Kirk said (paraphrase) that school shooting deaths are the unfortunate cost of the rightful preservation of the 2nd amendment. He didn't deserve to get murdered and this is terrible, but he's a victim of the society he advocates for. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

This is the biggest thing. This is a man who always always make sure that the other side had a chance to get their two bits in and to share their thoughts and arguments. He was not some pontificator who stood on a podium and exposed only one viewpoint, he literally would not appear without giving the other side more of a chance to speak than his own side. This is a direct assault on freedom of speech and the right to hold opposing views and is most pure form. This man was all about debate and discourse and they shot him.

I don't speak for Greg, But: 1) This forum isn't a platform to advocate for murder, MH, which Boges clearly did in his post. 2) Regarding Black Dog, people are expected to post a certain amount of reasonable content and even some context to go along with whatever insults they feel are appropriate. If you go back and read BD's posts, you'll find that 95% of his posts here were just insults, and devoid of on-topic commentary. I think Trump is essentially risking the world economy for hypothetical future gains that may not materialize due to automation and higher production costs in costlier jurisdictions in the US. Protectionism ultimately slows productivity and progress because it props up uncompetitive industries Soviet style. Companies can’t take advantage of the most efficient and affordable inputs. The hope is that better products with value adds will make it worthwhile to produce in costlier countries, but tariffs can make it totally unaffordable buy those better products, so they may never get produced. If countries are sheltered from access to the best and most affordable products, they lose the ability to compete because they don’t have to and the population ends up with second rate stuff. It’s how the Soviet Union collapsed.
