It's part of the deal. He fluffs foreign leaders up so that they can look good while they sign bad deals. At the end of the day, Trump's happy, Americans are happy, Carney's happy, and the MSM is happy because they get to brag him up, and only Canadian peons like us get screwed. It's a win/win as far as everyone but the Canadian public is concerned.2 points

Was the prosecuter in Charlotte NC qualified? Because that person let a dangerous criminal with mental problems out of jail almost 20 times. Then he killed a women just because she was white. So maybe qualified needs to be redefined.2 points

Canada's deficit to surge to $100 billion, National Bank's Marion says | Financial Post One of Canada’s major lenders says Prime Minister Mark Carney will push the country’s deficit to about three per cent of its gross domestic product as his government pursues major projects and tries to attract more investment. Stefane Marion, National Bank of Canada’s chief economist, said he expects Ottawa’s fiscal shortfall will reach $100 billion this fiscal year, more than double the $42 billion the government forecast in December. Told you guys, some people hear snickered when I said I bet it's going to be upwards of a hundred, But looks like we're going there. That's about 3% of our GDP. We simply cannot afford it. We cannot take that kind of a pounding. Carney is claiming he's going to try and invest in our future but that's what we heard from Trudeau every single year to explain his deficits. And we never got any return from that. At this rate Canada is going to be broken for generations. It took 20 years to climb out from the mess the first Trudeau dug. This may be more like 40 or 501 point

Why do BC'ers hate Alberta so much.... It appears Premier Eby is digging his heals in on pipelines....There is no project, as there is no private funding....He makes it sound likes it is "his" funding and he will decide what projects will get advanced and what will not...And he is sabotaging other provinces projects in order to get more project money spent in BC....and yet he is only a premier...Not the PM....He also states that he will not accept any new pipelines because of the tanker ban...Not sure if the tanker ban is federal or provincial and can not find a source It sounds like Eby is not a team player, but is only thinking about what is best for BC and not the nation....I think Moe says it best....it is not BC coast, but Canada's coast.... See they want dictator democracy, where they always win by 90% hell they telegraphed their wishes. They want to get rid of any kind of voting security, use vote harvesting in all states and get rid of the electoral college, next time they have control of all three branches again they will kill the filibuster pass all kinds of "voter rights laws" that soley benefit them and stack the Supreme Court so they get their way on everything and turn the US into California so they never lose power again.1 point

The anti-immigration set are the ones that are trying to save Canada from becoming a 3rd world multicultural hell hole which apparently socialists like you appear to want Canada to become. You know dam well that Canada has a big massive immigration problem, but yet, you refuse to admit it. So, where or how is all of this massive 3rd world immigration invasion making Canada and Canadians rich and healthy? From what i have been listening to so far from so many anti-immigration groups and ordinary people is that this massive immigration is what is destroying our Canadian culture and ways of life and they are taking jobs away from Canadians. Lieberalism and socialism have been destroying Canada for decades now. Just my opinion.1 point

The democrats threw that out the window. The democrats are taking a lot of things you're not supposed to do and made them common practice now. And while that was happening myself and many others screamed to the High Heavens for the democrats not to do it for the last reason that once that door was open it could not be closed and others would walk through it and they would not be happy. Suggesting at this point that trump should put the genie back in the bottle is absolutely ridiculous. So what you should really be talking about is how the democrats can resolve the problem when they get back into power instead of making it worse. They started it and they can finish it.1 point

And TBH, being seen as a bozo has its advantages. Being underestimated can work in one's favour in a lot of ways. If you thought that your adversary was brilliant then you'd go to great lengths to ensure that you weren't getting fleeced, but if a bozo wants to make a deal with you, it's easy to assume that you're just winning with no requirement of maximal effort. Even better for his counterparts, the media and people in their countries, who think the same way about trump, will also assume that they're winning without paying too close attention. It was hilarious to see NATO leaders, one after the other, step to the podium and say that they were increasing military spending to 5% of the GDP "'coz they din't twust Twumpy, nyah" 😂. At the end of the day, he got them all to do his bidding, and they all got to look like they were sticking their thumb in his eye. Trump lets them have the victory lap at his expense - and he scored a major win for America. Thats the trade-off. Pretty good if you ask me. Maybe not 3D chess but it still gets added to the list of victories, and that's what he came for.1 point
-
It's funny, too, because he will praise a leader graciously while also slamming every policy they believe in. Trump is really good at this. People who don't like him only see a bozo... and he can be. I don't think he is a genius playing 5 day chess or anything, but the guy has some incredible strengths and people who see him as an enemy refuse to give him any credit for it.1 point

I am absolutely constantly flabbergasted at their ability to lie to themselves to the point where they reverse their thinking in 2 seconds. During the election they were all insisting that if carney got in he'd be able to handle trump and force him to give us a good deal whereas Poilievre would simply cave and give trump everything he wanted. Now that carney is giving trump everything he wanted they're screaming about how this is the only sensible strategy and how we're stupid for suggesting otherwise. If harper appointed business buddies of his to fake cabinet positions for 3/4 of a million a year they would lose their minds but Carney does it and its "of COURSE, why would you ever think he should do OTHERWISE?1 point

Your calendar is wrong. He's been working with closely and advising the liberals since 2020. In addition the ministers and stuff that he relies on or largely there for all of that time as well. You can't just put on a different jacket and pretend you just showed up. Where I see lots of connections between corporations, lobbyists, and electors is in the Liberal Party of Canada. Does that mean they're fake populists? As for deregulation, more and more economists are coming to agree that Canada actually NEEDS massive deregulation. Trump is already massively unpopular. But that doesn't mean the stuff he spouts will be because he didn't come up with any of it. Trump merely seized on what was already massively unpopular by the people but completely ignored by the elites, like uncontrolled immigration. Which is what we have in Canada today, pushed by the elites, pushed by the politicians with lots of connections with corporations and lobbyists...1 point

You know, when most people say "smaller government" they don't mean consolidating power to a lone dictator. Executive Power? Who needs Congress when you’ve got a Sharpie and executive orders? Nothing says “small government” like using the DOJ to settle personal grudges. States’ Rights? Federalism is great—unless Portland hurts my feelings. Independent agencies are for losers and suckers. Federal money into the president's pockets? Turns out the Hatch Act is just a suggestion, not a rule. Meritocracy? Nah, personal loyalty oaths, please. Appointing unqualified cronies totally shrinks the government, right?Peaceful (and dignified) transfer of power is such a quaint notion. If you don't win an election, "smaller government" means lying, cheating or rioting your way back into office. Inserting oneself--and dictating the presidential PoV--into arts, education and culture like Chairman farking Mao? Aggressively picking winners and losers in the markets based on political alignment? Actively meddling in science research to force alignment to a presidential PoV. In no way, shape or form is Trump fighting for a classical Republican interpretation of "small government." The truth is that MAGA has watched for decades as actual conservatism continued to lose in the marketplace of ideas. And since classical conservatism can't win the arguments, MAGA was born to force compliance through centralized government power. It is in every way the opposite of a free society and of small government.1 point

Trump's slavishly obedient real estate attorney, like so many of his appointees, is objectively--and abjectly--unqualified for the job, yet he's entrusted the business of justice for the American people to her. The top prosecutor in the district has never prosecuted a case. And now, with two embarrassingly thin indictments filed, the odds are good she still won't prosecute a case. Both of these cases are likely to be thrown out before trial. That's why Trump's first appointee wouldn't charge either of them. He had to find someone with less expertise and less charcter--someone more like him. What an utter embarrassment to this nation.1 point

...the term was not coined by proponents of supply-side economics but rather by critics to describe and disparage it. Origin of the Phrase Will Rogers (1932): In a 1932 column, Will Rogers used the phrase to describe how Hoover's policies, which favored the wealthy, would not help the struggling masses. He wrote, "The money was all appropriated for the top in the hopes that it would trickle down to the needy". Leftists use it for the very same reason today, to describe and disparage how government policies still favour the wealthy. Nothing's changed or has it? Were right-wing conservatives the adoring lickspittles towards the wealthy in Hoover's day the way they are towards their betters today?1 point

I've never said that Canadian's shouldn't be angry about some things. What I have said is that's all people like you have....be angry every day and b1tch about the same things. What the open door immigration set always seems to miss is that bringing in every drug dealer or other criminal types has a trickle down effect we seek to avoid. If you dig into what has happened to truck transportation, drug flows and sales, car theft, fraud, etc. you will note that a significant component is recent immigrants from cultures where crime, privilege and deceit are part of everyday life. No wonder they all find so much welcome in Ottawa!1 point

You are clearly trying to justify his murder by creating a narrative that his debate tactics were invalid. As for the video, I'm not buying what the tranny is saying. He is taking elements of the speech and redefining them with the clear goal of distorting the argument. The argument was that a typical passenger will question whether a pilot is qualified because of their minority status. They would do that because the airline expressly stated they would use minority status as a qualification rather than actual qualifications. The use of an example (like Harvard) solidifies that there are situations in which minority hiring replaced qualified hiring with disastrous consequences. Also, the tranny claimed hiring isn't a zero sum game, but it literally is. They don't hire an infinite number of employees. Hiring based on discriminatory practices is widely considered inappropriate. In addition, the tranny claimed Charlie made up a scenario. Since Charlie was speculating about whether the pilot was fully qualified and discussing what a hypothetical passenger might think, an example with extreme incompetence is not an unfair or inaccurate assumption. As for the claim that an instructor would lose his/her license for passing a poor pilot is 1000% false. First, instructors don't test pilots. The FAA and their designees check pilots. Designees don't have a "license"threy can lose. They have a Letter of Authorization to test on behalf of the FAA. Unless their actions are grotesquely inappropriate, the worst that can happen is that they will lose their LOA. As for their checkrides, they use a set of criteria that are published by the FAA, but are somewhat subjective. Meaning, some designees (aka check airmen) can be harder on their pilots and some can be far more foregiving. Further, every airline has their own training program and grading system with subjective standards. Their scenarios are created by the airline's training department, using FAA guidelines that score activities. Each scenario must reach a minimal level. However, the scenarios are well known by the pilots, so they can over perform by knowing what is coming. In short, the video is full of fallacies disguised as informed criticism. As someone that is intensely familiar with airline training and the varying levels of competence among pilots, I don't have major issue with what Charlie Kirk said. The true problem is not whether or not the pilots are qualified. The true problem, as highlighted by Kirk, is that the populous will view minorities through a hyper critical lense. DEI is a disservice to minorities that have earned their positions. They are good. They are qualified. Yet, people speculate because they don't know if DEI gave them an advantage.1 point

And again we come back to the same thing over and over. Worse if they don't mention climate change to appease those with memories so short they don't remember how thing right in front of their eyes have changed over decades and suggest instead that other 'nuances' are to blame. Like the weeks of -40s that were every year in both childhood and 200+ years of records are maybe now 1 day a year if that outside the seniors home. How there's heat domes instead of long hot summers with rainstorms in the afternoons. Regardless, WTF do you want to DO about cities burning other than blame something?1 point
