Is this what the Putin bots are on about now? Russiaphobia? Russia is a pariah state now. They wanted to diminish the unity of the West and their little invasion has done the exact opposite.4 points

I can't help but notice the rise of Russiophobia in this country. From the Russian theater being vandalized in Vancouver, to sports leagues refusing to draft Russian born players to stories like this one https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/vancouver-recital-society-cancels-performance-by-genius-russian-pianist?_ga=2.162885119.258220157.1646946529-638476670.1646946529&_gl=1*jsmc1m*_ga*NjM4NDc2NjcwLjE2NDY5NDY1Mjk.*_ga_9H6VPHFHKG*MTY0Njk0NjUyOS4xLjEuMTY0Njk0NzE3NS4w where artists are being cancelled due to their ethnicity. To Facebook temporarily allowing hate speech toward Russians. I can't help but wonder if Russiophobia is one of those "acceptable views" that Trudeau was talking about2 points

I think the reflective motives and repetitive talking points tell you something. It's still a good exercise to play narrative hockey against them.2 points

But to speak to the OP. Hate for Putin's Admin should not be conflated with hate for Russians. Putin will do more to Damage Russia's reputation than anyone in the West. Scores of Western Businesses will now refuse to do business in Russia because it's better business to oppose Russia than do business with them.2 points

Everybody else's job is easy lol. I coached my son's baseball team for a few years and that's just 12 kids doing something that they like for 90 minutes. Still, it's not easy. It can wear you down quite a bit. I don't really envy people who teach kids things that they don't necessarily like for 6.5 hrs, starting on a Monday morning.2 points

I used to watch Stephen Colbert. I can’t anymore. He has said some absolutely ridiculous things about being willing to pay $15 a gallon to have a clear conscience though he drives a Tesla. Just another out of touch rich brat, but he’s “green” so give him sainthood.2 points

Oh this is terrible. I can't help but feel some compassion for poor souls that are so tortured. It simply has to hurt. Can we please develop a vaccine for this TDS thing? I don't know if it's a pandemic but man...this is a cry for help.2 points

An electric car is out of the question for me as I have a 180km daily commute to and from work. The notion of having to add another half hour or more every two days to charge before I even get home won't work. I was car pooling with one other guy and now we have another to share the driving. This recent massive hike in the cost of gas will have a disproportionate effect on poor people but that means nothing to someone like Justin Trudeau who was fortunate to have been born into wealth. The nearest small town to me is about a 25 min drive. I used to think nothing of it to drive there on a weekend to shop but I will no longer take that drive. My car is a compact four cylinder. I don't see anything on the market that fits my budget and needs. Hyundai's two electric models are around 45 grand. The Nissan Leaf is too small and the range too little. Chevrolet's models are around 40 grand and then there's the iffy GM reliability. When there's an electric car for around 25 grand with 500km range then that will get my attention. The elephant in the room for more electric cars in the future is going to be the resistance from environmentalists to the most sensible source of electricity, nuclear. I might bite the bullet and retire earlier than I planned. I do think the Trudeau and Biden governments are privately thrilled about the price of gas now. The Ukrainians are so far up Joe Biden's ass it isn't funny. I know this will get me in a lot of trouble with my Ukrainian friends, but the Ukrainians gambled and lost. Trying to become part of NATO and bribing the dementia ridden Joe Biden.1 point

I can't help but wonder at how easily you've been duped by Vladimir Putin's propaganda machine. Maybe you watch too much Tucker Carlson. The ease at which you slurp nonsensical Russian and Chinese sources whilst dismissing anything from anywhere else in the world is beyond pathetic. Anyone who cries about freedom in Canada while boosting Putin's regime and parroting their (and Chinese) propaganda is morally stunted.1 point

Yes the fake conservatives on the right joined up with the progressives to create the narrative. John Bolton another piece of excrement you will notice is now a hero to the left wing media. They want war with Russia. They are maniacs.1 point

You could also work on that grammar. Or not, you may have enough on your plate with the paragraph thing. One thing at a time!1 point

well said, although I use the same concept, if the right says anything it's a lie and then work backwards from that, save a lot of time. since their whole beliefs across the board are lie based, actually lie based garbage.1 point

Russiophobia is as a direct result of murderous actions by Russian governments and Russian armies over the past many years and centuries and is very legitimate and has nothing to d with Trudeau. The whole world criticizing these murderous actions. I have to write a book to even summarize murderous actions by various Russian governments but I only summarized the most recent, Colonizing half the Europe for over half a century sponsoring the most oppressive governments in Eastern Europe Occupation of Afghanistan and killing of many civilians there even the use of toy bombs to specifically target and kill children. Killing of civilians in Chechnya and Georgia by Putin regime including the use of cluster bombs Invasion of Ukraine and indiscriminate bombing and killing of civilians. Their history is full of murders and killers killing even their own people who dared to oppose like Stalin did with his opponents. Russian army commits many rapes against defenseless civilians every time they occupy a territory.1 point

I don't think you understand the markets and how their values are determined. Biden spent his entire campaign telling people he was gonna shut down the oil industry. Fine oil companies. He killed the pipeline, revoked leases and sent signals that the USA was getting out of the oil and gas industry. THAT produced concern with investors and oil companies which in turn, drove the prices up. The markets are a fusion of fact and feelings. Biden's actions produced both bad facts and bad feelings about the state of the oil and gas markets. The Washinton Post...along with countless other unreliable rags...still push the Russia/Trump hoax. They still ignore Hunter's escapades. They compare January 6th to September 11th. They backed Jussie Smollet who just yesterday was sent to jail for a fake racially motivated attack...along with Michelle and countless others. Will that news make it to the pages of WAPO? If it does, it'll be buried on an unrelated page, in a very small column. Please don't take WAPO seriously...1 point

They approved drilling on land where there is no oil, you won’t get that from the Washington Post or the Biden admin. Look at US oil production per day/ per year under Trump in the last year after he was able to open things up. Compare that to current production where they are importing oil again to meet needs.1 point

NDP at election time: "The top priority for our military is to be more trans-friendly, and we also need to lower the requirements for combat trades so that women can qualify." If Quebec has problems with their government it's self-inflicted. They want their self-determination and the ROC has given it to them in spades. Any time they feel bothered they tell the ROC who then typically gives them what they want.1 point

Like Dr Peterson says, the wealthier you are the less it matters. People who were just barely able to afford an old beater to begin with are definitely back to riding the bus, which makes it harder/less safe for them to have certain jobs, and the people like Prince William, who pontificate to us about our carbon footprints, will still be able to afford to fly their private jets across country to attend polo matches even if the price of gas quadruples. I heard that their horses don't fart though, so his trips aren't a total carbon footprint nightmare.1 point

These passages don't condone, or encourage slavery. Slavery was not a choice for these people, but how they lived their lives was. Allowing yourself to become resentful or bitter is more harmful to you than your oppressor. Spartacus led a rebellion with the best armed, and best trained slaves in all of the Roman Empire, and it didn't end well.1 point

No. Biden shut down some domestic oil and gas production and canceled Keystone XL. He also alienated Russia and the Saudis. He doesn’t understand Reapoitik. Stopping oil imports from Russia will hurt American and Canadian consumers, and Trudeau has been forced to follow suit. Biden mismanaged Ukraine. All he needed to do was provide assurance that NATO would stay out in exchange for Russia respecting Ukrainian sovereignty. Trudeau’s carbon taxes and trucker vaccine mandates have added substantially to the cost of fuel.1 point

Correction: Old political categories aren't relevant in the modern day. You frame your arguments based on the current reality, rather than outdated bygone attitudes that nobody cares about anymore. They're fighting divisive rhetoric with Pierre Poilievre, by supporting the freedom convoy and their "fuck trudeau" signs, and by appealing to idiots who call their critics fascist woke totalitarians?1 point

Ukrainian radical groups have been blocking the exit of the civilian population through the humanitarian corridor in Mariupol for several days in a row. They are especially harsh with those who are moving towards the Russian border, there is a video with executions of cars. How long will the world community remain silent about this lawlessness? This is only a small part of the crimes of the Kiev regime.1 point

Reports were that the cops were photographing license plates at the protest. I know the government SAYS they did not use the stolen GiveSendGo list of donors to target others, but I don't believe it. I know someone who had their bank account frozen who had merely donated, and never attended the protest in Ottawa. I also saw photos posted of Ottawa residents who stuck posters all around their neighbourhood, with the title "Know Your Neighbour!!!!!" listing the names of those in the area who donated to the convoy. And they wonder why they are compared to the German citizens who turned in their Jewish neighbours......1 point

All I'm saying is maybe there doesn't have to be a third world war. Let's check out this possibility it could all be squelched by simply convincing the Russians nobody wants NATO Missiles and weaponry on their Ukrainian border.1 point

It's a real war. This was not a surprise attack. Zelensky had many direct and unmistakeable warnings. Like it or lump it. In case you forgot, Zelensky told his civilian population to fight. When they do, and when they get shot, by snipers or anyone else, it's not Putin's fault. Your moral compass is set to 'obey propaganda': you never had any credibility when this thread started and yet somehow you're still going downhill. You're a little puppet man, driven this way and that by the MSM. You have no ability to think for yourself or to make sense of what's happening around you. You hear the MSM narrative and, regardless of whether or not that conflicts all of the facts that you've been exposed to, you just instantly absorb that narrative and start regurgitating it as if it's the key to your existence. FYI Russian soldiers are in Ukraine because Zelensky felt like Putin wasn't serious about what would happen if Zelensky kept pushing closer to NATO. FYI Russian soldiers are getting shot at by civilians because Zelensky told his citizens to shoot at them. Now Zelensy's citizens are getting killed because they listened to Zelensky. FYI Russian soldiers are allowed to fight back when they're attacked. If the Russians/RCMP/Chinese/FBI surround your house and your family is in there with you, do you start shooting at them, oblivious to the consequences? Are you as stupid as the Ukrainians? Go find me something in the Geneva Conventions that says that civilians can shoot at soldiers without recourse. Do you know what you'll actually find out? Uniformed soldiers actually have more protections from the GCs than unlawful combatants. Shooting at soldiers when you're not wearing a uniform (a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance) is a war crime. Zelensky is asking his civilians to commit war crimes. Russia is abiding by the laws of war. Sometimes you gotta choose to live to fight another day. If that means that you have to accept the rule of a foreign power then so be it. The only time that you fight with your family right there is if they're gonna be attacked. Then it's blaze of glory time. Sorry MH but you're way off base here. Stupidly so. It's like you came from a planet where there was no such thing as war, rolled out of bed, watched twenty seconds of "the news", and started running your mouth.1 point
-
real war = snipers shooting civilians Your moral compass fell overboard, man. You have zero credibility.1 point

Dude, Russia is at war. It's a real war. If Ukrainians want to shoot at soldiers that's fine, but then they make their homes into viable targets. That's war. I wouldn't shoot at Russian troops from my house if my family was in there.1 point

I was speaking more to the justification behind Kennedy drawing his line in the sand around Cuba, and Putin drawing his line in the sand at Ukraine. People in NA almost universally support Kennedy's stand against Russia, because the silos were too close to home, and every one of those people who supported Kennedy is somehow against Russia's stance against Ukraine joining NATO. It's hypocrisy of the highest order. IDGAF about Ukraine. They had their chance to notice all the tanks and troops around them. They could have done what they needed to do in order to keep their citizens safe. Russia can bomb them (conventional bombs, not nukes) for all I care. I wouldn't give Ukraine the steam off my shit. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.1 point
