Our system was a lot more right-wing and unforgiving when I was a teenager than it is now. Nothing the usual fools say surprises me.... EV's don't fall into the anti-climate rhetoric that Trump taught them so they're compelled to talk them down. I think the PHEV is the way to go.... obviously distances depending but if the majority of your driving is city/short distances a tank of gas will last for a month or two and if you need to go a long distance then you have the combustable engine. We'll be looking in the next year or so to replace my wife's car and a straight EV may be the choice there with her driving virtually all city/local.
