Speaking of our join-dates, it's my anniversary this month! 7 years! I came on December 2006.

The seven-year itch happens several times a year so I'm not really worried about the possibility of a real breakup. In fact, I leave all the time.

However, I don't get the whole idea behind deleting a membership. Is it an addiction like AA, you can never have one post without relapsing?

Why not leave your membership open so you can post periodically and just take a breather whenever you want? Given the two members who did request it, anything is possible.

AW especially, she wore the guess-game like a badge of honour. Funny, until her last post she never really stated what she believed while chastising others for not being telepathic.

Oh I'm so gonna miss her.... K, I'm over it.

:) A long and difficult struggle, BC_chick, but you persevered!

What thread were American Woman's closing remarks in anyway, if I may ask? Or what thread was it that caused the break? And who was the other person who wanted their account deleted?

I can't answer the AW question, but the other person who wanted to be deleted was Peeves.

Awww, CC, that's so sweet. I actually don't have anything against the board really, I'm just rarely on my desktop anymore and I hate the keypad on my IPad. That's why most of my posts are one sentence blurbs. Though your post is awfully tempting to go get a keyboard for the IPad.

Sounds like Tim G might like that too. :)

I wish BC_chick posted more, honestly. It gets tiresome having the same arguments with the same closed-minded people all the time.

I joined in summer 2004! Some of you have known me since I was just a kimlet.

However, I don't get the whole idea behind deleting a membership. Is it an addiction like AA, you can never have one post without relapsing?

Why not leave your membership open so you can post periodically and just take a breather whenever you want? Given the two members who did request it, anything is possible.

Once upon a time at the end of my brief stay at Rabble/Babble, I posted a message berating the moderators for blatant favoritism and blasting a small group of members who'd harassed me from the moment I joined. Afterward, somebody remarked "nobody ever storms off in low dudgeon, do they."

AW had only two dudgeon settings... high dudgeon and extreme dudgeon.

Simply leaving and not posting anymore would simply have not have created a sufficiently dramatic spectacle for an occasion of such magnitude.

AW especially, she wore the guess-game like a badge of honour. Funny, until her last post she never really stated what she believed while chastising others for not being telepathic.

Again. Read what I meant to say, not what you think I meant to say. Again. It's not my problem if you insist on interpreting what I said instead of what I said I meant to say when I said what I said I meant to say. Capice?

Oh I'm so gonna miss her.... K, I'm over it.

I'm also way over it. Once upon a time I viewed our regular tussles as spirited debate with mutual respect. The mutual respect long ago disappeared.

Frighteningly accurate. You do write fiction after all. Your character impersonation is spot on. Edited by cybercoma

These kind of "intelligent" discussions make up the bulk of MLF, face it!

And you wonder why members are dropping off like flies.

I agree. I have no idea why these people continue to talk about somebody who's no longer around to defend themselves. Yet for some reason they feel the need to go on and on and on. It's pathetic. Move on people
