Someone wrote this in FB: I was reading back through some history this morning, thinking about the 'Brownshirts' in 1930s Germany. These weren't the polished generals in the fancy medals you see in the old movies. No, these were the street brawlers. The muscle. They had a very specific job: Make a mess. They’d go into the streets, pick fights, and stir up enough chaos that the average person was scared to walk to the grocery store. Then—and here’s the trick—the man at the top would put on a clean suit, stand in front of a microphone, and say: "Look at this chaos. The government is weak. But me? I’m the only one who can bring back order." It was a scam. They created the fire just so they could sell you the extinguisher. A lot of folks fell for it because they were tired. They were exhausted by the noise and the fighting, so they handed the keys over to the guy who promised a little quiet—not realizing he was the one who ordered the windows broken in the first place. The Lesson: Never trust a man who says "only I can fix it" while his friends are the ones breaking it behind your back. Peace that requires a bully’s permission isn't peace... it’s a hostage situation.3 points

There's that American chickenhawk bravado on cue! NATO members and everyone else in the world, including China and Russia, know how stoopid your username likenesses (how embarrassing!) were in foreign policy and looks like Trump is doing his best impression. I'm just looking for any evidence of this phantom $4.5B deal you've claimed exists. The only place it's shown up anywhere is in your imagination and in your junk AI-chatbot outputs. It certainly doesn't show up in the useless links you provided. The key point that underlines your buffoonery is that you could take 30 seconds to find a simple quote that references that number and the deal in question, and then paste it here with a link cited. That'd be the end of it. Any time I tried to dispute you, you could just copy and paste that cite again. Instead, you're just uselessly pleading and insisting that your claim has already been proven, and we'll get pages and pages of worthless bullshitting about why you won't provide that simple slam-dunk citation. It's because you're full of shit and you can't. 🤡2 points

Atlanta Fed: "Latest estimate: 5.1 percent — January 09, 2026 The GDPNow model estimate for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the fourth quarter of 2025 is 5.1 percent on January 9, down from 5.4 percent on January 8. After this morning’s releases from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and the US Census Bureau, the nowcast of fourth-quarter real residential investment growth decreased from 1.5 percent to -5.8 percent." Native Born Employment Participation is up sharply since January: Foreign Born Employment is down sharply since January: Trading Economics: "The US trade deficit narrowed sharply to $29.4 billion in October 2025, the smallest gap since June 2009, down from a revised $48.1 billion in September and well below forecasts of a $58.1 billion shortfall. The implementation of tariffs led to significant swings in trade flows, particularly in non-monetary gold and pharmaceutical products. Imports declined 3.2% to a 21-month low of $331.4 billion, led by a big fall in pharmaceutical preparations and to a smaller extent nonmonetary gold and transport. On the other hand, purchases went up for computer accessories, telecommunications equipment, and computers. Exports rose 2.6% to a record $302 billion, led by a surge in nonmonetary gold and other precious metals while a fall was seen in pharmaceuticals and government goods and services. The largest gaps were recorded with Mexico ($-17.9 billion), Taiwan ($-15.7 billion), Vietnam ($-15 billion) and China ($-13.7 billion). The trade gap with the EU narrowed sharply to $6.3 billion. source: Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)" ********** Despite what the doom and gloom economists and @CdnFox said 😉, the tariffs are having a tremendous, positive effect on our economy. Americans are gaining jobs. The trade deficit is plummeting. Exports are up. The GDP is through the roof. Inflation is fairly normal. It is time for congress to permanently institute these tariffs into law.2 points

You told me eh? You have no bloody idea "what they likely said" and I bet there's a good reason "they probably don't want to give that info out." Are you defending the notion that someone should have to file an ATIP to obtain the most basic piece of information about a publicly funded trial (announced with great fanfare) as the precursor to a billion dollar national confiscation effort? Put another way, do you think there wouldn't be a huge announcement if they had recovered 1500 AR15s? We would be choking on the pictures right now and you know it. But after 6 weeks there were only 25 rifles recovered, that's five bundles of five, all of them would fit in a smart car and we hear nothing but crickets. If we are going to embark on a major effort like this this shouldn't the press be asking the most basic of questions on our behalf... the sort of questions that any sensible person would ask if they had the platform to ask them? It's the only question of merit in the entire exercise and that was the sole point of doing it. It reminds me of the climate change boondoggle... any child with a hand held calculator could see that the math wasn't working, as a result they had questions that went unanswered and liberal voters actually defended the lack of transparency. Did we learn nothing? Maybe the better question is do you want to pay to do it all over again? I don't and I say that as someone with no banned rifles and no dog in the fight. I simply want to stop spending vast sums on liberal SFIs.1 point

Lol. Not much time, usually. I have a fairly "big" job, so I disappear for weeks sometimes. But when I dip back in I have more patience for a minute, before I am forcibly reminded that it's futile. Why do pro-choice people hate babies? Why do people who support due process in immigration hate white people? Why do people who oppose Trump hate America? The level of discourse is comically stupid. Pointless. Exhausting. I guess I just wish it wasn't. 🤷♂️1 point

The article takes a glance at our current justice system and how many times Canadian criminals have serious contact with our police and justice system...I find these numbers a bit on the side of crazy town....But liberals will continue to say our justice system is working just fine....Well the numbers do not lie...1 point

Likeability is subjective and easily biased. Voting based on a person's "likeability" means you are prioritizing superficial traits, rather than how someone will govern. Platforms determine policy outcome, not likeability. Especially when your perception of a person's personality is so easily swayed by media framing. The "marketing" part of elections is all about manipulating a candidate's personality to be palatable to the biggest number of people. But when we vote, we're not choosing a dinner companion. We're choosing the policies that will govern our lives. That's why voting on a party's platform is far more reliable than voting on a person's likeability. If your entire voting strategy is based on "I like this person", you're not taking the responsibilities of citizenship seriously. elections are not popularity contests. A charming personality doesn't fix infrastructure or balance budgets or determine tax policy. It sounds like you treat elections like reality TV.1 point

Agreed, it can be a rough online world out there, but everyone draws their lines in the sand somewhere and I decided after that week ban that that was my line. Agreed. Sending someone a PM shouldn't essentially classify any information you put in it. It just leads to people abusing this type of rule, to the point that they'll say things in PMs that they wouldn't say otherwise, knowing that if you ever reveal what was said, you can get in trouble.1 point

Right. You posted "the deal" that "Westinghouse did", cited from an AI chatbot and noticeably absent of any specifics, details or actual evidence. Again, here's what we're looking for: "So - canada greenlights a loan package that will allow ukraine to sign a deal with westinghouse (brookfield owned) for 4.5 billion dollars" You've shown nothing to confirm the above. You do understand that AI tools are notoriously bad at distinguishing facts from social media commentary and opinions, right? Not only that, but they often hallucinate and make shit up out of thin air (like you!).1 point

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/multiple-angles-show-minnesota-ice-shooting/vi-AA1TMF4g That video clip confirms that. It also shows him walking up to the passenger's side and then she started backing up and he tries to move to the driver's side when the car points at him. She began accelerating at him and that is when he shot. He was also videoing the woman that was harassing him. Maybe they do that to identify these agitators later?1 point

The Democrat rhetoric is going to lead to more violence. Now, this loŝer can't hold a gun and he is shooting from 9 feet (see the sign painted above him). Most indoor gun ranges won't allow a long gun. So I don't know what this guy thinks he is doing, but he clearly is not competent. That said, he is dangerously radical and should be arrested. So should the Mayor and Governor of Minnesota for encouraging this behavior.1 point

No. By all accounts this woman was not an activist or even terribly political. Probably leaned left but all family and friends say she's never had any interest in activism. Her wife on the other hand is a bit more activist and apparently according to her wife the wife talked her into going down there and causing trouble that day. I think what happened is that she got into a situation and then suddenly realize she might be in real trouble and decided to try and flee the scene when they were going to arrest her and foolishly when she decided to leave drove right at a police officer that was standing in front of her vehicle. I doubt very much that she meant to kill him. But from the officers perspective you've got a person not listening to instructions and then backing up and flooring the car right in your direction without any regard for your safety and actually hitting you. And that officer recently was struck by another vehicle doing exactly the same thing and was dragged for dozens of feet and required stitches and hospitalization. So he knows exactly what kind of threat a car coming at him like that is. So of course he shot her. He has no idea what her intention is and she's driving right at him. This is just a sad story, the woman probably got into a situation she wasn't able to handle, got emotional, decided she was going to flee the scene and in a moment to panic drove right at a cop possibly without even realizing he was there but the cop had no choice as she hit him with her car but to defend himself1 point

That kind of hubris always rears its head every few years with some whacky world leader. They never learn from history though. No country of any significance has managed to impose their will on their own nation, let alone nations they choose to invade for long and not without making them poor. China has never been as wealthy as when they opened up to the rest of the world. And if they decide imperialism is the way to go, then the world stops buying their stuff and they become poor again. Russia had a good run for 4 decades with their populace behind the iron curtain facing bread lines. Their economy is retracting as the west stops buying their stuff and their mighty military can’t even take but a small portion of Ukraine. Cooperation and trade has made the USA the richest country ever. War and strife will end that. Jingoistic fools cheer this behaviour on.1 point

Nobody ran over a cop--nor tried to--and shooting a fleeing "suspect" is not self defense. Jeebus, we can all see the video. Like Noem and co, you don't have any hesitation or shame about lying, and aren't really concerned with credibility.1 point
-
Indeed, no winners. I appreciate the fairness you've applied. As you point out, the video of the incident is WILDLY different than the story the government is telling. Anyone who heard that description first and then tried to find the video would have wondered if they are even looking at the right footage. Night and day difference. This is concerning for two reasons. The first is that that, though spin is a part of politics, we should all be alarmed when the government outright lies about events, particularly when they involved the killing of a citizen. The second reason is that it's clear that they have no concern about maintaining credibility. It's a non-issue for them. They know the video is available. They know we can all see what they are trying to do. They just don't care. The calculus is that facts simply don't matter anymore, in a very 1984 way. And, sadly, most of this thread bears that out.1 point

Poor effort. "The left" doesn't "hate Israel," because that doesn't mean anything. But a big chunk of them strenuously disagree with and denounce the policies and actions of the current administration--both long term relationship with the Palestinians and more acutely, the slaughter of tens of thousands of innocents. And on the other, that's not a value. And also a very small circle relative to the violence from the right. Again, you can try to identify some aligned values, but you won't have much luck. The two groups simply don't believe in the same things.1 point

Honestly, separate your comments using proper punctuation and more paragraphs. It's really hard to read what you write. 1, 2 and 3 are all in the same paragraph, yet I'm having a hard time understanding how they are all so closely related. 3) is a run-on sentence that starts with you leaving Owen sound and then talks about your health in Mississauga, a conservative councillor, and an eviction. It's easily two or three paragraphs worth of content, not one convoluted sentence, but some of it isn't even necessary for your story. The councillor story is more likely for a separate thread. 1) They probably post here. 2) Yup. They definitely post here, or at the very least they go to same cult meetings that CrakHoBarbie and Ex-Flyer go to. But that sentence is another book lol. Break that shit down next time - it is so hard to read. 3) WTF is going on with that sentence? Breathe into a paper bag for a few seconds and then take another run at it. Honestly, I'm trying to help you out here bro. I know exactly what you're going through, being surrounded by a bunch of braindead cultists who bark propaganda like cracked-up seals with red peppers stuck in their arses, but you gotta let some shit slide, David. Just remember: you are dealing with cultists, and 99% of what you say is just gonna bounce off of their iron dome of confirmation bias, so there's no point in getting emotional about it. At some point, for your own sake, you gotta rise above their shallow virtue signalling and laugh or they'll drag you down into their sewer. But, regarding 1), my guess is that you said something that embarrassed your family in front of one of their cult-leaders. Did you talk to an MLA or MP that day? A mayor? Someone's new man-bun boyfriend or blue-hair GF? So many run-on sentences, David. I know you're emotional, but try to use sentences and punctuation. You can charge them with assault. That's your right, and you definitely should. Ask to see the police report and listen to the 911 call. She has no right. Send the cops to get it. Your mom is probably CrakHoBarbie. Go to the Repolitics forum on her computer. I laugh when I think about these left4rds getting offended at comparisons between themselves and Nazi supporters. I can 100% guarantee that anyone who went along with the vax-fascism narrative would have helped load Jews onto cattle cars. And guess what... All the terrorist supporters (Jew-haters) are leftists/socialists again in 2026. They don't have anything on video - LW'ers don't record anything because they don't want the truth on film. And if they did film anything you'd already know about it.1 point
