The "RIDICULOUS CONSPIRACY THEORY!!! ?" was that covid might have come from China's only military bio'research' lab, which was right beside the famous "1-in-2000 wetmarket". Hmmmmm. 10,000 sq km of China, 2,000 wetmarkets and only one bioresearch lab, and the wetmarket where the hasty bat-pangolin-human mutation occurred was right beside the laaaab..... Nevermind. It's too dumb to even consider haha.

An even deeper dive into that rabbit hole was the "RIDICULOUS CONSPIRACY THEORY V2.0!!! ?"  that gain-of-function research was responsible for the virus gaining the ability to infect humans.

How consequential was it to treat covid like it wasn't an airborne virus MH? 

The new stance that Fauci and his minions have taken is that "the virus was intentionally mutated by scientists to become infectious to humans, but that doesn't constitute gain-of-function". Ohhhh, I see, so it gained the ability to infect humans, but that's not really a gain-of-function. I guess that gaining the function of being able to infect and kill humans wasn't significant enough to meet the standard of gain-of-function, we're supposed to say with a straight face. The changes would have to be more consequential in order to meet the lofty standard of gain-of-funtion.... The virus would need to be able to tapdance, or solve a Rubik's Cube.

 

Do you think that anything I said there was even slightly inaccurate MH? If so, which part? On a scale of 1-100, how accurate was the overall thrust of that argument? 

Do you think that considering these conspiracy theories might be important sometimes, or are you just gonna keep believing the people who told you the aforementioned lies about covid, plus all of the lies about vaccine efficacy and safety? If you struck through all of the things that CTV, CNN, Trudeau, Biden and Fauci said about covid that "turned out to be lies", how many of their covid bloviations would hold water? Whatever, at one point he said "stroll to the capitol" as well, and that was the comment that we were talking about.

In any event, I didn't "try to claim" anything, I simply educated you on how different the quote was from his actual words, and explained to you that the difference was significant enough to constitute an actual lie on the part of its author. 

FYI idioms are a huge part of the English language, and they have very specific meanings. "March on ______" is one such idiom with a very precise and well-understood meaning, and it is in no way similar to "marching over to ______".

It's like saying "I went to Trisha's bathroom and took a shit" vs "took some shit". To the uninitiated both are the same, but people who are familiar with the language know that the meanings are entirely different.

A really great read is Mollie Hemingway's "Rigged".  Just finished the audio version and it's an eye opener. The title is perfectly accurate too. She debunks many of the lies perpetrated by the MSM, many of which continue to show up here on a regular basis. One prime example was the claim that Trump asked the Georgia Secretary of State to "find 11,000 votes". The quote was deceptively edited and the Washington Post did print a retraction much much later, and it was buried.
