  2. This is the thing. After the trump Trade war started to happen justin Trudeau radically changed his tune. His priorities changed everything changed suddenly he loves Canada. Poilievre delivers his speech and it's exactly the same as the last 100 speeches he's given. Slight emphasis on patriotism but almost indistinguishable from what he has been saying all along. At least Trudeau was able to keep his story straight from one crisis to the next where it would change again, Carney can't even keep his story straight from one interview to the next. The liberals are nothing but opportunists. They have no interest in Canada they only have interest in power and lining their pockets.

  3. Musk is demolishing all the safeguards and oversights from food to finance and the Cult still thinks a group of billionaires are working in the average joe"s interests. It does take a spectacular level of stupidity. What did they find? You blindly accept Musk's claims with nothing to back them up.

  4. Following the financial crisis of 2008, the responsibility for enforcing that financial companies obey consumer-protection laws, previously split between six regulatory agencies, was concentrated in one agency, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (C.F.P.B), which brought consumer protection—regulation, supervision, and enforcement—under one roof. Created to defend the interests of mortgage holders, savings depositors, credit-card holders, and anybody else who was obliged to deal with banks and other financial companies, the CFPB has been shuttered by Trump and Musk. A week ago, Elon Musk tweeted, “CFPB RIP.” Why would Musk want to fire the financial cop on the beat? The cop that has found more than twenty-one billion dollars in fraud and scams, and scooped up that money and returned it directly to the people who were cheated. Musk claimed that slashing spending and downsizing the federal government is necessary to prevent the United States from going bankrupt. But the CFPB budget is only about 0.01% of federal spending. Oh, there is this: Closing the CFPB will hurt the very people Trump promised to safeguard, but it will sure help Musk.

  8. Your words...."As I've been saying for years get your silly countries off my planet." Replace "our" with "my" is what you mean. My way or the highway, that is what it sounds like. It's not your planet.

  13. The m0ronic crowd came up with another bizarre revelation today: "JD Vance warns US will only be friends with countries that share Donald Trump's values". Please note: not the American (former) constitution; not the values of liberty, democracy and the rule of law. That seems to be in the past, in that crowd's minds. One can interpret it as either: "Donald Trump" who defines the country's values now is here to stay for a long, long time, confirming the end of the constitutional period. Or else, America's friend list will change with each new administration (the end of credibility and sanity). And so, as of now and right here America is on the threshold of letting go of her sanity, credibility in the sane world and democracy. Tell me please how would it be an exaggeration?

  14. You nailed it. They raised several generations of Americans who were fed jingoistic slogans instead of taught world history. And now you get comments like this. Does anyone realize that when these large international organizations were set up, the USA went out of their way to make sure they were at the middle of all of it? And now they're voluntarily going to give that up?

  18. All IMO but: I think we are on the verge of arriving at a point (I call it Crazy Island) where multiple independent deficiencies coalesce into a perfect storm such that regeneration becomes problematic... it's a critical mass thing. I'm no longer convinced that we can even spend 2% or man what we buy with it. As a for instance, manning the P8 and new UAV/UAS is going to be challenging... and we should have had those things squared off YEARS ago. Our recruiting/training deficit now stands at a 16,500 shortfall with a maximum training capacity of 6000 (or so) per year, that keeps us slightly above attrition and retirements. Increasing training at this point impacts operational tempo and will likely cause more attrition as you burn out the limited operational capacity that still exists. This could be a book or a 50 page thread but all of it qualifies as a slow motion train wreck years in the making with no end of warnings along the track that said "danger ahead." Even with unlimited resources, out training, out manning and out equipping the existing deficits will take years of consistent effort and a level of public support that has previously proved elusive. The debate over having an SSN capability intrigues me to no end... it's like listening to doctors debate whether or not I should eat eggs. The chickens who lay the eggs are now urgently knocking on the hen house door and we can't seem to decide on what colour to paint the roosts. Actually, you don't want to paint them at all but arguing about paint palates with Herb Doggiedoo and Roboduh is polarizing and there are votes to be had by whipping that collection of fools into a frenzy. The question "WTF did you think was going to happen?" isn't sarcastic, facetious, or even humorous IMO, there was no other possible outcome and the idea that rapid regeneration would be of such concern to Trump that a US invasion becomes likely as a result of it is laughable. Arguably, it's the domain of people who played a starring role in creating the problem in the first place.

  26. Musk provides thousands of jobs, has made many people millionaires, and has increased the flow of wealth while at the same time promoting environmentally friendly products and spreading access to the internet along with education and access to information that goes with it. What exactly did you think people needed protection from?

  27. No, that is not right, you ldiot. Musk is exposing fraud, waste and abuse, and that's it. The democrats have one purpose, and one purpose ONLY, and that is to f*ck American citizens and that's it. Now, calm down, take your TDS pills, and answer the f*cking question: are you in it just for the DEI?

  30. What kind of stupid question is that? It's about a department that is there to protect you from the likes of Musk. No wonder he is getting rid of it. He is also decimating the department that looks after vehicle safety. By the time he is finished you will have no protection at all from predatory billionaires. Cable news has sure rotted your brain. Maybe you should take a break from it as well.

  32. There was a famous quote that went something like "peace is a theoretical state who's existence we hypothesize because there are occasionally breaks between wars. Sadly when it comes to humans conflict is inevitable and if this one is resolved before long a new one will pop up. But this has gone on long enough. at the same time peace can't come "at any price". Ukraine is going to have to give, there's no doubt. They were not strong enough to stop the russians and that's just the way it is. They're very lucky they didn't lose everything. But they'll need to have real protectons in place for sure to guarantee they don't lose any more in 10 years when russia thinks they see another moment of weakness in the allied leadership. If they won't bend on that there won't be peace. And russia needs peace. If if they don't lose this war they sure as hell didn't win it. Their economy is in tatters, their manpower is badly depleated, their people are suffering and their gold reserves are spent. Even if sactions and such are lifted tomorrow they're in bad shape and will be for a while.

  33. It absolutely is. Inclusiveness is another buzz word for woke. It's all the things we're sick of here. More culture war, more spending our energy and focus on bathroom use, more forcing parents to let their kids participate in month long gay pride events while their own cultural religious events are excluded, more seperating and dividing people instead of bringing them together, more banning students for the crime of saying "i think there's only two genders", more hate more bigotry more denying that parents have rights to know what's happening with their children. That's ALL covered under 'inclusiveness" and after 10 years people are 100 percent sick of it. In fact it would be one of the better talking points for PP, "Do you want a gov't that's focused on prosecuting people for pronoun use? Or do you want a gov't who's focused on rebuilding the economy and dealing with trump? People right now are like "Screw the gays, screw the trans, screw the DEI's, i want to be able to afford rent and food". Simple as that. When times are great like when harper turned over the country in 2015 with balanced budgets and strong growth etc people can afford to ignore that. But right now? People aren't interested in things that benefit a tiny portion of the population, they want to be safe themselves.

  35. There is some truth to that article, but at the end of the day, it's still just western-POV propaganda, riddled with intentional inaccuracies and disinformation. 1) Yes, Putin is the ruler of Russia right now, but the communist party there still has power and he could still be taken out if he wasn't doing what they want him to do. It's old-skool. So to say that he's a dictator isn't truly accurate, because most dictators don't live with a gun to the back of their head. If Putin goes the way of Rasputin, the guy who takes his place will be a carbon copy, propped up by the party. Yes, people in Russia live with less freedom than we do, no one would deny that. 2) To say that Russia is fighting for conquest in only a half-truth, which means that it's 50% a lie, which imo qualifies as a lie. They're misleading you into thinking that Russia's goal is to eliminate the Ukrainian gov't, when they really just want conquest of the ethnic Russian area, IE the Donbas. You will never admit to this, but those people were being discriminated against and brutalized by the Ukrainian gov't and Ukrainian militias to the point where they did want the protection of the Russian gov't. Part of that was due to 'Bay of Pigs'-style interference from the Russian gov't, but a lot of it was genuine desire to depart from America's chosen path for Ukraine. 3) Their #3 is a total lie. Russia isn't after Kiev, they've always been invested in the "liberation" (frying pan -> fire) of Donbas. 5) You gotta admit that it's odd to hear an American say that "free and fair elections in Russia ended in 1999" 🤣. It's also odd to hear them act like Russia had an independent media before 1999. Who knew? FYI Canada doesn't even have that, and don't pretend that CNN, ABC and CBS aren't controlled by the Dems. Regarding the political/extrajudicial killings in Russia, that's just Russia. But tbh, America has killed people for treason as well, and is a show trial resulting in your execution so much better than a death warrant from the politburo? They both result in death, only 1 death has a heaping side of slander and the other has a side of polonium. 6) Total horsesh1t. Zelensky absolutely is a dictator, and let's not forget that he was installed by the US gov't. He kicked out all opposition and he seized control of the media. What more does he need to do to earn his dictator badge? Start a fire by rubbing two sticks together? 8. Who cares if Ukraine is a friend of the US? That doesn't mean that they weren't an enemy to Russia, and even an enemy to their own people in Donbas. This is a messy divorce in Ukraine, and between Ukraine and Russia. This is the path that was chosen, and it's messy. 9. Putin can't be trusted. Uhhhh, ditto for Biden. Ditto for Kamala. Ditto for Hillary. Ditto for Trump. Ditto for Obama. Ditto for Dubya. Ditto for Clinton. Ditto for the FBI. Ditto for Pelosi. Ditto for Shumer... 10) To say that "American aid to Ukraine is not being wasted" is a total lie when it's made in such a broad, declarative statement. Some of it is definitely being wasted, and all of it was unnecessary because if the US hadn't put a pro-war president in the WH there wouldn't have been a war. Kudos to Biden for achieving something of great importance to himself, but not only was that money wasted, lives were wasted.

  36. Musk is removing every restriction and oversight they face from food to finance and you cheer while he does it. Right now the top 1% in the US hold 16 times more wealth than the bottom 50% but you id!ots think Musk is acting in your interests by trashing every oversight and curb on their actions.
