People lost their lives for being illogical. In a time of crisis that can be a death sentence. The Darwinism of ideas in action. That includes, yes, believing in unproven conspiracy theories. It also includes being slow to stop travel to certain countries for fear of being perceived as "racist", or politicians walking through Chinatown to in Feb 2020 to show people had nothing to fear from Chinese populations on the west coast. https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/coronavirus-speaker-house-nancy-pelosi-tours-san-franciscos-chinatown/

No I'm not "embracing" anything, I'm stating facts. My point was that many Americans were not willing to trade liberty and basic rights for safety/ security in some instances during COVID. They had their freedom and paid for it in blood. That's not what I supported, but I'm not American. If you want more liberty, for better or worse, move to the US. You might get shot and get stuck with a healthcare bill, you'll be more free. To each their own.

Postal union: "Let's destroy Canadian businesses small and large during Xmas season as negotiation leverage because we work for a company that is having serious revenue issues because of the changing nature of communications and parcel buying/shipping."

He has gone too far down whatever rabbit-hole he's chosen. A victim of either 1. fame, 2. wealth, 3. the bitterness/anger caused by millions of people constantly attacking you and trying to destroy you. Probably a combo of all 3. However, I do very much admire the courage of his convictions. If you shared his beliefs would you speak out about them in your workplace? I wouldn't. Maybe he had the protection of tenure. But his personal and professional relationships would have been affected as well. Like posting an unpopular opinion on Facebook x100. People don't like the cultural hegemony challenged, as the leftists likes to say. 😉 They've gone after him through his professional association membership because that's the only place they can silence him. "They" being random people on the internet lodging the complaints, not his actual clients or students. Like it or not, and for better or worse, America is the last bastion for freedom in the western world. Liberty has costs and they pay for it in blood (including COVID deaths).

I wouldnt blame or give credit to Trump or Trudeau for a good deal of the response to covid. A lot of it, like lockdowns, are out of their jurisdiction. Trump acted faster initially though, because Canada didn't want to ban travelers from certain countries because they were too worried about offending someone's feelings and being labeled racist by the wingnuts among the progressives. Fear of offending people is one of the primary problems with progressive thinking. Don't worry, there's lots of issues within conservative thought too, including with COVID responses. Lock downs in many cases were the right thing to do, but that's more on the provinces/states and municipalities. Americans themselves weren't very smart about it, every single one of my American friends has had COVID. None died, 1 got sick enough to need hospital care, and all could have spread it to the more vulnerable. People questioning things whenever the government limits our fundamental rights is a good thing though, better than always shutting up and just following orders. -
If only the ignorant loud mouth politicians are willing to do the things the people want their politicians to do, because of political correctness or the traditional lobbying system etc, then the people will elect the loud mouths. The more establishment Republicans and the Democrats need to reevaluate their policies and make them closer to what Americans want. They'll keep losing otherwise.

No. There's a difference between someone who voted for Trump and an avid Trump supporter. What i'm saying is that i'm correct on all issues because of my giant brain and therefore anyone to the left or right of me is insane by default. -

This is what i've been told by hunters. Bows are even worse. If you're hitting an animal in the butt because the accuracy isn't easy and its able to run away and not be tracked down that's not very ethical. This is what i've been told. I have no issues with hunting in general, hunting and fishing is a more ethical way to acquire meat than a lot of the types of meat we get at the grocery store.
