Those are all still pretty accurate and honest. If the CBC was actually the same for the conservatives as they are now for the liberals the headlines would be more like: Carney compared to stalin by experts as he tries to explain his dishonesty about his company's move to Trump's America Carney calls bounty hunter mp's comments "teachable" Carney's secret ties to Chinese group bent on taking over Canada exposed! The one thing Western Conservatives have in common, is the reluctance to take responsibility for their decisions. When will they realize, that the vote is, as it is, because their pick for leaders, has been dismal. The electorate from Ontario and Quebec, is not the reason the Conservatives are failing, to form a Government, it's the policies of the Conservatives. Some how the majority of those in the west, think everyone else in the country is stupid if they don't vote as the west does. Ontario and Quebec have voted differently in many elections, You can not say that for the brainwashed in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Without representation it means, you have little or no say in what goes on, that is realism in action. Before you go yakking off, I live in Saskatchewan. I have voted for different parties in previous elections. I don't have blinders on. Make a decision for yourself, rather than being part a western herd mentality. That this needs to be explained is sad in it's self.2 points

A random or inspired coincidence, I came across a post in one of the soc media feeds at to "what's really wrong with CPC campaign" and then, right here "The CPC is nothing at all like the Republican party". So I thought, true, it's wrong when and if politics is reduced to making an adversary, then enemy, and then, an existential opposite of the political opponent. Is someone inventing this antagonistic view? Is it fictional? All valid questions. For that reason I looked and tried to understand it. And here's the list, in my view and assessment entirely objective and factual why following my analysis of this reality, and facts in it I have to conclude that yes, indeed Canadian conservatives have stepped on the same path that Republican party was on some years or decades earlier, and if they fail to see it, and correct it now, it will lead them, all the way, to the same dismal and disgusting destination. Which is right here, before our eyes. Vicious personal attacks in all channels as opposed to civilized and respectful arguments. This is U.S. style politics and we can watch in real time where it leads. Repeated and persistent spreading of false pseudo-information, insinuations and claims targeting the individual as opposed to their policy. U.S. politics, worst of. Apparent refusal to condemn uncivilized and criminal campaign tactics as widespread interference with election signs and commit fully and unconditionally to the rules and practices of civilized democratic campaigning. Less than a clear, unconditional and unequivocal answer to the question about accepting the results of election. Closeness, tight control of the media access in this critical time when Canadians have the full right to learn as much as possible of their candidates. Shameful and shameless avoidance of candidate debates that appears to be the set policy of the said party. Failure and/or blatant refusal to heed concerns of Canadians in answering questions about the security clearance - even in these troubling times in the world. Some weird statements about women. Absence of clear priorities and strategy in the international politics and the economy. Confused, self-contradictory or deliberately misleading claims like doing more trade with the U.S. (how? in exchange for what?) to build up "sovereignty". Endorsement by most grotesque U.S. MAGA personalities including Musk, Jones, Shapiro, Tucker Carson and others. Can't say this is all, can be more on further thought. So yes, there are reasons and they are objective, real and factual.1 point

This article breaks down Canada's efforts on the climate crises...."one of the first of liberal parties talking points was even if Canada stop using fossil fuels all together it would NOT affect global emissions at all"....Which leaves the question of Why even have a policy that does nothing more than punish Canadians, knowing that the Liberal party went ahead and implemented that policy anyways.... one of the reasons why Canada's contribution would be useless...is 70 % of the globe does not have a carbon tax, despite Justins failed attempts to convince other nations to jump on board, he continued with punishing Canadians. Key words here are Justins remarks, unfairly penalized....and yet the liberal party continues to support Carbon taxes. Carbon taxes put our nation at a competitive disadvantage, with 70 percent of the global nations. To illustrate this point, take a look at B.C.’s experiment with carbon taxes, a model for Trudeau’s tax. B.C. imposed its carbon tax in 2008. The provincial government claimed it would reduce emissions by a third in 12 years. “By 2020 and for each subsequent calendar year, B.C. greenhouse gas emissions will be at least 33 per cent less than the level of those emissions in 2007,” reads the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets Act. As of 2022, the latest year that government data has been published, B.C.’s emissions are higher than they were before its carbon tax was imposed. The takeaway is clear: politicians promised the carbon tax would reduce emissions, but emissions went up. At the federal level, the government doesn’t even know how much the carbon tax is reducing emissions, if at all. Conservative MP Dan Mazier asked if the federal government measures “the annual amount of emissions that are directly reduced from federal carbon pricing.” Here’s the response from former environment minister Steven Guilbeault, on Jan. 29, 2024: “The government does not measure the annual amount of emissions that are directly reduced by federal carbon pricing.” One would think that a government that convinced Canadians that there is a Climate emergency, and we as a nation take this very seriously or risk our planet burning up....that our government would atleast bring in policy that would make a difference...But they knew all along that any policy they developed would be useless, and just punish Canadians....but they went ahead with it anyways.... Just a note here the US does not have a carbon tax and somehow they managed to reduce their emissions further than Canada did, with 10times the population... And although carbon taxes have been canceled for individuals, it is still applied to industry...with Carney already telling us he has no intentions on scrapping it but increasing it ....KNOWING it does not make a difference in climate change.... Liberals promised the carbon tax would reduce emissions, but emissions went up1 point

I am 69 years old. I first voted legally in a federal election in 1972 at the age of 17. You don't know what you don't know. Stop thinking you know everything, your last comment, proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, you don't. I have listened. I have voted for every major party in the past and the last straw for me with Conservatives was the debacle known as Brian Mulroney who I voted for twice. Every country in the world is having problems with homeless people. It is not a left or right problem. PP has nothing to address those concerns. He doesn't care if another 16000 people in BC die as a result of closing down, safe drug sites. They are the people who realize that they have a problem so PPs big plan is to make them fend for themselves. If you lack empathy you should not run for the job of PM of Canada. Again I ask you to tell us the best legislation the Conservatives have ever passed. If you can't, you have no credibility and people can see that by your senseless rhetoric..1 point

Some examples of what climate change action in Canada looks like: 1. "We must prevent Canadian tankers from shipping oil out through our pristine west-coast tidewaters." What does it look like in action? It looks like tankers travel through those waters from Alaska to Washington State constantly. It looks like tankers come into Canada through the "pristine east-coast tidewaters" every day. The fact is that our global energy competitors got those westcoast tidewaters closed off to Canadian oil, they're all wide-open to foreign oil. Bottom line: the LPOC worked for our global competitors and against our own energy sector. 2. "We can't burn coal here - it's bad for global warming" What does it look like in action? It looks like we're still mining all that coal, it just gets shipped all the way to the other side of the planet to get burned, theoretically reducing carbon emissions 😂 China wants our coal, the LPOC got it for them, and not only is every molecule of that carbon being released into the atmosphere, it's being burned in plants with lower environmental regulations. Bottom line: the LPOC worked for our global competitors and against our own energy sector. 3. "We need to use green energy, and develop it here." What does it look like in action? It looks like China makes the solar panels, the lithium batteries, they mine 90% of the lithium and rare-earth minerals to make the batteries, and when US manufacturers make electric cars, leftists smear them with feces and put the Dem/LPOC logos on them: Bottom line: the LPOC worked for our global competitors and against our own energy sector. Countries that benefit from every single one of our green energy BS policies in action: China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Russia, the US. Countries that don't implement any of our green energy BS policies in action: China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Russia. Countries whose economies are harmed by every single one of our green energy BS policies in action. Canada, no one else....1 point

Without reading another word I knew you realized you were wrong and your buthurt about it LOL Well there is what you say and then there is what you do. The two often conflict. Plus you're not all that interesting so I don't pay super close attention. But by your knowledge base and your ability to argue I would put you somewhere in the mid to late teens. By your claims you are older than that but frankly I don't think you're terribly trustworthy so it's hard to say You have done no such thing. And you and I both know it. Perhaps you think your grandstanding for others but you and I both know you're a liar We all know what you're saying is that you know I'm right and you're angry so rather than try and make an argument you're just simply going to break down into tears and make the most painfully awkward insults I think I've ever seen in my life This is what I mean when I say your level of knowledge and your behavior puts you in the mid ish teen age range. So to recap. I made logical statements that I then backed up with a large body of facts and evidence to prove my point. Lol it’s not playing politics to criticize the epic negligence and incompetence of the Trump administration. Lest I belabour the point the US economy and therefore the world economy has now been placed under one man rule and that man knows nothing about economics, enacting policies that directly contradict all widely accepted economic theories and is just making it up as ye goes day by day. You know there’s a difference between replacing established orthodoxy with a new upstart theory and what Trump is doing which is no coherent theory at all. And the pee-ons certainly deserve their piece of the pie but they’re trying to get it from someone who doesn’t know how to bake and doesn’t really care about them other than using them to take over the bakery Also as has been mentioned repeatedly, it was Republicans who took away the pee-on’s pie to begin with1 point

In normal times there’d be a call for an investigation into the potential for massive insider trading here but it’s not the main story. In the 1956 Suez Crisis, Eisenhower threatened to sell sterling bonds, forcing the British to abandon the canal. It was the end of Britain as a great power. Incredibly, Trump may have initiated a loss of trust in the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. He feels it’s overvalued and he may get his wish. What an agent of chaos and ruin he has always been. https://www.nbcnews.com/business/markets/bond-market-moves-raise-fears-growing-bets-america-rcna2009361 point

Personal attacks really started when Reform came to Ottawa. Not BY Reform, but against them, by sneering lib-left political parties like the PCs and Liberals as well as their liberal allies in the mass media. It's only gotten worse since then, led by the Liberals and their American advisors. One of the major tactics of the Liberal 'rat pack' during the Mulroney era was to call him a liar - generally without evidence, just to get headlines. Often they'd be thrown out of the House of Commons for it, which they reveled in because it would get it into the news "Mulroney called liar". It was basically Joseph Goebbels's tactic of repeating something so often people believed there must be fire under all that smoke. It's been pretty carefully brought to light that the Liberals not only refused to condemn Chinese government interference in our elections but have held the door wide for them, covering up the interference as much as possible and efusing to implement any of the recommendations to combat that interference because it's always benefiting them. Does the word 'Yes', not resonate with you? Where does Mark Carney pay his taxes? Where has he paid them the last twenty years? How much money doe she have? What is it invested in? What about those tax shelters in the Caribbean with his name on them at an address Obama called the worst tax scam in the world? Where is Carney today? Oh, right, he got angry that the media were asking questions about Chinese interference, stormed out and cancelled his future events to come back to Ottawa and hide from the media. Mark Carney refused to take part in the first French debate, saying it cost too much. I don't think Poilievre has addressed and explained this more than five or six dozen times, supported by Tom Mulcair and others. Imagine thinking women have a biological clock! The shame! And the strategy and priority of the Liberals is... uh... uhm... huhhhh... uhmm... aaaa... uhmmm.? So is bullshit. And that's what your whole post was. Bullshit.1 point

Well, if you're asking about why I ignore people, it's because they're not worth speaking with. Perspektiv was such a vein and egotistical poster... If you ever called him on his contradictions he would go into a long diatribe about some ex-wife or something. Other people only discuss to when when, like it's a zero-sum game. You can't learn anything or get them to concede any point. The idea that I would ignore someone because they're confrontational is strange. I don't know how we got away from talking about Poilievre. The McCarthy era style of discourse is something I particularly detest. I'd much rather have Doug Ford and his pork barrel bakery....1 point

If the polls this time around are as accurate as the last election they are pretty much saying the Cons have failed again to present a suitable leader. That is key. A leader who the people like. It has nothing to do with how much money they are saying they will give you. I live in the west and I am sick and tired of hearing the whining because they didn't elect a Con. If you want to be properly and fully represented in Parliament you have to vote differently from time to time as they do in the rest of Canada. Except as you describe it : Which is way more than 20% considering he’s barely been in office 2 months There are so many layers of negligence and incompetence here: Its not like he took a well- researched and widely supported policy but he just implemented it poorly Its not like he took a chance on an innovative, well researched but highly unconventional policy that made sense in theory but turned out to not work in practice It’s not like this failed policy was some inconsequential side project of his administration that had no real relevance to his administration or the economy 1) His economic theory was absolute gibberish made up in his own head and showed he lacks even a basic grasp of economic principles. And it was based on fake numbers that don’t even attempt to appear credible. The fact that his enablers in the White House and congress allowed him to implement this crazy scheme just shows how irresponsible US politics had become and it has destroyed what few shreds of credibility the increasingly dysfunctional United States had left 2) Not only is it absolutely insane that the entire global economy is being reordered based on the crazy idea of ONE MAN who knows nothing on the subject and is contradicting all accepted principles of economics, but on top of that this insanely terrible idea was implemented in an insanely terribly way with all the daily contradictory statements by White House officials and Trump contradicting himself as well as on-again-off-again tariffs and public infighting between officials It’s clearly just a chaotic madhouse over there nobody knows what’s going on or how anything works or even what their goal is Anyone who tried to do something similarly incoherent, irresponsible and incompetent at their work with majorly serious repercussions for their employer and business partners would be fired on the spot This is so shockingly negligent it’s practically grounds for impeachment So someone saying they disagree with his tariffs but still 80% like him is like saying they disagree with Hitler’s holocaust and wars but still 80% like him.1 point
