If you were watching  budget vote, you might’ve noticed something odd: two Conservative MPs in the House didn’t vote during the roll call, Andrew Scheer and Scott Reid. On the record, that means they abstained.
Only after the motion passed by four votes did they suddenly pop up claiming “technical issues” with their app and asked to register their “no” votes, narrowing the margin to two.
The problem? The technical-issue exception only applies to MPs voting virtually. These two were sitting right there in the chamber.
This wasn’t an accident. It wasn’t confusion. It was the Conservatives quietly dodging a non-confidence vote because they absolutely do not want an election right now.
They’re playing games and hoping Canadians don’t notice.

Budget passed , barely ...2 absent/refraining form voting Conservatives, and 2 from NDP....NDP leader says they or better yet Canadians are not wanting an election...I guess that would depend on which party you vote for...i think most Conservatives are ready....I mean for voters all it means is listening to all parties promising us the moon, and delivering almost nothing and finally standing in line to place your vote....if were are not ready to do that, at the very least maybe a democracy is to much for Canadians..

Anyways the liberals are celebrating this narrow victory, but it is a sign that Canadians are growing tired of waiting for some results from this government.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

Imagine the Trudeau / Singh coalition still at the helm now.

Don't get me wrong, it's not personal - the problem was Justin thought he was his father and the party thought he could become his father.

Singh is without question the poster boy of what not to project when your in opposition - those two stuck together like shite to a wool blanket.

On the other hand the Conservatives must bear some of the blame for those (2) sad sacks - look at what they were running against??

I wish Trudeau well but he should never have been leader - he's more of a manager, eh? A teacher?

Thing is, Canadians do not like Polievere and I agree.

If the conservatives get a real leader, then they will win.

"while 73 per cent of Canadians view Poilievre as a “strong critic of the government” in his official opposition role, 50 per cent say they would be “ashamed” to call him prime minister."

Old news...and all gone.

Time to move on with today and tomorrow.

The problem is the conservatives have no leaders in their ranks any more. 4 election losses with 4 different leads should be awakening them.

I am a conservative by heart and would love to voie for them again but...not while there are imbiceles in charge.

I am afraid the conservatives are like the republicans and there will not be anyone contending for leadership and we will have PP back , just like the republicans have trump again.

Elizabeth may voted Yes to the budget because Carney once mentioned the Paris Agreement.  Totally overlooking the fact he axed the tree planting in the budget.

She's so stupid.  I like her better when she's hammered.

There was an MSM interview with the Chihuahua (Champagne) coming out from the vote and he was NOT excited.  That interview has been erased from the media now, but some people saved it, I saw it this morning.  He was definitely not happy.

I think it was the Libs hoping to force an election, thinking it would be their chance for a majority before Carney supporters start to realize they've been had.

That's why they refused to work with any of the other parties on the budget and delivered a 💩 sandwich for a budget.

Now they have to work with a 💩 sandwich of a budget.

What I comprehend is yes, May voted for the budget but better yet, 3 Conservatives help Carney get it passed.

Which is the right thing to do.  Nobody wants to go to a December election.  That would be political malpractice.  You’re not very bright are you?  Maybe you will be when you become an adult.

I agree but PP was the one wanting it and threatening non confidence to get it.

Hmmm, things change when his own people would not help him get what he wanted :)

I am very bright...I knew it would pass and guess what? It did.

He's only Interim... thank God. But he did find a way for them to object to the Budget without bringing down the govt and committing Party suicide. Just as May did by choosing minimal environment support over risking total backwards abandonment of all supports.

At least tonight I can sleep and dream about PeePee LePew curled on the floor, srying, kicking, pounding fists and screaming throwing a total tantrum.

Why do you want to dream about PP tonight anyway? I would think that you much would prefer to dream about Carnage the destroyer and barbarian of Canada instead. And who knows that maybe your dreaming about Carnage tonight you could end up having a nice wet dream. Chuckle-chuckle.

Not in gov't.  A win is a majority.  They failed to get that.

So basically it's just like winning a game in the series... you're going to have to do better than just that to get a win :)  He had to go begging to lizzie may to get his budget through

Well that's a lie isn't it. Carney was the one who wanted it. It's his job to make sure that enough of the other parties support him to get his budget passed. That's the way this works.

Initially he refused to even meet with them, so this was him and him alone. Can't blame the conservatives or anybody else for it

Yeah he did.  What glue are you sniffing now?  Only two conservatives didn't vote, one out on surgery so she couldn't' be there and the one who quit so he abstained.  Everyone else voted.

I know math isn't your strong point but read the counts again.
