Again you take the submissive stance, like many progressives do. Your willingness to take big L's is remarkable. White progressives are a weak submissive lot crippled by guilt. We have a global situation where the poorest and least educated countries have the most children and the richest and most educated countries have the least. Ideally it should be the exact opposite. I'm not willing to accept civilization extinction because people in Africa and Asia can't control their reproduction rates to a reasonable level. If they starve because food prices become too high that sucks but it's 100% their own fault. At least China has done something about it. India is a completely dysfunctional country with pathetic sanitation, it's sad but again it's their own fault. Canada is rich, we'll do fine. One could easily argue that we've become far too soft because of our cushy economic conditions post-WWII. We could use a little economic hardship to toughen us up and set our priorities straight again.

Canada needs immigration or the population will collapse. There's no kids anymore. I never said immigration will solve all our problems (far from it), but stopping immigration isn't going to work either. The 4 solutions: 1. have more babies, or 2. import young people from other countries, or 3. accept economic collapse, or 4. change the entire global economic system from capitalism to something else not dependent on perpetual market growth. #4 isn't happening any time soon and #3 is a non-starter. There's no other solutions I can think of.

Since the 60's progressives have undermined the family unit and the institution of marriage (divorce rates etc), and convinced women that careers are more important than having children or looking after them. Now we have a society that isn't reproducing nearly enough to sustain itself, has an epidemic of poverty-trapped single parent households for those that do have kids, which sends their kids to daycare for strangers to raise them, sends mom and dad to the retirement home for strangers to look after them... Seeing the results decades later, were the Christian conservatives who were against all of these things right or wrong? What we have is a society that's become a lot more selfish and filled with people who care more about their hedonistic pleasures, material comforts, and "their rights", and less about things like duty, sacrifice, and family. Our society, our culture is seriously ill. Maybe even terminally ill. We can blame conservatives for a bunch of things but not this. We should have listened to them more...

I'm not a big fan of the oil sands either, but whether Carney approves pipelines or Alberta becomes its own country or an American state makes no difference because the oil will flow either way. You signed a verbal contract. If you don't like the terms then don't sign it. If they no longer work for you then annul it. The Crown and monarchy are fundamental institutions of our country. If i moved to the country of your birth and took an oath of allegiance I wouldn't propose fundamental constitutional changes that would be a direct violation of that oath because i start having second thoughts. Early studies showed potential for ivermectin but there was nothing conclusive. They've followed up and done lots of studies and they show that ivermectin does hardly anything to help with COVID. I don't believe in forcing anyone to take any jab, unless they work with vulnerable populations like the elderly or sick in hospitals, long-term care etc. The vaccines were approved by emergency order knowing the full long-term testing hadn't been done. The health risks of not being vaccinated and being exposed to and spreading the virus far outweighed the health risks of taking the vaccine. The # of lives saved and longterm health helped for people who took the vaccine far, far outweigh the small # of harms the vaccine caused The people more worried about taking the vaccine than getting exposed to the virus while unvaccinated were uneducated fools, it makes no logical sense.

I've seen a ton of footage of them. They have some use at times.
