  1. Ha, you don’t know what I do or what I have handled, but that’s fine. None of the discussion about Indigenous injustice is about me or what I want. My only concern is getting it right. When I hear inaccuracies and the inevitable painting of some people as angels and others as demons, when I know there was plenty of bad behaviour to go around, I have to call it out. You don’t get to wear the victim shirt unless your individual story warrants it. More often than not it isn’t as simple as good guys versus bad, and it often turns out that the wolf versus grandma show is a distraction from what’s really going on.

  5. I see you're playing that old trick of trying to flood people with mulitple responses in the hopes one gets missed and you can pretend you "won" or whatever LOL I'll deal with all your ...er.... 'thinking' in one spot Facts. And no it would save us nothing. The fact that there are issues on the first nations side doesn't change anything we'd owe. I've explained this to you. I know it's difficult but try to pay attention. Ummm - you realize what i originally believed was that you thought the res schools were a bad thing. Soooo - believing you thought they were bad was 'retarded'? You don't spend a lot of time thinking before you type do you. ROFLMAO Is THAT why you're posting multiple posts? Hoping i wont' be able to find where you were being stupid? Bad news ... they're all pretty much you being stupid God you REALLY REALLY aren't very good at this It's like having my own trained monkey to watch

  11. Not if they really are. j/k Maybe the right word is "intolerant". They've got a zero-tolerancep policy, for intolerance. So does that mean the right has tolerance for intolerance? Possibly. But not when it comes from the left. So that's where we are headed as a society. Polarized out the nut, and I for one am getting sick and tired of it. I just want some peace and quiet...

  12. Everyone came from somewhere, including Indigenous. Lots of invasions, wars, and displacements going back millennia. Guess what, the settlers keep coming, 500,000 a year. Do we require that they give stuff to the people who were born here? Are Indigenous designated as the “get free stuff” group ad infinitum? If you want to fund welfare prison camp two-tier citizenship, you can advocate for that while I advocate for equal treatment under the law and self determination without special treatment. The culture of “We’ll take care of you because we know what you deserve” has created dependency and dysfunction. That’s cultural genocide because it weakens peoples and puts them in human zoos. Nothing is free, and until Indigenous can both make their own decisions and pay their own bills, real progress won’t happen. Many Indigenous have already moved on from colonial arrangements and handouts.

  14. And our institutions are having account for their actions. Why? Liability for our institutions is a collective one we're all responsible for. If anything you people who seem to think you bear no liability should pay an extra penalty for helping to drag out the process. Remember what I told you about water under the bridge? Why should I have to pay extra for the cost you add you everything? It's the same with climate change.

  17. FYI: The author you're quoting has no medical credentials to speak of, yet you're just writing her opinions down as if they carry weight - they don't. When a layman writes something like this about a Harvard-educated epidemiologist, you have to take it with a grain of salt: But how do you take it with a grain of salt when it's just her opinion? She has no stats or anything there. I don't really care what she thinks about Jefferson, Cochrane in general, or anything else for that matter.

  18. Oh, sure. Everything you said was correct, if you ignore the lies and outright farking nonsense. No, Trump's FBI, led by his hand-picked director, Christopher Wray, didn't interfere in the election to help Joe Biden. They made a deliberate choice to remain professionally aloof and to NOT repeat the mistakes of 2016. You claimed the FBI made a statement about Russian disinformation in October 2020. That was an outright lie. You later claimed that the FBI organized a group of retired private citizens to make a statement about Russian disinformation. Which is preposterous. And in fact, the letter didn't make a definitive statement, but simply raised a warning. You claimed that retired individuals like Clapper and Brennan spoke with the power of the "FBI brand" (as FBI lackeys, no less) when neither of them was ever even affiliated with the FBI. In fact, of the 51 signatories to the letter, NOT A SINGLE ONE was affiliated with the FBI. You claim the FBI "primed" the MSM while you know nothing about the quality of the intel regarding a potential disinformation campaign. That seems sinister to you because you are desperately grasping at any straw to keep your conspiracy alive. Indeed, the Russians were engaged in shenanigans again in 2020. Honestly, your are just full of crap from top to bottom, spouting off about things which you don't understand, and making claims that are entirely unmoored from logic. I'm sure it all makes perfect sense in the conspiracy fever swamp though.

  19. On my errands to town I usually had three - four stops at public places to make, post office, grocery store etc. the distance to town is 15 minutes but less than a minute between stops in town. I'd put my mask in town and leave it on when driving between stops because the mask's straps always got tangled up with my hearing aids and glasses meaning talking it off and on was a hassle. I had to spend a few minutes looking through the snow once for a hearing aid that flipped off when I took off a mask. If anyone laughed at me I found the best response was to just smile wave and say baaaaa! Saying baaaaa in someone people's faces seems get up their noses even more effectively than flipping them the bird. As for the effectiveness of masks and measures in general...I simply look at the levels of public disdain for measures and outcomes between the US and Canada where there was a clear unequivocal difference in attitudes towards the whole thing. It seems patently obvious that a lot more Canadians were willing to smile and say baaaaa than Americans and they paid a greater price in terms of deaths and hospitalizations full stop. Outcomes stemming from measures and attitudes were very predictable due to data from the Spanish Flu on these twinned issues and were why I said early in March 2020 that the US would fare much worse and I was right. Full stop. Betsey remembers that, ask her

If you engage in the DELIBERATE activity that results in pregnancy, it is not an accident. 22. Do you just not remember what you claim from one post to the next? You don't seem remember lying about the FBI releasing a statement. You don't seem remember claiming that a bunch of retired intelligence officers who shared a warning publicly were "lackeys" for the FBI, (even though the individuals you called out had never even worked for the FBI)? Okay, so you've abandoned multiple claims along the way and you're left with... not much. If they didn't release a statement as you earlier claimed (they didn't) and they didn't organize a gaggle of retirees to release a statement as you earlier claimed (they didn't) then you've now twisted yourself around so much that you've arrived at the conclusion that the FBI interfered in the election by not doing anything to interfere in the election. Genius! A masterful move on their part.

  24. And here's the thing. Appeasement never avoids a war, at best it deferrs it Saying "we dont' need to add ww3 to our problems" suggests that if we allow putin to have his way then he'll be happy and that will be the end of it. But history teaches us otherwise. Giving him Crimea did not make him go away happy, it emboldened him to invade Ukraine just a few years later. If we back down now, he'll know all he has to do is threaten ww3 to get whatever else he wants. Didn't work with hitler either. Just ask Neville Chamberlin. I can't think of a time in history that it did work. You beat a bully by ignoring his threats and smashing him in the face till he gets the message. THAT is how you avoid WW3, not by capitulation.

  25. The whole point of the quote function is to be able to directly refer to someone's comments, and deconstruct their reasoning. You've a pretty goofy tendency to just sort of make up the other poster's argument to suit your needs and argue against that, rather than actually argue or refer to (or quote) what they're saying. That's undoubtedly why you think you're so smart. Winning debates is so easy when you're actually just debating with yourself. 🤣

  26. Well we're talking about one here, so...ya. 🤡 We could also talk about Harper implementing the PBO, and then basically feuding with him at every turn. We can talk about the Senate expense scandals, the failing grades on transparency and access to information, the G20 debacle, muzzling scientists, pro-rogueing parliament, funneling something like 80% of infrastructure spending into conservative ridings, the in-and-out election financing scandal, robo-calls, contempt for parliament, and then (my favorite) - railing about Liberal Omnibus bills and snap-elections, but then passing omnibus bills himself as PM and calling snap elections after his Bill C-16 implemented fixed-election dates. You have a really bad habit of making up goofy strawmen to argue against. 🤡 Nobody said anyone was voting in FAVOR of actual corruption and bad governance, and nobody said anyone was forced to vote Liberal. My statement was that unless a superior alternative was presented (which in the case of Trudeau is actually a pretty low bar), he'll keep getting elected. 🤷‍♂️

  33. Banning Airbnb and presumably every other STR platform would also cause homelessness especially amongst seniors for whom Airbnb represents a viable occupation with the family home once the kids move out. Around here lots of 'kids' who do manage to buy a home can only do so because they run a STR to make owning their home more affordable. The key is increasing density often in spite of nimby's who've kept density low. Most of the old local nimby's have died or moved on and now in addition to my Airbnb I can legally also rent an apartment to a younger co-worker that was displaced from her old place to make way for a...you know what. I can also offer her some employment cleaning our STR and hopefully extend our means to stay in our own home for as long as possible. The demand for housing has been here ever since I came to the coast 50 years ago and built a driftwood shack on Long Beach. We're not all monsters and some of us do want to be part of the solution, I'm just thankful I can be and yes it is profitable. I'm sorry?

  38. Turpel was appointed a couple of years ago by the BC NDP government to investigate racism against FNs in the health care system in BC. Now we hear she was no native. The NDP fell for it and thought they were appointing a native to investigate the health care system. We went into the ER (emergency room) last fall and waited six hours to be seen while a young native came in half way through that time, sat in a chair playing on his smart phone, and was taken in to be treated after about 20 minutes. Didn't seem to be suffering or in pain in any way. I suspect Turpel may have instructed the health care system to give natives some kind of priority in ERs. The BC NDP seems to be bending over backward to look like they are giving natives special considerations. They passed UNDRIP and gave a large piece of land to natives up in northwest B.C. The NDP are giving natives their own justice council. Home - BC First Nations Justice Council (bcfnjc.com)

  47. There is an incredible amount of revisionist history going on here, as if all these things happened on day 1. Did you forget that the provenance of the information was so questionable and sketchy that the reporters at the NY Post wouldn't even put their byline on it? Seriously, someone at a two-bit tabloid like the Post was worried about damaging their credibility just by signing the story. The WSJ was working hard to establish provenance. It's not like this thing came with a certificate of authenticity or any chain of custody. It is NOT the FBI's job to go around correcting speculation about weird laptops and the jumble of claims around it. And to this day nothing incriminating about Joe Biden has come out of this laptop fiasco. Why should voters have gone to the polls with unsubstantiated speculation in mind that bears the imprimatur of the FBI. That's EXACTLY what the FBI did in 2016 with the effect of tilting the field and EXACTLY what they wanted to avoid in 2020.
