That is a gross misrepresentation of the facts. It all depends on what the purpose of the taxes is and how the money is planned to be spent. If it is to redistribute the wealth then that is Marxism or Socialism and is evil. It's like stealing other people's property to equalize the wealth. It is criminal. Some taxes are necessary for essential services like roads, fire department and police department. Nobody would disagree with that. There is no other way to live in a civilized society without basic essential services. But when it becomes ideologically Socialism for the purpose of providing everything to everyone, such as the taxpayers paying for housing, health care, pharmacare, dental care for everyone, whether they want to work or not, then is becomes stealing. There is a line that should not be crossed. The Bible says if a man will not work let him not eat. That's an important principle. Why should anyone work or improve their skills and education if the state is going to provide everything. Get off your lazy ass and get a job.2 points

Yes philosophical institutions more so than Christians. My grandfather worked on the Universal Healthcare bill with Douglas back in the day. He'd be rolling over if he saw what happened to his party. We don't have a strong labour party anymore and that's part of the reason why we see all this sketchy stuff going on. The NDP is just woke advocates. A man who wears a 10k rollex and tells you the best way to best has prices is to purchase a 60k Tesla is not in touch with reality.2 points

First, the article is American. Secondly, it contradicts itself by saying socialism promotes materialism, yet it defends the accumulation of wealth. It is said in the Bible that it is harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven than for a camel to walk through the eye of a needle. Finally, the NDP are basically the political arm of the Christian Church in Canada. Tommy Douglas, Stanley Knowles, Ben Smiley, Peter Prebble, Fr. Bob Ogle to name a few of the clergy who have been prominent in the NDP.2 points

There are many bills in the House of Horrors on Par"lie"ment ILL being proposed to take away more rights and freedoms from freedom loving peasants like me and you. Just wait until the fall gets here when the Marxist liberals and the NDP communists try and bring in digital ID(tracking)and digital currency(no cash)and a social credit system(be a good boy and girl or no cookies for you)to boot. You will be downgraded every time you displease your Marxist political masters. Comrade Doug Ford is already talking about digital ID for Ontario this fall. Boy, we thought covid mandates and restrictions were bad enough, but just wait until the digital program gets going into gear here in Canada. MH, Moonboxer and Jackieboy will surely love to see that happen. They probably have already applied for their hammer and sickle digital arm band and are ready to go and parade around with their new digital mark of the beast 666 uniform. Just saying. LOL.1 point

Those direction stickers got me into a lot of covid arguments. When I was only four feet away from some mask nut ball, I was pretty much given the finger. She told me the F-OFF and I did not. Boy, was she ever pissed off. I loved it. ?1 point

And why is that?? Because of a bank? Or because of consumer greed? Or because of not living with their means? Or because wanting and buying things they cannot afford? Going into debt is a personal decision.1 point

The Chretien Liberals ran a large surplus during some of the best times since the post-war era, and the main reason the Harper Conservatives ran deficits was because of that unfortunate financial crisis thingy. The Liberals in Canada ran huge deficits long after the crisis has passed and when an even worse crisis came along we really had nowhere else to go. Fiscal stimulus during good times are a blueprint for bad policy and Trudeau's Liberals have been champions of it.1 point

Cope harder. The world isn't against you. Your failures in life are of your own making. It wasn't the WEF, the WHO, the woke mob, the Banks or the Liberals.1 point

Do you think paying taxes is "stealing"? Or is it only stealing if it helps people who are disadvantaged in some way?1 point

You’re so obviously a Marxist-Nihilist. I still think you’re on the Chinese Communist Party payroll. If you aren’t, you should seriously consider a career overseas.1 point

The Liberals and NDP are leaders in the woke-nihilist movement of racial determinism, collectivization, and redistribution of earnings from workers to the state. By calling all family and community events and institutions colonial and patriarchal, we no longer have the important guideposts that provide direction to people: family dinners, religious milestones, and community gatherings. They are being replaced with the belief that your race/gender/ethnicity/sexual orientation/sexual identity determines your level of victimhood and therefore how much you deserve in reparations from the funds collected from workers. There’s no belief in the freedom of the individual to chart a course beyond what the state defines based on your intersectionality caste. Without the great stories of heroism from over the ages that we learn from religious and mythological texts, without any sense of important family and community time or a sense of the sacred, we lapse into a sense of meaninglessness and relativism. Your only import becomes as a human resource in material production for the state, which decides what is priority because there’s no authority beyond the political leader. This is apparent in Maoism, the Soviet Union, Cuba, and now Canada. We have two cults driving the woke-green revolution: the science of health/climate purity and the pseudoscience of racial determinism. Trudeau, Freeland, and Singh play lead roles in this global Marxist-Nihilist crusade. Protect your freedoms and your property because both are under threat. “You will have nothing and be happy.”1 point

Taxes = stealing okay. Got it. Things are so simple when you can just reduce them down to absurdity. Such a comfy place for you, I bet.1 point

Do you know what a slave is? Essentially it's property - somebody with no rights, at the whim of their owner can be beaten or killed. Their life depends on the goodwill of their owner. (Though to give the bible credit, it offered some protections and IIRC, the possibility of freedom after a certain time.) Being in debt is not slavery. Having a job to pay those debts (or buy luxuries) is not slavery. And many people in Canada are debt-free. Renters especially have the opportunity to be debt-free.1 point

Nobody is arguing that isolation is healthy. That's why solitary confinement is such a problem in prisons. The argument is that you're not socially isolated just because you can't crowd together in pews with a hundred other people during a pandemic. How did all of these other worshippers in Canada survive?1 point

And here I thought the Old Testament no longer applied because Jesus. So if the OT still applies, why don't we have slaves, multiple wives/concubines and eat pork? Many places in the bible advocate helping the needy and poor; why would Jesus differentiate between individuals and leaders?1 point

The Nissan Leaf is probably the worst EV out there. And a 2013 to boot. Infant technology at the time. A lot of the issues with EVs have arose from Tesla. They're good at "innovation" but most will agree they're a rather shitty car company. All the real car companies are getting on board with new EVs they can't keep in stock. The Toyota Corolla is probably the lamest car there is. And even that starts at just 20k. Most car companies are getting out of that market. You're much better off buying a better quality used ICE or Hybrid if your budget is under 20k. ALSO, something you haven't mentioned is that most EVs have their batteries warrantied for 8 years plus now. So it's very unlikely someone will be stuck with a $15,000 expense on a new EV. There is much less upkeep with an EV because it has way fewer moving parts and fluids.1 point

Yes, sometimes it's completely normal. I often find myself craving it. Some of the happiest most memorable times of my life have been when I was in complete isolation. At sea for example...just me, the boat and barely another sign of humanity within sight for days. Distant lights on the horizon at best.1 point

The US govt is either lying when they say that they don't have bioweapons there or when they say that they have "research materials in the biolabs that they don't want Russia to get." All I'm doing is making you aware of the facts. Go cry to your mommy if you don't like facts, that's what this forum is for. The links have been posted here many times, you just need to tae a break from lying and look at them.1 point

The NDP are actually Marxists clothed in sheep's clothing. They like to claim how they are going to help those in need and less fortunate, but never tell you how much it is going to cost and who is going to pay for it. They avoid that end of the deal like the plague. But the truth is they will have to rob every working Canadian or anyone who has any money. They desire everyone to receive every imaginable social program, health care, dental care, pharmacare, housing, mental counseling, etc. etc.. But they don't tell you that government will have to rob every working person and taxpayer to pay for it all. On top of that they want to kill the oil and gas industry and put more regulations on everything that might emit some CO2 in the name of fighting climate change. These steps will mean ever-increasing gas and energy prices because the world is not going to stop using fossil fuels. There is no alternative. This will destroy the economy and the sources of revenue that government needs to pay for social programs. The energy industry pays billions of dollars each year in royalties and corporate taxes as well as income taxes for the tens of thousands of workers. That will all disappear if the NDP / Liberals have their way.1 point

"So what does the Bible have to say about Socialism? The Bible tells us that Socialism is slavery and thievery. And anybody who has lived under Socialism can confirm it. Socialism destroys the Biblical work ethic and confiscates assets earned by producers and gives them to non-producers. This de-motivates producers and creates a cycle of sloth, poverty and dependence." What Does the Bible Say About Socialism? – Faith Founded on Fact Does the Bible Recommend Socialism? Socialism is supposedly the process which gets you to the end state of Communism Communism being the Socialist post scarcity utopia heaven on earth Socialism is the mechanism that ostensibly brings on the utopia by government central planning the evil comes when the utopia fails to arrive, when that government central planning doesn't work then the Socialists become Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong & Pol Pot their utopia is not at hand so you must be the problem then you infidels who doubt their utopia, it's your fault they blame you, for the failings of government centrally planned utopia's so they have to get rid of you somehow, because you expose their false idolatry death solves all problems, no man, no problem1 point

I hate government overreach. Our government is basically accumulating as much power as possible and trying to exclude the opposition from the economy. They use fear of planetary catastrophe and bad health, and tell lies about the opposition, to consolidate power and oppression. They’ve made a Faustian bargain with international bodies like the WEF to lend them international weight in exchange for our sovereignty and democratically elected authority. Canadians lose as freedoms are curtailed and real concerns like the cost of living are ignored in favour of green-woke totalitarian central planning. Sick.1 point

Nixing Bretton Woods lead to 50 years of constant inflation. I'm a Von Mises fan so that makes me not a fan of central banking and paper currencies. Nixon was one of the worst POTUS. The USA is going to lose its place in the world, which will result in a total break down of the world order. That will re-assert itself with China.1 point
