1. Well you have Biden who is a puppet on strings. A lot of Democrat supporters definitely behave like they're in some kind of cult or religion and you're viewed as a heretic if you criticize The Party. Trump is definitely a cult leader. All the mindless drones who still believe his lies about the stolen election etc. Show yourselves!...criticize this post!!
2. I'm not interested in defending our system. Scale doesn't matter, the effect on policy does. Greenbelt scams, SNC Lavalin, WE Charity, Chinese donations to the Trudeau Foundation etc, free Aga Khan vacations, and countless other examples we'll never hear about. Our governments are run by corrupt sellouts.
3. I'm not arguing scale. The US economy is far larger and has most of the richest corporations in the world.
4. Rewarding terrorism on Oct 7 with massive political gains like a 2 state solution for Palestine after the current fighting is done is a really bad idea that will encourage more terrorism.
5. When was the last time the same 2 candidates from GOP and Dems had a rematch in consecutive POTUS elections? Has it ever happened?
6. Whoa whoa eyeball, anti-elitism? Grassroots? That's populism, a dirty word these days. Our political representatives in Ottawa, and in the provinces and on city councils, simply can't be trusted to act and vote in our best interests.
7. Both parties are corrupt and serve monied interests. In the US it's legal and more out in the open. In Canada it happens more under the table. Yes the Trudeau gov has been bad, but like all governments not 100% bad. But still "worst in my lifetime" bad.
8. Trudeau and the Liberals have implemented a bad vision for this country. The CPC has won the popular vote in the last 2 elections, so many Canadians have rejected the Liberal vision. The CPC definitely isn't perfect but its time for a change in leadership and a plurality of Canadians agree with me both now according to all of the polls and and over the past 2 elections.
9. Encouraging everyone to retreat into separate identity tribes while demonizing the one tribe we all belong to and suppressing our collective pride for it is a really bad idea. This has been the ideology of the woke left, including our current government of the past 8 years. Yes we're all different and always have been, but we need to reject divisive identity politics and vote the current government out of office because they're destroying the country.
10. Most cops, especially in Canada, will start complying with the law when they know they're being recorded. Different situation than the cart lady. You shouldn't have touched her cart, like Walmart employees shouldn't touch your parcels. Anyways I get your fears. Good luck.
11. Next time go tell the Walmart "greeter" aka security guard to bugger off and continue walking towards your vehicle, and if they have an issue tell them they can call the cops. Make sure you have your camera recording the interaction in case they do something illegal, because you can be assured they're recording you for the same reason. And when the cops show up and the cop asks to see your receipt or ID ask the cop if they have reasonable suspicion that you've committed a crime, and when they say "no" tell them "have a nice day" and then calmly enter your vehicle and drive home and enjoy your luxurious Walmart goods. This is how our legal rights work in this country. Our Charter guarantees against unreasonable search and seizure by police and certainly from minimum wage Walmart security who don't know anything about the law. We don't live in a police state and shouldn't let our politeness and induced fear from corporate bullies convince us to ignore our Charter rights. The moment you're finished paying for your goods at the checkout the commercial transaction is finished, it's now your rightful private property, and what's in your bag is nobody's business. Walmart can prevent you from entering their private property with a trespass order, but they can't prevent you from leaving it with the possible that they have reasonable cause to believe that you've committed a crime. Being black or being a customer isn't good enough justification. It sucks that Walmart is victim to a lot of theft, but they chose to install self-checkouts in order to save money on cashiers, and they have every right to watch all their customers on camera while they shop and check out. So instead of harassing innocent customers they should pay for more security staff, which obviously they don't want to do. I invite you to research your legal rights.
12. Stores are free to ask to see your receipts, but you don't have to show anyone anything when you're leaving their property with your own property that you've just purchased. They aren't the police, and even the police couldn't force you to show you any ID or your receipt because in order to detain and ID you they need reasonable suspicious that you've committed a crime, which they wouldn't have if you haven't done anything wrong. If stores want to catch thieves then they should have cameras in their stores and cameras at their self-checkouts and do actual security work instead of treating all of their customers like crime suspects. So at Wal-mart they used to check receipts, for which you could legally refuse. At Costco it's more complicated because you sign an agreement and have a membership based on that. There's lots of videos on Youtube of people refusing receipt checks at Walmart and the employees freaking out, and some harassing the customers by following them to their car and starting confrontations.
13. Jews are indigenous to the area. Their land was stolen from them by Muslim conquerors and were expelled. They built cities like Jerusalem. All of their important religious sites are in Israel that they built and was stolen from them and nobody asked them. Yes I understand why the Arabs in the area were mad.
14. And what have the Palestinians done to achieve peace? You can't complain about being victims when you've tried to murder your "oppressors" for the last 75 years and haven't ever recognized their right to even exist. If something is going to swing your government and its voters towards the hard right it's probably your neighbours trying to kill you and your family over your entire lifetime starting a few years after your race barely survived another genocide attempt during WWII.
15. How do you get rid of Hamas? It's likely impossible. The biggest enemy of Gazans isn't Israel, it's Hamas, and Gazans elected them. So here we are. A region governed by a terrorist group who continually murder your people and want your country destroyed and giving them their own state and the rights therein to have their own military and trade to import weapons is a non-starter for Israel. They'll never allow it as long as Hamas does what they do, nor should they. The good faith needs to be shown by the current government of Gaza (Hamas), not Israel. Even though Hamas was continually launching rocket and suicide attacks at them, in the mid-2000's Israel removed all their people from Gaza and let them have their land back and have democratic elections. Palestinians immediately elected Hamas. The current government of Israel aren't the nicest people but they also aren't suicidal.
16. You don't reward a terrorist attack with political gains, especially statehood. Palestinians should have statehood somebody hopefully but Hamas needs to prove they won't use the rights of statehood to arm to attack Israel. Arabs have been trying to enforce "from the river to the sea" policy since 1948. They attacked in 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973, and Hamas and other jihadists have been launching terrorist attacks continually at Israeli civilians for the last 20+ years. Give Palestinians a pathway to peace and statehood. Tell them if they stop the terrorism they can earn statehood. If terrorists keep attacking and Gazans don't like that it's their responsibility to defeat the terrorists internally if they don't want Israel to do it. Palestinians are the ones who democratically elected Hamas in the first place.
17. No, his diet is mostly meat and some vegetables, which is what a lot of predator mammals eat. As opposed to white flour and the like. You've been explained this before but would rather create strawmen to insult the man. A more balanced diet is more healthy IMO but he also has an autoimmune disorder along with his daughter so he's very sensitive to some foods and can't tolerate them without getting ill. I remember him explaining his diet, I don't remember him saying everyone should do this.
18. Putin and Trump share the same political enemies: the Obama admin (Obama, Hillary, and Biden etc.). I think that's what brought them together first during 2015-16 campaign. Putin was willing to help Trump defeat their mutual enemies. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". Putin is also domineering bully like Trump, they have mutual respect and a lot in common. Bff's.
19. Abolishing money doesn't build more homes. Price is determined by a simple math formula: # of people vs # of homes. Supply and demand = price. If you increase demand every year and the supply of homes can't keep up the prices of homes will continue to go up. If people start buying up homes as investment properties too because they see these housing price increases as a good investment with no financial disincentive to do so it will just increase the demand even more and make the problem even worse.
20. Either that or their corporate masters want it because more consumers mean more consumption. But how is it helping regular Canadians?
There was never a good economic argument for upping the limit and plenty of evidence why it could be bad (especially with housing shortages and inflation spiking), and still with opinions souring more and more, Trudeau just plows ahead. This is an election-losing issue all by itself, and I think it's only going to get worse for the Liberals here. The policy has no future, Canadians obviously don't want it, so why else keep it?
Yup. There's obviously a reason and I don't trust them at all for it to not be a self serving one, especially if its hurting them in the polls.
21. Pretty sure 98% of corporate America and their lobbyists don't want a war with a huge trading partner of the US like China which would bugger the US economy big time.
22. Decadence. You probably mean leftism, not liberalism. Leftism is really but a side effect of decadence. Leftism is just as destructive as conservatism can be, maybe even more so, because its goal is to destroy hierarchies, which means destroying the strong to make everyone more "equal", while also often coddling people and making them weaker at the same time, instead of empowering them. The goal of our society seems to be "comfort", which is a terrible one. Parents are raising ever-increasing generations of spoiled, entitled, coddled, and selfish people. We used to be raised to be responsible, hardworking, and independent. Oops. Side effect of decadence: we're too well-off for our own good. A society of ever-increasing weak people and led by weak people will inevitably decline and become dominated by other civilizations and we're seeing it play out. The West didn't become the most wealthy and powerful civilization in the world by embracing weakness. The only cure might be economic hardship to force people out of their comfort. The decline needs to happen before the civilization itself is extinct.
