Chicago Is Next
Moonlight Graham replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Trump's use of the National Guard in LA was recently ruled unconstitutional. It's a military unit meant for national emergencies, not basic law enforcement. Federal crimes are enforced by the FBI anyways, like the RCMP in Canada. My understanding is municipalities, and states to an extent, are in charge of non-federal crimes in cities. Trump is ignoring the constitutional and butting in outside the federal government's jurisdiction. They need to mind their own business. If he wants to try to organize coordinated efforts between states, cities, and the FBI to fight gang violence and the drug trade that's another story, but that's not what's happening, the feds don't have the authority to bring in the national guard and leapfrog jurisdiction. I can at least give some credit to the Trump admin for at least trying to clean things up though. The extreme methods are typically the problem with Trump though, not the end goals.- 16 replies

Chicago Is Next

Poverty and firearms are a bad combo. Restrict the firearms and educate the poor is the way out of this. People who want to ignore facts and statistics should be ignored. Enforcement of laws is important too but is a reaction to symptoms, not a fix to the cause. A game of whack-a-mole. There's far more violent cities in the US than Chicago anyways. But the dolts in the Trump admin watch FOX News and Facebook memes instead of reading actual statistics and studies.- 16 replies

Discriminating against people who make up nearly half the voting population is a great way to win elections, and even red-pilling a bunch of them. The concept that everyone should have equal say and equal rights regardless of their race or gender etc has now become a foreign one to the left. They've abandoned the basic foundations of liberalism and liberal democratic rights. Progressives have become such a dolt lot over the last decade. It's no wonder the Democrats are in shambles with this kind of ludicrous nonsense. These parties have made their bed and now get to lay in it. -
You responded to a post of mine that was a week old LOL.

And how much did Biden spend on the Ukraine war? Which happened under his watch. Trump could be Mother Teresa and also cure cancer and leftwingers wouldn't acknowledge it. And I don't even like Trump.

More peaceful than any other president since at least Jimmy Carter. On defense he's a leftists' wet dream.

I'm not a Trump fan, but credit where credit's due. Protestors were the ones causing violence in California, not the National Guard or ICE.

Is the US at war with Iran and going through gazillions of armaments to feed the defence contractors like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Ukraine?
-
This sounds like speculation. I don't see any real sign he's in their pockets, at least not nearly like the other politicians. He's certainly not starting wars like the establishment GOP and Democrats do. Canada also wants to buy as much defense equipment from non-US allies as they can given the trade war with Trump.

I don't hate progressives...
Moonlight Graham replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Political Philosophy
Maybe I shouldn't be so hard on progressives, or feminism, and in fact not use those terms at all. In order to get the message across I need to use traditional propaganda techniques, the same techniques that have spread all of the socially destructive aspects that i'm talking about. That means using guilt and shame on people who disagree to enforce compliance (calling people childphobes and familyists), and figure out a way to appeal to the self-centered nature of people. And like religious propaganda, maybe I can somehow tap into people's fears. -

US has freedom of association, so shouldn't you be able to opt-in or opt-out of these things? Kind of like an employment union. Opt-in or opt-out. -

Conservatives have brainwashed for millennia, through the Church/religion, and education systems who reinforced religion and those values. It still happens, especially in conservative places like rural areas and many parts of the US. But most media and education systems have been dominated by progressives for many decades now, especially those geared to children and youth and younger adults. Children now are not being brainwashed by rightwing Disney messages. There are no mainstream movies empowering women to become homemakers and have a big family. -

Progressives are the ones who pushed birth control usage, divorce rights, legal abortions, women in the workforce, and most other anti-child and anti-family viewpoint that have tanked birth rates. Conservatives were the ones screaming from the rooftops against most or all of these things. It doesn't mean that these things are always inherently wrong, but they've been taken to an extreme by progressives. More traditional societies, such as in much of Asia and Africa, don't embrace most of these things. If you don't like me calling out all of these progressive agendas of the last 60 years, what would you like me to call it to make you feel better? I would say it's more centered on modern feminism. I don't think all women's rights are bad, but most of them have harmed the family and been taken to the extreme, and men have been convinced to go along with them. Sure, maybe my beef is modern feminism. Yes, many. And yes many are infected with progressive disease. Correct. A disease of the intellect. It's a society-wide problem spread though universities and the media, and reinforced through peers. It's not better if most modern societies are dying. 100 or 200 years ago people died younger, women couldn't vote etc but societies survived and grew and prospered. People now live for nothing but their own hedonistic pleasure and convenience.
