  1. Let's get this straight. Trump's allowed to lie that the election was stolen but Biden isn't allowed to call him out?

  2. 1. And he's not allowed to do that ? 2. I never have, no. 3. No, not half... a diminishing minority 4. Calling out the MAGA movement. You folks call Liberals and Democrats "Marxists". I suppose you're right that unity has been irreparably damaged though. I guess it came down to fight fire with fire. My understanding is that Biden has hired a bunch of Maga-type communications experts but for the other side, ie. his side. Too bad

  4. WTF? Can you imagine being depressed and in pain and having a Dr or other medical professional advising you to kill yourself? This is akin to the leftist governments who are talking about school counsellors having conversations with children about possible gender reassignment, and freezing parents out of the equation. Children and mentally handicapped/depressed adults shouldn't be getting such destructive advice from Drs and counsellors whom they perceive to be powerful and knowledgeable. I wonder how likely Drs are to give wealthy people who can afford multiple costly prescriptions (and whose families can lawyer-up) the same advice...

  9. William Barr, who was Former President Donald Trump’s attorney general until the final months of his administration, appeared Friday to defend the Department of Justice’s decision to raid Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home and seize thousands of records. “I think the driver on this from the beginning was loads of classified information sitting in Mar-A-Lago,” Barr said in a Fox News interview. “People say this was unprecedented, well, it’s also unprecedented for a president to take all this classified information and put them in a country club, okay?” Barr said. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/02/trump-ex-attorney-general-bill-barr-defends-fbi-search-of-mar-a-lago.html

  10. I agree with this. If I was asked to turn over all emails related to a certain person, I would know that means ALL correspondence that relates to that individual. I think AHS knows this too - it's commonsense - but they want to drag this out as long as possible in the hopes that Chris Scott runs out of money or just gives up.
    1 point
  11. You're a joke. Bottom line is the AHS illegally withheld evidence, the evidence which they will be turning over will be allowed to be presented as evidence in court, and it's 100% reasonable to question their intentions at this point.

  16. Given the MAGA cult refuse to accept that an election was lost two years later despite no evidence to the contrary, despite major Republican figures and Trump loyalists telling them so, certainly makes them seem pretty extreme. Especially when they've spent the last two years desperately trying to get rid of the Republicans at the state level who were in charge of the elections and refused to cheat on Trump's behalf. And who have they replaced them with? MAGA people who deny the election in their own state was fair. And why? The only logical answer is they expect that come next election these new people will do what needs doing to push their guy over the top and not worry about stuff like laws or constitutions. I'd say extremist is a fair description.

  17. I know that if you knew what you were talking about, your post wouldn't be so idiotic. I said "Russian collusion pre-dawn raid", it's right there in your quote, and it's 100% accurate, genius. The FBI had CNN tag along with them for a pre-dawn raid on Roger Stone's home. The FBI deemed it so dangerous that they needed to have a bunch of automatic weapons locked and loaded but they still had reporters there... hmmm. All for a smear campaign which the FBI knew to be meritless, and where they committed crimes in order to get warrants to spy on members of Trump's campaign. Nothing in the rest of your post was pertinent to anything that I said in my post. I'm not limiting my criticism of the FBI to their Russian collusion witch hunt at all. I wouldn't impugn the integrity of the FBI, formerly one of the world's most respected police forces, just for that one sad episode. The FBI has outed themselves as political actors and the evidence is ubiquitous, overwhelming and incontrovertible.

  18. From the testimony I heard, yes - AHS was requested to produce all emails associated with Chris Scott's case. They did provide some. But in the first day's trial, it was discovered that there were email exchanges related to the case that were not turned over. So the second day was adjourned until the additional emails are located. It appears to me that they already "picked and chose" what emails to share. During the first day's testimony, officers and health inspectors reported additional email exchanges that AHS did not include in the original request, so court is adjourned until they are provided.

  23. “Murica” became a banana republic the moment a narcissist with a populist rhetoric reminiscent of Maduro in Venezuela entered the political stage. The fact that MAGA folks are unable to see Trump for what he really is, is astounding. He has a solid cult following of people who have given up on any semblance of critical thinking. Up in arms because of what the FBI did in Maralago? The CIA has been doing similar overseas for decades! The only difference is that the veil has been lifted and some Americans are finally aware of the stench coming out from within the USA. And let’s not forget Biden is a disgrace and Democrats are way over their head with no viable options… poor Murica! But in all fairness, the only country able to bring down the USA is the USA… and they’re well on their way to doing just that. Cheers!

  24. I think that if you stuck to facts instead of inflammatory exaggerations, maybe you wouldn’t feel so upset. You said the FBI and MSM conducted a pre-dawn raid on Mar-a-Lago. None of that is true. The FBI executed a search warrant at 9:00am. Where I live, the sun is up by 9:00am. The FBI did not “raid” Mar-a-Lago. They knocked on the door, served the warrant, and conducted a search. The MSM was informed of the search by Mr. Trump. The FBI did not announce the search; it was Mr. Trump who did. Why did the FBI search for the documents? It’s because the National Archives ASKED, over and over, for the return of government documents, which were not Mr. Trump’s property whether they were classified or not. They got a court order for the documents to be returned, then they traveled at taxpayer expense to retrieve the documents. Mind you… that’s all special treatment. When they got the documents, they found that many of them were highly classified, and per Federal law, they were obligated to report this to law enforcement. The agents contacted Trump and returned to Mar-a-Lago last June to pick up the last remaining documents… which should have never been at Mar-a-Lago and which should have already been returned to the Archives. At this time, agents obtained more classified documents, AND received a sworn affidavit that all records had been returned. FBI then learned that classified material was still present at Mar-a-Lago. Perhaps a Secret Service agent reported this; we don’t know who. But based on the evidence, they obtained a search warrant, they didn’t raw their guns, then didn’t burst in, they didn’t toss smoke grenades or flash bangs, no, sorry, they didn’t raid the place, they simply showed up, served the warrant, and, as per the US Constitution, searched the stated place for the things they believed to find… which they found. There is no US law that says Donald Trump or former Presidents are allowed to break laws. What’s odd here is that the Feds had not charged him despite the obvious commission of crime. They just wanted the stuff back. They asked. They asked again. Then they showed up. Then they were lied to. Then they searched, and it was Trump who announced that he’d been searched. We don’t know if the DOJ will charge Trump in this, but Trump has confessed to having classified information and he’s been the one publicizing this case, not the DOJ. It’s almost as if he wants to be prosecuted for it.

  25. Exactly. It's not about sticking a cliche, crying horrors but making things work. The bureaucracy doesn't know and forgot how to make things work and so it sticks to cliches and horrors. Naturally. Why bother? Nothing changes (for it) anyways.

  28. On the one hand, I do think this. It's not like he trampled her with a riot horse. He didn't seize her bank account. He didn't force her to submit to an experimental medical procedure or else lose her job. And he didn't approach her. With that big smirk on her face the whole time, it didn't appear to me that she was "scared". But then, from a woman's standpoint, you never know what an angry man will do. With Trudeau being run out of so many places and being met with angry, screaming mobs everywhere he goes (I saw video from him in Toronto yesterday where an angry mob was screaming at him), you'd think the government might think this is a red flag that maybe they're doing something wrong.

  33. The truth is that the Liberals are reaping what they sowed. Trudeau and Freeland have been supremely arrogant and inconsiderate of how their policies have impacted people. They didn’t listen to the legitimate concerns of people who opposed mandates and they treated the protesters like criminals and pariahs, both publicly humiliating them and criminalizing the protest. Freeland isn’t a likeable person. I used to respect her intelligence, but she’s a mean-spirited professional politician. That man shouldn’t have insulted her, but the question she and all of us should be asking is. why is this man so angry? I don’t think his frustration is unique. The wounds inflicted by this government are deep. I was a Liberal member who knew my MP and had regular correspondence with MLA’s. I’ll probably never vote Liberal again after this past several months. The government appears to have contempt for a large segment of the population. I still think that if the Senate had backed the Emergencies Act (Trudeau was given word that the voting sentiment was going against him, so he canceled it two days after the House approved it), we would have seen far more totalitarian behaviour. I consider Trudeau and the Singh NDP’s propping up this incompetent government total frauds, but they’ve managed to maintain enough fear — of Covid and Conservatives — to keep enough of the public on-side. The media have basically amplified the fear. As people’s finances tumble and people see how our meritocracy has been replaced by identity politics, it will be harder for the government to maintain itself, especially if they persist with idiot programs like ArriveCAN that have made Canada a laughingstock among free democracies. Freeland and Trudeau are inextricably linked to such programs.

I'm also sure the ladies in the elevator had a good laugh over it once the door closed, or at the very least call him a few names... Have we become so thin shined that were need protection detail at the cost of millions and millions of dollars. And now parliament is considering protection for all MP's. They are public figures, and this is the risk of their service. 35. You shouldn't have gone all declarative like that because now you're just gonna get hoisted on your own petard again. FYI the evidence in question definitely can be used because it was formally requested by the defence attorneys before the trial began (as per Goddess's post). That means that handing it over was a mandatory legal requirement. The fact that the prosecution disobeyed the law isn't surprising though, because that's the way this whole debacle was handled by our government and the police. And I just gotta ask, wtf do you think the judge wanted the emails if they weren't going to count as evidence? Does he just have too much time on his hands, and he wants to read a bunch of emails just for shits and giggles? Did he ask for a copy of War and Peace in Russian too, plus a Russian - English dictionary?

  38. It wasn't just the new ranked choice voting that was the problem. It was unverified mail-out ballots. Can't blame the Dems this time though. It was the RINOs. Doesn't matter. Murkowski's crowd sold out Alaska. Alaska is a Democrat state now. Most likely forever. It's California north. And the RINOs are to blame. Something has to be done about them. The midterms in general are in jeopardy for Republicans now if McConnell and that whole crew of RINOs don't get some major pushback.

  47. There was an example in this very thread, where a routine operation years on a public waiting list was done in three weeks. It doesn't mean "privatize everything" or throw away. But it means that it can work, a fact and shouting "horror private" won't do anything to change it; and if it still wouldn't work after decades of near crisis condition and throwing uncounted public billions (what trillions already?) 'fixing for generation' there has to be a reason. So thinking, objective and independent is called for but where can it be found, here? What if you have a watch that shows you wrong time, or with a huge delay or both no matter how much $$$ you throw into fixing it? What do you do with a watch that stubbornly refuses to work as you want and need it to?
