Well, vaccines work, so yes vaccine mandates work to lower infection rates of diseases. And yes, forcing people to do things usually gets them to do it. But there's also issues with human rights and mandates. Coercing Canadians to inject medicine into their bloodstream that they don't want has real ethical issues around consent and body autonomy. People in foreign countries don't have Charter rights.

Well this would explain why we have a bigger outbreak than the US, who has far more vaccine hesitancy than we do. But the US requires many vaccinations for immigrants while we require none. We also allow people with HIV to immigrate here and become permanent residents. Canada has to be the softest country in the world, it's unbelievable. I have some Charter issues with governments requiring vaccations among its citizens, but people from other countries have no right to enter Canada and aren't protected by the Charter before they migrate. No vaccines = no entry.

The natives have a legal right to their land, and IMO the non-natives also have a right to compensation. Unless you're Elon Musk, 100% of Trump fans have below-average intelligence because an intelligent person wouldn't fall for his BS or support his methods. Economic inequality has increased in Canada because they've flooded our cities with migrants, which started driving up housing prices, and then many of the people here with money started driving up bids on homes even further to own investment properties and completely screwing over younger generations (and migrants) while all levels of government have done almost nothing to throttle this speculation because it helps the markets, property tax revenues, their banking buddies, and their own investment property portfolios. These are all your capitalists. Then COVID happened. Canada has the most expensive housing market in the western world yet have the lowest population density LOL. TD reported that about 30% of home sales in Canada are to investors. That's 1/3. One in every 3 homes sold on your street and in your condo building are going to speculators. Every spare drop of people's incomes is going to bank mortgages now, and their parents' retirement savings are getting sucked away. No wealth is created when inflation happens. We're totally effed until it crashes, and then we're really effed.
