  1. Listen to yourself: you're saying that Pierre Poilievre is so far to one side of the political spectrum that he doesn't appeal to enough voters, so you think he can't beat sockboy? Sockboy is the most extreme politician we've ever had, by far. He's unbelievably shallow, he's ethically challenged, he's a hate monger, he dresses up like a clown, he lies about stupid things like water bottles, he used indigenous people as a prop for two years and then went to Tofino on their one day, and literally no one takes him seriously as a man or as a leader. He had to use the emergencies act before he even tried saying one thing to the Freedom Convoy. He literally froze people's bank accounts and had them trampled and beaten by police instead of just having a conversation about his own policy of force-vaxing people. That's by far the most fringe thing that any politician anywhere in the world did in the last year.

  2. I just posted that clip, so you clearly didn’t have time to watch it. People like you are the reason we end up letting governments do really stupid things.

  4. This all could’ve been resolved with an agreement to keep NATO out of Ukraine and leaving the two majority Russian regions in Eastern Ukraine autonomous. Instead we have this mess:

  5. I’d rather the Conservatives be conservatives and keep you, Jack9000, eyeball, and the other commie nutters in the Liberal Party. We’ll just wait until your mismanagement of the country becomes so painfully obvious that the public finally realizes they’ve fallen off a cliff and only a counter-movement can bring them back. Why poison the well?

  6. Where are the nukes in Ukraine, goof? It's pathetic how suspicious you are of western media, but then you're on your knees believing literally everything that comes out of Putin's Russia. Worse yet is the moral equivocating, something something about Cuba therefore invading Ukraine is totally fine! It's warped thinking, both intellectually and morally bankrupt.

  7. We operate a small business, and in the area that we work out of, that home was priced according to what we could afford, it fit all of our kids, and could fit our business. We also believed in real estate as a great investment, and in the lower mainland, I'm sure you know how true that has been since '95 when I bought my first condo. Now we have a commercial space, which takes up sq footage, but also gives us a storefront, and a smaller home with suites for the two grown-ups and their husbands. We're under 3,800 sq ft here, that's very modest for 7 people. If you ever owned a business I'm sure that you'll understand that we never took up more space than we needed because we don't have a guaranteed income and we will always have expenses. Business owners don't qualify for mortgages quite as easily as people with similar incomes and regular 9-5s. Living in excess is for people who "have made it", and right now we haven't 'made it', plus we are still supporting a lot of people - our kids are still paying off student debt so they don't pay rent. I personally drive a Passat TDI and my wife's SUV isn't a luxury brand. We don't live in excess at all and that's not our plan for the future. We're more focused on setting our kids up. I don't know how kids these days will ever own a home if their parents rent. I have ample room to criticize leftist climate alarmist idols, like Suzuki/DiCaprio/Prince William/Bernie Sanders/Barack Obama/John Kerry/Justin Trudeau, who talk about climate change from one side of their mouth while laughing out the other, and leaving behind the carbon footprint of a small- to mid-sized town.

  8. Your best defence here is that you're speaking Bidenese, so nothing that you said made sense, but I'm gonna go ahead and guess that if you said that in English it would have been stupid, misleading and lacking in historical knowledge/understanding.

  9. Nothing that Trudeau has done over the years has dampened support from his fan base. He has little use for ethics, he will not hesitate to insult and disparage anyone that dares to disagree with him. Blackface is perfectly fine too. I don't know if there's any line he won't cross to reach his goals. He is so fortunate to have the full support of the MSM to cover up his mistakes both past and present. What have I left out? Oh yes, groping a female reporter and the non disclosure agreement with a former female student that may be lurking in the shadows. Nothing to see here, move along. Poilievre is the current front runner and he and everyone else running for the leadership is going to face a barrage of attacks from the media.

  10. OK. Instead, I'll tell you a story... My wife and I had twin boys in 2001. By 2003 I had them on skates in our yard. By the time they were old enough to play organized hockey, they were begging to play. So I coached them...from the age of 5 till they were teens. I coached basically the same group of kids, give or take, all those years in succession. My dad did the same for my brother and I with baseball. So I used one of his techniques. I have a very loud whistle. Much louder and ear-piercing than a ref's whistle. I also have a rather loud and powerful voice. I ran that team, year after year, with strict rule and command. And ya know what? The kids loved it. I loved it too. I always stressed respect and honour. The parents loved that. To this day, in our community, I run into the young men I coached, and their parents. We visit and catch-up on things. They still call me "Coach". The point being..."teachers" must be a lot of things. I was a volunteer. But I both wanted to volunteer and completely enjoyed doing it. I setup a command situation and maintained command. I had the skills to produce good results. Any person who cannot execute these basic requirements when dealing with young children, should not be a "teacher".

  11. Where I'm going with this is that your attitude sucks. This is the dictionary definition of polarization - us vs them. It's a thoughtless, immature and utterly unproductive way of thinking and will achieve nothing but more division. There is a wide spectrum of political attitudes in Canada, from the furthest left to the furthest right and everything in between. The notion that these fall into two camps of "conservatives" or "liberals" and that they're 100% different is frankly stupid, and that should be self-evident.

  12. Correction: It's a war brought on by ONE war-mongering fool. It's a defensive alliance. That's why Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania etc all joined. Without NATO, old Vlad just rolls over them. He doesn't fear being attacked by NATO. He fears that NATO frustrates his megalomania - his dreams of a restored Russian Empire. His early popularity was based on plans to modernize the Russian economy, which has stagnated. Russian birth rates are among the worst in the world. Half the population earns less than $800/m. Putin's adventuring in Ukraine is a distraction from his own woeful performance and his regime's corruption.

  19. You should write a book about the follies of the American governments that have been responsible for the same thing that people like you say Russia is accused of. America has been an accomplice for many civilian casualties in many countries. The communists were able to colonize half of Europe because of America and Britain handed over and allowing that murdering communist dictator Stalin to take half of Europe. You know dyk all about what went on in Chechnya and Georgia because you were not there, right? You are only going by what the lying media tells you what happened. The story that I have been getting from the alternative media is that it is the Ukranian army that is doing all the killing bombing in the Ukraine. America pretty much invaded Afghanistan also. They lost that war just like the Russians did when they were in Afghanistan several decades ago. There have been many countries that have invaded and occupied other countries in the past and no doubt they probably did the same thing to the women that they conquered. Women are easy targets. A fact of life.

  21. and here, again, is the thinking that dooms the CPC to loser-ville. Everyone who's voted CPC is completely opposite of everyone who's voted Liberal. If you can't see the problem with that, there's really nothing else to say to you.

  22. An electric car is out of the question for me as I have a 180km daily commute to and from work. The notion of having to add another half hour or more every two days to charge before I even get home won't work. I was car pooling with one other guy and now we have another to share the driving. This recent massive hike in the cost of gas will have a disproportionate effect on poor people but that means nothing to someone like Justin Trudeau who was fortunate to have been born into wealth. The nearest small town to me is about a 25 min drive. I used to think nothing of it to drive there on a weekend to shop but I will no longer take that drive. My car is a compact four cylinder. I don't see anything on the market that fits my budget and needs. Hyundai's two electric models are around 45 grand. The Nissan Leaf is too small and the range too little. Chevrolet's models are around 40 grand and then there's the iffy GM reliability. When there's an electric car for around 25 grand with 500km range then that will get my attention. The elephant in the room for more electric cars in the future is going to be the resistance from environmentalists to the most sensible source of electricity, nuclear. I might bite the bullet and retire earlier than I planned. I do think the Trudeau and Biden governments are privately thrilled about the price of gas now. 25. Albertan?? 35K posts must mean you have no life Michael LOL Anyway, Quebec means very little to most Canadians, exceptions are Quebecers themselves and politicians. Quebecers because they think of nothing else except themselves. Politicians because they have to suck up to Quebec because of some idiotic legislation has has outlived it's reasoning and usefulness. Je me souviens too because I remember how much we have to suck up to Quebec.

  26. The worst part is that there ARE lots of teachers who work hard and make differences in their students' lives. The Teacher's Union, however, has turned it into a sad joke where nothing more than the bare minimum is required and far too many of the teachers offer nothing more. It's been almost 20 years since I was in school but I would say that 1/5 of the teachers I had in high school taught me anything. The other 4/5 were glorified babysitters who did little more than grade tests and projects. Everything I learned was from my textbooks. My chemistry teacher in my final year of high school had been using the same tests every year for as long as anyone could remember. We got one of my friend's older sisters to give us her mid-term exam (she was 3 years older than us) and our mid-term was identical. Thanks for helping me get my scholarships, teach!

  29. But to speak to the OP. Hate for Putin's Admin should not be conflated with hate for Russians. Putin will do more to Damage Russia's reputation than anyone in the West. Scores of Western Businesses will now refuse to do business in Russia because it's better business to oppose Russia than do business with them.

  34. Well when so many facts are dangerous in and of themselves I'm not surprised people don't trust fact checkers. That said, I think if you're willing to use them you should be just as subject to them. OTOH refusing to use them doesn't mean they still can't or won't be used against you. Suck it up and deal with it.

  35. The fact you believe what you're saying in that second paragraph shows you are a victim of the shift in the Overton window. What you describe there is now and should always be the far left. Not just left. The woke left is also shifting cultural norms and that might be even more heinous. And those you call "centre" are deceiving themselves into believing they haven't been affected and haven't been shifted or are shifting across the new societal lines. Lefty.
