An old Jewish woman was just stabbed in a grocery store in Ottawa by some man. The letter is a condemnation of those antisemitic acts and nothing more. Those are racist acts. It never said criticism of Israel is antisemitism. This is a disgusting statement. Being angry at Israel or their Zionist supporters in Canada is far different than violent racist acts against random Jews or their places of worship. You're simply wrong that racism and hatred against Jews hasn't skyrocketed since Oct 7. People weren't spraying bullets at Jewish schools before Oct 7. Israel could genocide every Gazan tomorrow and that's still not justification for attacking schools and synagogues.

The letter says nothing about wearing a keffiyeh. You're simply making up lies and every other excuse for why the Liberals didn't sign it. This letter was made in reaction to a recent attack in Ottawa where an old man stabbed an old Jewish woman he didn't know and is being investigated as a hate-crime because he made antisemitic comments online.

The letter isn't about criticism of Israel, the letter is about condemning attacks on Jews and their schools, businesses etc in retribution for things going in Israel. You don't attack random Jews for their race or religion or even their political views. The attacks are abhorrent and hateful and highly illegal and unacceptable in a liberal democracy. It is Nazi Germany-era behaviour. Every Canadian should agree with this letter, and those who don't need to be condemned in the harshest terms as the supporters of mob violence, terrorism, and antisemitism that they are. The letter is below. There's nothing controversial in the letter. The majority of Liberal MP's who didn't sign this letter are vile cowards worried more about votes and backlash from antisemites than protecting Jewish minorities in this country from hatred and violence. I don't think people should be forced to take the medicine government wants them to. I don't think parents should be able to force other parents to vaccine their children to make their children safer. People have legal sovereignty over their own bodies and that of their children. Nobody should disagree with the sentiment behind "Canada First". But you don't copy the slogan of an authoritarian gangster who has threatened to annex the country. You'll be welcomed here if you make some efforts to integrate into the team. If I moved to India or China etc i'd bend to whatever they wanted or leave, it's their turf. But in Canada ISIS fighters are welcomed back, Omar Khadr is flying on planes, and foreign agents are allowed to influence our politics. But "a Canadian is a Canadian". There should be huge leeway for someone causing violence against someone who breaks into your home. Outside of torture or some other odd extreme cruelty i think any violence is fair game. If you're shot leaving the property who cares. Police would have done the same thing trying to stop them in an arrest if the suspect ran. Maybe PPs law is even correct here who knows, I just think he's an opportunist doing theater here.

Sorry please explain what Trudeau did with health care, with a link if possible? Putting certain conditions on funding for a program before its agreed to is different than bullying them by threatening to take away some random separate funding that already exists if they don't do something else you want done. Politicians aren't touching the housing demand issues like unfettered speculation. PP and the rest of them all have their own investment properties they don't want touched.

Interesting. I think Singh was a nice guy but just too young and inexperienced to lead a federal party. He was completely new to federal politics, which was obvious. If he served in the Parliament for a decade guy and reached his 50's in age he'd have a better shot. But they crowned the guy because he was young, fresh, and exciting. He also had significant financial support during the leadership race from the Canadian Sikh community if you look at the public donor records. The NDP, like the Liberals, need to abandon identity politics and focus on real issues for the working class that go beyond free government giveaways that are charged to the debt bill. People can't find a doctor and can't afford a house and all you hear about is freebie programs and pandering woke stuff. Economic fundamentals are ignored because its much easier to create a program and give people stuff they don't have to pay for because the money is borrowed. As far as i'm concerned the NDP and Liberals are economically illiterate (minus possibly Carney). The CPC are illiterate in their own ways LOL. Canadian politics is infested with politicians who are far too ideological and not pragmatic enough.

These things are a bad trend. The last thing politics needs are parties separated by race and advocating for racial interests rather than ideological ones. The way to avoid that is to avoid policies that give certain races, sexes etc privileges over others.
