  1. There were many businesses happy to serve the protesters and who did so until the government made it illegal. It’s a form of martial law when there’s no due process and laws are made up on the spot without Parliamentary debate then applied retroactively to “crimes” that were committed when they weren’t crimes. How sick and Orwellian. Would you like your previously legal activities to be declared illegal then be charged for crimes that didn’t exist? How about we freeze your bank account and suspend your license to work as a consequence? No, the government gets no cover on this. No way. This is the behaviour of arbitrary totalitarian regimes. If you want to pretend it’s a democracy, that’s one shit democracy.

  2. We now have the Marxist dictator in Ottawa trying to get a Bill passed in parliament called Bill C-11 which is meant to really control freedom of speech and censorship on the internet. Websites like this could be gone because you and me could be accused of trying to promote hatred against others because of our conservative opinions and points of view that will not be accepted nor tolerated in this now new normal Marxist Canada. Why we could possibly even see jail time also. Or this website could be reserved and used for lefty liberal socialist opinions and beliefs only. No political incorrect speech allowed or tolerated here. Hey, we never know, eh? We are now living in a new normal Canada today. We the people have a federal government that does not stand up for freedom of speech and rights for all anymore. Only those freedoms and rights of the left wing liberal/socialist side will be tolerated and allowed. In Calgary people who are protesting for free speech are being denied that right, while down the street, A Ukranian protest is all okay. Is there something wrong with this picture? I believe there is. It's called politics. ?

  3. Closing the Ambassador Bridge cost 1/60th of what Trudeau did to the oil patch, and you think that's cool but FYI $120 billion is kind of a bigger deal than $2 billion. So is having the whole world over Russia's barrel. Just for shits and giggles, who do you think really benefits from closing down Alberta's oil patch? Is it really the trees, and future generations, or is it Russia and Saudi Arabia? Please go on at length, I need a good laugh.

  4. Pretty sure Harper would have pushed Ford to do something about the Ambassador Bridge at least as fast as Trudeau. And again - I don't like Trudeau, but I am forced to call out ridiculous claims for the good of non-embarrassing dialogue on here.

  5. I'll bet much of it can be laid at the feet of the oligarchs we're laundering money for. Perhaps what we need is a law that restricts owners of property to only one residential property. I can already hear the battle cry against that echoing in the streets.... FRRREEEEEDOMMMMM!

  6. I’m hesitant to believe anything I see out of Ukraine right now. Truth is the first casualty of war. It’s certainly possible that this is all true, but I think everyone needs to pump the brakes a bit. But no, nobody should be found guilty. An investigation should be carried out, and if the end results means they’re guilty, than fine.

  7. Anyone catch the interview Jason Kenney did in a church of all places trying to say he's going to protect churches? Same man who erected a fence around GraceLife Church and arrested multiple pastors for the crime of providing pastoral care to parishioners during Covid? Same guy who threw a pastor in solitary confinement for protesting? The man's a fraud. Defies his own covid orders with his expensive supper at Sky Palace while there were restrictions. I hear the UCP will have him under leadership review.

  8. Here's yet another story about how disgusting people on the left can be. Radio talk show host, Stew Peters, had what appeared to be a leftist impersonate him, call the police, which then invoked the SWAT team to roll up at his door guns drawn. All in an effort to intimidate him and his family. I have never seen politics stoop to this level. Leftists have spewed vitriol into our discourse. I'm not surprised this is the level they are now stooping to. They can't disagree with someone without trying to destroy them.

  9. Solution to what? The feds are thinking about capital gains on primary residences only as a new source of revenue. This has nothign to do with affordability, density, housing starts etc, it is just a plain old money grab. If this goes through, it will not matter who is the next government, the tax will remain. I cannot think of any tax that has been repealed by a new government.

  12. Apparently there were thousands of protesters also crushed under the treads of tanks. I'd post the youtube video I saw of soldiers hosing off entrails and blood but the msm/big tech/government agency responsible for what we're allowed to see took it down.

  13. Yes but what about the $130 billion a year that's estimated to have been snow-washed into Canada on Trudeau's watch? Conservatives can do even better? Okay.

  14. It's not that different than what happened in 2008 in the US. It's not subprime lending, but overspeculation is indeed a house of cards and always has been. Homes are for people. Let's get some populism on this. But no, the rich elites always seem to get their way. Canadian banks and developers always seem to do so well.

  15. You forgot to mention all the businesses who had to close to prevent unmasked protesters from entering their property in defiance of public health orders. What about there freedom to make a living? If you own a business, you are required by law to protect your employees and customers. Nobody declared martial law. The Emergency Act is not martial law. The emergency Act did not infringe on anyone's charter rights. Several posts back, I saw references to BLM. WestCanMan wrote: "Are you honestly pretending to not know why people ended up in jail at the BLM riots? I'll give you a bunch of hints, because somehow you need them: -Assaulted civilians. -People beaten to death. -Buildings looted. -Buildings burned down. -Police officers assaulted. " Where did this happen? I do not recall a single instance of this anywhere in Canada.

  16. That’s exactly right. Trudeau made up a new story about the E Act working its magic two days after voting to extend it 30 days ONLY because he knew it wouldn’t get through the Senate. He was warned and rescinded the order to control the narrative. 100%

  17. You still haven't sourced your claim specifically about the Ottawa protest. Trudeau called it an "Emergency" then put it to a debate where it looked like it would be shot down in the senate. Only then did Trudeau cancel the fake emergency

  18. The basic sense of this post - which I agree with - is that ANY system will provide equitable and satisfactory results if it runs perfectly and matches the values of the participants and stakeholders. After all - what does "fair" really mean and doesn't it matter more that the participants THINK it's fair than it matches some abstract equation. Is Canada "socialist" because it offers public healthcare, or "capitalist" because of low taxation, low barriers to entry and low government involvement in business ? As you point out - it's not inherently good or evil, just how you use the tools and how people think of the system in the end.

  19. It had at least one lane open for most of the blockade and other crossings were open in Sarnia and Windsor. The tragedy of the freedom convoy isn’t honking horns or temporary blockage at the border. It was the disregard and disparagement by Canadian political leadership of millions of Canadians, followed by the use of force against peaceful protesters raising legitimate concerns. The freezing of bank accounts and continued refusal of government to discuss the lifting of mandates and vaccine passports is an unprecedented assault on Canadian democracy, which has arguably died as evidenced by these events. You may not think what happened is a big deal, but millions of Canadians and foreigners do. It’s soured many people on Canada and shaken confidence in our banks and government institutions.

  28. If they don't like it they can sell their homes at a healthy profit and move to rural areas. Sticking to single family homes as a reasonable housing option for a growing population is precisely why real estate is so expensive. That's Bullshit. You can't even define what it is to be Canadian. Something pretty solidly Canadiana has always been Tim Hortons. . . until brown people started serving the coffee it appears.

  37. "assuming they're white"??? Why...what an utterly Tweenkie thing to say. The Holy Race Card. Its old and withered now Bogus. Nobody cares. I noticed many years ago in my travels, that "service" is a dirty word in much of the world. While we've come accustom to "service with a smile", much of the world produces "service with a sneer". Canada needs a real leader who will shut down this tap of completely unqualified migrants once and for all. "But...but...but...they're REFUGEES!" Ya know what...Fuck the Gawd Damn "REFUGEES"! Fuck them. Fuck their free housing. Fuck their attitudes. Fuck 'em all. This is Canada. We built a very affluent nation and now Pixie-Dust and his doo-wop singers are diluting it by bringing in people who have FAILED at making an affluent nation. 42. Well, I am sure you can get certification for being clinically insane. Imagine I start raping girls but before doing it I offer them a choice - they agree to be raped or they get killed. Most will chose to be raped, and those who wanted to be killed, I kill. Following your own logic, at the end of the day nobody can touch me and charge me with either rape or murder, because I "gave them options". And because every choice has consequences.

  43. Good news - part of that is due to the fact that there are [theoretically] far more vaxed than unvaxed. Get a healthy bit of sunshine. Take Vit D and a bit of Zinc. Try not to remain sedentary. Eat less meat and more vegetables. Get some daily exercise, even if that's just 1/2 an hour long walks [if you can manage it]. I've heard doctors say that if you can walk 100 yards in under five minutes, you are 300 times more likely to live another 3 years than if it takes you over six minutes to walk the same distance. That's under five versus over six. Don't force yourself to go that far in under 5 minutes if it's too hard at first, but if you're in the over 6 boat then covid is just one of a myriad of things that can kill you. I'm sorry but there's no easy way to say it. I'm 53 and my dad and both grandfathers died at 65 or younger. The clock is ticking for me too. On the bright side, all of the things that you need to do to fight off cancer, diabetes and heart disease are the same things that you need to do to get your body in shape to fight off covid.

  45. 1. The domestic issues of a country neither concerns FIFA nor America/west. 2. That happened not because they were women, but because there was a mess and they didn't expect such a population goes there after the Covid restrictions were lifted. 3. The governor of the city apologized the people for that, and the president condemned this event abd said that the person or people who are responsible for this should be punished. 4. I don't know why people rather to parrot whatever their medias say rather than thinking independently, the regime has right of the bat been chosen by the people! 98% of the Iranians voted for the Islamic Republic of Iran in the referendum that was held in the early days of the revolution. 5. OMG, these American medias lie like a rug!! I can't help myself with laughter, IRGC is a military organization, and would never show up at such an event, the security of stadium concerns the local police not IRGC!! This is like a Math Professor teaches a first grade school kid! The biggest terrorist ever existed on the earth is the US itself that the number of the wars it has ever waged and the people it has ever killed isn't countable! Lol! Lol! Lol! May I ask since when the Iranintl website which is being funded by the nasty Saudi regime is the voice of Iran? This is your source? Yeah, here we go, Pahlavi (Shah) had an organization established by MOSSAD and CIA named SAVAK that tortured and killed all of the opponents of the dictatorship of the Shah/King of that time, have these hellish liar American/Saudi/Zionist media ever talked about the number of innocent teenagers, elders, men and women that had been tortured or killed by SAVAK? Why these liars never talk about the economic wealth of people in 1970? The Saudi Arabia that till a few months ago didn't let its women to drive car, now has become source of news about Iran?? Come on please, till when do you want to listen to these lies? Why these liars never talk about the massive number of the Iranians killed by the US so far? Why never talk about the innocent patients who have rare disease like EB and because their medicines are sanctioned by the US and Europe they die or loose a part of their body? Be reasonable, no part of these fairy tales add up! Stop reading these lies, they nuke your brain!

  46. I feel bad for people - really all of us - who have been mentally and emotionally abused by all this fear-mongering. We all live our lives making decisions based on what level of personal risk we are each willing to dare. We all have a faaaaaarrrrr greater chance of being killed in a car accident than dying of covid, yet we don't stop driving. Some of us skydive, bungee jump, scuba dive, skidoo in the mountains, dirt bike in forests, drive motorcycles int he summer, MMA fight, drink too much on a weekend, eat too many burgers and not enough veggies.....lots of far more riskier behaviours and activities than not wearing a mask for a virus with an over 99% survival rate. It doesn't stop us from LIVING OUR LIVES. Go live your life, Citizen. Let go of the irrational fear, stop watching MSM, go out at night and look at the stars, contemplate and cultivate gratefulness for being alive, instead of fear of death. {{{HUG}}}

  47. To the question, was Covid a part of god‘s plan, I suppose the unspoken assumption is made that God is in control of the world and its events that transpire. And God was, or was not surprised by Covid. As I’m a Christian, you are going to be a little puzzled to hear me say that God is not in control of world events, and didn’t unleash Covid. Its because of free will, and God’s design for His creation to either love and accept His gift, or reject it all and say He doesn’t exist. If God forced His creation to love Him, that isn’t really love, is it? Kind of like how people in North Korea “love” their dictators. The evil that exists in the world is because of those that choose to chase after things that destroy them. I could really go off on a lot of rabbit trails at this point, but I’ll refrain to focus, at least for the time being, on Covid. Covid was designed in a lab and not by God. I view it as evil to mess with viruses, to “add function”, which makes a virus spread more easily. Evil organizations and people, doing things that would have disastrous results if their Frankenstein gets loose. And then whipping up vaccines to profit off the calamity. Disgusting. I’ll try to add more later on, as this post may generate more questions than answers…

  48. It seems that this is not always true. It is a shame to build an immoral theology on an outright and demonstrable lie. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6172100/ Results Suggesting the Reality of Near-Death Experiences Lucid, organized experiences while unconscious, comatose, or clinically dead Near-death experiences occur at a time when the person is so physically compromised that they are typically unconscious, comatose, or clinically dead. Considering NDEs from both a medical perspective and logically, it should not be possible for unconscious people to often report highly lucid experiences that are clear and logically structured. Most NDErs report supernormal consciousness at the time of their NDEs. Near-death experiences often occur in association with cardiac arrest. Prior studies found that 10–20 seconds following cardiac arrest, electroencephalogram measurements generally find no significant measureable brain cortical electrical activity. A prolonged, detailed, lucid experience following cardiac arrest should not be possible, yet this is reported in many NDEs. This is especially notable given the prolonged period of amnesia that typically precedes and follows recovery from cardiac arrest. Scientists call these events near death, because they can't admit that people who have died can return to life. People who have no brain activity for extended periods of time are not near death, they are dead. To return, and have lucid recollections means that they did not stay dead.
