So...the election is fake too? It must really suck for you folks like you who know everything to see millions upon millions of people falling for engineered ignorance. Billions of people given how global the phenomenon is. Like a silent scream. Do you cry yourself to sleep at night?2 points

Unfortunately you're right. MSM filters everything to make PP look like the bad guy.2 points

It will "break" to Canadians on the CBC's terms, which means that: the lie is downplayed, to the point of being a mere accusation the story is used as an opportunity for the CBC to sing his praises about other things2 points

Look at yourself, herbie, just completely unable to engage in an adult conversation. FACT: Carney was caught moving jobs away from Canada, down into the US, then he just lied to Canadians about it instead of owning up. The CBC's way of covering this story is to just randomly give Carney all of the credit for Canada's strong performance during the 2008 recession when we had a conservative PM and a conservative finance minister. How's that a thing? When the CBC was busy screaming about Duffygate did they lead with "Harper successfully led Canada through the 2008 recession..."? Of course not. CBC framed the 2015 election as "a referendum on Duffygate", and completely ignored Harper's successful handling of our economy during a recession, but here we are ten years later and the CBC wants to cover a story about Carney's lies and Canada-last policies by pumping his tires about the 2008 recession, which was 17 years ago. This isn't a story about your feelings, herbie. It's a story about undisputed facts which you are apparently unwilling to acknowledge, as usual.2 points

This isn't like the Biden administration where flag burning homosexuals are calling the shots. Trump is in full control. In fact, This is the best presidency/cabinet in God knows how long.2 points

Trump's already banned AP for not calling the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America. He's like someone who freaks out when people can't get they/them/their pronoun right. Anyway go take it up with Karoline Leavitt if you don't believe me but from now on Trump's media scrums will be a safe space with a press pool of his choosing. Defying custom, Trump will pick his press pool. Here’s what to know. The White House’s move to take control of which outlets participate in the press pool is a break from a century of tradition with the White House Correspondents’ Association.2 points

I don't get your thread title. This is an example of X quickly correcting an error and free speech goes on. You must not have been around under the previous ownership when they didn't give a shit how many people cried or howled about their purposeful restrictions on speech.2 points

Let's talk about reality: Newsweek: The budget, which calls for $2 trillion in spending cuts in total, does not mention Medicaid specifically but it directs the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees Medicaid, to cut $880 billion in spending over the next decade. Newsweek: Ramaswamy wrote on X that $1 billion is "wasted *every month* on ineligible SNAP (food stamp) benefits" due to overpayments and fraudsters preying on beneficiaries. Smart Asset: Trump Tax Tables You'll notice that EVERYONE making more than $9200 got a tax break. -----------------‐-------------- What does this mean? It means everything the libs are saying, is a lie.2 points

There are people like Herbie who think that should happen and that the millions of immigrants that leftist activists like him wanted to come here should pay reparations to Indigenous for stuff that happened centuries ago. They don’t understand that it was the left who brought in Residential Schools to provide literacy and free education to natives. They refuse to see any good in their own project. They don’t make the basic connection between mass immigration and mass colonization. The whole debate is stupid and disappears once the activists realize that the “colonial” system they want to tear down is the one giving them all the freebies and benefits that sustain them. In fact, they’ve never had so much influence over government policy as under the current federal government. What if the whole Canadian federal system does go? What will this crowd do when there are no more politicians supporting redistribution schemes because the economy has fallen apart and a harsher, self-interested foreign regime with harder power takes their place? Canada has to get serious about defending itself economically, culturally, and militarily or these activists will be begging for a return of the “settler colonist” Canada they pretend to deplore.2 points

We see it all the time on here and else where. The left absolutely wants the executive branch to be controlled by unelected buerocrats. This CNN panel advocate for exactly that by putting out this wild conspiracy theory that Trump is shrinking the federal government to do some (unnamed) nefarious dead. It is the most satisfying thing to watch when these lwnjs start backpeddling and trying to pretend they never said that. CNN is, according to liberals, this Bastian of journalism. Yet, this wild ass conspiracy theory is being floated by their hosts. Unreal.1 point

but then why did he lie about it. Conservatives don't like liars. If he had stood up and said honestly we moved the company because the conditions in Canada just aren't that great for investment right now, then fair enough. conservatives would have understood that. But the problem is that would involve admitting that the government he is attempting to lead are the ones that made the conditions this bad in the first place. He's a lying scudball who does the opposite of what he says he believes in. This man does not care about Canada, he does not care about you, he will absolutely steal your money and ruin your country if he gets into power and he will sleep like a baby at night doing it. Wake up It is 100% proven. But of course you'd lie about it, you're liberal and that's a prerequisite1 point

Israeli settlers who show strong support for Netanyahu and Trumps ultimate goal are eyeing up Palestinian territory like never before. Like I said, it'll take a couple of generations for people to calm down and cool off.1 point

I live 250 yards from a methodist church. It has been in continuous operation since 1972. Interesting how there is an assault on religious freedom and yet the churchgoers have not changed their ways since I moved into the neighborhood in jan 2013. There are just as many who attend the church today as in Jan 2013.. It would seem as if the OP is a tad oversensitive.1 point

Inorder to enrich himself. All the while worsening a humanitarian crisis. As you said, this is another example of flooding the zone. There's no real scenario where he can effectively evict 2 million people without going Nazi. It gets people worked up and distracted from other things. Same with the 51st State crap, there's no real way he could annex Canada without a military operation. It's just a smoke screen. It all speaks to the truth that Trump is a very unserious person.1 point

The Trump administration has taken control of who has media access to the White House. You don't think that will have an influence on what is reported? In the words of Karoline Leavitt - and they have the nerve to frame it as though they are giving some type of power to the people! Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) had "long dictated" which journalists were in the so-called "pool," the small group of journalists given access to "intimate spaces." "Not anymore. I am proud to announce that we are going to give the power back to the people who read your papers, who watch your television shows and who listen to your radio stations," Leavitt said. "Moving forward, the White House press pool will be determined by the White House press team."1 point

I knew you had led a sheltered life. But I had no idea it was that sheltered. Maybe climb off mommy's lap and look out the window now and then. I personally don't question the contribution of natives to Canadian society. There has been none. Zero. As for wrongs at residential schools. Yeah. So? There were wrongs at a lot of schools. There were definitely wrongs at boarding schools, orphanages and juvenile detention facilities "Spare the rod and spoil the child" was a cultural constant. And sometimes they went too far. And sometimes they were sadistic Aholes. And sometimes there was sexual abuse - at all these places. And society ignored that completely. Here and everywhere else in the world. Does it hurt you to realize people weren't quite as sophisticated back then as they are today?1 point

Yeah he should have answered this better, but he was chairman of the company and had a duty to increase profits for them. Conservatives are supposed to like that, not cherry-pick for political purposes. And Legato's pic of PP isn't helping the cause. Parents would look at that pic and say" Stay away, kids".1 point

That poll was originally published a year ago! It's irrelevant. Published Date February 24, 2024 And it seems really shady. Of course people want efficiency. But that's not what is happening now. Here's a more recent (Feb. 19, 2025) poll for you - More Americans have an unfavourable view of Musk (and Zuckerberg) than a favourable view Just over half of U.S. adults (54%) say they have an unfavorable view of Musk, including 36% who have a very unfavorable opinion of him. Two-thirds of Americans have an unfavorable view of Zuckerberg. This includes 26% who are very unfavorable toward him. Here's another poll: When asked whether respondents approved or disapproved of the job that Musk is doing within the federal government, a net 34 percent approve compared to 49 that disapprove. The poll, carried out on February 13 – 18, found that 52 percent disapprove of Musk shutting down federal programs that he deems unnecessary, compared to 26 who approve. What lie?1 point

I hear ya! That's the way it maybe should have been done to begin with. But if you look at any map of the U.S. and Canada that shows all the oil/gas pipelines and electrical transmission networks you would see right away how tied to the hip we really are with the U.S. First impressions would be it looks like a giant spiderweb. I don't know if there's any way of getting around that. I'd be happy with not being forced to sell western crude to U.S. refiners at a discount and having eastern Canada buy it back at a premium. Refine it in Canada, keep it in Canada, and sell any surplus at standard prices. And if there's no business case for it then let the government get involved.1 point

It's what lefty's are not talking about that's sinking the Conservatives....space lasers....COVID authoritarianism... climate change is fake news... Ukraine started it... It's PP's base of support that's dragging him down. Instead of having to squelch out just one Randy White Conservatives have millions to contend with. The Big Tent is a Freaker's Ball that's spilled out into the street and Trump is a magnifying glass and spotlight bringing it into sharp focus. A vote for the right wing is a vote for Crazyville and in the face of that Canada's natural governing ideology is asserting itself.1 point

The natives have been paid for the churches and government discretion. "Canada has paid billions of dollars to Indigenous communities as part of a settlement with some 90,000 survivors of the residential schools. Canada's Catholic Church says its dioceses and religious orders have already paid $50 million to the tribes and expects another $30 million in coming years" "The Catholic Church agreed to pay C$79 million to an Aboriginal healing foundation, to survivors" If handled properly by the natives, all survivors should be millionaires. So, cry me a river herbie.....the money has been flowing. If poor management by the natives keeps it from getting to them, sounds like an internal problem to me LOL. Time to make the natives show what they did with all the money. Spend $200 million on audits of the natives LOL1 point
-
look herbie, the indigenous made accusations and claims and 3 years of investigation and over $200 million disproved that. I do not want to stand before anyone but....The most murders (?) and missing women were on reservations or communities or nations....who would be to blame?? Oh yeah, the residents...that were primarily indigenous. That part of the investigation has been redacted. Yes, the church admitted they buried some but, all churches did that back then and today. That is part of their duty. Yes, simple logic does say something happened but before you accuse, have proof and the years of investigation and money spent nothing has been proven leaves you with bitterness and unwillingness to accept the results. Back at ya...."So outright denial is a pretty shitty response."1 point
-
WTF are you on about now??? This finding baby bodies crap was before the liberals came in. The libs just finally caved in and gave the money for the search. The natives whined and whined till they got the money and now are not happy with the results. Same as the missing women investigation, millions and millions of dollars spent and were not allowed to divulge that their own men were killing their own women. This is not a liberal problem, it is all governments and and a pure indigenous problem.1 point
