A precedent has been set. Rouleau justified the use of the Emergencies Act, not because the Freedom Convoy was a threat, but because the government failed in their duties at all levels. Government Incompetence is now the threshold for suspending Civil Liberties in Canada. It means the government can screw up so badly that it incites anger nationwide & the precedent now is that it gives them power to take your rights away, when they lose control of a situation of their own making. We haven't seen the last of its use. I found the report quite contradictory in many places. Just one example, Trudeau said he couldn't meet with the protesters because there was no defined "leader" of the group. Then arrested Tamara Lich for being the leader of the group. The report was exactly what everyone said it would be and expected it to be, given Rouleau is a long-time fundraiser for the Liberal party and Trudeau's uncle, by marriage. This will be going to court in April (?I think? need to double-check). Rouleau was not mandated to determine legality. That's the court's job.3 points

I get that's your opinion, and I know that you arrived at it fairly, from watching the Russian collusion show trial and hearing about how Trudeau did so well against covid and Trump so poorly, but that was all spin. Fact is that Trump actually was a better president than Biden in every way, and Biden is a huge liar. The gullible mo0n is you, dude. Sorry.1 point

I wouldn’t be too hard on the policies of Britain and France before WWII. Neither had recovered from the uniquely horrendous shock of WWI at that stage, especially France, and all senior politicians had been personally affected by the war. Even the Russians were anxious not to face the Wehrmacht again. Indeed, once the war started, both America and Britain were by no means eager for a rematch in France. Churchill remained obsessed by the soft underbelly strategy which led to a two year campaign in Italy, while the invasion of Western Europe was postponed until Russia was clearly winning in the East. Naturally, it was difficult for diplomats in London and Paris to believe that the other party in negotiations was willing to repeat such a disaster on European soil and might even welcome that outcome.1 point

You are objectively worthless. Every post you make is full of lies and misinformation and everyone is worse off for having read them. No need to see them anymore. Ignored.1 point

Unsubstantiated? I like how the effete elites of Germany and France sneered at CIA claims Russia was going to invade Ukraine. Until they did just that. Now they've caused untold tens of thousands of deaths and you still think it's 'unsubstantiated'. The intellectual and moral bankruptcy of the 'peace at any cost' crowd was thoroughly exposed before WW2. You have to be utterly ignorant of history as well as a moral vacuum to embrace such beliefs in the modern age.1 point

There is a crisis in Canada and not enough attention is paid to it. While housing prices are almost doubled past 5 years, rental prices are going through the ceiling all over Canada specially in Toronto and Vancouver where a one bedroom rental is over $3000 monthly. Situation in the rest of Canada is not much better as average rental price in Canada is over $2400. This means one has to have an income of over $100,000 before tax in order to be able to rent an average apartment or house in big cities and less than 10% have such privilege. Governments at different levels are not doing enough. In fact the Federal policy on interest rates helps to deepen this crisis as mortgage rate rises people can't afford to buy houses so they go for rentals instead and the large number of immigrants the Federal government is importing into Canada also contributes significantly to aggravating the crisis.1 point

The national debt is the the money owed from deficit spending. It was FDR who first spent in deficit during peacetime. It was LBJ who exploded the debt with the welfare spending and the Vietnam War. The LAST time the budget was balanced was in 1969 under NIXON and during the Vietnam War Today ENTITLEMENTS make up 70 percent of the budget, and it's ALL DEMOCRAT SPENDING. Unelected Joe BLASTED the budget with those stimulus checks, which paid everyone not to work. INFLATION resulted, because he flooded the money market with dollars, MAKING THEM USELESS. It didn't help that his caused the price of oil to SKYROCKET, by shutting down pipelines. Get your head out of your ass.1 point

Yes I know the shtick. "WALLS DON'T WORK!" Among the dumbest lies ever sold to the American public. Trump didn't have time to finish the wall. Biden managed to sieze power, halted the completion of the wall, wasting untold millions, opened the border and invited the world to come and simply say, "I AM A REFUGEE" It's a sickening story and has produced sickening results. Just like everything Biden touches.1 point

This chart will invalidate your arguments. The vaccines were extremely effective at saving lives during the omicron outbreak a year ago, and still help reduce deaths, especially among the elderly. Can't tell if this is trolling or a real question. Regardless of party, billionaires (or the wealthy in general) will always have an outsized voice in politics. There's one party though that, as a matter of policy, is dedicated to serving the rich, and they managed to convince almost half of the peasantry that supply side economics was good for them. Cut taxes on the wealthy and some of it will trickle down to you! Sure it will. Just don't mind the smell.1 point

Amazing how they can't seem to even attempt to arrest some truckers, but when they want to give us parking tickets to fill their coffers, or organize lockdowns, or secretly track our cellphone movements during those lockdowns without our consent, or give out hundreds of billions in COVID benefits, or force some of us to take vaccines, they're suddenly really efficient at it.1 point

I think the government is highly competent in being corrupt self-serving careerist a-holes who care about their own jobs more than their country. Soldiers risk their lives and mental health for their country. Politicians won't even risk their jobs for the good of their country.1 point

Really, we're ALL lucky. Lucky the survival rate is over 99% for most people and 98% for the elderly. Before covid, I never understood the people who angrily tried to figure out ? WHO GAVE ME THIS COLD!! ? I see those people are having their moment in the sun now.1 point

Anyone with ties to the CCP at this point should be removed from the country. If you're a naturalized Canadian citizen and you break your legal oath of citizenship and your allegiance to the Queen (and her heirs/successors) you should have your citizenship revoked and be deported. Bye. If you're a politician who breaks their oath you should be punished to the full extend of the law. The CCP is right to want the Liberals re-elected, they're a bunch of corrupt wusses and soft on security.1 point

Your mind and many others here was made up a long time ago. Bombarded by media that did not fact check all of their stories, and published a lot of false news about the entire convoy, things like Nazi flags, arson attempts, acts terrorism, not to mention the positive messages coming from the PMO office. Was the convoy a good idea not really...but it happened time to move on. Yes the residents have been traumatized, some of them in deep therapy from there experiences, all that noise day after day, how they were afraid to go out side, some crying for days on end, their lives turned upside down, I can not imagine how do they cope with daily city construction, or city noise themselves, there should be a huge compensation package, these people paid a price... ....because the conveyers were big bad men...lets not forget the big bad women, or those terrifying children running around yelling and screaming on bouncy castles and swimming in hot tubs. , all of whom for some reason are not in therapy at all, they managed to sleep in all this, but the people who chose to live there next to the parliament the center of the universe for our nation, home to every demonstration in the capitol , let alone all the holidays or musical festivals, held there each year...with much larger crowds than the convoy could ever imagine and some how after living through all that they have become damaged people becasue of big bad convoy people and their families......maybe they were inconvenienced, some even touched emotionally, and yet they choose to live there in a vast city where there are much quieter neighborhoods. maybe they should have atleast ask the question whats the neighborhood like... Nobody was held hostage... Ottawa citizens had complete freedom of movement, the police patrolling the streets made sure of that, Most citizens avoided going there due to the congestion and police barricades. sure there were a few asshats among the convoy crowd, I'm sure there was a few on the other side as well. Not all Ottawa citizens had a negative experience, there are thousands of video's out there of city residents going down town to have a look and actually enjoying themselves go F****ing figure. But that does not fit the media message does it.1 point

I watched enough to get the gist of it. They think that they need to get their settlers out of the west bank and back to the 1967 lines in order to have peace with the Palestinians. There are so many there now that it just keeps getting harder and harder to put the toothpaste back in the tube. Sure. Would it work? Would the Palestinians and their religious bigot horde all across the rest of the world support a peace deal with Israel? Absolutely not. They'd kill 8M Jews in a heartbeat and they'd never feel bad about it. Have you not been watching? Does Pakistan have remembrance ceremonies for the 8 million that they committed genocide against in 1947? Do they have remembrance ceremonies for the 3 million that they killed in a second genocide in 1971? Do you think they'd care if they massacred another 8M people? Of course not. If you don't know that then you don't know the ME/far east. Aside from that, these are 6 guys who feel bad at the end of their careers about all the killing they did. I get that it was probably a lot, and that it's always emotional for people who were raised with some form of regard for life. Even the most violent bigots that they kill suddenly understand the value of life, and feel uncertainty about life after death, when they have a gun in their face, but if you don't kill them then they show up at an Ariana Grande concert with some bombs. What do ya do? It's kind of easy, but at the same time, it's just not, because you can't put your humanity on hold to do your duty. It's hard for them not to think about the faces of the men they killed, or the crying kids left behind when they dragged a 'daddy' to jail for his role in a terrorist attack. That's all an aside though, because the fact remains, we shouldn't have rags like the G & M here glorifying violent bigotry/terrorists. Right? Not at all. And I'll say it again - that wasn't a "brave 13 yr old", that's a human that has been raised to be a violent bigot since he was born. He's not like you or I. Getting a career and raising a family aren't goals for him. He will consider himself a failure if he doesn't murder people because of their religion. Peace is not on his radar. While your mom and dad were raising you to play with other kids and get along, kids like him were being raised to hate Jews like cancer, and to kill them whenever possible. You can be glad that you weren't raised to be a violent bigot, but if you were, there's a really huge chance that you'd be a violent bigot. One more thing - there's no such thing as "Palestinian refugee camps". They've had since 1950 to find a home, when there were less than 800,000 of them. The Pakistanis killed ten times that many people in just one of their genocides, they should be glad the Israelis are their "enemies". Think how many refugees from islamic state were re-settled in different countries in just a year... Why couldn't the Palestinians find homes in 70 years????? (And why did muslims have to flee from islamic state in the first place? They weren't in nearly as much danger as Hindus and Sikhs were from Pakistan's armies.) The 'Palestinian refugees' are just political pawns used to foment hatred against Israel. You should feel sad for the Israelies because eventually there will be a massive slaughter. If not in our lifetimes, definitely at some point in the future. Hatred against them is just too strong, and it only takes 1 really bad day for their defences to be overrun. They can't defy the odds for 1,000 years, and violent religious bigotry isn't going out of style. Hell, islamic state almost took over two large countries in the last decade. Genocide isn't the rare bird we'd all like to believe.1 point

Do you have any concept how unfair, denigrating, and judgemental your comments are? The protest was against vaccine mandates and restrictions at a time when Omicron was the mild unstoppable variant the vaccines did little to quell. The Liberal party that I always thought was at the centre has become a tyrannical leftist party of ridiculousness. The Convoy protests were understood even on the US intellectual left as a peaceful protest against government overreach. The blockades were the worst aspect of it, but they were removed before the declaration of martial law. Anyone honest with a reasonable perspective saw what unfolded. The inquiry was the official state whitewashing by Liberal loyalists.1 point

Biden armed the Taliban. And there is MORE war in the world, under his unelected incompetent watch. Trump praised everybody. It was his style of negotiation. It was backed up by strength. That's why you didn't see Russian aggression under Trump. Reagan was the same way. Very affable, but with strength to back it up. Biden doesn't even know where he is. Russia could launch a major nuke strike, and Biden would probably have forgotten that he was holding the launch codes.1 point

you can't trust the Executive obviously, as we are being shown that the PM is effectively above the law you can't trust the Legislature, as we are being shown that it cannot hold any public official accountable and you can't trust the Judiciary, since it is clear that the judges are in the pockets of the politicians so that's all three branches of government compromised what's left ? what is left of Canada worthy of being defended & upheld ?0 points

Without the Bible you probably wouldn’t have the laws and institutions that ushered in our rights and freedoms, which are based quite heavily on Judeo-Christian values. They derive from the Commandments and customs of the Levant and the story of the liberation of the Israelites, who become generalized to the people in the New Testament. Your ignorance is staggering, but it illustrates how ignorant many people are about the origins of our civilization and why so many revolutionaries think that it should be torn down. Actually it’s not just our civilization’s institutions, whether republic or constitutional monarchy, that derive from Biblical scripture and cultural history from the stories of Genesis to Exodus and the rest of the Pentateuch through to the prophets and New Testament gospels, letters, etc. The anti-slavery movements of liberation relate closely to stories of Babylonian, Persian, Egyptian. and Roman captivity/enslavement. In fact, much of what you are drawing on in the unusual instances when your criticisms are intelligible derive from Biblical values. Many early Biblical stories are found in multiple religions, sometimes with modifications. Three major world religions share the Old Testament. But in your supposedly sensible modern and “progressive” opinion none of that Great Code has value and it doesn’t inform our culture. Read Dante, Milton, Spencer, St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, and pretty much everything written in the West in the past 2000 years and you’ll see the origins. Israel also carried on important Hellenic traditions that derive from the earliest democracies in Greek city states. The main reason I have such disdain for your comments is their uninformed dismissiveness. You exemplify the nihilism and ignorance that’s basically running roughshod over much of what is valuable in Canada today. But you know, down with the patriarchy and all that. You won’t figure it out until you’re enslaved hoping someone will cry, “Let my people go.” Because so many younger people don’t know their origins today, I can see real hardships ahead. A society that doesn’t know its history is doomed to repeat it.-1 points

Apparently, support for Russia is growing around the world. During a pro-Russian march in front of the Russian consulate in Sydney, Australian colonel, great patriot and One Party leader Ricardo Bosi stated, among other things: "The Russians are fighting the Khazarian mafia on their own land." This is how a morally credible man, a real soldier and patriot talks.-1 points
