the Muslim part? Should Canada screen immigrants out for being socially conservative? Might be a better strategy…2 points

What is your source for that? As far as I know, anti-semitism is a multi-partisan problem. It is not accurate to paint a community with one label. When my late father -in-law was approached to run for the Social Credit Party in BC, he was told it was to get rid of the jews. The Liberal minister of immigration before the war had a policy about allowing jews into Canada, "One is too many." The NDP is split between supporters of Israel and supporters of Palestine. When we ascrible certain negative values on a community, we are pre-judging them based on the values or actions of some members. Hence, the word "prejudice." Some people are full of hate. Their political or religious persuasion has nothing to do with that. There is no excuse for hate or bad behaviour.2 points

My parents didn't really instill any pro or anti union sentiment in me growing up. But if you weren't raised to think harassing and causing violence against co-workers in order to further your own contract negotiations is about the most disgusting, immoral thing you can do then you weren't raised at all. People have freedom of association and are free to join or not join whatever union they wish and also are free go where they want, a mob shouldn't be allowed to harass them and physically block their path or otherwise act like a bunch of bullies.2 points

When the UN votes on things like these, 90% of the world always either votes for it or abstains, while the US, Israel and a few of their dogs vote against. Not that it would matter, the UN is more useless than an ice cream truck in Nunavut. But it shows that when push comes to shove, international law has two standards: One for Israel, and the other for everyone else. It's funny how we hear nonstop from the woke government about our past sin of colonialism, while we refuse to hold Israel responsible for its current sin!1 point

https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/senator-don-plett-attack-pro-palestinian-protesters “They actually jumped on to my car. They were banging on my windows, they were laying on the hood of my car and they were trying to prevent me from moving,” Plett told a meeting of the standing committee on internal economy, budgets and administration. “I’m sure I’m on many pictures now on the Gaza Strip or wherever.” As first reported by Blacklock’s Reporter, Plett raised it at committee as a safety issue for parliamentarians, saying security has declined during his 13 years on the Hill. “There was no security around to help and I felt very, very unsafe. “I then went into my Manitoba meeting and (Winnipeg Conservative MP) Marty Morantz, who is of Jewish descent, had been walking there and of course he felt more unsafe than I had and later we heard at our meetings that there were probably a dozen members of the House that had also been under attack.”1 point

See - that's not an example of critical thinking in the slighest. THat's an excellent example of obfuscation, one of the left's dearly loved tactics The phrase "the sun rises" is well established and part of the english language and has been for well over a millenia. But rather than address that you attempt to claim that what is absolutely commonly known and a daily use phrase is inaccuate. Which is extremely dishonest. Further Einstien proved that there is absolutely NO way to tell if the earth is turning and the sun is 'stationary' or vice versa - it would look and act exactly the same from your frame of reference. So there's no nuance there - that's a completely bullshit bit of nonsense from you. And none of it is germaine to the point. And this is what liberals and lefties do. The sun rises in the east. That's a fact. But instead of dealing with that fact you attempt to twist and turn and come up with incorrect and unrelated nonsense. A perfect example of dishonest left wing debate practices. Thanks for the example. The part where you were dishonest? Sure.1 point

They were trivial technicalities and NONE were related to Russia collision. You are an fing liar and its sad. Just cause you bought into hillarys delusions and can't come to grips with the fact that people don't support your perverted world view lol. And I'm NOT the one who claimed COLLUSION. This was a DELUSIONAL CONSPIRACY THEORY that was the predicate for an investigation. As you point out and I agree with you COLLUSION ISNT A CRIME. But what you fail to recognize is that by using this nonsense as a predicate, the FBI acted OUTSIDE THE LAW and used it as a FISHING EXPEDITION against a sitting president. They then found obscure laws to go after his associates. NO MATTER HOW YOU FD UP PEOPLE TRY TO SPIN IT THIS ABUSE OF POWER IS THE REAL ISSUE HERE. It was an ILLEGITIMATE PREMISE to start an investigation The entire Mueller investigation was just a fishing expedition used to interfere with the legitimate policy mandate of a DULY ELECTED PRESIDENT and was more of a threat to democracy than anything Donnie was falsely accused of1 point

On reflection, and re-reading your previous posts, I realize I need to differentiate between opinion and statements of fact. Your reference to anti-semites as leftists is your opinion and that is fine. I cannot dispute that that is what you believe. Some of us have an opposing view, but my challenge to cite a study was not called for and I apologize. As for your accusation of lying, this is a friendly forum and we (me) need to take such things as friendly banter. No harm, no foul.1 point

Their role was to look into Hillary's CONSPIRACY THEORIES of Russian collusion which were NOT crimes as you have already said. They filled out FISA warrants using falsified information to SPY on a rival campaign, then used false information from a FOREIGN SPY fed by those connected to the KREMLIN to stall the implementation of an agenda ratified through an ELECTION. They went through EVERY aspect of Trump and those close to hims lives and managed to find some forms that were incorrectly filled out or not filled. They then used an obscure law to cover up and justify SPYING on a presidential candidate and using the FBI to abuse their powers to investigate a political candidate even tho you ADMIT NO CRIME EXISTED. They harassed a sitting president AND HIS KIDS over a DELUSIONAL CONSPIRACY THEORY that wasn't a crime to begin with The fact that you are ok with this type of bullshit shows that you are not to be taken seriously. YOU WOULD SIDE WITH ADOLF HITLER AND THEIR BROKEN GLASS POLICY AND GESTAPO AS WELL1 point

While the Nazis (not all or exclusively Germans) were mainly responsible for the holocaust, Canada has many anti-semites. It wasn't the CCF who instituted restricted restaurants clubs, golf courses etc. in Canada. Anti-semitism is not confined to any political group. There are anti-semites everywhere. While the activists in Hamas who perpetrated the horrific massacre in Israel, is totally evil, the average Palistinian just wants to live and feed his family and put a roof over their head. The problem is in 1948, the UN had the stupid idea of plunking Israel down in the middle of Palistice. Thousands of people lost their homes and that is going to create conflict. I proposed that Oregon would be a better place due to climate. Part of the problem is there are members of the current Israeli government who some how believe God gave Palistine to the Israel. An entity that is managing a universe consisting of over 28 trillion stars just in what we can see, gives a tinker's curse about who owns any particular bit of land or whether I am a human or a squirrel.1 point

No it's not. You are engaging in revisionist history here. The mandate the Mueller team had was to investigate collusion with the Russians. You are ADMITTING collusion isn't a crime THEREFORE NO INVESTIGATION SHOULD'VE HAPPENED TO BEGIN WITH. Instead they set perjury traps and combed through taxes to ensure the correct obscure forms from a law very seldom ever discussed were filled out. Very definition of a Nazi show trial1 point

I find the National Memorial ceremony to be very "correct". Quite a lot of the folks are the because they have to be there and a few onlookers. The ceremony at the Military Cemetery is a bit more sombre and respectful as you are amongst those that served and passed. Everyone there has a personal reason for being there. While I have not experienced combat and not lost any friends in conflict, I do remember those in SAR that lost their lives saving others. "That Others May Live".1 point

Obama didn't "give" ANY money to Iran, knucklehead. And that's the "reason" you posted NO EVIDENCE for you ignorant claim. In REALITY, Obama removed sanctions which FROZE Iranian money in foreign banks in exchange for limits on Iran's nuclear development. On January 16, 2016, the International Atomic Energy Agency verified that Iran has completed the necessary steps under the Iran deal that will ensure Iran's nuclear program is and remains exclusively peaceful. Ahhh yes - the peaceful protesters of the left. Jumping on people's cars, threatening them, etc. But of course - no bouncy castles so no need for the emergency act. Why bring this here. ‘We focused on whether the evidence was sufficient to charge any member of the campaign with taking part in a criminal conspiracy. It was not.’ Looks like you're the liar By your own quote he didn't even address 'collusion' which is not a legal term. So you're lying right off the bat when you claim he found 'tonnes' of evidence. HE found NONE - because he wasn't looking as it is not a legal term. In addition he found nothing that would support a charge against anyone in the campaign. Not just trump. So there absolutely was not russian 'collusion' And there's no evidence trump did anything illegal with the russians. While mueller has tried to say that Trump claiming 'no collusion' is misleading because that's not a 'real term', the fact is that was the term used by the dems and the FBI for years. So saying "well... TECHNICALLY it's not a real thing so we can't say there's no evidence of it" is just childish. No evidence that trump committed wrongdoing, Sorry, three years of a huge team investigating him and everyone he knows for nothing. Wah wah waaaaaaaah, you lose.1 point

Well no, he didn't. even the prosecution and the judge isn't saying that. Why does everything have to be explained to you 100 times? The claim is that donald had inflated the price. The GOV"T assesses his property for taxes, donald doesn't. And the prosecutor claimed the fact the assessment was lower is proof that donald's assessment is too high. Which turns out to be not an accurate statement at all. Now - i've explained that to you. Others here have explained it. Yet you keep repeating the lie. Do you feel the need to lie because you know you're in the wrong? Is that it? Wow - looks like even donald haters like you know there's something wrong here if you feel the need to lie to cover their tracks1 point

THat's not hard to do in a civil case. And the anti-trump media outlets tend to leave the 'civil' part out and make it sound as if he's being tried for actual fraud, which is an entirely different beast. A bias judge can decide he's committed civil 'fraud' just because his name is trump. It's not like a criminal trial.1 point

Trump could have appealed the summary judgement and he can appeal anything else. So if it’s true that this is a rogue judge, the decision will be overturned. For some reason, large verdicts are almost always reduced on appeal. But you haven’t made a legal argument. The law is the law and Trump broke it. So your side has nothing to fall back on except to call the judge crazy. You need to tell a court of appeal more than that.1 point

Which for you means they're right of Castro..... Fraud does require mens rea. You have to knowingly misrepresent something. So.. while you're being a little general there it's true in as much as he has to believe ALL the information passed over was substantially accurate. If he does then it's not fraud. No, that's not the issue. That's already been proven beyond a doubt - the taxable amount is not calculated at ALL the same way, it will be radically different Also the tax assessment comes from the gov't not from trump. The issue is that he provided information about the value, including the valuation and data about the property, which may have been inaccurate. Certainly the size of the property is. It was noted that the tax assesment was smaller which was presented as evidence that his valuaton was too high but every expert has said "of course it was". It entirely matters. Sorry kiddo The valuation itself is pretty hard to argue. Normally you would value it by looking at what comparable properties actualy sold for - but this proterty is unique and that's not possible. Things like sq footage are far less 'etherial'. It's been said he gave false sq footage. That can absolutely happen by accident and that's something we see ALL the time in real estate markets - it's not like he would have gone and measured himself. But - having said that if he had been reasonably informed that the nubmers were wrong and still kept putting them out then that's an issue. And of course there's whether the banks were given a chance to verify. There is a reasonable amount of due diligence expected in a transaction. Now - lets remember this is a zero harm case. Nobody is complaining, the lenderwas paid back on time, the lender is not questioning the accuracy and was happy with the valuation. So what this is would be a democrat friendly prosecutor digging and looking for anything he could possibly twist into being a crime and then charging for that. Whether he's guilty under the laws of that state will be a matter for the legal system to decide. But its highly questionable if he was guilty at all, and certainly this trial isnt' about him committing a 'crime', it's about technical violations that have no basis in the real world. Now - i know that's a lot of words for you so i'll keep it simple here at the end - You stupid, trump has to know to be guilty, this is witchhunt1 point

Maybe someday you'll realize you're an 1diot but i doubt it. From your own source: "But in an astonishing recent Ha’aretz interview, after summarizing his new research, Morris proceeds to argue for the necessity of ethnic cleansing in 1948. He faults David Ben-Gurion for failing to expel all Arab Israelis, and hints that it may be necessary to finish the job in the future." So he literally argues that they weren't doing eithnic cleansing. Rape happens in war on both sides and is criminal and prosecuted when it's discovered. Unless you can point me to evidence that the Israeli gov't ORDERED soldiers to rape people then it's irrelevant. Gaza DID ORDER the slaughter of civilians. So - basically what you're trying to say is that because almost 100 years ago something happened, that means that today people who were not even alive there are comletely justified in raping and deliberately targeting civilians AND burning babies alive. Dude - that makes you a monster. And the people of gaza are also monsters worse than the nazi's if they believe that. Gaza started the war on oct 7th by deliberately intentionally targeting and slaughtering women and children and in some cases burning them alive. NOTHING - NOTHING that happened 100 years ago or even 50 years go or even 10 or 5 years ago justifies that behavior. It is the behavior of monsters, not humans. Israel has the right to self defense, and if there's a monster roaming about your country, you kill it. THey will now destroy hamas, and anyone who gets in between them and that goal, and those people literally brought this on themselves. Hamas should surrender tomorrow and spare it's people.1 point
