Your reference to DiAngelo says it all. Imagine saying Black Fragility. It’s pure racism to ascribe an attitude to people based on skin colour. Read Ibrahim Kendi for more such chestnuts. I’m with the Republicans against such racism.2 points

Do you mean the outrages nonsense be committed by the Marxist government in Manitoba on those native Indian people for wanting to buy groceries or on the native Indians themselves for being pissed off? Why do leftist liberals losers like you always have to throw Trump into everything? Are you that frightened of Trump? LOL.2 points

That's not how this works Michael. If it tells you the sort of thing you want to hear, it's 100% true.2 points

Yeah that's definitely fake news - you shouldn't follow sources like that. Note the date is a few years back and yet nothing has been reported by reputable sites. I also had people giving me sources saying Harper's wife was a Lesbian, had an affair with a female RCMP officer... You need to discriminate a little more.2 points

That's pretty rich coming from Trudeau, who just paid a teenage girl 2.5 million to shut up about their relationship.2 points

When traditions are written off as retrograde and colonial by political leadership, and there’s nothing to replace them except post-modern political theory, generally Marxism or nihilism, the new ideology can be deeply unsettling and hurtful to the thousands of communities who come together to celebrate milestones and holidays. When the state takes those away, declaring them non-essential or unsafe, the psychological damage to people is significant, which is why we must always question any suspension of constitutional rights.2 points

I was reading an interesting piece on the victimhood fetish common among the far-right, as exemplified by the freedumb convoy. It contended that it's an offshoot of evangelicalism, which has long used the tactic of brainwashing their followers into believing they are victims of the greater society. I think there's a lot of truth to it.2 points

The imposition of martial law and the unconstitutional vaccine mandates have nothing to do with white supremacy. Stop this. You’re no better than Trudeau for making something mean something it isn’t. How many swastikas were there at the protests? One? Two? Were the people carrying them Nazism supporters or were they saying Trudeau is a Nazi? Did anyone interview them? You don’t know but why not rush to judgement? I do know what the person thinks who carried the sign saying, “Gas the unvaccinated.” What about the USSR flag at the protest that someone filmed? Once you start looking for outlier examples in order to discredit the roughly 10,000 people who proclaimed that they were there to oppose vaccine mandates, you’re doing Trudeau’s dirty work. That’s called collaboration.2 points

Whether they are or aren't, who cares? You think without any flags there won't be racists? At least, the way I see it - those flags help expose them! You'll know who to avoid if ever you see them. RIGHT?2 points

This thread is to discuss the ridiculous mandates over the past two years and the draconian measures implemented across Canada. I'll start: https://tnc.news/2022/03/01/first-nations-mothers-fighting-35000-in-fines-for-going-to-buy-groceries-diapers/ A car full of women fined $5000 each for traveling to get essentials such as diapers and baby formula in defiance of Manitoba's stay at home order.1 point

Seems like they'd be leaving Putin's dictatorship and coming to Trudeau's. While I welcome any Ukrainians who wish to move here, they should be aware they cannot go against Supreme Leader Trudeau without having their bank frozen1 point

Ol' Joe was in rare form last night. He only stumbled a few times and only called Ukraine "Iran" once. Here's my take; 1. Russian oil still flows to the USA. 2. FUND POLICE??? 3. NOW Biden wants to do something about the southern border? 4. The Rona is now magically over? The shameless hypocrisy of that SOTU speech last night is monumental. I thought the Republican rebuttal by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, was on point. She exposed Biden and the Democrats for what they have become...a pack of insane poll-sitters with no real principals. Then there was Michigan Representative Rashida Tlaib's rebuttal for Democrats...a new wrinkle that, IMO, was self-destructive. Tlaib has no credibility left. I wonder how she feels about her leader wanting to "Fund The Police" now? So what do you think? Did you leave it all with the same putrid taste in your mouth that I was left with?1 point

It should really be called White Adult Fragility because its kid's parents who are behaving like horse's asses over this. Maybe kindergarten should be at the end of a person's schooling. I recall the closing scene in a movie called Wild In the Streets where everyone over 30 is rounded up. LOL! I'll leave it at that in case you haven't seen it.1 point

It was never about a virus at all. It was all about creating a virus scamdemic, and then being able to use that scamdemic to try and be able to set up a great reset globalist new world order. Even globalist leader Klaus Schwab stated that this covid pandemic would be a great excuse and an opportunity for us to try and implement the great reset. Indeed, these globalists like Schwab are not only creepy, but they are downright dangerous to all of our rights and freedoms. Believe it or not. ?1 point

There are no leaders and frankly there hasn't been since Thatcher. She was absolutely the best. Now we just have grifters and idiots. Self serving gated community charlatans to boot. Heh, let's just import tens of thousands of fake Syrian refugees. Those in gated communities will not come within 2 miles of them.1 point

Yes well...we weren't talking about guns. But nice try. You want people to just sit back and watch on...with popcorn...while Justin and his merry band of jack-asses flat out break the bounds of the law and politics. While you and the media cheer them on and unquestioningly regurgitate the lies Justin and his cronies have spewed forth about blue collar Canada. While denying science and imposing unsupportable and illegal mandates. You are an accomplice to this and as such...an enemy of the state.1 point

Oh brother...I think you're simply overreacting to an overreaching effort by people trying to purge the world of the last vestiges of assholery in it and where the hard-boiled woke are simply being assholes about it. Get a grip, make some popcorn, have a cold beer and a chuckle over it.1 point

I agree. Regular Canadians aren't used to being attacked by their government for holding an opinion that differs from the government. Better get used to it? I hope not. Tolerating opposing views is democratic. Anything else is something else. Not democracy. Not freedom.1 point

Canadians generally are middle of the road. The truckers are just truckers. Not a lot of time for politics. Which is why their journey to Ottawa simply to be heard was amazing. Some gave all they had just to get there. And there's nothing wrong with being a Christian and a trucker. There were plenty of other faiths at Ottawa's big party...Muslims too. And plenty of Sikhs...Jimmy.1 point

I'm suggesting that censorship is a stupid and ineffective way to fight the "Libbies" on top of violating core principles if you can't come up with a better response than that, your imagination sucks, and you're a giant hypocrite copying the other sides most counterproductive tactics is dumb af it's a clear sign of weakness and lack of discipline and it is abandoning the moral high ground becoming a fascist to fight communism is the Hitler gameplan the commies want you take that bait and play by their rules don't play into their hands and give them the satisfaction why would give them control over what you support by caving into being a reactionary?1 point

I understand what you're saying 100%, and I also see Betsy's point about letting people wave those flags to out themselves, but Jagmeet wasn't really talking about banning those flags anyways. He was just using up oxygen to 'reference' those flags in an attempt to make it seem as if they were really there. It's like if I said that "we should ban terrorists from attending NDP cabinet meetings". Jagmeet himself is merely a 'terrorist sympathizer & supporter', but no one has enough evidence to prove that he's an actual terrorist himself. The comment itself would just be made to lend credibility to something that's actually non-existent, or at least something that's not currently proven. (It's worth noting that Jagmeet is banned from entering India because of his close ties to known terrorists and his support of people who have spoken in favour of using violence to achieve their political goals, which are centred around religious bigotry.)1 point

TBH it wasn't a "State of the Union Address" at all, because it wasn't about what happened during the past year and it wasn't about what's happening in the union right now. It was more about "Thank God Russia attacked Ukraine, because now I don't have to speak about my laundry list of failures" and a bit of his usual plagiarism: this time it was Trump that he was copying. He talked about the importance of increasing the industrial capacity of America again (Does Biden think he has a magic wand? ? ), retaking control of the border (again, with a magic wand?), funding the police lol... etc. It was barf-worthy from beginning to end, most notably, the cheerleaders he had behind him were atrocious. It's inevitable that someone will take the time to make a video comparing all of the things that Pelosi cheered in Biden's speech and all of the things that she frowned about during Trump's speech. IMO that will be the only watchable video of this SOTU address.1 point

I don't like those offensive flags, but I also wouldn't ban them. A flag has never hurt anyone, except their feelings, and people shouldn't have a right to simply not be offended by speech. It's just a piece of cloth.1 point

Russia invades Ukraine. The Ukraine government is distributing guns to it's citizens. This is a perfect example of why the right to bear arms is important. Ukraine/Russia War Reveals Liberal Hypocrisy Kira Rudik[i] is the former CEO of Ring Ukraine. She is now a Ukrainian Member of Parliament. On February 26th, Gerald Butts tweeted the following about this impressive CEO-turned-civilian defence-trainer in Ukraine as the Ukrainian government distributed over 25,000 automatic rifles and 10 million rounds of ammunition to civilians in Kiev alone:[ii] @kiraincongress was COO for home security tech startup that Amazon bought for a billion dollars. She could be on a beach anywhere in the world. Instead she’s learning how to use a weapon in Kiev. Amazing.[iii] Butts says “guns are a menace”[iv] and “A Liberal vote is a vote for stronger gun control laws”[v] yet this week he openly calls arming Ukrainian civilians with automatic weapons “Awesome.” That’s quite a flip-flop from his position here at home, where he’s 100% in favour of confiscating semi-automatic sporting rifles from ordinary Canadians who’ve passed every background check imaginable. Gerald Butts’ hypocrisy is not lost on us, but it most assuredly is on him. Canadians have a long history of proficiency with firearms. It’s no accident that Canadian troops in both World Wars were commended on their shooting ability. They were avid hunters and shooters who learned their skills from their fathers and grandfathers. This firearms proficiency was fully supported by our government-run schools. Up until the 1960s, most schools had shooting ranges in their basements and many kids brought their firearms to school to train. If Gerald Butts and his pal, the Prime Minister, took his Ukrainian position here in Canada and, instead of “hating guns” they hated violent criminals (who routinely and repeatedly violate Firearm Prohibition Orders instead), we could make serious inroads on the drug dealer and gang violence problems faced by our major cities.[vi] As for Ukraine, on February 23rd, its Parliament voted to immediately give civilians permission to carry firearms.[vii] "The adoption of this law is fully in the interests of the state and society," the authors of the draft law said in a note, adding that the law was needed due to "existing threats and dangers for the citizens of Ukraine". Most Ukrainians – boys and girls – learn how to shoot at school. About 400,000 people are estimated to have combat experience, following Vladimir Putin’s 2014 annexation of Crimea and the Moscow-supported armed uprising in the east.[viii]1 point

Well exactly. Healthy functioning democracy where individual rights are respected and people are judged not by the colour of their skin but the content of their character has been vilified by the left as retrograde. What the so-called left offers instead is arbitrary collectivization under the auspices of “equity”. It means you will get what the woke committee decides you deserve, outside of talent, hard work, or strength of character. It’s Bolshevism light. Everyone loses because no one can keep up with the ever changing lexicon and no one sees their unconscious bias. This brave new world has nothing to do with equality. It’s dictatorship by the elite word masters. The Republicans seem to point to belief in the strength of all people and the importance of upholding rights for all, yet they are ridiculed for this. In Canada we don’t really have a mainstream party that affirms the country, its citizens, and their rights. Half of the Conservatives might as well join the Liberal Party of Canada.1 point

Are you enjoying living in a communist like country today? Canada is far from being free anymore. We now have unpatriotic and disloyal lying politicians and a lying corrupt media that could careless about rights and freedoms in Canada. We the peasants must exact our revenge one day soon. Those who betrayed us should face jail time for what they have done to Canada and Canadians. They all lied to us. Shameful indeed. ?1 point

NDP is tanking hard in the polls, see Nanos's most recent. They've betrayed the working class. I completely get why they are in such decline as I have supported them in the past (no longer). This means they'll cling onto power even harder by supporting the Liberals. They're broke and can't afford another election on top of low polling numbers.1 point

Singh doesn’t support the working people of Canada. He doesn’t see the plight of people who have been thrown out of work because of the pandemic and unconstitutional policies. He’s making the protests about race, even though there are protesters of all backgrounds. His own brother donated to the protest. Is his brother a “racist” and a “misogynist”? Do not forget that Singh is voting to support martial law on Monday night. He’s as arrogant, privileged, and out of touch as Trudeau.1 point
