  1. I've really been enjoying Sky News' reports, but it's disturbing that our own media avoids crises like this, consistently.

  2. I think they should just shut the Liberal Party down forever and everyone in the party right now should retire. I'm not jumping at the chance to put some rich Goldman Sachs/Brookfield banker like Carney in as PM. Nobody even knows anything about the guy or his views or vision for the country. He can be Finance Minister or something. I want a PM who has the courage to do the right thing and make the tough decisions without worrying about who might be offended. Let's start putting the truth and Canada's national interests over people's feelings. This country needs to grow some balls.

  6. May or may not? WTF? Are you pretending that you didn't read the quote you posted and applauded as "a solution"? The strategy he PROPOSES to achieve the aim of dictatorship is a farking footnote to the goal of ending a democratic America. Jeebus.

  8. Trump says his lawyers looked at the report and all they found were a bunch of rude doodle art of penises! its probably similar to that ethics report on Matt Gaetz. completely fine and just boring! Trump: Jack Smith shouldn’t be allowed to release report

  9. I watched the funeral of Jimmy Carter on television. One of the things that caught my imagination was the sight of Barack Obama and Donald Trump, head to head, talking and laughing together. We’re aware of the animosity between these two. The whole birther conspiracy, and Trump calling Obama “a disaster” and labelling him “ignorant” and the ‘founder of ISIS.” And as Obama campaigned for Harris, he labelled Trump a danger to America. These two have done nothing but politically tear each other down. So why the chummy interaction?

  12. He wasn't considered a great VP pick at first. Turns out that Trump definitely chose well. Conservative politicians have an advantage in developing the ability to speak accurately, in that they've been walking on minefields for a decade now, watching every word they say so that the leftard media can't spin it on them, while leftists can rattle off lies and gaffes at warp speed without worrying that the media will call them out. As a result, conservatives are growing sharper all the time while leftists are growing soft, relying on the teleprompter and MSM to do all the heavy lifting for them.

  13. I think that's unfair to biden. As he himself once said, "When facing the challenges of the day.... tuesday i think? is it? I can't rebilebmnnenenn. Blemmenion. Anyway.. peanut butter!" Hm. Actually now that i think about it you may have a point. I'll shut up now.

  14. Liberal voters don't care, if you have any attributes that make for a good leader, or can manage your bank account, i mean take a look at justin, he had none of those qualities and yet 3 times elected...Liberal voters are made from the same cloth, sparkling socks, good hair, is what they look for...and of course if you happen to be a constant liar, dishonest, no integrity, no honor, absolutely no leadership abilities...your in... We as conservatives should be praising mark Carney, he is the man the liberals should put their weight behind....go carney go...

  19. Oh, look, a leftard's here to talk about stoking hate 🤣 You guys called people "anti-vaxers" for not taking the covid jab. You pretended that arson and assaults were mostly peaceful for years on end. You guys called conservatives racists and misogynists for years for no reason. Leftards are the world champions of stoking hatred and inciting riots. FYI it's normal to feel hatred for someone who's lying to you and gaslighting. There would be something wrong with me if I didn't detest you.

  26. And it's the question nobody is asking. And it's such an obvious one that it makes me feel like it's being asked behind closed doors and probably the people that are putting their money on the table right now are being lied to. Trudeau is pushing Kearney hard inside the party, but loyalty to Trudeau is falling fast. I suspect he will be used as a sacrificial lamb, and shot appropriately, and eaten at the next Leaders victory celebration. There's no way to guarantee that the party will let you have more than one chance. If you lose it's an automatic leadership review regardless and the Liberals are Cutthroat internally. I suspect we will be seeing a book in Carney's future and I expect that the end of it will be heavily tear stained.

  27. He brought a devastating wildfire that has destroyed a massive amount of homes, killed people, and continues to engulf more, with firefighters working even as we speak to fight, trying to contain it all bravely... upon himself? I swear, do you even stop to think about the stupid garbage you type before you do?

  28. Carney has no parliamentary experience. He hasn’t earned the right to run for this post. Politics is a fiendishly difficult line of work. Nobody should be walking into the job.

  30. The first question that should be asked of the party and these contenders: what is this race for, exactly? To lead the party into one election or a little bit longer or for two elections? If it’s just the one, many can do it. But if it’s to rebuild the party after what will probably be a big defeat, then at least one of these candidates doesn’t look fit for purpose. Try as I might, I can’t visualize Mark Carney three years from now pumping the flesh in Bumblefrig nowhere after yet another ghastly chicken dinner and pretending to listen to a horde of tedious hicks when he could be dispensing wisdom at Davos. I also don’t like the idea of some banker waltzing into a job he hasn’t earned the hard way as an MP. Freeland would have the will to face the outback but she’ll be older too. And as for Christy Clark, is she even a Liberal at all? There’s an argument to jump a decade and look for somebody in their forties. My own preference would be for Freeland and I’d keep her on for the next time, initially at least, if she got a decent haul of the popular vote. The seat count should be irrelevant although I realize MPs may not share that view - FPTP will make it look far worse than the fall in the popular vote. Bear in mind I thought Garneau was a better bet than the young man with sunny ways last time out so my instincts in these races are usually very wide of the mark. One other feature - absolute no hopers throwing their names about as possible contenders just to big themselves up in the party, or so they hope. More frequently, they invite ridicule from their peers.

  32. In his mind, he did. He responded to the emotions he felt at DB identifying how to use personell to drive policy. Does it matter that DB was imploring DJT to institute such a policy rather than "prostrating himself"? No. The emotions he felt are all that mattered.

  38. How can the liberals blame denying of climate change for stalling plans , when first elected they had a majority, then came the NDP, are you suggesting the NDP stalled plans, Conservatives had no power to stall any plans, regardless of what their policies were about climate change....lets face it it was never a liberal/ ndp priority....carbon taxes where enough of a distraction for the people... Yes liberal policies made climate change a whole lot easier....
    1 point
  39. No but we can pin a lot on those who deny climate change for stalling plans to prepare for it by everyone else. With prolonged heat, drought, lack of infrastructure and preparedness and recurring cycles of high wind the current fires were inevitable. Hell I remember driving the coast highway in the early 1970s thinking WTH are these people doing building houses hanging from cliffs in an earthquake zone and coastal erosion? Didn't even think with the scrub as being from Canada I only equated huge actual forests with fires. Now we see those fires burning right into towns here too. Kelowna, Jasper, etc. Plan for the worst and all that.

  45. "It seems a lot of American can't conceive why Canadians are not so eager to join the union. I'll give you a few reasons: - We love our country, just you like you love yours. Things can always be better, but this will always be our home and native land. - The climate sucks, but we're used to it, and it can be quite beautiful at times. We have warm homes with warm people, winter sports, and lots of sunshine. - None of my kids have had to do active shooter drills, unlike their cousins across the border. Our cities are the safest big cities in North America. - There is no role for religion in politics. No one cares. - We never have to worry about health insurance. Granted the system can be improved, but there are no co-pays, no monthly contributions, few worries. - There's no corporate donations in politics, it was banned 20 years ago. Billionaires can't own the political system. - The media (what's left of it) is not allowed to broadcast false or misleading news. - There's no corrupt geriatric supreme court that can ruin your life. Here judges have mandatory retirement, and few Canadians can name even one of them. - Abortion has been permitted for 35 years and is a non-issue politically - There's no senate or electoral college that can keep unpopular parties in power. - Higher education is good, cheap and accessible. Few are crushed by student debt like in America.
