OMG how juvenile. Thanks for confirming I BURIED YOU in facts and you couldn’t muster an intelligent response. Typical dropout behaviour2 points

I challenge you to look back at any post I've made in this forum and cite one instance where I've 'excused' or supported the last 10 years of Trudeau's government. Try to remember that I live in the same country and understand yours and others constant rehashing of the same challenges we all live in. I know them very well. Trudeau's gone though so maybe time to get over it...? It's interesting, and expected I suppose that conservatives in this forum think that anyone who supports Carney naturally has to be a life long liberal supporter. My vote like a lot of others had everything to do with the skillset and persona Carney brings, and the skillset and persona Poilievre lacks.1 point

I admire your ability to excuse and tolerate terrible liberal governments. I remember those times, when the Canadian dollar was on par with the American dollar. Canadian GDP per capita was on par with America's. When energy was less expensive, food was less expensive, immigration policy was responsible, and housing was half the cost. How far we have fallen.1 point

How do you think Poilievre would have negotiated zero tariffs for Canada?1 point

Transgenders are still lightweights compared to allakabomers. The trans are only doubling their expected rate of killings. Allakaboomers make up less than 2% of the population and are responsible for at least 50% of what we'd call "terrorist attacks" (the layman's definition is a mass-killing event for political/religious reasons, not just really obnoxious graffiti or the yelling of some profanities and slurs). OK, typical left4rd cultist. Thanks for whatever that was.1 point

With due respect.... call it what you want and justify it being CBC's fault if you'd like. Facts are facts...regardless of how they became facts.1 point
-
And I would argue that that is less a function of Pierre's persona or lack of charisma and more a function of media landscape in Canada. It was quite noticeable even back when he first became leader of the party and started showing his first signs of gaining popularity that the CBC went on the attack against him quite regularly. Something they rarely did with the actual Trudeau gov't that was in power in spite of many scandals.1 point

Because a big part of Carney's platform is to make Canada a leading energy superpower? Sure, educated urban 'lefties' are oblivious to Canada's natural resources.... Are you serious? Because Polievre said so.... Take your blue hat off for a minute and read where there will be an announcement in 2 weeks around port infrastructure. That's bad news or is the only thing conservatives care about is another oil pipeline from AB to the coast? Yes, you don't build ports in a couple weeks, it obviously takes time. I have no idea what's going to happen in 4 years but will assume that if port and other infrastructure projects are in full motion that will bode well for Carney. I'd suggest that you know very little of the VCE ETF that you apparently own. Think about it.... the better the assets within the ETF perform the better the fund performs. That's common sense and not that hard to understand is it....? Do you think the fund price rises or falls just 'because' or do you think there's a correlation between the assets performance and the funds performance? So what if Carney has significant equity holdings. That's financially astute and has been dealt with in a blind trust. I have no idea how much Poilievre has invested in VCE, nor do I care. You can't tell me though that he doesn't want those assets within the fund to perform well....because that makes the fund perform.1 point

And we can point out how insane it is every time they allow children to be slaughtered. There's a video of a 10-year-old from yesterday. He said they were well trained in what to do with an active shooter. But they had never done the drill in church. His friend lay on top of him and was shot. As a parent of 2, I'm thankful that my children never had to burden themselves with active shooter drills.1 point

Same as our oil. Alberta oil sells in the US for 60% of the price of all the other oil there.1 point

If this is a letter from the shooter, this confirms what I've been saying. Trans is a symptom of poor mental health and not the condition itself. He admits to being depressed, suicidal and self destructive. If we want to stop these tragedies, the goals must be destigmatizing mental health help and de-glorifying mental illness symptoms like body disphorphia. If I would have thrown this guy out of a women's restroom to protect my wife or daughter, I would have been labeled a Hitler. All the while, he was planning to kill people based on their faith. The left has turned right into wrong. Let's turn it back while working to solve the real problem.1 point

That's right, the amount of money we're paying in tariffs you said. So again, how does that work, we write them a check or just send bags of cash?1 point

If Democrats rose up and started shooting National Guard troops because Trump is using the military like a dictator, what do you think would happen? Allowing everyone the right to own firearms doesn't mean they can change anything a government does. All the 2nd amendment has done was make the US the only industrialized nation that has schools where someone shooting kids is a realistic possibility.1 point
-
It doesn't matter. If you restrict firearms enough these types of crimes simply don't happen, and when they do they're exceedingly rare. Having handguns available for protection do the opposite. It makes it more likely mentally ill people have guns and will use them. The Good guy with a gun theory is a fallacy. It's better not to allow people to have guns meant to kill people. BTW the 2nd amendment doesn't mean squat. You have a POTUS right now that's demanding his military to go into cities to seize control and ya'll aren't saying shit.1 point

You’re wrong. Trump first announced across the board tariffs specifically on Canada and used his fentanyl lies to justify them. He then “paused” the tariffs TWICE after Trudeau and later Carney struck back. Trump then walked those back to only be on non-USMCA compliant before implementing them. The “general overall” tariff you refer to is now only on the 15% of trade that is mot USMCA compliant. When Trump announced his country-specific “liberation day” tariffs against each nation, Canada was excluded I interesting that you don’t count any of these as Canadian wins or signs of Trump weaknesses This your own bias where you selectively perceive wins and losses that align with your personal preferences Secondly Trump’s “strategic sector” tariffs on steel, aluminum, lumber etc were applied against THE ENTIRE WORLD EQUALLY No country was exempted. Its very dishonest and disingenuous to suggest that somehow Carney is to blame or failed to stop them when literally every country on earth is in the same boat Of course Trump’s walk-backs are because of domestic pressure not foreign pressure, that’s been a plan the entire tome A corrupt isolationist like Trump doesn’t care what foreign countries have to say unless it’s to flatter or enrich him The destructive nature of Trump tariffs on his own citizens and possibly the impact of Canadian counter-tariffs on American industries are what caused the auto sector to lobby Trump He is dealing with Trump, we are not getting clobbered we are the least tariffed country in the world and if you poke your head outside of the conservative info bubble you’re ensconced in, most people actually do think Carney is doing well and he continues to have high approval ratings. Lol none of that is true you need to come into the real world and find out for yourself what is actively happening not just what your conservative propaganda outlets tell you to believe. Some FN groups did publicly condemn his plans for fast tracked development while others are on board but you can’t have it both ways claiming he’s doing nothing and that he’s running roughshod over FN. Both can’t be true at the same time. Internal trade barriers are not dead in the water, there are regular updates all the time. Canada just opposes its first LNG shipping facility in BC with much fanfare and Carney just signed a bunch of energy deals in Europe Enbridge’s US growth strategy was initiated last year before the trade war1 point

So you really do figure Trump sends Carney a bill and Carney writes Trump a check. LMAO!1 point

Again, you're a liar, and that's why you say things like that. Poilievre actually "has shares IN A FUND which lists Brookfield among its investments". Stop acting like he's got a small fortune directly invested in Brookfield you f'ing weasel.1 point

Another false statement. The smart tariffs that Canadians put on American goods those were targeted at specific products meant to have maximum impact on USA and minimum impact on Canadians. Tariffs o items that Canadians could easily substitute or do without such as Kentucky bourbon and Florida OJ. And it dis have am effect. So yes heroic and smart and minimal impact on prices. And at the end of the day Canada wants ZERO Tariffs, our tariffs are only retaliatory. By contrast Trump had dumb tariffs, applied across-the board to every import from every country regardless of whether Americans can substitute it or do without. Many the things he’s tariffing are things Americans and American industries need like potash, cobalt, coffee and bananas and so kn that USA can’t ever produce. So yes, they will increase prices and hurt more than they help. I’ll remind you that the steel tariffs under Trump 1.0 cost tens of thousands of American manufacturing jobs, exponentially more than they created in the steel industry because steel prices went through the roof and manufacturers couldn’t afford it.1 point

We're talking about AGW and instead of evidence you seem to think reasonable doubt can be based on things like your feelings about Trump or some compulsive need to slander people. Your doubts are unreasonable to the point of being ridiculous. As I've pointed out before, in your case in particular, you will happily fry the planet simply for the shits and giggles you get from the opportunity it gives you to stick it to libbies.1 point

Yeah fires start naturally, by lightning, etc... But people make the risk and likelihood MUCH worse! Concerns about woods travel during drought: People starting fires is only one concern. People getting stranded in woods by fire, requiring a lot of resources for extraction People starting fires while all fire-fighting resoiurces are already over-strained Fishermen in small boats on lakes preventing water bombers from reloading Complete id!ots with drones or fireworks (It happens) Keeping id!ots from going in "to watch' (It happens) Etc.... But God forbid you right wing Snowflakes should have one of your privileges temporarily restricted!1 point

Its all going to depend on the economy. The problem the Democrats are going to have is they won't have Trump to run against anymore. Their policies have become anything Trump is for they are against, even when the policies are super popular. What are they going to be able to hang their hat on when it comes to the next 4 years. Even if they take the House, the Senate will probably be out of reach and all they will do is investigate and impeach Trump for 2 years and not actually accomplish anything. Being the Anti Trump party isn't going to work very well when there is no Trump running. What is funny is that it is the Democrats fault Trump is President. If they didn't go after him legally he wouldn't of even been the nominee. Just the nakedly partisan lawfare they performed just made him more popular and when someone tried to assassinate him the election was over. Lets not even talk about insisting on nominating a vegetable and then installing the most unpopular Vice President as the nominee who couldnt put together a coherent sentence.1 point
