Depends on the details of the loss. If he ran a good campaign but he failed and can articulate the lessons he learned and convince people he can do better in the future then he'll probably be given another chance. That's basically what happened with harper. But if he blows it and it's because he didn't run a good campaign or he's arrogant about it the way that sheer or O'Toole were then he'll probably be gone.
