the government will drop the charges in the end

the government is the ones committing crimes

they can't actually allow these cases to get to court

lest government officials themselves would be going to jail

I think so too. I'm sure their lawyers will have a good time.

I'm sure the first thing they'll look into is why two police chiefs resigned in 3 weeks.

There is only one way to actually depoliticiaze it.

Cut it off.

Cut it off.

1. I doubt you listen anyway.

It doesn't matter - even Harper wouldn't shut it down.  At some point it will change though, I'm pretty sure.  In Ontario LCBO realized they were about to get shut down and they improved a lot.

We have too much right-wing media as it is.  We barely have any centrist media left for that matter, and the centrist media we have is called 'Communist' by the alt-right maniacs.

You are entitled to your opinion, but it is wrong :D

I've never heard of these cbc news changes, and I don't see any difference on my screen.

The more I learn about Harper the more I dislike him.

I am fully trained for Aid to the Civil Power under the Emergencies Act

this is an unlawful invocation of the act, not an emergency

this is a criminal conspiracy to target peaceful protestors with war meaures

which is the kind of war crimes they commit in Burma, Iran & Cuba

they got no case

if they bring it to court, they are the ones in legal jeopardy not you

you have a fundamental right to protest, the government are the ones committing crimes

that is why they are desperate to scare you off

because if you call their bluffs ?

they are finished and probably going to jail themselves

I mean cut off the special funding. Politics has infected all walks of life.

I said politics, not your left-wing-right-wing fake dichotomy.

Mandates by the government for people in their own country.  Like the trucker vax mandates and the mandates for all public servant even if they've 100%worked from home the last 2 years.

Are there any mandates that you are ok with?

1. Ok - well the news is: people who call for the CBC to be reformed are often not watching or not aware of changes that have been made.
2. Imagine if you had paid attention while he was PM.

Doesn’t the fringe elements of society always complain about how the mainstreams of society just don’t understand them?  Or complain that all the mainstream media always have mainstream viewpoints?

To me, it makes perfect sense that the media would reflect society in general.
To the fringe, this is a travesty.

the police are not our enemies, they are our brothers too

they are getting conned

so what I say to them is

remember your oaths & affirmations

you are not bound by oath to obey an unlawful invocation of the act

you know it is bullshit, there is no emergency

you can simply say, "respectfully, sir, but I must decline that order,  as it is unlawful"

They love the immature and low-blow politics of The Rebel et. al.   They are just DYING for politics to reach the pits that it occupies in the USA, where the discussion is chiefly about symbology and unimportant things.

Aren’t the rights of the press enshrined in the Charter?

Yes they are , But they are also guided by a code of ethics like this one. There could be a case made that some of these media outlets are in breach of those as well. I find it a little ironic that the police did not allow the press in to report on the break up of the convoy...

2. What up with the insults, dawg?
