Admittedly I knew very little to nothing about Charlie Kirk other than vaguely remembering his name and an impression of him being one of those "out there" idi0ts. The more I read the more I was correct about my impression of him being an idi0t... For those who are turning him into a martyr, save your typing because I don't at all believe he should have been killed because of his fùcked up beliefs. Hundreds of teachers have been fired, suspended in the last two days alone for their reactions to Kirk's death. A Toronto teacher repeatedly showed the gruesome killing to his 10 year old students, telling them he deserved it, and anyone else who espouses similar beliefs should be treated the same way. These are same people who supported Luigi and lionized him. Elias Rodriguez has a similar following from the Palestinian supporters for his murder of two Israeli embassy staffers. They had undercover agents in the crowd. They had CIs in the crowd. What role(s) did these people play? It was wrong to prosecute people that never entered the Capitol building. It was wrong to suggest that some broke in when they Capitol police escorted them around. It was a lie to say Pelosi did not turn down Trump's offer of NG troops. Or from people who didn't vote back into office the man who sicced the violent mob on the legislature--and then watched the spectacle on TV. Or if that man hadn't pardoned his violent mob and put them back on the streets. The idea that he (or anyone else) either deserves to be executed because of their opinion or that somehow the opinion itself makes the shooters motive "understandable" should be abhorrent to any rational person. Even in a politically charged environment (like this forum for instance) I would have expected the take away to be (near) universal condemnation. The absence of it now leads me to wonder what comes next... is it a sense of horror across the board and the resolve to do better, or does it serve as a catalyst for future reprisals in equal and opposite manner? The former takes courage, conviction and effort, the latter appeals to base human instinct and is relatively easy to conjure with minimal effort (memes, slogans, inflamed them vs us rhetoric etc). Political and religious violence has a self sustaining aspect to it, once ignited the flame continues to burn as long as fuel is present.... I can't help but wonder if this event will be seen (in hind sight) as a source of ignition or a turning point. All IMO of course... guess we'll see.1 point

No, it is not just their problem. Listen, it is one thing to oppose specific mandates because you don't want them, but that doesn't negate the fact that disease affects everyone. Depending on the type of disease, some people, including newborns, pregnant mothers, and others, can't get some kind of instant immunity even if they do vaccinate on schedule. Whooping cough is a good example as children under 6 months old have not achieved vaccine immunity yet and are still vulnerable. It is not as simple as saying those who don't vaccinate only harm themselves and others who choose not to vaccinate.1 point
