This article characterizes our plight quite well:

A general human plight: we never know where to stop. Just not in the genes. And so no government will stop by itself, it needs to be checked, constrained and stopped wherever and whenever needed. Dictatorship is the only possible destination for a government with no controls.

Nice to see Cpl Bulford involved. He was treated horribly by PM blackface.

The convoy seems to be trying to keep people busy, too?

Today there is a street hockey game between the truckers downtown and the truckers stuck on the John A bridge.

Groups have been assigned to pick up trash, some have painted over graffiti, some are given security detail.

Right now there is a call for volunteers and donations of shovels "Operation Snowman" to clear the snow in downtown Ottawa, since city workers may not likely be able to.

This should come as no surprise to anyone - this is usual behaviour whenever there is a far-right, racist, white supremacist invasion of a country's Capital city.

Frontline workers are burnt out from managing Covid protocols, not from fear of getting Covid.  Our ICU’s aren’t full.  Stop exaggerating.  Staff shortages are almost always due to absurd and over the top Covid protocols.  Life will never be risk free.  We can’t live like neurotic obsessive-compulsives, shutting down normal human behaviour for what is now a flu-like disease for the vast majority of people.  We’ve compromised our freedoms in ways we haven’t absorbed. I’m not sure they’ll return.  Opponents of totalitarianism are branded extremists by our federal government.  That is our reality.

Poor boy.  It's a tough life when you have to do a little to help save other's lives and health.

We should all be outraged by this, but I'm sure the psychologically weak, radicalized Vax Only crowd will just want more of it.

33 million cellphones were tracked without permission during lockdowns and it only came to light in December when the Public health Agency notified contractors to EXPAND the program.

I wonder if this is where all the security breaches came from?

A 17 year old boy - Sean Hartman - died for you to feel safer. Children will die in the next 5-6 years of myocarditis complications - for you to feel safer.

I call that more than just "giving a little", you ingrate.

Three days it took for my wife to get back to something like normal. Good thing she wasn't driving.

Is it illogical to know that a government with no controls will never stop, anywhere? Why would it, if it can get it all? "For the common good!" "For as long as necessary!"

It may not matter that the constitution is being violated, since there must be times when a constitution needs to be overridden, as during national emergencies or under a war measures act. But these are supposed to be temporary measures.

The Covid emergency, while it allows the government to impose emergency measures doesn't seem to have an exit plan. There is no mechanism for removing the emergency measures, and it doesn't seem like our government is willing to relinquish control. Instead they are presenting an expanding and ever-changing system of vaccine mandates and boosters, and rule changes to the point we cannot understand the rules any more. It's classic government bungling and overreach.

That's why there has to be some pushback from people to persuade the government to kindly back off. The more people who get on board the better. There must be a lot of support, given the amount of funding they've received.

Wars and other emergencies don't have exit plans, if they did we would never have them in the first place. They last as long as they last.

Is it even a possibility, in that reality? "Canadians want... Canadians think.... Canadians do. I am Canadians... Canadians are me".

Yes the only "hate" is more the PM, who needs to pull up his big boy panties.

I loved the exchange between Bergen and the Public Safety minister.  Black face just doesn't do well being disliked.

I think Trudeau is going to have a psychotic break soon.

He keeps repeating "90% of Canadians are vaccinated" as an answer to every question.

It makes me wonder if we are all part of a bet between countries - first leader who gets their country to 100% gets a toaster or or a seat on the UN.

Let's just say clown face is "special".  Not quite as corrupt as Xiden, but much less likeable.

It’s dawning on the population the lengths our leadership will go to pressure the unvaccinated and trample their civil rights.  I think the majority are realizing that such mistreatment of people who are asking for medical discretion violates our Charter rights and can take many other forms of oppression if ignored.  Either our rights are protected or they aren’t.  The burden of proof for suspending citizens’ rights is high.  Vaccine passports don’t meet the criteria because it’s unreasonable to suspend people’s access to basic freedoms like using a train when people have ample measures to protect themselves from Covid, including vaccines, masks, and antiviral treatments.  Basically the civil liberties of an entire population are being suspended without reasonable justification.

Hell the charter is suppose to protect free speech.  Which does not exist in Canada.  Polite speech yes but nothing even marginally "offensive".

The unlawful blocking of the highway at the major border crossing between Alberta and Montana looks like it will be coming to an end today.  The RCMP is moving in now in large numbers.  There is a difference between peaceful protests and illegally blockading highways or cities.  We will see if it ends peacefully today or whether it requires tactical units to use force.

I was thinking about your CTV link where they say there is an increase in deaths in younger people.

This may be true.

There are insurance companies raising the alarm that they have seen a 40% increase in sudden deaths under age 40 after the jabs were introduced.

It looks like CTV doesn't do much in-depth reporting and haven't investigated why or when these excess deaths occurred.
