The perception in the US which is what i'm assuming you're talking about is that it's of sufficient volume to influence the outcome of the election. And for many that's real, for others it's not. But as you're probably alluding to, for those who feel it's substantial, it can lead to very real world consequences, whether it is or it isn't. actually polling indicates that the losing side mostly feels the election is "rigged" going back to 2000, possibly earlier but we don't have the data. And both sides are about the same in that regard. I think that's more 'sour grapes' than anything. But also people don't have faith in their system. One of the problems though with the american system is there's so many 'holes' in the system that would allow for undetected cheating that even when there's no direct evidence of it, it may well still have happened theoretically. I think they need to lock that crap down if they're ever going to restore faith. Canada has had similarly close elections, hell in the last 2 trudeau elections the CPC won the popular vote over the libs and still lost the election, and you don't hear much of the 'election was stolen' nonsense up here. Elections have to be locked tight against fraud for people to have faith in them and the US has a problem in that regard.

This is entirely the result of two NDP moves: 1. The federal NDP didn’t support having the protection of property be in our Constitution (unlike in the US). 2. The BC NDP government signed on to UNDRIP (UN Declaration on Rights of Indigenous People), which the BC top court now references as an excuse to hand over land to natives, stripping title from property owners. These moves may end up being the undoing of Canada, because working people who buy a home and struggle to pay the bills may not like having their property taken away. Go figure.

Coast Guard, cybersecurity, intelligence all are civilian examples of legitimate defence expenditures. Money spent in the current fiscal year and going forward like operations and maintenance is legitimate defence expenditure in full compliance with the letter and spirit of NATO’s guidelines.
