You wouldn't listen to an immigrant CBC person for any other reason than they denouncing the CBC. Niw if you'll excuse me... 🙂4 points

Personally I think things are going to get very, very bad in Canada. And even then, most of you will still vote Liberal. You have to save face. I don't know how bad it has to get to wake you guys up. 25% living in food insecurity and going up. Homeless encampments springing up across Canada and going up. Free drugs for everyone. Spending has increased, handouts to other countries have increased while our own infrastructure crumbles. Healthcare - over 20,000 Canadians dying on wait lists every year. Educational system crumbling - teachers have said it's too much immigration, too many in the classes don't speak English and have behavioural problems, they can't focus on teaching. It didn't take a genius to know that Bill C-75 was going to increase crime, especially violent crime, rapes and pedophiles. Energy superpower? On what? Solar panels and wind turbines that don't perform in cloud and freezing temperatures? Our energy grid is going to become increasingly unreliable, like it did in Germany and the UK. There will be no oil & gas or LNG development. That was a total lie. We all know it now. Industry has been strangled under the Liberals and it will continue to be. Our forestry industry is nearly gone. None of this is Trump's fault. Reports from the UK, both from left & right sources are highly critical of his time as Banker. He spent way too much, printed too much money and they're still trying to dig themselves out of the mess he left, bankrupted them with green policies that only enriched himself. No, it's going to get very, very, very bad in Canada. And then Carney & all the friends he appointed while in power will move back to the US or London or wherever they want, loaded down with piles of cash. Including our pension funds. I don't believe he has any intentions of living in Canada. He's only here to get rich off his Net Zero dream. Canada is the last place for him to do that because it's failed everywhere else. All these MOU's and supposed trade deals? They mostly benefit Brookfield, if you really look into them. They're just pieces of paper for Canadians. so I guess to answer your question - I voted against all this. My ethics and morality still stand. If the Conservatives were doing all these things, they would lose my support completely. That's the difference between us. How bad does it have to get before YOU wise up?4 points

Ironically, it was the Liberals that did this by invoking the Emergency Act illegally and violating our Charter Rights. Carney, advising Trudeau at the time, wrote an Op-Ed encouraging the Liberals to both invoke the Act and freeze bank accounts and to deal severely with protesters, calling them seditious and treasonous. Conservatives voted against it.3 points

I figure Mike is a typical TDS victim. That state of mind trumps his common sense. I also think he's finding it very hard to come to grips with the failure of the institutions he relies on.3 points

The NDP leadership vote is a fraud. I tried to vote online and it was impossible. I tried to vote by phone, and they told me I wasn’t registered. I received an envelope in the mail that was already sealed and contained no ballot. If I cannot vote, I will not support the elected leader, and the candidates who lost should not accept the result of the vote. I wanted to support Tanille.2 points

It's generally a pointless debate with your crowd but let's try again real quickly.... 1. Yes, there is a way to prove the premise with scientific information gathered from ice cores, rocks and tree rings. And 2. Of course there is no concern for you, with the exception of the costs climate change adds to your cost of living, but there is concern for future generations if we stay the same course, which fortunately we're not as global energy continues to evolve to clean, cleaner and renewable forms of energy....Ie; reducing carbon emissions. You and other bandwagon climate deniers refer to the 'climate religious', while most call them scientists. It's a tough argument you have though in saying we will research when in fact we've been research for decades already. Just a quick link, but lot's more out there if interested.... https://science.nasa.gov/climate-change/evidence/ Earth's climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 800,000 years, there have been eight cycles of ice ages and warmer periods, with the end of the last ice age about 11,700 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era — and of human civilization. Most of these climate changes are attributed to very small variations in Earth’s orbit that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives. The current warming trend is different because it is clearly the result of human activities since the mid-1800s, and is proceeding at a rate not seen over many recent millennia.1 It is undeniable that human activities have produced the atmospheric gases that have trapped more of the Sun’s energy in the Earth system. This extra energy has warmed the atmosphere, ocean, and land, and widespread and rapid changes in the atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere, and biosphere have occurred. You're welcome...2 points

There was a time in my younger days when I was intrigued by the NDP, then Bob Rae won big in Ontario. The next morning at work, one of my co-workers went on a rant about how bad things are going to get. I had a 'wait and see' attitude. He was so right, they were a disaster, and from that time I've had a strong dislike for that party. They are terrible on fiscal policy, they are anti-Semitic, pro-terrorist, anti- oil and gas.2 points

What hilarious is that with all the attacks he’s carried out on various countries, not to mention the embargo on Cuba (who is next on his attack list) and his threats to forcibly annex Greenland he is the most warmongering president in decades. The obvious tell that he wasn’t the “peace president” was when he renamed the Dept of Defense the Department of War despite having run for office as the supposed “peace president” who only wanted Ukraine to surrender to Russia because he believes no human life should be sacrificed for any cause. And now all the mindless MAGA sheep who foolishly believed that obviously false nonsense are cheering on as he aimlessly kills people without any kind of plan or strategy, just hoping for something to happen that he claim as a victory. Meanwhile the juvenile “secretary of war” rocks out to the death and carnage like a coked-out teenager. The difference between a Nobel Peace Prize and a FIFA Peace Prize.2 points

The same way they claim that justin Trudeau is a great financial planner and that Carney is achieving all kinds of things. They detached their brains from reality and believe whatever their echo chamber tells them But I think it puts it to bed for the rest of us1 point

I look at the CBC and compare it to the BBC, and it's night and day. Yes, the BBC is much better funded, but it's also been able to stay relevant to Brits while at the same time exporting British culture to the world. I don't think the CBC is controlled by the Liberals as some of the monkeys on this forum think, but it's long been aligned with the Liberals and they scratch each other's back. I don't consider it a great place to get news.1 point

Carney is more interested in pursuing the Brookfield agenda. Canada's economy is secondary. If things do turn around, then I'll be one of the first to admit Carney did well.1 point

Is Dhanraj or the current and former CBC employees, who he said are afraid to speak out publicly that contacted him calling for the CBC to be shaken up and reformed or be shut down outright? I'm all for reforming much of our government's domain where it intersects with the public's, which of course is just about everywhere including the CBC. I certainly get it that politicians and political parties are good at subverting the public good for their own but I don't see why that should be an excuse for shutting institutions down that have demonstrated an indispensable good to the public. Why are you people so quick to throw the pig out with the trough? What's your real issue here?1 point

Well...giving them the benefit of the doubt, which I dont really think they deserve at this point but... It is a scary premise. Very scary in fact. The poisoning and/or altering the climate so much...we all die. Mankind ceases to exist. Ya gotta think quite a number of the...less stable(?) among us would get scared. Perhaps even terrified to the point where they'd willingly damage they're own families, inorder to somehow soothe their fear and dread. BUT... How long have we...more stable(?) people, been trying to put the brakes on the imposed "greenie" regulations, identifying the basic fact that there actually is no cause for all this fear. There's evidence of Man having an effect on climate and at what??? 8 billion? I'm not surprised. The basic problem is...Man is not altering the climate to any heightened state of issue. So imposing stifling regulations to combat a minor issue is... Stupid and/or just down right fvking mean.1 point

🤣 Nice try, Einstoned. He's a hypocrite because he's not railing against the racist system that's forcing people to show ID to shovel snow, but the fact that they can't vote without ID is somehow a crime to him. Mamdani and the Dems: "Only poor white people can get ID, Black people are too dumb to get it, so poor blacks can't vote. But somehow they can get ID to shovel snow if they want to. Or maybe they're too lazy to shovel snow anyways, so it doesn't matter?" What's the deal, Hodad? Why is there a crusade to allow people to vote with no ID but not to allow people to work with no ID? Make it make sense... Isn't the right to work arguably far more important than being allowed to vote? If you can't work tomorrow, you can't eat next week. If you can't vote tomorrow, it doesn't matter yet, because you don't need to be able to vote until November.1 point

Robust, state-level post-election checks and independent research consistently find only a handful to a few dozen proven or credible instances of noncitizen voting in modern elections. An example is Michigan -15 cases out of more than 5.7 million ballot. Nationally, long-running compilations and nonpartisan reviews highlight that proven cases across the years number in the dozens, not thousand or millions (gasp!) The BIPARTISAN POLICY CENTER and others summarized only a few dozen verified incidents and that over long periods. Ur being pi$$ed on and worse ............ ur carrying their water. Are u a 'flat earther'?1 point

Here's what CBC is talking about today: That's from CBC's main page. No mention of the whistleblower. Hmmm. What about the "Canada" page: Not in the ^top^ section... Not in the ^middle^ section either. It's on the bottom right corner of the "Canada" page, literally the very last spot your eyes will get to on the page. So they omitted the key details of the story and put the story in the last-lace spot on their entire website. If this was a story about Trump from an anonymous source it would be on CBC's front page, for sure. "Anonymous source says that Trump said "shithole countries" at a WH meeting" was a front-page story for CBC, but when their own reporter shows his face and testifies about what's basically the end of our democracy it's on the backburner, with the main details omitted. Snowfall warnings in Northern Ontario made the top section of the page today, but CBC banning conservatives from TV is an also-ran.1 point

AOC is not radical enough any more. She's old news. The left is going through a prolonged extinction burst. They lost their ideological hold on the government so they are acting out like petulant little children. Usually an extinction burst is short lived, but they are so devastated that it just keeps going.1 point

I was accused of denying science. I asked for an example. I have yet to get an answer. And why? Well obviously because there is no answer. It was nothing but a lame attempt at shaming by a desperate climate change deciple. Nothing more. See..."science" has determined that in all probability, man has contributed to climate change. But the kicker is 2 fold. 1. There's no way to actually prove the premise. And 2. There appears to be little need for concern. One of the biggest problems the climate religious have, is man. Man has a need to resolve issues. Thus if we are creating an issue, we will do what is called "research" in order to mitigate any risks. So today, climate change is not a pressing issue and tomorrow, man will engage in this "research" and will mitigate any risks. Now you know. You're quite welcome.1 point

Yes, they are: It’s obvious that what’s happening in Portland isn’t mere protest; it’s premeditated anarchy — the latest chapter of violence in Portland at the hands of Antifa and the Radical Left: Since early June, Antifa militants have laid siege to the ICE field office in south Portland. The terrorists have violently breached the facility by using a stop sign as a battering ram, hurled explosives and projectiles, burned American flags, viciously assaulted, attacked, and injured officers, doxed officers, berated neighbors, and even rolled out a guillotine. As part of the ongoing siege, dozens have been arrested and charged with serious crimes such as arson, assaulting federal officers, and resisting arrest. In May 2024, an “Antifa anarchist movement” took credit for burning more than a dozen Portland Police Bureau training vehicles. In May 2022, Antifa members deployed smoke grenades, paint-filled balloons, and fireworks to break up a campaign event for a Republican political candidate. In August 2021, Antifa terrorists violently attacked right-wing demonstrators with explosives and chemical spray. In January 2021, more than 100 Antifa demonstrators attacked Portland police and vandalized property, with some armed with knives and long poles. In October 2020, Antifa terrorists sparked a riot at an “Indigenous Peoples Day of Rage” event, toppling statues of Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt and vandalizing multiple buildings. In August 2020, a self-described Antifa militant shot and killed a Patriot Prayer supporter during a riot in Portland, then was later killed after he brandished a weapon while law enforcement attempted to apprehend him on murder charges. In 2020, Portland Antifa terrorists led 100 days of carnage and violence in Portland — in which they rioted, looted, burned buildings, bludgeoned officers, deployed power tools and commercial-grade fireworks as weapons, and attempted to destroy a local courthouse. In May 2020, Antifa terrorists released a “chilling video” in which they threatened the city’s mayor and publicized his home address. In November 2019, an Antifa terrorist was sentenced to six years in prison after “using a weapon against a conservative demonstrator who suffered blows to the head that the victim claims left him with a concussion and cuts that required 25 staples to close.” In June 2019, Portland Antifa terrorists were arrested after assaulting rightwing demonstrators and police with quick drying cement and bear spray. In August 2018, a Bernie Sanders voter was beaten by Antifa militants “for carrying an American flag.” In 2017, Antifa terrorists caused an innocent Wisconsin family to be inundated with threats after they published their address online in a botched doxing attempt. In 2017, Antifa terrorists attacked and injured law enforcement and attendees at a pro-free speech rally. In 2017, Antifa threatened organizers of the annual Avenue of Roses Parade for including a Republican-themed float — prompting the group to cancel the event altogether. In 2016, Antifa-led rioting caused more than $1 million in damage in Portland after President Trump’s election. https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/10/portland-fake-news-ignores-antifa-violence-residents-pleas-for-help/#:~:text=In 2020%2C Portland Antifa terrorists,to destroy a local courthouse.1 point
