  1. 1. It's called feminism. I grew up thinking the Christian religious folks saying birth control and divorce were bad were a bunch of nutters. I spent decades fighting against their nonsense for women's rights and the like. Well 60 years later we can look at the state of society and it looks like they had some really good points. That's not to say all feminism is bad, or birth control and divorce is always wrong. But we've just took it to an extreme because of "our rights". We threw our responsibilities in the trash because we're selfish and lazy. 2. People in our society who don't have kids argue it's because the economy is so tough and they can't afford it. This is total nonsense because the poorest countries in the world have the highest birth rates and the richest countries in the world have the lowest and its been this way for decades. It's a choice. Taking the pill is a choice. They don't want children. Women want fulfilling careers etc. That's understandable but no society can survive with longterm birth rates below replacement levels. We're now important people from countries that do have high birth rates in order to sustain our economies. If every country in the world made the choices western countries do the human population would go extinct unless birth rate trends reversed. But why would they? The trends have been the same for 50 years with no sign of reversing. This part of feminism is a cancer on our society. It feels good to support women to feel empowered with careers and shove our kids in daycare to be raised by strangers but if its at the expense of the death of our civilization then its a suicidal death cult.
  2. @Michael Hardner said: I want to open-mouth kiss you while fingering your stink hole. But sincerely, thanks for the compliments. I don't think you fully realize what's happening to our society. The threat that leftism is socially and culturally, and what is taking hold, slowly, over many decades. This goes far beyond "wokeness" or what race the actress in The Little Mermaid remake is. It is an ideology that's a suicidal death cult. It is the Jimmy Carter's and Neville Chamberlain's of the world taking the reigns and leading us into battle. The progressives criticize the patriarchy, and sometimes with good reason, but nobody messed with Winston Churchill or Dwight Eisenhower. The progressives brainwashed me into their belief system growing up. It took me decades but I've broken out of it. Free your mind Michael. I'm trying to make you see the light. In a world filled with wolves, nice guys finish last. You're far too indoctrinated and compliant to ever get it though. Oh well. You need a strong assertive "masculine" type to defend a country. It doesn't have to be a man (see Margaret Thatcher). Trudeau behaves like a woman (feminine). Putin would eat him alive. Let's stop worrying about everyone's feelings and call a spade a spade. Truth > feelings. At some point we have to stand up for ourselves and take pride in who we are. The left is much too crippled with guilt to do that.
  3. @Michael Hardner said: 1. What do you mean by Harper had done the same thing? Can you provide a cite? Harper put the visa requirement in place in 2009 because of all the bogus asylum claims from Mexican travelers here. The Mexico government were PO'd. Boo-hoo, go cry in the corner Mexico. If you don't want a visa requirement then make your citizens stop trying to take advantage of our border and migration system. They also overstay their visits and just "disappear". I've met some myself. I didn't report them to the authorities because they seemed like nice people. Maybe I should have, I dunno. They're criminals committing fraud and breaking the law after all. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/stephen-harper-won-t-drop-visa-rule-for-mexicans-source-says-1.2538820 2. Progressives are softies. You're a softy. The Liberal government are softies. People who are too "nice" and afraid they might "hurt someone's feelings" or "offend someone". The Liberals (and NDP) aren't tough enough to defend the security of this country from threats. It's harming the country. Ask Jimmy Carter. Jimmy Carter is a kind man who should be serving food at homeless shelters instead of making decisions on military and foreign policy. I consider you like a Jimmy Carter. "Every virtue, when taken to an extreme, becomes a vice". Remember this always. It takes courage to risk offending people in order to do the right thing. 3. No I look at a gazillion terrible policies Trudeau has made, look at all his unethical actions as Prime Minister, and conclude the man is a bad PM and an unethical public servant who's mainly only in it for himself, his power, the public attention etc. He's the progressive version of Donald Trump (minus the Jan 6). Harper gov did have a visa requirement. They're the ones who put it in place in 2009. The Liberals took it off as soon as they became elected. Why? I don't know, but they weren't doing it to protect our national interests. Then they just reversed it for the very same reason the Harper gov originally put it in place. 😂 So yeah they're du mb incompetent foolz. 4. Ok. Well you said "We do have to accept NAFTA provisions". What does having visa requirements or not for general travelers here have to do with NATFA? Are you saying the Harper gov's visa requirements were against NAFTA? And even if they were, then great, renegotiate NAFTA or pull out of it. A trade agreement should allow travelers to easily travel here and defraud our country with bogus claims and then disappear and stay as illegal migrants or be used as an easier shortcut to get into the US to do the same. It also means the Trudeau gov is now in violation of NAFTA since they put the visa requirement back on. I don't understand your point, but you seem to be defending the Liberals. Why? Removing the visa was bad policy. They're reversing many of their immigration policies closer to what they were under Harper. Why? Because its harmed the country and voters are fed up. 5. See the 1st paragraph of #3 above. He's mishandled immigration badly on several fronts. He's a bad PM. He stinks at his job. His party stinks. He's harmed this country in so many ways and letting our enemies interfere in our democracy because it gets his party votes and who knows what else. He lets people walk all over this country because's a wimpy milquetoast "globalist" or whatever you want to call him trying to virtue signal rather doing what's in our best interest. Nuts to him and his party. If you think the Liberals policy on visas wasn't terrible policy tell me why. They just admitted such by putting it back in. 6. Ok then you understand why they should be in place for Mexican travelers and why taking the visa requirement away was bad policy and harmful to Canada. 7. Ok fair point. But he's the worst PM in my lifetime IMO. 8. Harper put the policy in place in the first place. He inherited the no visa policy from Martin/Chretien Liberals I assume. 9. I reject this premise. 10. I never said "wokeness is our #1 problem". Wokeness can be solved by no longer being woke. Wokeness is a problem. The GG was chosen because she's an indigenous woman. She can't even speak French! The previous GG was chosen because she's a woman but she was a nut. The speaker of the House of Commons was chosen because he's black. He seems like a nice guy but he's not very good at his job. Our Foreign Affairs Minister Joly is in cabinet because she's a woman. She seems like a nice person but she's just not very knowledgeable about much it seems It's embarrassing. When you choose people for jobs based on "woke" group identity and not by merit alone this is what happens. I assume this sort of thing won't happen under PP and it didn't under Harper. If you don't see the problem here and are trying to get people to stop pointing it out then you're part of the problem. JT doesn't understand there's far more important things than "appearances". He's all about appearances, and doesn't seem to care much about substance. It's all a performance. He comes from an acting background after all. And teaching. Up in front of everyone putting on a show. The government isn't a stage-show, things need to get done. It reminds of this video from years ago:
  4. 1. Paranoid about what? Are you saying the family unit hasn't eroded since the 1960's? Are you saying reproduction rates haven't plummeted far below replacement levels for decades and keep going down? Believing in an ideology is "free choice". Most of my friends haven't had kids and don't want them. This has very little to do with economics. The reproduction rate in Canada throughout the Great Depression was almost twice the rate of what its been the last 20 years. We've been below replacement levels since 1972. This is a choice. https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/91f0015m/91f0015m2024001-eng.htm 2. I'll read it on the other forum but I won't respond there. I have permanently left that forum by my own choice and won't log in again due to multiple issues I won't get in to.
  5. It's not because black people are "dumb". I have an African-American friend who lives in Georgia. He's so poor he lives in a motel room with his children. He's a sweet wonderful southern gentleman and one of the most amazing dad's i've ever met. His verbally abusive wife left him about 6 months ago and then he lost his job a couple of months ago and now he doesn't have enough money to pay his child support from a previous marriage so they just cancelled his driver's license. He can get another photo ID but if he needed it to vote he'd only have 2 weeks to get it before the election. How fast does your driver's license renewal come in the mail. Mine doesn't come in 2 weeks! There's other methods they can do for verification besides photo ID, like signature match or whatever.
  6. The 2000 election was actually extremely close in Florida though. Almost 6 million votes were cast and Bush won by only 537 votes LOL. Media had called the state and the election for Gore and then the recount flipped it. 17 counties flipped from Democrat to GOP after the recount, with "hanging chads" and other issues. Bush won by 1 single electoral college vote. How is that any way comparable to Trump rambling about vague "election fraud" with no evidence? He still says the election was stolen to this day when there's no evidence. At least Gore could make some kind of argument that was somewhat understandable and at least he didn't try to fraud his way to a win when he lost. Please tell me why members of the Trump campaign were SECRETLY meeting hundreds of times with Russian government officials? Just having a friendly brunch and talking about the weather and the latest sports scores?
  7. 1. You just said "There isn't really much to discuss when you just want to point fingers at groups, or weird scapegoats like trans people." Stop gaslighting me dude. You do it ALL THE TIME. 2. The problems with social leftism go far, far beyond trans policies and are far more harmful to our society than our current economic problems. They're slowly destroying western civilization itself. The very basis for our societies, the family unit, has been greatly eroded over the past 60 years because of progressive ideology. People aren't having kids, and the ones that are aren't having enough to sustain our populations. No society can sustain itself this way. High immigration isn't a cause in any way whatsoever, immigrants aren't to blame and shouldn't be a scapegoat for this, and when they move here they often adopt our sick culture. This is 100% self-inflicted. We have nobody to blame but ourselves. At this point, most "third world" cultures are superior to ours because at least they're not headed for extinction. 3. That's one example yes. 4. Well JT also just admitted that his policies have been harmful to the economy and his party effed up. More likely he just wants the votes. 5. I'm free to talk about anything I see as problems. You can agree or disagree but you have no right to tell me what I should think are problems or not. Why you keep doing this I have no idea.
  8. If Trump had any evidence whatsoever of actual voter fraud he would have presented to the state courts and won a court case about it. He didn't. He wanted to delay or overturn the election results by any means necessary and had donor dollars to spend so it didn't cost him anything to do it. As of now it's a conspiracy theory unless someone shows proof. They caught the attempted fraud, that's a good thing. You really think Trump suddenly and magically cares about "election integrity" 😂 The only reason the GOP want photo ID is because the people who don't vote for them have a harder time acquiring it or have it less than the people who do vote for them. And the only reason the Dems don't want voter ID is for the exact opposite reason.
  9. That's because he is weak. He and his party are incapable of defending this country. The only thing they seemed to do well was defend us against Trump's trade war stuff. If he were a black Democrat they'd probably fold like a lawn chair and hide under the table.
  10. https://globalnews.ca/news/10629834/documents-canada-u-s-mexico-visa-bilateral-irritant/ If you don't even know about the Mexico visa issue then why are you making an argument defending the Liberals taking the visa requirements off? I have to educate you on the issue basics like the foreign interference discussion on the other board? They reversed the policy and put the visa requirement back on because their decision was stupid and the Biden admin was complaining that Mexican illegals were entering Canada, overstaying their visits, and entering the US from the Canada-US border. Many others just stay in Canada illegally. Why? Because this government sucks at their jobs and so often don't act in the interests of Canadians. Its a pattern (see foreign interference). The Liberals are incapable of defending this country from many foreign threats. They're too worried about offending people like you and many other progressives are. Progressives need to grow some balls. We should be acting in the best interests of the country instead of worrying about people's feelings being offended and pandering to immigrants for votes or doing favours for Canadian corporations who love undocumented immigrants, temporary foreign workers/students etc. The Liberals removed the visa requirements for Mexico. Why? This year they reversed course and but the visa requirements back on because it was bad policy. They're incompetent fools. If you have a quote from your link (or any other link) where it says we can't have visa requirements for travelers from Mexico because of NAFTA please post it. Otherwise i'm rejecting the argument. Whenever i criticize Liberal immigration policy it seems to bother you. Why? This seems more based on your emotions than facts. I'm interested in good policy and what's in the best interests of the country, and unlike "woke progressives" i'm not interested in who is or isn't offended by immigration policy. And why do you think they have visa requirements for travel from most countries outside of the US and Europe? This will provide the answer as to whether Mexico travelers should have visa requirements or not. He's the worst PM in Canada's history. My opinion and as voted by Canadians in polls. I never said he and wokeism is "the cause of all our problems", this is a ridiculous strawman so i'm rejecting that argument. They are a cause of some or many of our problems or at least making some or many of them worse. I also reject your whattaboutisms. "Whattabout the economy?". Wokeness and Trudeau are bad and i'm going to criticize the specifics of them, including immigration policies they've made which are bad, until they're voted out. If you don't like that i can't help you. I'm certainly not going to stop because it bothers you. If you want to talk about another issue then make a thread about it. This thread is about Liberal immigration policy. You're part of the problem because you never want to talk about these issues, you want to ignore them and talk about other things and make other people stop talking about them. It was the same about immigration affecting housing costs which you eventually came around on once the MSM started talking about it. Problems don't get solved by ignoring them, they get solved by confronting and discussing them and potential solutions. If you don't want to talk about them then click on another thread and/or create your own threads or ignore my posts. Please stop telling me what issues I should and shouldn't care about. If you post one of these red herring and whattaboutism replies yet again in response to my posts i'm putting you on ignore for a month. I'm really sick of it. Stick to the issues.
  11. 1. Which groups have a i blamed? I'm blaming ideas. Leftwing ideology. The Liberals are believers so they're part of our social problems (and economic). Since you're a mainstream progressive I don't expect you to agree. I'm not saying 100% of leftwing social policies are bad. Civil rights in the 1960's wasn't bad. 2. This is a strawman. When have I blamed "trans people" for anything? Trans people are like 1% of our population and aren't responsible for our problems. I'm hoping the CPC can help reverse many of these Liberal policies, economic and social, and return many things closer to as they were under Harper (before JT took over). Heck I'll take a Chretien at this point, at least he seemed fiscally responsible and not a leftwing wingnut. The Chretien Liberals are probably a thing of the past and not coming back any time soon. The NDP are even more socially leftist than the Liberals. Given the scope of our problems and how the Liberals and NDP have handled them, anyone besides trans people who votes against the CPC because of potential anti-trans policies and carbon tax policies is a fools. The impact of these policies are so minimal its ridiculous. So go vote green or NDP or whomever. 3. Huh? I've been arguing about housing prices (and have NEVER only blamed immigration #'s) and Liberal deficits since pre-COVID and I keep getting Liberal-supporting fools defending the Liberal policies. We've had this same discussion several times. I'm not having it any more. If you want to start a thread on economic issues you're free to do so. If you want to remain a card-carrying woke progressive you're free to do so.
  12. You sounds like an Albertan, but fish instead of oil.
  13. Gore conceded and honoured the decision of the SCOTUS. Gore didn't have White House lawyers create fake electoral college ballot schemes and try to convince state legislators to go along with the voter fraud, hmm? And call Clinton a traitor for not going along with it? Or tweet nothing until 3 hours after rioters started ransacking Capitol Hill trying to confirm Dubya's nomination? Trump's campaign was in contact with Russian government officials throughout his 2015 election campaign. Sounds a little suspicious don't you think? Should have some investigation don't you think? Anyone who believes these were innocent contacts is an imbecile.
  14. They caught them. So there's no actual voter fraud happening there if it was caught. I agree they should have photo ID to vote, but only the condition that a photo ID card be made available for free for all voters in any state this is applied in. Drivers license or passport isn't enough since those can be revoked for various reasons and typically cost money. Give every American a citizenship card or something.
  15. Anyone who voted NDP or Liberal last federal election is a naive fool who need to reexamine their belief systems. Luckily O'Toole's conservatives won the popular vote last election so that gives me some hope for this country. Scheer wasn't as good a leader as O'Toole but they won the popular vote as well in that election too. A plurality of Canadians are on my side. I was talking about JWR and Jane Philpott, not the current MP's against Trudeau. They're just in it for themselves.
  16. I know exactly why Palestinians resist Israel. Some of their complaints are perfectly understandable and legit. But I don't feel bad for the Palestinians who either voted for Hamas or support Hamas today. They complain about "crippling blockades" while they support rocket materials being imported from Iran etc and fired at Israeli civilians in terrorist attacks and think Israel is just going to let him keep importing whatever materials they want? They can get bent, they aren't victims, they're authors of their own fates in this circumstance. The blockades would stop if Hamas stopped this nonsense. Hamas slaughters 1200 people on Oct 7 and kidnaps hostages and then Palestinians whine when Israel launches strikes to eliminate Hamas, and complains they're blowing up hospitals and mosques when Hamas hides in them. Get bent. They whine that Israel is targeting "UN foreign aid workers" while these workers literally participated in the Oct 7 attacks. Get f*cked. Their enemy is Hamas and yet many of them are in the streets of Canada and elsewhere cheering support for Hamas on Oct 7 and its anniversary. They can all get f*cked. Anyone cheering on Oct 7 should get deported & stripped of their citizenship as a terrorist supporter. Oh but "A Canadian is a Canadian" LOL. Some people's egos are too big to look in the mirror and own their own sh*t. Much easier to play the victim and blame others for your problems. I agree.
  17. Did you ever vote for the CPC under Harper? LOL
  18. The Dems have never pulled that stuff, and neither have the GOP before Trump. Even the state GOP wouldn't go along with it. It's just Trump. He's a danger to democracy. It's a failure of the system he's even able to run in the election. His cheerleaders hate democracy.
  19. The Harper gov was in power for longer I believe and wasn't nearly as bad as the Liberals. No saints but this is really bad. Any Liberal MP who can sit in caucus with this government doesn't have any respect from me. JWR and Jane Philpott are heroes. They chose ethics over their own political power and stood up to this goon and unethical PM and PMO. The Liberal MP's who want Trudeau to step down now are sneaking around and afraid to reveal themselves and only want him out because he's bad for their re-election chances. I have no respect for them. Country > career
  20. Link? I don't understand what you mean. Even if this is true, Canada is in control of their visa system. Mexico can't "force" Canada to not give Mexican travellers visas, and if it was some kind of stipulation that changed in NAFTA we didn't have to accept it. I'd like to see evidence of your claim. This is on the Liberals.
  21. PP is war from perfect but he's probably a lot better than Trudeau. He can't be any worse. We don't need perfect, at this point we just need competent.
  22. Red herring. This is assumes we have no social problems in society. I disagree. "I don't like talking about this and don't see this as a problem so i want to change the subject" isn't much of an argument. It's a red herring logical fallacy which you do often on social issue discussion. Yes we have economic problems too, many which the Liberals have either caused or made worse. Socially and economically they have failed this country. Their ideology needs to be acknowledged for the toxic nonsense that it is, its spread is a cancer on society. The people who have kept voting for this party the last few elections have failed this country. Voting NDP isn't any better and they've only propped up this government.
  23. Educate yourself on the basics of supply and demand.
  24. The Trudeau gov took away the visa requirement for Mexicans. FROM FREAKING MEXICO. Smells like corporate favours to me... Every single person who voted for the Liberals after JT's first term is an imbecile.
  25. I think the prairies will be placated by having a conservative government led by an Albertan as PM. I'm convinced the only way to really placate Quebec longterm is to remove the monarchy. They feel like a conquered people, which they are (Plains of Abraham in Quebec City). The indigenous would also approve. This would be extremely difficult however.
