I just watched the NBC evening news and not one word about the Benghazi story. A nice story, however, on how they think that Sandy will boost Obama's numbers. They had no numbers to back this up, though I'm sure they dug and searched for some data, but none exists. Just a few more days now.

It seems to me the media isn't reporting much on this, maybe now the election is over they will, but so far they seem to be trying to sweep it under the rug.

It's a very huge deal, some have called it 'Fast and furious 2' . Seems to be some connection between the rebels in Libya and the rebels in Syria.

http://www.wflx.com/story/19907138/foreign-fighters-worry-and-boost-syrian-rebels

ALEPPO, Syria (AP) - The presence of foreign Islamic militants battling Syria's regime is raising concerns over the possible injection of al-Qaida's influence into the country's civil war.

Syria's rebels share some of those misgivings. But they also see in the foreign extremists a welcome boost: experienced, disciplined fighters whose battlefield valor against the better-armed troops of President Bashar Assad is legendary.

Nothing typifies the dilemma more than Jabhat al-Nusra, a shadowy group with an al-Qaida-style ideology whose fighters come from Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the Balkans and elsewhere. Many are veterans of previous wars who came to Syria for what they consider a new "jihad" against Assad.

Just more evidence of Al-Queda causing trouble.

The group has become notorious for numerous suicide bombings during the 19-month-old conflict targeting regime and military facilities. Syria's rebels have tried to disassociate themselves from the bombings for fear their uprising will be tainted with the al-Qaida brand.

Al-queda seems quite mobile these days and can be instantly anywhere. How do they do it?

Well it is rather a scandal. Either Obama knew something and did nothing...or he didn't know anything and was irresponsible. Both look bad. But, the media is largely in favor of giving O-- a pass on this one.

And what kind of media do we then have?

Well that is a very good question. Maybe more of a concern than the scandal itself, is that it is not being reported like it should.

The administration is now stone walling senate democrats who are requesting more info on Benghazi.

For good reason (well according to them anyways) ..... this was a cover up right from the start and many players are involved, perhaps even before it all went down. Romney had a great chance to really grill Obama in the debates regarding the attacks in Benghazi, but did not press hard enough. Exposing that could have gotten Romney some serious numbers in the polls. Also ever since Hillary Clinton was made to take the fall, has not been as much in the spotlight for any reason.

News agencies failed to report the severity of this attack and situation.

Obama is failing to come clean with the events.

Romney failed to press Obama on it as well (could have seen Obama sweating buckets).

There is something in place to make sure this story does not get as much traction as it should have. It's a serious issue. But mostly forgotten now because of Sandy and the election in general.

Something is very odd. I have agreed with American Woman in another thread, and now I agreeing with you Shady on this item.

For the sake of the nation, I hope this event doesn't turn into some kind of Watergate down the road. The US needs to heal from this election and get through the fiscal cliff, which no matter how they slice it will sink them back into recession.

Well, with QE-Infinity, we won't have to worry about that. The fed is going to print money and inject that into the economy until the system collapses completely. Something like a few billion each month into the economy each month until further notice. That alone is going to seriously devalue the greenback. One major reason you see other countries starting to ditch the greenback for a more stable currency. Now think of the global oil market and the crisis that will bring about because of the US petro-dollar. What happens to the price of oil if the greenback is severely devalued?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/11/11/feinstein-hill-inquiry-into-libya-attack-will-include-questions-on-petraeus-fbi/

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, said Sunday the Capitol Hill investigations into the Libya terrorist attack also will address the scandal surrounding CIA Director David Petraeus, including why the FBI failed to notify the committee about the extramarital affair that led to the director’s resignation.

The California Democrat told “Fox News Sunday” she found out about Petraeus’ resignation Friday as the rest of world learned the news and described being shocked and “heartbroken.”

“We will investigate why the committee didn’t know,” Feinstein said. “We should have been told.

But it's all going under the rug.

The FBI whistle blower may have been trying to expose the rug sweeping, but Cantor, instead of going to the media on Oct 31, gave the FBI director the whistleblower's information. I suppose that was the honorable thing to do.

Oh we do have a darn good idea of what happened. Many facts have already been made known.

Here are my questions -

What is the role of this CIA covert base in Benghazi?

What was it's connection to the 'consulate' ?

Was there even a consulate to begin with?

What was Stevens role in making contact with the rebels?

What was Stevens role in keeping communication lines open between the rebels and the White House/Pentagon?

Why was Hillary made to take responsibility for the whole ordeal?

Were the attackers rebels? If so, why would the same people Stevens tried to help end up killing him?

Sure we still are waiting for some facts, but the fact remains that this was a coordinated planned attack, and there simply was not enough security at the consulate in order to hold off the perps who attacked the consulate and kill several people.

So does it sound like this was some kind of CIA safehouse?

Not 'sounds like it'. It is a CIA safehouse/Annex (well that is what I make of it, and looks to be more of the truth). Either way this brings the CIA into the investigation, and makes Patreaus' departure more tha suspicious.

And it's been reported in the media that this whistleblower is now in trouble. Apparently he had previously sent the third woman, Jill Kelly, a shirtless photo of himself. So the whistleblower gets outed and I'm not surprised. This story just gets weirder and weirder.

I just read an article about this and shook my head. It's all ridiculous.

Last thing I read is that the mistress has been saying the CIA was using the place as secret prison for some militia members, and they attacked to try to bust them out.

There's a demand for a Watergate-style inquiry over Benghazi.

Come to think of it....what are the chances that this Petraeus affair could be used as a distraction from Benghazi? It seemed to have become more prominent now.....

It's nothing new for sitting administrations to cause distractions (ie Clinton bombing Libya during the Lewinski scandal)....interesting to see if there'll be one soon.

How could it be a distraction from Benghazi if they're saying the affair was the cause of Benghazi (i.e., the exposure of the prison)?

Again Cantor being the one to tell the FBI director that people outside the agency knew about the investigation is the one who made the FBI expose the investigation in the first place. Again this would have gone no where if it wasn't for REPUBLICAN Eric Cantor so I don't want to here this crazy conspiracy BS about this being someway to cover up Benghazi unless it is Republicans doing the covering up.
