impartialobserver Posted September 1, 2023 Report Posted September 1, 2023 Yes, or at least they should have a working class background. I may have a Phd in economics but spent from ages 12 to 29 working on a ranch, restaurants, warehouses, manufacturing, and concrete. Quote
I am Groot Posted September 1, 2023 Report Posted September 1, 2023 What? The sullen, dull-eyed plebes chewing their cud and waiting for the government to pour more slops into their buckets? I should think not! Quote
Popular Post herbie Posted September 1, 2023 Popular Post Report Posted September 1, 2023 What? That's kommunism and that's just inherently evil, right? They should be thankful we let them vote for the people we choose for them! 5 Quote

But it’s not so simple a question depends what you mean by “rule”. If you mean that there would be a ban on people with post secondary education or net worth over a certain amount from positions of authority then no. If you mean that governments and political parties should stop acting like “business leaders” are infallible geniuses who know all and who have the only opinions that matter, then yes. Quote
OftenWrong Posted September 1, 2023 Report Posted September 1, 2023 Question is not should they but why aren't they. Working class is the majority. But wait- thought this was democracy, so why is the working class being bled dry while being led around by the nose. Just because they would "rule society" doesn't mean it would be communism. Working class people earn their way through life. If the poor non-working class ruled, they would want the government cheese. 1 Quote
OftenWrong Posted September 1, 2023 Report Posted September 1, 2023 The working class is majority yet they don't "rule society". Corporations and big government have the clout. And now they have all the digital control. Enjoy your voting, happy citizen Quote

If the poor non-working class ruled, they would want the government cheese. the reason that working class joe from Hot Springs, AR or Elko, NV does not run for President and win.. money. it takes money to run a campaign. Also, while you are campaigning you are not earning wages so you have foregone wages. Lastly, working class Joe does not have the years of practice being disingenuous and clever with their wording. Being too direct and/or objective does not help you in politics. Quote
Caswell Thomas Posted September 2, 2023 Report Posted September 2, 2023 Though the well.skilled working people vote and support their candidates , that is not the same as being as qualified to hold office as individually chosen political leader s since working people are rather single minded, not globally minded and you must be the latter to understand the responsibilities of Public Office. August1991 Posted September 2, 2023 Report Posted September 2, 2023 In the 1930s, the people who voted for Adolf Hitler and his NSDAP were largely educated people - working people, but educated. Quote

Moonlight Graham Posted September 3, 2023 Report Posted September 3, 2023 The working class get to choose which rich elite paid off by corporations and mega-rich people get to rule them. We're ruled by unethical white collars and their white collar donors because blue collars and ethical white collars don't have enough money to campaign and advertise and run a party. 3 hours ago, herbie said: Convince yourself to vote for the people they chose for you instead... don't rock the boat, you'll be the one that gets seasick Don't ever rock the boat. CdnFox Posted September 3, 2023 Report Posted September 3, 2023 The working class do run the country. They can participate in the political parties (or create new ones) to a VERY high degree. They vote for the leaders, the policy, and at the elections. They control the moneybags federally - the donations caps and refunds mean the working class is who provides the political parties with their cash. The problem is 90 percent of the working class want nothing to do with running the country. Quote
