I'm not voting, although thanks for the thought. I'm not big on these types of things. However...I think honorable mention needs to go out to @User for being mostly level headed, and of course to @robosmith for pure comic relief and sheer effort.4 points

It starts with righteousness, the quality of being morally right or justifiable. Canada was going to be the poster child for reducing climate change. We were going to be leaders on the world stage. To our naive Federal leaders that was very noble. However righteousness (“I’m right, you should do what I say.”) leads to the next step which is arrogance, the sense of superiority and scorn. Canada would achieve its climate goals by simply eliminating anything that emits CO2 regardless of the consequences. Let's just shut down the fossil fuel industries so we’ll appoint a Federal Minister who will be obsessed with doing that. To the righteous and naive, that seems very reasonable, but it ignores the fact that people have to heat their homes, drive for work and have the lights on. So now comes the next step and that is everyone gets angry. The Federal leaders are angry because people are stupid and won’t listen and the people are angry because the government’s obsession hurts. So with anger on all sides comes the last stage and that is hate. Hate is dividing Canada, causing us to look at the wrong things, and preventing us from doing something reasonable. So what can Canada do? Many years ago I took military leadership training and the definition of leadership was “the art of influencing others to achieve the aim”. That is not what our Federal government is doing. Today there is no art (skill), there is heavy-handedness and the aim is economic hardship without visible benefit to the individual. Canada can’t stop global climate change, all we can do is our share with everyone else. Our leaders must show understanding and empathy for the lower and middle classes (the voters) and offer alternatives that improve their lives. Righteousness needs to be stamped out and replaced with humility and compassion. In the US they have just turned to an autocrat, they’ve given Trump power. With Trump people must simply obey but they don’t need to feel guilty for what’s happening. Trump tells them others, not Americans, are to blame. Canada is too fragmented for that to happen, so the bickering and fighting between the Federal and Provincial governments will maintain a downward slide. Trump won by blaming others and Trudeau will probably lose because he blames us.3 points

I read this article this morning and it helped me realize the ally we conservatives had in Joe Biden. Joe ultimately found out exactly what the Democrat party is made of. I'm no fan of biden but Democrats did him dirty and this article suggests joe screwed over the Democrat party for doing so. I realize the article is an opinion piece but I'd like someone to explain how it's incorrect. I also dont think joe dreamt this scheme up on his own but he screwed the Democrats good. Joe started the screw job of the Dems when he "dropped out" of the race in July when he endorsed harris during the announcement. In August Nancy piglosi admitted they didn't expect joe to do that. They were stuck with Harris because they couldn't decide to support a "black" woman for president even though she didn't win one primary when she ran for president. The final blown was when joe called trump supporters "garbage". That left a stink on Harris she couldn't wash off. Thanks joe. I wish you all best in whatever years you have left. You really did help America. https://www.frontpagemag.com/the-kamala-screwjob/2 points

There's an "other" option, which seems to be accumulating votes. I think that we should start a FORUM VILLAIN thread so that we can see who accumulated the most leftard tears 🤣2 points

America has grown tired of carrying the torch. We understand. It happened. It happened this time not through some terrible calamity, no great recession no desperate decline. It just happened. Boredom. Tiredness, absence of paths forward, dimmed hopes. Well, the reasons and causes can be many but the exam is done and there results are in. They do not lie: about a half of the nation are ready to accept and/or embrace fascism, in the right form if it's wrapped in the right posturing and rhetoric. And one more time: this is the reality. Factual. A half of the nation is ready to embrace fascism. Numbers don't lie. Where do we go from here? Hope for another election? "Better connect with voters"? Will it work better than the last time? Could it? Not a chance. Sleepwalking into the disaster in the hope that things would fix themselves at the very last moment, somehow, is exactly how the world ended up in a big trouble the last time. Back then, to remind, it was a world without nukes, gigantic stockpiles of it and brutal and ruthless totalitarian dictatorships ready to use them to redraw the maps and rules of the world. Someone is frightened to peek out the window? Or will double down on the belief and worshiping of false prophets promising the salvation out of deep throats? And you need those votes, right? So you can't say it, the real state of affairs, the truth and will slide further and down in the vain hopes that will melt and evaporate with each passing day? That would be exactly what you did the last time. Not sorry to break it: it doesn't work. And it will not. One cannot overcome a change and a challenge of this magnitude by ignoring it, looking the other way and playing happy tunes. It would only be an illustration and manifestation of the underlying cause of this conundrum, as always: it rose because nothing was left standing to it. The rules, conventions and traditions of the past eroded rusted and fell apart gradually but surely one by one. And nothing new came up, was built thoughtfully and persistently to replace them. All the way until, out of the blue, one deep throat of a common demagogue - not even a master of the genre as they come, was enough to bring it all down. All the while you were coasting in self-imposed illusion that something drawn on paper could last indefinitely. Even the last chance offered by the time you blew blissfully, without as much as a flicker of a thought. So no, small chance that it would work now. No miracle escapes and cures in these cases. One possibility one could think of is an open national conversation, with a simple, clear topic: should we become a fascist nation? Are we ready to walk this path, from words that were spoken and are a fact now, all the way to reality? Not everyone would like it. Some will try to ignore or rejected with near-infinite number of reasons and excuses. That changes nothing. No election, no miracles will fix this problem easily now, at this stage. And ignoring it will almost certainly help it progress to the final ones. Now that you know it (it was in the book all along but you forgot) it's in your hands to make use of it - or ignore and squander yet again. A free choice. And there would be nothing new in it for the history that can't even recall the number of times it seen it happen. Nothing lasts forever in the entropy world. Things that need to be standing require constant and persistent thought, care and work. How easy to remember it. And so easy to forget.1 point

Don't forget the Pelosi also claims that Joe is a hero because he stepped down of his own accord and made the choice to do the right thing on his own and stepped down for the good of the country. When we know with certainty it was a phone call she had threatening Biden that made him step down. You have to kind of understand the situation they were in. A primary process had already been held. Biden had been democratically nominated. They knew full well that there was very likely going to be massive backlash for setting aside the will of the people and just doing whatever they wanted. So rather than make it look like some sort of Palace coup everyone pretended it was joe's idea all along, pelosi acted like promoting harris was Joe's idea and Obama pretended to be reluctantly talked into it. That could have gone the other way very easily. There could have been a huge backlash among democrats who were angry that their choice was set aside by the party. And in the end they really had no choice. There was really no choice but Kamala. If you look at any other process to try and get a nominee you run into massive problems both practical and political as well as legal. Long before it was announced the pundits were already saying that harris was the only actual choice that could be considered. But sure, Pelosi was shocked and obama had to be talked into it.1 point

Canada is sending arms to Ukraine to fight Russia. You're really that IGNORANT. LMAO Since February 2022, Canada has committed over $19.5 billion in total assistance to Ukraine, including $4.5 billion in military assistance. This includes Leopard 2 main battle tanks, armoured combat support vehicles, anti-tank weapons, small arms, M777 howitzers and associated ammunition.Oct 18, 2024 Canada announces new military assistance for Ukraine Canada.ca https://www.canada.ca › news › 2024/10 › canada-anno...1 point

There is no good argument for mainstreaming transgenderism. This is about what the citizenry wants, not what activists want. YOU are an activist, and Americans are sick of your activism - it's a sickness, and now it's time for America to heal from that sickness. The voters have spoken.1 point

And the message needs to go back loud and clear, "this is what we'll do to you if you try" This is why it was so disappointing that somebody Canadians kind of blew it off at the time is no big deal. But at least now he faces ruin along with his party. But we should be just as much in the face of the NDP for their support and for propping them up afterwards1 point

My only contribution here will be to remind the fact of reality that United States of America is a guarantor of safety and territorial integrity, in the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine. This is a formal, solemn obligation signed by the President of the United States. I guess to f-ck-d up brains, and yes by the way it's a fact of reality too, it doesn't matter one bit. Let it all go in flames all at once: rule of law, honesty, dignity, liberty, credibility, self-respect. Why bother? There's greatness as never before, right ahead. What about the citizens though, who recited oaths read those books, with pictures and records? Is it all in the past now, thing done and forgotten? Oh well. It was a cute promise.. these things happen though, don't you agree? All the time actually, the Universe is so old. A shame, but oh well. Now, what were you saying?1 point

2 things. First, man you have a lot of soap boxes. You should go into business selling them. Second, don't worry about this, Trump will convert enough of the half that wants fascism. They will become patriotic Americans that want to change the course that America was going down. Freedom. Peace instead of war. Smaller government and lower taxes, whats not to like about that?1 point

Why? It was a gross abuse of power that was totalitarian and dictatorial. It stopped on the freedoms of every Canadian including the ones who don't want to talk about it. Why on earth should we ever get over it? If we get over it, then they think they get away with it and they do worse the next time. The liberal party needs to be punished to the point of Extinction and we should never ever ever get over it.1 point
