Shows a man who assaulted an Officer WHILE ARMED, then fighting to resist arrest WHILE ARMED, and in doing so, officers feared for their lives, shooting him in self-defense. This is common sense stuff Robo and I can't stress this enough: If you are going to fight Law Enforcement, don't do it while armed. If you plan to fight Law Enforcement and obstruct them and otherwise be an agitator, do not do it while armed.3 points

The guy, armed with a firearm, attacked ICE agents after being propagandized by Tim Walz and the Democrats. Liberalism is a mind virus that sends you off the deep end2 points

They shot him 9 times while he was prone on his belly, red hat. And, they'd already disarmed him. You'd of noticed that after watching the multiple videos circulating. If you weren't such a halfwit.2 points

Carney shouldn't have said "new world order"... when he was shifting Canada's "economic and strategic partnerships" from the US to communist China. Wake up. From your LPOC-coloured glasses POV that was always going to be cute and positive, because Carney said it, but from a reality-based Canadian and American POV, that was catastrophically stupid. Ask yourself: if Poilievre did this, would you somehow see just a teensy bit of a problem with it? 😂 The CBC would be ranting about"Chinagate: the biggest political blunder in the last 200 years of Canada-US relations", and they would also be calling the next election "a referendum on Chinagate". Carney is even talking about letting China be a partner in a new pipeline. Isn't that weird, when you consider that the Libs spent so much time and energy making pipelines impossible, and Trudeau chased away over $135B in energy projects in Alberta? Did those two chase away American and Canadian investment to pave the way for China to slide in there and get a bigger share? A controlling share? Here's something about China that you don't know: they killed millions of their own people in the middle of the 1900s ("the 1900s" sounds so long ago now), and then they did God-only-knows-what to all of their own babies circa 2000, you are completely oblivious to reality if you think that killing 500,000 Canadians would phase them. And was it really a casual mistake to talk about the "new world order" while he was right on the podium at the WEF...? The place that our LPOC MP's go to get their marching orders? Or did he use his inside voice out loud?2 points

No. Some have tried. Everyone wound up injured. Some more than others. See...there are certain lines "real men"...especially family men...have that a wise man never crosses unless he wants to fight. For me...accusations of gangbanging happens to be across that line.2 points

That's interesting because I'm fine with all democrats losing their citizenshp and being kicked out of the country with the criminal aliens.2 points

As many as 30,000 people could have been killed in the streets of Iran on Jan. 8 and 9 alone, two senior officials of the country’s Ministry of Health told TIME—indicating a dramatic surge in the death toll. So many people were slaughtered by Iranian security services on that Thursday and Friday, it overwhelmed the state’s capacity to dispose of the dead. Stocks of body bags were exhausted, the officials said, and eighteen-wheel semi-trailers replaced ambulances. https://time.com/7357635/more-than-30000-killed-in-iran-say-senior-officials/ This is just an estimate but I would suspect the figure is much higher.2 points

OMG, so dumb. They start out taking about a data breach, but then describe the ICE List, which is just a wiki compiled from publicly available information: ICE agents who post themselves on LinkedIn etc. If ICE agents are doxxing themselves, will Noem try to prosecute them? It's a mystery.🙄2 points

Are you American?? You do realize it is the Americans that pay the tariffs? They have to buy the imports, not us. Canadians can pay the rent and eat if we sell our exports. Will Trumps 100% tariffs also include all the electricity the US imports from Quebec and powers a huge market in the Eastern Seaboard of the US?? Or The electricity from Ontario that supplies a large part of Michigan and other states?? How about a 100% tariff on the oil form Alberta?? Lastly, almost all of our exports are covered under CUSMA which has no (or very little) tariff. Unless Trump decides to invalidate CUSMA now, things remain the same.2 points

I saw nothing in any footage so far that justified the shooting. He was disarmed before the agent started shooting. It's pretty hard to tell whether he was even resisting or not. It was a very stupid idea to bring even a legal firearm to the protest, but that's not an excuse to shoot him. He wasn't threatening anyone with it.2 points

Carney did his job well at Davos. The only hope for the rest of the western world to stand up to Trump is by doing it together. Alone we're all screwed. We can look toward China and India as a hedge, but they aren't our friends or allies. The countries that believe in democratic values need to stick together. The US has tapped out.2 points

He did nothing wrong. Video tries desperately to skew the truth by claiming that he put himself in front of her vehicle but he wasn't in front of her vehicle till she backed up and turned. He's lying about what police officers are trying to do as well. The whole video is a propaganda attempt, that particular news source is well known for lying and doctoring footage.2 points

WTF? He didn't assault anyone. It's one of the fascist thugs that comes over and violently shoves that woman to the ground. Because she had the audacity to film them.2 points

Agent in gray jacket takes Pretti's gun out of the holster and carries it away from the attack. Not only did Pretti not brandish the weapon, he didn't unholster it. They did. And carried it away. Then shot him over and over again. They executed an unarmed man in the street. Now go lie about it some more.2 points

The is no lie there. Those are the facts. The are multiple videos from multiple angles. That's exactly what happened. The Trump administration is brazenly lying. This was a murder in broad daylight by fascist thugs who were angry about being filmed.2 points

Yes, he stood there with both arms out even where being pepper sprayed. Not aggressive. They took him down, beat him, took the gun from his holster, THEN shot him. Murder. This is a fascist government that is terrorizing and murdering its citizens. That's the point we've reached.2 points

You are a shameless liar. He did not assault anyone. His legally owned and carried firearm was holstered. The masked thugs took him down, beat him, to the gun, then shot him. We can all watch the video. We can all plainly see that you're lying. Why even bother?2 points

That's the most ridiculous thing I've seen yet. Sounds like one petulant teenager backing up another. Yeah your Dad will only give you the ten bucks in his wallet and not drive to town to the ATM for more because he's cheap and doesn't love you. Carney is the one that's bluffing and losing face? Not Mr. Threaten&insult? TACO TACO TACO TACO2 points

Not at all when the interference has merit. Buyers are free to choose what they buy or not and from whom. Consumers, at least in Canada for the moment, are also perfectly free to influence their elected representatives to reflect their values when making trade deals. Political parties who ignore this do so at their peril.2 points

Officer is standing his ground. Walz continues to incite violence and should be deemed as a terrorist threat2 points

I watched the video. Don't bring a gun to a "protest" where you are going to be an agitator obstructing ICE and then assault an ICE Officer and resist arrest. Those are all recipes for disaster.2 points

Michael, Never assume a red hat will ever stop attacking the truth. You cant fact check someone out of a cult. The red hats political beliefs isnt about truth, its about identity. This is evident in how they dress to flaunt their tribalism. You'd think that if you show them the facts, that theyre going to wake up. Thats not going to happen. Remember, you're not challenging their opinion, your challenging their identity. So when confronted, they double down. Even when the evidence is undeniable. Even if the lies are obvious. In their minds, any views that differ must be fraudulent. They need to believe it, because believing the lie makes them feel safe. Their tribe is where they feel safe. Their tribe is where they belong. In their minds, belonging always beats being right. Its almost as if the more logical and evidence based an arguments is, the more desperate they become to hold onto their delusions. Which is overwhelmingly obvious of many of the posters here. Nothing will change in the minds of the red hats, until the cost of the lies become more costly than the comfort the lies bring. They can lose all humanity, all empathy. Remember, empathy and compassion are evolved states of being. They require the mental capacity to step past our most primal urges. In the last few years, the red hats have come to believe that weaponized cruelty is part of some well-thought out Master plan. Cruelty is seen by some as an adroit cudgel to gain power. Empathy and kindness are considered weak. I'm here to tell you that when someone's path through this world is marked with acts of cruelty, they have failed the first test of an advanced society. They never forced their animal brain to evolve past its first instinct. They never forged new mental pathways to overcome their own instinctual fears. And so their thinking and problem solving lacks the imagination and creativity that emotionally mature people have in spades. Over my many years in politics and business, I have found one thing to be universally true. The most evolved folks in the room are the most empathetic, emotionally mature, and humane.2 points

This was a very brilliant speech in which Carney demonstrated command. I have to admit that it was a courageous call to action, but I hope Canadians and our leaders do some soul-searching as to how we let our plight get to this point. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JtF630gnvZQ1 point

Sorry but there's no indication that Russia were china are going away this century. In fact if anything there's some reason to believe that Chinese may be extremely resurgent in the not too distant future. Russia could definitely go either way. So I'm afraid you lost that one handily kiddo. Like I said, it's not nice to be calling trump a liar like that1 point

Trump is not stopping Canada from doing anything....like everything, trump is saying there will be consequences... Yes we have free speech, but it has limits and consequences...someone could call your wife a slu!, because everyone has free speech , does not mean there is no consequences to those words...Trump has given us a warning, and I'm sure they already had a conversation to explain the consequences in detail.... You can't ignor all those other duties as a nation the federal government has like making sure we can defend the nation, and service our sovereignty, that we can respond to emergencies, that we abide by the rule of law, and have the means to uphold those laws Our nation has come up short, we were once a middle power, today we think we are a middle power but in reality some third world nations are able to protect themself better than we do.... My point is this if you can't lead your nation and provide all of these basic principles, they expect to be told what to do...And by just pi$$ing off whom ever you want, then expect to face the consequences, and in this case it is tariffs... Sorry, but God is not going to protect us from the worlds largest economy and military power...hence why diplomacy was created....to find a way to compromise...Now as you say Carney is a man of free will and can say what ever he wants... that's not diplomacy, that's him acting like an individual. When he speaks in a public forum he is required to speak as a diplomat/ politician...not an individual... What you and others think is some great form of statementship, in my opinion was reckless, knowing what we know about trump and what he responds to or makes him angry....to add to all of that what did this speech give Canada ? other than a reprimand for trump, and his people....has it given us a trade deal with the US, are we closer to getting one, Is our deal with China which is only 3.9 % of all exports...worth the risk of tariffs from our largest trading partner worth well over 69.3 % of all our exports..... With CUSMA coming up for review, is it to our benefit to poke trump are we getting a better deal by doing so....or are we risking not having a CUSMA at all.... We are the mouse that lives next to the elephant, diplomacy is all we have to deal with trump and his crew...right now we are acting like that toy poodle , being all yaky yaky yak....not making any friends, and acting like we are something special....when we have not shown the world we are anything except dependent on the States... And if you think all of this chest thumping, is worth it, then fine, but we should be prepared for the consequences...or learn to STFU and start listening more...1 point

Pretti wasn't ARMED after the agent stole his gun from his holster. And you have no idea what is "irrelevant now." Just like you demonstrated you have no idea what happened.1 point

Do you not see all the assumptions you are making? How do you know that was Prity's gun? Why did he drop a gun when he got shot? BTW, the video that shows him taking the gun was altered. We know this because there are multiple videos that show shots fired at the exact same time as that guy is pulling out. But the video you are referring to removed the sound for the first shot to make it seem like that gun was gone long before Prity got shot. It was not.1 point

After the Greenland saga and the utterly disgraceful comments about European soldiers in Afghanistan, I hope the oddly persistent delusion that Trump is a friend of Europe’s is well and truly gone from the mind of any reasonable person. Relying on US military equipment or high tech is no longer a safe option for any country.1 point

Yes. Though different countries have different political traditions, democratic or authoritarian, that doesn’t mean that they can’t and don’t change. Money goes where the growth and certainty are. If we can make mutually beneficial deals with countries THAT STICK TO THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT, then we should make those deals. Just because the U.S. has played fair and China hasn’t at different times doesn’t mean those roles can’t reverse. Trump is pushing the West closer to China when he sets up radical and coercive trade barriers with allies, because there are only so many customers out there. The original and positive goal of trade expansion was to create new markets for goods and ideas by trading with developing countries that would eventually have the means to import more stuff. That is happening, and it needed to happen faster, so some tariffing was and remains necessary. When you impose high tariffs on allies with which you have quite balanced trade (e.g. Canada-US), that can only be interpreted as a form of coercion, which Trump has proudly stated publicly it is. Canada has to look elsewhere than the U.S. and reduce US leverage over Canada. Blaming Canada for trying to defend its economy and sovereignty adds insult to injury. Canadians must never forget this mistreatment, because it can happen again. Once Canada diversifies markets, grows its domestic market, and boosts its military, the U.S. won’t be able to damage us to the degree they are now, but here’s the rub: Canadians won’t trust Americans as they once did. Relationships are worth more than a few extra bucks, which people quickly learn when the going gets tough. Kicking people when they’re down is low, and there are many historic examples. It’s what separates a liberator from a tyrant. At his age, it would serve Trump well to think about his legacy.1 point

No it’s completely fair and reasonable to question the cultural and political impacts of immigration, especially mass immigration, which is what we have to have to sustain our population. Associating that reality with racism is foolish, because a country that can’t control its immigration has no ability to maintain its people’s values and interests, which is the central role of the nation state, unless you’re a true internationalist who doesn’t believe in borders, but that kind of global state is not widely supported now. Carney’s speech was about using the rules based order and strategic partnerships to protect the sovereignty of countries. Countries have peoples, cultures and values. The purpose of the nation state is to advance the cultural and economic interests of the people in the nation state.1 point
